i believe all the strawhats have a pretty strong basis for a relationship with each other.
by basis i mean the whole "ima push you outta death's way anyday, anytime, even if i have to give up my own life" thing. they just all… belong. they love going on adventures together, crying together, laughing together…just being with each other. hell, they should have an orgy and get it over with

cough now, ima borrow luffy, zoro and nami and make a point…sure, zoro and luffy could end up together. or maybe luffy and nami. or zoro might end up with nami. or a threesome could ensue. but non of that will ever be canon imo. nd no crew pairing is more probable than the others as far as i'm concerned~

Reyairia I don't really know what canon is but I have watched the anime and from what I've seen there are potential couples all over that ship.
I think that its okay to think about them becoming couples because the writers made it that you have to leave it up to your imagination. In the world of one piece you don't know what is gonna happen after he finds one piece but when they do what is gonna happen to the group, you should think about the later years.
That is how I see it and that is how I think it should be.

Hard to explain, but I will use a comparison here…

OC = Own Character, under-appreciated lil trolls (in some cases)
Canon = Actual... to the plot... y'know?

then you have...

OOC = Out of character... it's like Law getting drunk. Off alcohol.
Canon = They act as they should, so Law shouldn't be skipping through a meadow unless he's doing something that might involve 'slashy slashy'

Examples of canon PAIRINGS include Roger and Rouge...

I agree. Honestly I hated the whole sasusaku vs. narusaku bullshit in the naruto fandom when I was part of it, so One Piece is a nice breath of fresh air. Pairings are not going to happen, and if they are it's going to be with relatively minor characters where it'll just be a passing mention.

Canon means official. A canon pairing would be Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. Or in One Piece it would be Roger/Rouge. Usually it entails that two characters are clearly showing romantic interest in each other and most likely get together eventually, or are married from the start, etc.

Secondly, the manga author (there are no WRITERS, it's ONE writer) has stated outright that there is going to be no romance in One Piece. The anime is following what the manga author does, they may add filler to the story but they are not going to screw canon up majorly.

A lot of people are quick to point out LuNa, but the truth is LuHan and even LuVi has more going for it. Hancock at least has shown romantic interest in Luffy even though it's totally one-sided. While with

. Though I seriously doubt Oda intended for this, it's worth a mention because judging by her Sakuracon2010 interview, Oda and VAs do have a lot of influence over each other. Even if you like LuNa there's pretty much nothing going for it. If pairings are going to happen with the SHs, it's going to be with characters that are not on the ship itself, like Tanaka mentions.

Sorry but there are no "potential couples" on the ship. If Oda says no romance, that means no romance. It doesn't matter what you see.

Robin: either mother or oldest sister
Franky: oldest brother
Zoro: freeloading uncle
Luffy: middel child
Nami: a littke older than luffy
Ussop: youngest brother
Chopper: pet or baby
What do you all think

Brook: Grandfather
Franky: Faher
Robin: Mother
Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper: Kids

Then again:
Grandfather: Brook
Grandmother: Robin
Father: Zoro
Mother: Usopp (or was it other way around?)
Sanji, Franky, Luffy, Nami as children.
Chopper was Robin's Pet Reindeer Cat

Kaya and Usopp isn't really canon, though it was slightly implied Kaya had a crush on him. It might just be one-sided, but since Usopp does really care for her there might be a possibility of a follow up on that, though I doubt there will be much, if any, focus on it. Usopp hasn't really brought her up since he left the village. Although considering this is One Piece, lack of screentime is actually an argument for a pairing, rather than against.

Even though, Usopp and Kaya are probably a bad example. The only really canon pairings in OP seem to be the ones who are already married when they are introduced, with the exception of Rouge and Roger - it's not clear whether they were technically married or not. Otohime and Neptune are probably the best example.

And I like to use Igaram and his wife as a canon pairing.

I kinda like how Kaya was so devoted to her studies despite the chaotic situation of Merry okama fighting the suitors. She was so happy that Usopp is alive and well.

Mansopp better eat his word that Hancock is the most beautiful woman, Kaya's kindness outshines her totally.

I think a lot of the girls outshine Boa in a lot of ways… I mean she's really uber stuck up... The only situation where she isn't is when Luffy is involved, and it's obvious he doesn't really notice anyways XD Plus she's really... I guess the word is cruel?? Well, Nami is a bitch with a heart of … well "gold". During critical moments, she tends to be the most emotional (Luffy vs Usopp, Ace's demise).

Unlike Hancock, she could not kill a pirate (Luffy) to satisfy her own hatred. Hancock killed loads of innocent people.

Anyway, the point is that very few couples have a chance of happening in One Piece, aside from the ones who are already married.

Usopp/Kaya has a good chance, so does Hatchan/Keimi (unlike in the West, hugging in Japan is almost exclusively a romantic thing, and even couples don't do it very often). Maybe a few more, but the most a relationship is going to have in terms of cover time is probably a panel or a chapter cover if you're lucky. If I'm lucky, I'm an enormous Hatchan/Keimi shipper. Because of that, I'm 100% sure that there is going to be no couples within the StrawHats, as much as I like Franky/Robin. It would mean Oda would have to take some time to develop that relationship and that's just not going to happen.

I like Sanji Robin because they are pretty stylish. They sorta remind me of Vincent Cassel and Monica Belluci. On Ap's banner, I like how Sanji uses an umbrella so that Robin can enjoy her tea. It is pretty cool and I think its cute.

Yeah I don't see why a bunch of people are so surprised when I mention the pairing and they think it's a father/daughter relationship or something. It's very clearly romantic, even if it's just one-sided. I think Oda kind of used Keimi's crush to highlight that Hatchan was still as obliviously stupid as he was in Arlong Park even if he did seem more knowledgeable.

Yeah it was. x3 I really hope Oda does do something with them, even if it's just a cover with them on a date. Shakky does have extremely sharp intuition with these things after all, so I hope she does eventually become Hachi's girlfriend. <3

I agree that there won't be any couples among the straw hats but for a different reason,
If there was then there would be no privacy from each other or the rest of the crew, also if you in the middle of the ocean where would you go for a date unless they ask sanji in which case my previous statement will come into play.
Despite this and despite what Oda said, I believe that every anime should have at least one couple involving at least one of the main characters, and in all anime I've seen there is always one even if its just a hint of a couple.

I don't want it to turn into some romance manga cause I am still having headaches after the latest Naruto chapters. I do think the ordeals, the story, the funny and sad moment are the elements that make us like these characters. This is essentially what makes One Piece so good.

Once Luffy becomes PK, we will have a timeskip and we will see who ends up with who.
