I can't wait until multiple people try to wind up Chachamaru. That will be something.

T](http://www.negihaya.com/index.html)he Negima movie trailer is streaming on the site. I have a really good feeling about this movie for some reason.
-
Hey, I just started reading negima (just finihsed reading the whole chao/mahora festival arc…) and wanted to know which anime series should I watch? I heard there was a bad one and a good one. . . dont know which one is which though.
-
I am at the rakan vs. negi fight and it is awesome.

Hehe I guess I Just gotta read it then, I heard the anime was just super bad and suprisingly there is no anime out thats actually true to the manga form start to finish lol. I had to put the manga down after the chao arc for a bit though, too many things annoyed the fk out of me in that arc(like seriously when evil takahata came that was the breaking point and I was going to return the volumes I bought, but the bookstores were closed lol), but I heard the next arcs are super fking amazing so Imma give it another go now.

Wait a minute did you read after that or did you stop there?
EDIT: I suck at reading because you said that you finished that arc, what did annoyed you in that arc?

EDIT: I suck at reading because you said that you finished that arc, what did annoyed you in that arc?
Ahh I finished it eventually, and Im reading on now.
just a lot of things annoyed me in that arc mainly around chao though, Chao was annoying herself on how she was god moded but negi couldn't figure out how she was fighting when I figured it out in like the first three seconds (and negi is supposed to be a super genius mind you) I mean it took him like three fights to figure it out or something. . .and when he figured it out and used it in combat, thew ay it was presented was like come on. . .then negis who philosophical mumble jumble about whether he should or shouldn't fight chao. . .
Then Takahata sensei, about how hes so strong etc but he gets caught and STILL tries to act like hes all cool and shit with a "just as planned" smirk, yet he doesn't do shit right when hes in teh enemy base with his power. . .
and then Yue. . .I dont know what this guy was smoking when he wanted to make her commit suicide just because her friend likes the same dude she does. . .I thought that was just way too much over the top hammy drama bs over a school girl crush on HER TEACHER. . .
oh and how the adult "mages" were pretty useless, except when it came to battling the two strongest people in the school (the katana sword chick with the wings and the kaede) when they moved a week ahead in time and kaede mind you put albeiro to shame to where he had to bust out his Nagi card but couldnt wtf own some useless adult magic teachers I mean ffs Albiro had GRAVITY magic and kaede STILL held her own, but they had a hard time with a chick with a wooden sword. . .
Then the apparent betrayal of the students against negi and siding with chao, especially tatsumiya. . .and the fkign robot. . .I mean eva said that she wasn't gonna interfere but she lets the robot interfere? wtf total bs, not to mention if negi failed 1)eva would be a little girl forever 2)she would never find out about Nagi so why is she allowing chachamaru(the robot) to be used against negi? that made no fking sense. . .
THEN the fact that the principal "seems" useless but hes probably gonna be made out to be like the Negima version of the Ichiryuu(form Toriko) and be super fking strong, but he did fk all to help. . .hell he even helped in the kyoto arc when he sent eva to help, but now hes just gonna sit on his ass and do nothing? (this is before the final battle mind you) and then after they "fail" you're gonna tell me that he would have just let chao get away with doing what she did without doing anyting to help?! THEN blame and punish negi and the students?!? talk about B.S.
When evil takahata came in (before I knew he was a fake) and started attacking his students like it was nothing, that's when I had had enough, (especially with the flashbacks of his past before hand)I mean with friends/allies like that you dont need enemies!
another thing about the principal saying "all lets leave it up to the kids" as a reason to not fight. . .c'mon. . .you gotta find a better excuse to not have the strongest guy in that area not do anything Albeiro kinda has an excuse, as his body is still getting better or whatever and cant go to far, and eva is a vampire with a bad attitude (except letting chachamaru fight when she said she wasnt gonna interfere) but the principal! . . .just no. Akamatsu could have figured out a way to keep him tied up like he did in the kyoto arc…
A lot of the arc seemed like Akamatsu was just stretching it out for the sake of stretching it out, like he didnt really know exactly where he wanted to go after the arc was finished for the overall story, and while he was trying to figure out what to do he would just make the cast run around in circles untill he got the "inspiration" and just finished the arc...
but yeah the fact that pretty much all of the other teachers/student magicians not in negis group are useless save for takamatsu really irked me. .
Then Chao. . .all that bs about she waited for 2 years so you cant talk me out of thie plan bs made no sense when she gave negi the one thing to counter her (the time watch) I mean if that was really the case she would have 1)Not given negi the watch (the whole it was a trap bs is not sufficient becuase negi wouldnt be able to fightback if she never gave him the time thing in the first place)
2) after the preperartions were complete, just warp forward and cast the damn world ending spell! negi would have been too busy to take on everything at once, knowing how weak and useless the magic teachers were (and she was at the school for two years with liek 3000 robots, a super robot, a time machine, and a super assasin whos fought in WARZONES, you'd think she know about all the capabilities of everyone) it made it seem like she wanted negi to win but then she said that bs in the final battle that me yell "bullshit" (and this was AFTER I took a break from the manga after evil takahata and STILL couldnt get over the blatant b.s. I was reading, of course I heard that the future arcs get better so I trudged through) with all that b.s. negis stupid "turmoil" about should he beat her or not just really screamed "STALLING FOR TIME MANGAKA" at that point. One more thing that irks me. . .is that you now KNOW that negi will never die or get seriously injured, and will most likely be the best magi evar from the fact that chao is a decendant of negi (I know gradfather paradoxes are impossible but still most time travel stories use that including this arc so the point is still valid)
Thats the one thing about DBZ that I liked. . .is that they got time travel RIGHT
and STILL made it worth it for trunks to go back because he got trained to be strong enough to beat cell+the andriods in his own time frame. That being said. . .
the saving grace(s) of the arc was 1) the touranment. . that was pretty damn awesome especially when he put a bit more of asunas past in there for a bit.
the actual festival, the art was amazing! The imagination he put into the whole school as a whole and the festival stuff was just amazing, I was wondering if there really are really posh schools like that that has HUGE festivals. . .it makes me want to go find out and visit them! I mean FUCK a giant Dinosaur!? sorry, but thats awesome lol Akamatsu is REALLY good at world building. I was a little disapointed at how we never get to see the specifics of chaos home and what happens in the future and what changes happened in the future becuase of what she did, and most importantly how negi becomes the "Bad guy" that she mentioned in the first fight when negi was like "wtf why are you doing this"it seemed like either akamatsu a) couldn't think of anything or b)the editor saw what he was thinking of and was like no fkign way. . .but as b just wouldn't hold up against the other b.s. that went on, I was just thinking of (a)
Anyway, Im still reading on becuase after the arc ended, the manga because its really funny and seeing you guys say how awesome the next coming serious arc is
Akamatsu can really do humor well…. not Gintama well but still pretty entertaining.
Really I liked the Kyoto arc better than the chao arc...

