Guras ?
Toriko

Guras ?

…
! who was catcher who was pitcher
! Toriko was pitching of course. Komatsu was really nonchalant about it.

@The:
I noticed this the gourmet ID as well as some ingredients, and if shimabukoro truly brings back all he introduces again he's as good a checkows gunman as Oda.
But what annoys me is that even if stuff gets re-introduced later on, Toriko moves at such a quick pace with such short arcs that characters and things can just whiz past in the blink of an eye their first time around. How much did we see the real Melk? Two chapters? Same with the honey prison guards. All the IGO officials who gathered to discuss the Bishokukai threat have been MIA, and time is spent introducing some pathetic thing like Bei, who by now is so incredibly far behind in terms of power that his relevance has gone. We spend several pages learning about the different prisons, honey prisons levels and seasons of the prison, of which we'll only ever see some etc.Toriko is at it's best in its longer arcs, Regal Island and Ice hell, because time is spent with the place/characters/concepts introduced, making you appreciate them more.
I would have to agree. I do however like the short arcs since they show more and more of the human world. Maybe the reason for the fast pace is that Shimabukuro wants to show the readers the human world as much as he possibly can before going even further into the Gourmet World. An it just donned on me that all these short arcs are actually part of a much larger arc: The toriko training menu arc.

! AHHH my eye's the goggles do nothing

The very image of Komatsu participating in any sort of sexual activity is a grave perversion of a beautifull natural process that brings joy to millions even at this very moment.
Toriko is manly enough for me to endure it. He's so manly he even makes the porn for straight watchers better :ninja:
-
For the first time in history I did not understand what No Maam was saying
-
That Komatsu participating in mating = a sin against mankind
That Toriko doing the same = 20 % rise in quality of said porn -
-
I laughed out loud…
I didn't know people didn't like Komatsu that much. =3= I think he's cute.
-
I don't like komatsu because he looks like someone I know IRL and I kind of hate him.
And that he looks like a child besides Toriko, and the bromance turns into pedomance.
-
I had a dream about Toriko too, but it wasn't anything freaky like that.
I was dreaming about Zebura eating a village of little people that looked sorta like Ommpa Lompa's.

That reminds me… Is Komatsu a shrimp in general or just when he's around Toriko?
I'm trying to think back to times where he looked normal sized...

I think he's like Koichi in JJBA part 4 - just a freakishly tiny midget, and no one says anything about it.
-
Well Komatsu can't turn into a SSJ…for now.
-
Also Koichi wasn't gay for Josuke, Jotaro, Johan or anybody.
-
Thats "bromance" you ignorant creepy bastards!!
Just look at Honey, when you know you can be trapped by such women you definitely see more estethic in mussels over the time. -
Bromance is the best kind of romance
-
Oh yeah.
Just replace the dialogue where Toriko asked Komatsu to become his partner into a marriage proposal and you've got it.
-
What is even happening in this thread…?
-
@THE:

Komatsu is at least interested in women, as evidenced by Warden Love.
Sani, on the other hand… wait. Hair control. Midget. hopy shit, I think Sani is gonna play Yuyako to Komatsu's Koichi.
-
Not to mention Komatsu got embarassed when Toriko questioned him about how he felt about Melk a few chapters back. Of course that could be a good cover.
Let's face it, this is the most unintentionally(?) homoerotic Jump manga since Hunter x Hunter.
-
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's got both beat in that regard.
-
NOT GAY. -
The picture above represents a battle formation, nothing else.

apparently i don't know how to post a video

Toriko wants to be the new JoJoBA..
Every generation needs that place filled. -
@Don:

Every generation needs that place filled.Actually I think Bleach is trying to be the new JOJO with their fullbrings and everything just reminds me of JoJo right now.

They are talking about the homosexual subtext, not the powers.
For powers Toriko is going for a fist of the north star/dragon ball style.
And for Jojo's powers style, HxH and the current incarnation of Jojo are the sucesors.

Battle Formations, everyone! -
Isn't "formation" pronounced "hentai" in japanese.

An unlike Komatsu Koichi was bad ass.

NOT GAY.I didn't lol but when I read 'not gay' than I lol'd to the max
what's one piece????
One Piece is what Dragonball failed to be. A highly interesting adventure tale that had action placed into it that never if once resulted in tournament competitions but still maintained that adventure feel even through the action.

umm.. I do not think one piece is what dragonball failed to be.. well I guess in theory yes, but I find dragon ball interesting and funny from its simplicity. Although I love one piece and both dragon ball, I find there is a reason why Dragon ball is more famous throughout the world.
-
the only reason why dragonball is more famous is because of the Super Saiyans and the fights…that's it.
-
@Geppetto: No Dragonball is famous partly because of how good it is, partly because of how many shounen were inspired by it. Technically One Piece has the role Dragonball passed down to it, but this depends on individual taste.
The funny thing is Yu-Gi-Oh in a way was a spritual successor to JJBA, but then it finished and JJBA still continues to this day. I wouldn't say Toriko is a successor to any one series since in a good way it seems to be similar to different aspects of some of the greats. It seems to have some of the homoeroticism/bromance of JJBA, the adventurous spirit of One Piece and the hunting aspect of Hunter X Hunter.

Only people i've talked to on the internet feel that way about dragonball. Anyone i've ever talked to in real life liked it because of it's action and for it's nostalgic factor.
I'm saying it the way i've been seeing it since I started watching DBZ when I was 8
-
Me too, Gep.
I just think it has a lot of issues…...like the second half barely having anything resembling a plot.

This is very true, at least toriyama tried to imply somewhat of a plot in there and didn't make it feel like a complete ass pull like tite kubo does.
-
My problem with the series always was, we had mostly boring locations as backdrop to goon fighting for alot of the series.

Toriyama did state that he found it easier to draw fight scenes when he had an area that was easy to draw for the background. Reason being why most of the fights happen in sand like areas or why a character will power up and wipe away the background to make it look like a deserted area. (just look at cell vs. Piccolo) Piccolo powers up in a city just to have that city leveled to look like a desert.

Toriyama did state that the reason that he made people fight in barren land was because it was easier to draw.. lol
anyway About your dragon ball part I do agree in some part but most people I have talked about dragon ball seemed to love it because of the action and simplicity, I had the whole volume of dragon ball and other mangas but whenever people visited my house they always ended up reading dragon ball not one piece naruto or bleach. And we have to keep in mind whenever Oda put whole lot of emphasis on adventuring, the result was not that great. the Early skypia arc and etc. -

Chapter is out. God I love the lot of new stuff introduced in every single chapter.
Also Zebra <3 -

I liked zebra as a bad guy…...
-
I liked zebra as a bad guy…...
I don't necessarily think he is a good guy.
Just that his actions have had unintentional positive effects. -
I love the side note on the last page. "The truly strong do not eat the weak!"
and that was a nice move, to make Zebra's extermination of 26 species all dangerous, destructive species. Like if he killed all the cane toads in australia, or something.
-
I X3 Zebra now.
-
I think Zebra was never good or bad..he just don't like cockiness thats all.
-
Yeah, Zebra's pretty awesome. Can't wait for the inevitable, 'all four Heavenly Kings fighting together' chapter.
