Has anyone read this? Its from the creator of Love Hina Ken Akamatsu and I have to say this manga series was awsome. Its more ofan action series than Love Hina since there are some wizard battles but it still has lots of elements from his previous series. So, anyone else heard about this manga?

I love this manga, so lovely ^__^

cans someone describe negi for me? personality and fighting style
Negima is a romantic comedy part shonen action title
The manga has a very upbeat atmosphere which is helped with the sprinkling of ecchi scenes
Since this is a manga concerning magic you'll see plenty of that during the battles in addition to martial arts. Considering that the mangaka has mainly made his career off romantic comedies, he can draw fighting scenes excellently
Don't know if you want some story too -
i mean the character negi.

I absolutely love this manga! It is so much fun. It's commonly refered to as being a cross between Love Hina and Harry Potter, which isn't neccisarily wrong, but it is so much cooler than you might expect. Negi has a really interesting past and his goal is to finally meet his father again who is presumed to be dead.
The current arc especially rocks, and I can't wait for the next chapter. Should be at the same time a kick ass battle as well as being very touching.
By the way, if you've never read the manga, don't decide to get into this series by watching the anime. That was a total bastardized pile of crap which did this excellent series a real disservice. There are a couple decent episodes which stay true to the manga, but they are few and far apart. The ending licked balls also. Just go read the manga.

That goes for Love Hina also. The Love Hina manga was better than the anime! I mean most episodes in the Love Hina didn't even happen in the manga…Anyway, if you want to get into Negima or Love Hina, make sure its the manga, not the anime.
-
I've only read up to vol 9….pretty good so far.
Negi's dad is TEH COOLNESS. -
I love negima, i got into it by the anime but the manga is ten times better then that crap, so far im at chapter 114, and it really good.
-
I heard of it before but never really know what is it about. Some of my friends really like it though, but there's some rumour amongs the Thai anime sites that Negima was banned. Is it a good manga to read?

The manga is fantastic, but don't get into Negima by watching the anime. Trust me the manga is waaaaay better! XD

Anyone have a link to subs?

Anyone have a link to subs?
Since FUNi got the dub, I doubt you will find any, but there will be subs on the first DVD release. :)

damn my horrible flu! Can't even remember such a simple wordNot a bad thing. FUNi's earned a good reputation now as a quality dubber; they're ranked just below Geneon (third best in all polls) on ANN.
The trouble is that the Anime had low production values, inferior animation, and funky colours. I heard Akamatsu cried over how butcherd his new show was; this is why they switched directors when the series was about to end, and is also why the series ended this year (despite starting this year, too).
-
Ah,so the anime sucked huh?
Thank god I haven't watched it yet.
Are they gonna remake it from scratch? -

too much fanservice for me.

Ehhh…I'll stick with the manga for now.
-
The anime isn't that good but the PS2 games are.
The character desgins are way better and sticks to the original manga, though has some content.
Here's some images and the links to the officical Konami website.
Links to images of the 2nd game: I know you want to look at it.
Link to the official website for the second game: I advise you check the section that has "3-A" written in it first. Trust me.
Here's a bonus image from a gamescreencap guide:

I bought the first manga volume and I stopped after that. It's basically the same damn thing in every other harem series, espically Love Hina, except with magic, WHICH MAKES IT 500000% BETTAH! [/sarcasm]

who ranked first in the poll
Not really sure but I'm thinking ADV Films since it was awarded "Best Anime Company in the USA" in Anime Expo.
Here's another PS2 game screen cap  :

What's the game about?
-
Well Forte EXE, here are the details about all the PS2 games:
Mahou Sensei Negima Vol 1.
About: Helping your class pass for the final exams. You have to domany teacher responsibilities like calm their stress, keep track of their grade statistics. The game is in 3-D graphics so your able to walk around the campus of Mahora Academy and complete tasks.
Aside of that, akward things can happen likethe screencaps I posted and there will be some wizard battles. Though only in the first game.
Here's the front cover:Mahou Sensei Negima Vol 2-Jikanme.
About: Now, this is more of a sports fest genre. You have to train your students in their PE for the big sports competition.
Since this involves sports, at most times, your students will be wearing PE uniforms most of the time. You have to train their stamina, give them exersizes and keep track of their stats. No wizard battles in this one but it involves akward peverted situations like the images I posted in this thread.
Here's the cover:Mahou Sensei Negima Vol 3-Doki Doki Beach Hour.
About: This game, I have no idea since its coming out later in the year, but from seeing a preview, the game now involves and takes place in a beach resort.
A guy in "Mahora Academy" a Mahou Sensei Negima forum is giving us updates little by little about the game by giving images and giving info.
Here's the front cover of the 3rd game: -