The only thing that bothers me about Negima is the risque fanservice.
-
The only thing that bothers me about Negima is the risque fanservice.
hehehe
for some reason in Manga I dont find it that bad…maybe because its in black a white and I can just easily skip over it. . .in anime I find it extreeeeemly annoying lol
but if someone really made a GOOD anime off of Negima that's true to the Manga, I wouldn't mind the fanservice, as I know there will be awesome fights to be had...
As far as magic stories go Negima FAR outweighs Fairy tale.
Also if Negima didnt have as much fanservice as it did, It probably would be on par with one piece by now.
-
I find it a tad bit disturbing seeing the age group of the girls.
-
Ken Akamatsu was famous for that kind of manga before negima
-
i find the fanservice quite amusing, probably because most of it is presented in a comedic way.
it's nowhere near "disturbing" for me, in fact i even enjoy it sometimes.
but it's probably more acceptable in my eyes because the legal age is 16 over here,
and some of the girls don't look too far off in appearance (especially the tall ones). -

In Japan (except for Tokyo, Saitama, and Kanagawa) the age of consent is like 14 or something Crazy like that.
Anyway, the Magic world arc is already like 100000000000000x BETTER than the Chao arc OMG…and I jsut got to Jack Rakan with the "Bad face training thing, SO Hilarious!
-

Yeah, but the girls were college age in A.I. Love You and Love Hina.
In Negima they're ALL 15 and under. (Barring the magically stunted immortals)
@MDL:

