This week's episode had what might be the single funniest segment I've seen on this show yet. They did a "regular" Trivia no Tane where they brought the world record-holder for speedwalking (Jefferson Perez of Ecuador) to see how fast he could walk to the station from a house advertised as "5 minutes from station." (the answer, 1:55)
But they decided it would be a waste to have him leave after just one short film segment, so they had him stay another day so they could do another segment. They told him he would just be walking twice around a track, and while he was in the waiting room at the stadium, they broadcast a fake news segment saying that "Five Shinsengumi samurai had broken out of a local prison and were on the loose"! When the staff in the room with him started discussing the segment, he said "I thought samurai were just a cultural heritage thing from Japan's past," until they corrected him saying "Samurai are the #1 problem in modern Japanese society. They're crazy, they'll kill anybody: women, even children have fallen to their blades!" So then they sent him out on the track, and after he had done a lap, they had a couple guys dressed up as samurai burst onto the track, cut down a few security guards and start chasing him around to answer the age old question, "If the world recordholder for speedwalking is threatened, will he run or walk away to escape?" He ended up running, but for the fastest walker in the world, he's a pretty slow runner. I was crying with laughter.