If you think you'd be more interested in it if it had more shonen-style battling, then perhaps you should continue buying (or downloading if you don't want to spend moolah)
-
I MUST BUY THESE.
Better check my game store. -
Oh, just to tell, it was Xebex who produced the anime adaption of Negima.
Oh, well. The anime sucked, but the soundtrack, character singles and maxisingles were well done. Plus, the VAs were well chosen.
I have some more game screens over here.
This is from the first one.

I just started getting into the manga some time ago and I must say, I'm already lovin' the series after the first volume!
So everyone's saying that the anime sucks? Eh, I still wanna see FUNimation's rendition of the show, considering that Fullmetal Alchemist was done wonderfully. (Actually, or Fullmetal, I've found myself liking the English dub a wee bit better at times than the Japanese audio)
Guess I'll have to wait untill June 13th…
Oh and in case anyones wondering:
Negi--Greg Ayers
Asuna--Luci Christian -

Oh and in case anyones wondering:
Negi--Greg Ayers
Asuna--Luci ChristianThe dub VAs look good. Luci Christian has done many good anime roles, mostly from the anime ADV dubs and she's done Yukari-sensei from Azumanga Daioh and so much more. Greg Ayers, Nice! He's played many roles including Toga from the Gravion series and Goku from Saiyuki. Dub VAs look great so far, but how about the other 30 girls?!XD
True, the anime adaption sucked but one thing they did good was the soundtrack, character singles and maxisingles.
I'll put up some character songs and the opening "Happy Material" performed by the class of 2/3-A.Well, here it is and feel free to listen to these singles and maxisingles:
Happy Material Go! performed by class of 2/3-A.
Itsudatte Love and Dream performed by Asuna Kagurazaka.
Nichiyoubi performed by Konoka Konoe.
That's all for now. Enjoy  ! And no need to be shy to post comments on these songs.

Thanks for the music!
Do you have a link to the latest chapter? -

Thanks for the music!
Do you have a link to the latest chapter? Here's 123 RAW. Aquastar's translatitions aren't here for that chapter yet but its still good.
EDIT: Here's a little token of appreciation to those participating in this thread: A 3381 X 1596 Mahou Sensei Negima pinup  !

I watched the first three episodes of this and it's pure crazyness!
It's a good series, ask me why I think that and I couldn't give you a reason. Just something about it that is just crazy and I Love crazy things. -

It's a good series, ask me why I think that and I couldn't give you a reason. Just something about it that is just crazy and I Love crazy things.I highly suggest you read the manga. It is way better. Lots of story plots were left out in the anime, the production value was low, and the color and character desgins were terrible. Plus, the ending sucked and the manga hasn't ended yet. In fact Akamatsu said in his blog that it will take 20+ more volumes until he can wrap up the series and the manga in Japan is at volume 14 right now! So, if your in to the anime, you'll love the manga 10times better! Here's the link to where you can read it: Volumes 1-6.
If you want volumes 7-13, go to the pictures section and go to pages 2-3 and you'll find it.
Oh, and there is also more badass shonen-style wizard battles in the manga.
-
I might read it eventually but I read way too much at the moment and I really can't be bothered to read something else, it's easier to just watch it happen and not need lots of brain power to do it, don't care if it's crap, it's free and passes the time better then the crap they have on the BBC, I mean who wants to watch Rolf Harris look at injured cats going "can you guess what it is yet, doc?" for half an hour? XD

I must say, I was surprised by how good the manga was when I got into it (how many months ago?)
I'm really digging Ako now. I'm glad they focus on her for a bit.
-
This crack's fantastic. It's comparable to One Piece, it is. Hey, Daisuke CP9, did you hear that chapter 124 came out today? Do you know where I could get a raw of it? The MSN website you posted suffers from the same problems as the early OP versions did; everything's resized to the point of illegibility.
-
Aquastar doesn't have the RAW yet, but they did find some spoiler pictures.
The RAWS of Negima usually come out every Monday.
SPOILERS of 124 Beware
Man, 15-year-old Negi is looking good.
-
Ako-chan's lookin' good.
I hope the next chapter is out soon. >_<
-
He's like "Prince Charming"; almost too fantastic to exist. It's a bit unfair, though, to let Ako long for a person who isn't real.
…
I think the bandage might give Negi away.
-
Recently got into the series, tis very good. Especially love the third volume.

