I just completed the Easy Living Mission:
! Man, I don't know why, but it had me laughing so hard my sides hurt. Especially when Cole goes to use the blast core and then just falls over.
! Friggin Hilarious.

I'm at the edn of the game on the hero side. Will probably beat it in a little bit, taking a break, though.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Beat it and now I'm sad at the ending. Also, this game is extremely easy to platinum in case anyone was going for it. I'll take a few days off before I go for the evil end.
I'm not far because I've been making my own level. Pretty hard too.
Just finished my good playthrough.
! John eh? I like that. Really sells everything.
! I was shocked at the end when Kuo was the evil choice.
! Man that ending was sad. Perfect for a hero though. I'm really curious to see how the evil ending does things.
I don't know how you didn't figure that out from the first game. In fact, if you go through the old thread, I even posted that my theory was that (and guess the end to this game as soon as that reveal happened).
Well best game this year so far… Simply amazing... But one thing I haven't got...
! Why Nix and Kuo haven't got Cole's power with the Power Transfer Device and only the other way around… and why did Cole get fire powers if Nix's powers were more based on oil?

! I guess if a spark hits oil it catches fire…maybe? :wassat:

Could be but still don't get the
! switching powers if Kuo/Nix hasn't got any powers from Cole

Yeah that annoyed me too, though i hoped they would explain that later in the game (i still haven't completed it yet) i guess that's not gonna happen

! Cole is a more powerful conduit. A way way more powerful conduit.
! That's all I can say.
! There's going to be a third one though. The good ending was confirmed to be the canon one.
! Look for a lot of answers there.
! I'm especially looking forward to hopefully learning more about Moya and who she works for and how she knows all she does. We never did learn any of that in the first one
And I'm torn between this and Dead Space 2 for my personal Game of the Year so far.
Though, I'm 99% sure that it won't matter once Arkham City comes out.

! Really? I didn't even know there were tie in comics.
! Are they completely canon?
! And is there a place to read them online?

! I believe it is canon with the game
As where to read it online, I don't know. I just downloaded the issues off the net.
100% canon as the writer is the writer for infamous.
Released by DC comics.
My favorite cutscene in the game (not a spoiler):
Most definitely. That had me laughing so hard.
It's just perfect.
Well played through good and evil and this game is GOTY for me. No other potential game, which will be released, can top this so far. Maybe one will be WAAAAY better than expected
Seriously, you're counting out Arkham City?
I wouldn't count out Arkham City, Uncharted 3, or Gears 3. But yeah, inFamous 2 is great.
I think InFamous 2 will win a GotY somewhere, but Arkham City or Uncharted 3 is going to win the big ones.
Personally, I think it'll be AC…
I liked InFamous 2, but I didn't really dig the ending. Much like the first one, it just ends so abruptly. Almost bordering on anti climatic.
For my playthrough, I finished my game as a hero. Youtube was kind enough to share the villain ending with me.
! Despite being a total character derailment of Cole IMO, I found the evil ending more engaging story wise. That last interaction with Zeke culminating in putting the final shocks to him was quite tragic (not so much with Nix's end, that was a little over the top for the way I played Cole).
! And they really needed to make the Beast a more difficult/epic fight. They built him up the whole game as the grim bloody reaper, and I pretty much beat him by spamming sticky grenades and lightning rockets. Yawn. Taking on the Leviathan slug monster was much more intense (despite the obligatory glowy weak spots ala Star Fox).
! I still liked the game, but there were still some definite flaws in it.
4 trophies to platinum for me:
-collect all blast shards
-collect all dead drops
-create a UGC level
-play 25 UGC levels

Now this is cool. I haven't bought the game yet, but I'm still going to buy the disc version…..right after I play the free game trial.
I don't download games for the same reason I don't download music or buy e-books. I HAVE to have a physical copy. I've lost too many things to many times, and if I didn't have a physical copy I would have been screwed.

It was on release day in the UK PSN. It's a nice idea. If you don't mind spending a lot more. £49.99 as opposed to the shops selling it for £30-£35? I don't think so.
the game was cool but did anyone have issues with the repeated enamies such as fighting the titans so many times? in my opinion the titan was a harder enamy than the beast lol
Titans could be troublesome, yeah. The Beast wasn't that hard a final boss - on Hard mode all I had to do was spam cluster grenades and zap him in the face when he held on to me.
Just got this! Just finished the bit when you tail Bertrand.
I like it. Never played the first game. Nice gameplay; free roam landscape - I like it.

Unless you treat your PS3 like an unappreciated foster child (abuse it) or a hot wife who's openly promiscuous (loan it out) there's really no reason to worry about losing digital content you download.

Saying I treat it with care is an understatement.
But I'd rather be cautious so that if something does go wrong I don't lose my game.
There really is no reason to worry. If you somehow crash/lose a downloaded game, you can always go through your PS3 account's transaction history and re-download it. I actually feel you're more likely to lose a physical copy than a digital one.

You can also delete games that take up too much space and get them back if you ever change your mind
What final decisions did you all make? I'm there and I've read up on the consequences of both but I'm still not really sure.
EDIT: Just finished. I love this game so much. And I haven't even played the original.
! While the two different choices make it look like finite and non-sequel, I think in the good ending the lightning striking the boat could be used as a setup for InFamous 3 should they choose to do it (especially since InFamous 2's going down so well.)
So, cool little trick i just learned. I use Kenetic pulse to pick up an object(preferably large), then aim it 90° up and chuck it; then immediately i switch to the tether, and ride it up like a mega jump. I've gotten it to maybe 80° which gives me better distance, but anything less than that and he falls off mid way through. 2 cookies and a brownie goes to whoever can cap this, and put it to Tao Pai Pai's theme.
I'll definitely snatch it up if it drops in price (like to around $70). This actually is common for limited editions, as they're actually not as "limited" as they make them sound.
Aaaaand, I did. Hero Edition is now $59.99 at all GameStop locations, as well as online. Apparently this wasn't to clear stock out of stores either, as many GS stores actually received additional shipments in preperation for this price-drop. Also yes, it is a price-drop, not a sale. I guess the GS warehouses were stocked full?
I wasn't in any hurry to get this game after thinking the first game was "meh". I took Alice: Madness Returns out of the PS3 and popped inFAMOUS 2's disc in just to test it and see if it needed to install, it didn't so I just started the game up for the heck of it.
My God… that opening... I have played some very good games in my time, even so few of them have had a start that... well... electrifying, if you don't mind the pun. Alice is in inFAMOUS 2's case at the moment.
Beat the game finally and my thoughts
! Knew John was the beast though honestly this development didn't seem too fleshed out. Also the the good ending is really messed up though not as messed as the bad ending. All in All I liked this game better than the first don't know how they're going to put a sequel together.
Interesting
Well, if New Orleans can have Anne Rice, then New Marais can have Festival of Blood.
Beat it as Hero. Just like the first game the gameplay was very meh, but it had a much better story. I still don't get the praise the series gets, but I guess it's just me. I planned to play through on Evil next, but money is really tight so I'm actually gonna have to trade it in, probably rebuying it in a few years. I read up on the Evil ending and it sounds really disappointing so I'll only be doing it for platinum when I rebuy it someday.
Kinda amusing I have a statue and a sling-pack displayed in my room for a series I'm not a big fan of.
I still don't get the praise the series gets
Think that praise has to due mainly with the Open World nature of the series.
