I'm catching up with the thread and re reading everything seriously. At the moment I'm at the cult theories and TheMidnightRift suggesting we don't trust our partners anymore. I'm not agreeing there. I said it before but, from the painting, what I feel is that loosing his dog (partner) the man was weakened, defenseless, and so, the monsters (cult ?) attacked him… Maybe I'm being too narrow minded here, but I think that if we can't trust our partners, the whole partnership is just a trap and that we have no chance of winning.

Trust no one, of course, Kitsune isn't a bastard mod, so, chances are, if he sent you a PM saying you have a partner that is Blue, the partner started blue for sure

I'd love to understand why TheMidnightRift is getting targeted now. I won't deny that I don't trust him -his gaming style hardly inspire with sympathy after all-, but for now he is the only one that said he was alone, and I'd suspect that enemies of the town, even if alone or in a larger group, would tend to act like the rest of the town.
Furthermore, lone players are probably the only ones with abilities. If we kill him on a hunch we might lose an important asset to the town.

The reasons he voted for Sky are sketchy

They make sense, she's quiet, fluffy, very different from her last game when she was Townie (I suspected her there, BTW) and she doubted the cult, ignore what Kmohyudin said, I'm not contriving her denial of the cult, she pretty much outright said it wouldn't make sense.

Some story based speculation below.
[Hide]I was thinking about the murals from the day post since they seemed really important to the partnership gimmick of this game. The first mural shows a man and a dog, 2 beings known to be partners in life. The second has a man and a monster, which could show distrust in one of the partners. The third one has both monsters, which could show tension between both. On the 67th hour, the third day, something may happen to those type of "broken partners" rather than the single partners.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is to trust your partners and partners ONLY. Even if they suspected of being in a possible cult, it's still two against everyone else. If they're a townie, then maybe the partner is one too, maybe not. If it's a cultist, I doubt the cult would go for the obvious way and go for the partner since the next person to be under suspicion would be the partner of the one that just died. Of course, we don't have confirmation of a cult just yet so we should still trust our partners until tomorrow. You may or may not follow this type of reasoning, but I'll continue to trust my partner until something very bad slips from them.[/hide]
I'll lower Harvardy in my suspicious list for now, but I still plan of sacrificing him to test a few of my theories if he isn't killed by tomorrow. (Sorry man, but I'm a trial and error type of guy) I absolutely need to know how the mafia and this curse works by tomorrow just so I can either prove or disprove some of my theories.

I have to agree with the Midnight issue. From what we can tell, it seems that partners are most likely townies without any powers, leaving the rest of the single characters either cult, mafia, or townie with powers. Midnight may fall into one of these categories but we have no confirmation on anything since we don't have any powers from him yet. He's still in my list but he's been slightly lowered as of now.

Also, recruiting mafia? Ffffffffffffffffffffffffffff-damn it! Do those actually exist?

That got me thinking. The Man/Dog analogy could mean the "cursed" kill their partners. That could be the "bad" part to having a partner. IF so, Harvady would be useless.

Bogart could very well be a mafia and know Sky is an important piece of this game but he could be a townie and tell the true.

True, Sky said something only the town knows (assuming mafias aren't also paired in two with quicktopics) but the theory of a partner being a hidden mafia was brought up so we shouldn't ignore it. I don't want Sky or anyone else dead without some strong proof of being anything else but a townie, but I want for either Bogart or her to clear that accusation. I don't know about the others, but to me it looked like Bogart hinted an investigation role and the fact that he targeted Sky last nightphase. One of them is probably lying and I wanna know the liar before gunning one of them. Bogart wouldn't do something like that as a mafia/3rd party unless by killing Sky or getting targeted would result in a big advantage for his team. Or of course, he may have gotten bored of the game and wants out.

guys, just a word about "clearing" someone. if this whole culting business is true, i don't want cops outing who they've cleared, simply because "cleared" townies make the best target for the cult. no one's going to bother to check them up again. so if you're a cop and you ever decide to post a list of "cleared" townies, for whatever reason, please be kind enough to let us know WHEN they were cleared, so we have know if they could have been culted.

At a certain time they revert to Full-Time Mafia and are able to kill (or convert) eventually ending the game with all Mafia (all monsters poly).

I don't want Sky or anyone else dead without some strong proof of being anything else but a townie, but I want for either Bogart or her to clear that accusation. I don't know about the others, but to me it looked like Bogart hinted an investigation role and the fact that he targeted Sky last nightphase. One of them is probably lying and I wanna know the liar before gunning one of them. Bogart wouldn't do something like that as a mafia/3rd party unless by killing Sky or getting targeted would result in a big advantage for his team. Or of course, he may have gotten bored of the game and wants out.

I still think the curse converts someone who kills their partner. As for Bogart, still want him dead. We can kill both Sky and Bogart if necessary for the town to move on, but I'd rather go after someone else other than Sky.

In the scenario that we have 2 negative groups, cult and mafia, could the mafia and cult be working together kinda? Like, a mafia member couldn't kill a cult member, or a cult member couldn't recruit/turn/whatever a mafia member? On that note, how many members could the cult recruit per night? Depending on how many, this game could either be quick or slow. If they can recruit a high number of members, a fair few people could already be cult. And isn't it necessary for the mafia to kill?

Vor didn't get my trick against Mastello so that's a big flag for me. He trusts Bogart. Other than that, he's very neutral. Vor is a long time player, he can go either way but I feel he's doing just enough to stay under the radar.

Appeared very confused about the third death for this day. That may be a show put by a mafia, or she really didn't have a clue.

Yep, if you go reread, you'l notice I said "I don't have a partner", Vorlianis said "This is what I was fearing" and then I said "Ok, good, anyone else who doesn't have a partner, don't claim". The entire logic is that I was afraid of Mafia getting people that don't have partners (that might have stronger powers), thus, I claimed I didn't have any partner to give you the idea there were those without partners, so you would change your mind about everyone claiming partnerships.

So much activity…I really hoped for Sky and Bogart to show up but that doesn't seem to happen soon.

Does anyone think that the episodes titles have a meaning? They're parts of an aria sang by Celes in FFVI (with FFVI being this game's theme I guess) and that aria seem to fit very well the pairings and the sadness of losing one's pair. And fits with KI and Trapped's deaths too. The verse after the next one's what makes me feel uneasy: I'm the darkness, you're the starlight. We can't have as many phases as the aria's verses but it makes me wonder at what verse the game's gonna stop.

The Mayor's shot and election being mandatory isn't good at all. This may be a bigger problem than the mafia itself. :pouty:

Anyway, since I'm not sure how long I'll stay up and no idea if a lynch would be achieved while I'm sleeping, I'll Lynch Vote: No Lynch now. It's not a final lynch, just me assuring that I won't get penalized if the dayphase ends while I'm asleep.