Negima was really good up until volume seven. Then it became really awesome up until the "Mahora Tourney", which I thought was kinda boring and dragged on, but now it's awesome again.

GOD DANG, Nagi…I mean, Negi...is a PLAYER. He's only friggin' ten years old, and he's been on three dates. Look at this! I laughed through the whole chapter. XD

That's what I love and envy about the guy. Only 10 but has been on 3 dates XD ! Plus, when he's older…
-
It's absolutely mah-vallous.
Negi's one of the most distinguished and deep manga protagonists ever; he's got the fighting capabilities of a Shounen staple, the work ethic, maturity, and charisma of a Shojo lead, polymorphs into a Bishounen after using the "Age Decieving Pills" and heads a Bishoujo class! I cannot believe people originally thought him "forgettable". Jeez, this stuff is gold.
I personally do not like Nagi all that much anymore, though; he's kind of an arsehole, although that might just be because he's not really a "father" when his hologram fought Negi. I mean, he's only seen his son once, so he's not really conditioned to be a father; up until the tourney, I was always annoyed at how Negi was becoming a "Nagi-clone", but at the very least Nagi pointed this out to Negi.
Negi is a boy any parent would be proud to have as a son, and Nagi's treatment of him is just "meh". Not cool at all.
-
Though when it came to Nagi fighting Nagi….it wasn't really personal.
In fact. in the beggining, Negi was pumped to win, but in the end he lost, but he's still happy. After all, he got to see his dad again...Well sort of holographicly thanks to Ima.
As for Chao Lingshen, after the whole Ako concern is over, the search for that mischiveous cute girl trying to expose magic will probably continue. All the mages of Mahora Acdemy from teachers to students are searching for her...Anyway, do you think Negi might have to fight with Lingshen like he did with Evangeline?
-

That's the problem. Nagi was completely apathetic to the whole matter; I'm assuming this is because Nagi is ten years younger (ten years less wise) and because he hasn't grown up with his son, but really, smacking the kid around then telling Negi about how he is inferior to a ten-year old Nagi? That just spells "arsehole!" in my book; the hologram introduced 'bad' characteristics of Nagi that we readers had not seen before up until the tournament; vanity, arrogance, apatheticism…after the buildup for his introduction, I finished that chapter pissed off.
...
I mean, there's other Shounen fathers who are as care-free as Nagi (Goku comes to mind), but he gave Negi no breaks whatsoever. To top the whole matter off, Negi didn't care! As an outsider, I look at this and go "what the fudge"? Negi obviously loves his father immensely, even before the six year prior rescue, and he's adopted an adult attitude that completely contrasts Nagi. Furthermore, Negi bears him no animosity for not being there to grow up with him, unlike another boy who grew up without his father for six years (Edward Ulrich).
This is why I cite Negi as an awesome protagonist; he's so driven, he's oblivious to the injustices delt against him. He's an adult in spirit, though not in body. What a selfless son!

Chao's a total mystery; we won't find out anything until the end of the third day of the festival. I asked one of my friends what "Springfield" might translate to in Cantonese or Mandarin; funny if it was "Lingshen". She must clearly be one of Negi's descendants (his daughter?!) if she is Chinese and related, ruling out the half-sister or mother bit (which is unlikely). I'm curious, though, as to what sort of attributes she relies on for battle; technology, clearly, but Evangeline said that the Cassioppea has magical properties as well.
The descendant bit is more probable because the Cassioppea revealed thus far has only the capabilities of progressing backward through time, not foreward. Had Chao been a half-sister or Negi's mother, there would be no need for time travel in regard to the former and future travel for the latter.

Well, from what I hear Chao sometimes spars with Ku Fei from time to time so she might also be a martial arts expert…
Though it will be difficult to track her down in the third day, I mean her plan was so well organized. From recruiting Kazumi in volume 10, Hakase, a tech expert in her side, and a device whereyou can travel in time, it will be such a challenge. Plus some call her a genius for the fact, she's good at lots of things and she has the TOP test scores in Negi's class.
Though when she said, "relative" I'm thinking half sister or a close cousin. Not sure but who knows.