Eww.
I mean, when you're 16 yourself I suppose thats fine, and its not that far removed from 18, but…. theres just such a huge difference mentally between 16 and 20.
And a LOT of the girls in Negima look REALLY young.
It's all pen and ink in the end anyway, but...
-
yeah, i totally agree about the mental thing.
and a big part of me finding it acceptable is definitely the "pen and ink" thing.there's this one friend of mine that the rest of us are shaking our heads at.
he'll be 20 this october….and he's engaged to a 16 year old. not even kidding.
we're all baffled.i'd love to know what the girl's parents even think of this. she's still in school.
as i said, this whole thing makes us shake our heads.
i honestly don't know whether to be disappointed towards it or pitying. -

i honestly don't know whether to be disappointed towards it or pitying.Well Marriage is stupid anyway (untill you really have enough money and life experience as a man to start a family) Seriously, men shouldnt get married untill their late 30's. As then they can start a family and the kid will have a chance.
of course in like hunter gather societies that doesnt matter but whatever lol
point is, that 20 year old should not be getting married anyway, ESPECIALLY to a 16 year old wtf. The parents are probably the one to blame, they probably didnt want both of the to "be together" and fked up their relationship so much that it drove them to get married just to piss of the parents. the parents should have just chilled out, gave their kid some condoms, and let the "romance" burn outAnyway. . .
Whats up with all the training arcs in Negima, I mean all the magic stuff is pretty damn good but. . .yeah whats up with that? Im surprised that no ones point that out, especially with the hyperbolic time chamber being used gratuitously. . .

which is kinda disturbing seeing as how in the magic world arc some of them become victims of possible tentacle rape.
It's almost like Akamatsu is saying through his manga "hey guys just reminding you that I use to draw hentai"

i found the chisame octopus thing disturbing and wondered if anything acually happened
but it was acceptable for me because IP sorta watch hentai sometimes, im old enough so it doesnt matter, im not weird -
Another week and another lack of chapter. Damn Obon. So I decided to fill up the space with fun theory time. Now I always figured that this arc was going to end with Fate dying and Nagi coming in at the last minute to save the day. But now I'm seriously considering an alternate possibility that the Life-maker IS Nagi or in other words, he was possessed by the Life-maker just like his former master was. This has drastic implications for the story.
Ultimately this means that there are three possible ends for the arc a)the Life-Maker isn't Nagi and Fate dies and Nagi comes in at the last minute to save the day b)the Life-Maker is Nagi and Fate doesn't die and c)the Life-Maker is Nagi and Fate dies (course I realize what option d is but that would be a pretty underwhelming end wouldn't it?:/) I'm really hoping for c. It'd be the best thing for the story. A shockingly tragic end to such a huge arc, a masterstroke of depressing writing the likes we haven't seen in an on-going shonen since the One Piece war. I've already discussed why Fate needs to die. It would go a long way in hyping up the final villain, completely alter Negi's resolve, baptize the remaining girls on the potential cruelty of their new world etc etc. As to what Nagi being the Life-maker would mean, it would be a very clever way of marrying Negi's goal to surpass his father with saving the world and beating the greatest threat ever. Truly a fitting finale for a series with such a wide scope.
But that's my pet theory anyway, only time will tell if I'm right.
-
I actually was thinking that Nagi could be was the Life-Maker now, or maybe its Arika.
I would like really like to see that.
-

I guess Akamatsu could fake us out with it being Arika but really it just seems a bit silly and contrived. Like it's forcing a plot twist whereas it being Nagi would be more natural plus it would do better things for the story.
-
Yeah Nagi would be the best bet at this moment you are right.

damn this manga is getting more awesome by the minute, I just got to the point where ku fei uses a giant version of Goku power pole haha (I know its originally from Journey to the west but still)
. . . I do have a question though. . . How does Albeiro and Rakan have a Pactio with nagi. . .
Did they really give Nagi a . . ."Deep kiss"?
Or did I miss something somewhere?

wait….are you telling me that the arc i'm currently working through (magic world) is still ongoing?
-
Is it possible for Negi and Co. to lose the magic world arc, and make a retreat into the real world and defend that from the life-maker and such? cause it seems pretty hopeless right now unless nagi comes and saves the day?
-
wait….are you telling me that the arc i'm currently working through (magic world) is still ongoing?
Every major arc so far has doubled the length of the entire series up to that point.
So yes. Still on the magic world arc. It's half the series at this point. The same way the school festival was half the series… but is now only 1/4 of the series. And the arc before that was half the series... and so on.
Makes me scared of what the final arc is going to be like. Probably be 300 chapters and 30 volumes long.

Well you can use blood to make a pact too, but some people like to think they also kissed.
-

hahaha oh I see, well shit NEgi should just pactio the rest of the girls with a blood pact then, he wont have to kiss anymore and the girls will be less reluctant/jealously interrupting it to get it done.
-
Well I don't think Negi would let his students hurt themselfs for him and we don't know how that works so maybe you really need a lot of blood to make that pact

First of all: Yes that was indeed awesome. Epic moments in Negima? Who'd have thought!
Secondly: It's never really explained. I don't know if it ever will be.

I don't think Akamatsu will want to go on for that much longer, but hey I've been known to be wrong before.
It's pretty much a given at this point that there will be one more mega arc to out-do the last. If all those hints of a great event and the new villains weren't enough (plus Akamatsu really needs to finish that roster), the fact that all of the Life-Makers subordinates were taken out in one spell plus Setsuna and Tsukuyomi's off-screen fight serve as even greater support for the idea. If this were the last arc, the aforementioned would have been greatly rushed and handled in a disappointing way. But as previews for the final battles? Then it's fine.
-
@Kareem:
I don't think Akamatsu will want to go on for that much longer, but hey I've been known to be wrong before.
He could if he wanted to though, after this "arc is over, he could take a break for a few months like Hiatus x Hiatus and continue nagis exploits in the magical world, as a magister magi, continue on untill adult hood, and through his succesors and all the way through to chao's time and story and resolution etc. . .
It could be his life's work.
could be called the Epic of Negimesh. . .:ninja:
on another note though. . .I kinda wish akamatsu would let Negi …grow a little and not be ten years old. . .as much time as hes spent in the hyperbolic time chamber, he should be like 14 years old already lol let him grow a little. . .so that the pactio this isnt so much of a child porn thing lol
-

Agreed hard. My main problem is that Negi is easily one of the strongest beings in the Negima world right now… at the ripe old age of 10. If he were a teen it'd be fine since we've come to expect that from Shonen, but he's a freakin' kid. It kind of bothers me because how strong will he be by the time he's 25? I predict he'll basically be a God who can stop natural disasters by snapping his fingers. Anyone else got any ideas? Because it seems quite possible at the rate Akamatsu is going with Negi's strength.
And btw I know that this is one of Robby's problems with the series as well.

Given that the final stop of the series will probably be time-travelling ten years into the future, it won't be 300 chapters wasted given the oodles of new world-building (apart from the ten years world, we gotta see Zazie's world plus any other worlds if they exist) and new characters Akamatsu will have to introduce. That or we could get a ten year time-skip where Negi is strong enough to take on the Life-maker. But I doubt Akamatsu would take that route (geez, imagine all our characters ageified. It's preferable to the underage fanservice sure but after all this time, it'd be a bit weird and would take time getting used to).
-
whoo! FInally caught up…
Amazing. . .although I skipped the two chaps with Zazie in it, I was really annoyed that she just came out of nowhere (Akamatsu even admited it lol) just to serve as some middle sub boss that nobody cares about/ / /and that poyo crap she was saying after each sentence was just cringe worthy lol it was like chao all over again!
Akamatsu might not do any time traveling with Negi, although I have no idea what "Solution" hes got but since the magic world wont break down for another 100 years (thanks chao) its probably something based on chaos technology or whatnot. (hakase and chacha have access to some of it)
in the mean time negi can finish school, , students can graduate and he can be a full magic master (with fate) in the meantime.

this arc done yet?
i haven't read in like 20 chapters or so and was hoping to hold off until the arc was over. Is it done yet? is it done soon?

But there long for a legitimate reason and not because the author is trying to milk the series coughkubocough right?
-
Given that each chapter is either developing the many characters, progressing the plot or dealing with one of the countless sub-plots running around instead of terrible, dragged out battles one after the other then no.
-
hahaha oh I see, well shit NEgi should just pactio the rest of the girls with a blood pact then, he wont have to kiss anymore and the girls will be less reluctant/jealously interrupting it to get it done.
The thing is, the kiss just happens to be the easiest way to make a pactio, and Negi usually needs them as soon as possible. There was a reader that sent in a question asking about the Nagi thing and Akamatsu talked about how there are different ways to make a pactio, but didn't directly answer it. Basically, they kissed if you want to believe they kissed.

Man, I can't wait to read this chapter. I don't usually post in this thread (even though I've loved Negima! for years) but it really looks like there's gonna be something amazing coming up…
