Gin will not come back, is a lame character, and is too weak for the New World.
Dude, Gin was awesome, and you don't think it's possible he's gotten stronger over the course 2+ years?

He was stronger than luffy when they first met and probably started getting a lot stronger once he got out of kreigs shadow, he couldn't travel the grandline and not get stronger, he's not buggy
He stated that he will meet Luffy again. He realized that Luffy beat Don, he knows Luffy was strong. He stated that his dream was know the Grand Line.
Chances are he got stronger.
Gin will not come back, is a lame character, and is too weak for the New World.
Yeah Sanji will also get pwned by the New World. Don't assume crap there a more than likely chance he would have gotten stronger within the 2 and a bit years :getlost:

stronger than luffy? what?could his blunt attacks even damage luffy?
I'm positive we'll be seeing Hatchan again very soon.
They could easily knock him in the water. One of those to the head and Luffy would go flying.
They could easily knock him in the water. One of those to the head and Luffy would go flying.
Assuming Gin could even do that, Krieg couldn't and had to resort to a steel net and drag Luffy into the water with himself

Maybe he got stronger, but not enough for the new world.
Maybe he got stronger, but not enough for the new world.
Basing this off nothing, considering what is the strength required for the new world, doesn't help your case in any way whatsoever.
Maybe he got stronger, but not enough for the new world.
And you know that based on what? You are still assuming crap, any of the monster trio could last in the New World. Sanji is stronger than Zeff, who managed to last in the New World. Sanji got pwned by Gin, Sanji has gotten stronger, saying Gin hasn't is idiotic, even Smoker said he had gotten stronger between the two meetings with Luffy.
I thought that we haven't heard of Gin because he was poisoned. Because Oda didn't want to kill him directly, his fate was left open for readers. And for me Gin, Yosaku and Johnny have always had poor character designs, so I don't really care if they won't show up.

Totally agree with you, Gin was an overrated and lame character.
Totally agree with you, Gin was an overrated and lame character.
Why do you think that? Most people like gin and want to see his return, what are your reasons for not liking him.
More detailed than that you think he's overrated, explain why you think he's overrated.
OMG I don't like _________, s/he is male and overrated!:getlost:
Well he is pretty loyal to Krieg seeing as he stuck with him. Do we honestly think Krieg will show up in the NW? If he had a chance then we would have seen him by now, like how we have seen Buggy from time to time.
Where did this come from?
did you read the arc, he fucking destroyed pearls shield with 1 attack, it's been stated that he was stronger then krieg, who beat luffy… or tied him I guess
stronger than luffy? what?could his blunt attacks even damage luffy?
not being able to hurt luffy doesn't mean he's not stronger than him, the one piece world isn't so simple as because A can beat B and B can beat C, A can obviously beat C
learn what stronger means in a general term, it's like your saying if urouge doesn't have haki at SA that he's weaker than east blue luffy because he can't hurt him with blunt hits…. that's bullshit, he's stronger than luffy the match up just doesn't work out well (although I don't think Luffy would have had the capabilities to hurt him either)
did you read the arc, he fucking destroyed pearls shield with 1 attack, it's been stated that he was stronger then krieg, who beat luffy… or tied him I guess
And Luffy destroyed Krieg's armor with only his hands.
I don't recall them saying that Gin was stronger than Krieg, can you tell in which chapter this happened?

Sanji stronger than Zeff ? Where does this come from ? Maybe it's true but we can't know. And Sanji got pwnd by Gin yes…But after having his bones shattered because he couldn't do anything with Zeff being held in hostage.
And Gin was stronger than Luffy ? Do you have other jokes like that ?
Gin stronger than Krieg? Pah.
http://www.mangareader.net/103-2099-19/one-piece/chapter-46.html
Gin was definitely pretty damn strong for the time, breaking that shield in a single blow and easily defeating an injured Sanji. But he definitely wasn't stronger than Krieg or Luffy, and I'd bet that a Sanji in better shape would've kept up with him just fine. That said, I'm fully expecting him to show up in the NW, and be quite strong even in comparison to the current Strawhats; I get that vibe from him. He said he'd meet them in the Grand Line and has yet to show up - how often does Oda just leave that sort of thing hanging?
@Monkey:

Zeff was known to make dents in iron. Sanji can most likely break steel and managed to damage the PX which is made of a substance stronger than steel. When were his bones shattered? He took a beating from Pearl and got pwned by Gin afterwards. Do you read posts? When did I write Gin was stronger than Luffy? :getlost:

…... so zoro could never be stronger than luffy because he uses swords not fists... really... and it took luffy like 15 hits where it took gin one
and I'm pretty sure after he knock out krieg he talks about how he's always been hiding in his shadow and im plies he's stronger than him that's where
EDIT: maybe I'm wrong that's just the implication I got

About Zeff, we know that he was able to leave footprint in steel, but we don't now if it was his limit (but as I say, maybe now Sanji is stronger than Zeff and I even think so).
For sanji's bones well seeing the damages he took because of pearl, I'm pretty sure that his bones weren't in perfect shape. (his body was so endomaged that he couldn't stand the power of his own attack.
And about gin stronger than luffy, it wasn't adressed to you but to choperman (sorry I should have tell so ^^;;.

Chapter 63, they say some of Sanji's ribs were broken.
…... so zoro could never be stronger than luffy because he uses swords not fists... really... and it took luffy like 15 hits where it took gin one
No, but I thought that it was pretty logical that Krieg's armor was stronger than Pearl's shield.
"Wurts steel" is what Krieg's armor is made up of.
Pearl's epithet was "Iron Wall".
Even besides the fact that Krieg was the captain and Admiral of the pirate fleet, and obviously much stronger than Pearl, it's pretty clear that his armor was a lot tougher than Pearl's shield.

Chapter 48, states he could leave a mark on iron after kicking it. Yeah Sanji's bones took damage from Pearl, but he still lost to Gin. It's like in a game you take damage from minions until you reach the boss, you are worn out but you are still expected to beat him. i don't know, to me Sanji lost to Gin regardless of any prior damage. No probs
No, but I thought that it was pretty logical that Krieg's armor was stronger than Pearl's shield.
Well I was never under the assumption luffy could easily break pearls shield either… I mean sanji couldn't make a dent, obviously he could break it... but completely shatter it with one single simple hit... not something I coould see him doing back then

Sanji was so injured that his own kicks were hurting him to the point where he screamed in pain. You can't expect him to beat an opponent that would probably have been his equal if he had been in tip-top shape in that state.

his defensive capabilites factor into his strength, just like a logias defence factors into their strength. Luffy was faster, had greater range and utility do you honestly think luffy couldn't wreck gin, even though he wrecked arlong who was a load stronger the next arc? Gin only had a slight edge against a heavily weakened sanji, who was himself weaker than luffy by quite a bit, luffy would dominate him even if you don't factor in his defence.

This has gone off what I originally said. Sanji could survive in the New World, most likely. If Gin does show up then it is most likely he has gotten stronger. This was in response to someone writing that Gin would be too weak to survive in the New World
Oh. Well, that's stupid. Gin was pretty much the only one of any of the EB non-arc villains who could hang with the Monster Trio of the Strawhats, Luffy really brought about a change in him and he wanted to meet him again, so I don't think there's any doubt that he'll show up.
Your avatar is so great. It is from the Brand New World opening, right?
That aside, Gin said he was going to follow his dream. I don't think Don would get stronger for many reasons. 1. His main strength was just the weapons he attached to himself. 2. He was older, it seems the older they are, the more set they are in their ways. 3. He thought he was the strongest man in the world.
If you think you are the best, then you will never improve.
4. He thought he was good enough for the Grand line already, another hindrance to his progress.
Gin on the other hand was younger, knew he had a long way to go, and had a dream to achieve. It was also a great moment where he gave Luffy the mask and in turn sacrificed himself.
Here is the most unlikely match up and I hope it never happens. Franky vs Don.
Gin and wiper were both great.
Wiper from Skypiea? Now that is a character we won't see again. He is in the sky.
Although he wasn't a terrible character or anything. But he never said, "See you on the Grand Line."

Skate wavers storm. Skate wavers. He can dash on down to the blue sea and have a cigarette with cricket.

Yep, hoping he does show up, would be pretty cool to see how he is like now. I also hope Krieg met an untimely death.
I hope they don't change the way he looks very much. If he also loses an eye I will be pretty annoyed.
I could imagine Don is still alive. I think he is still doing something really stupid in EB. He built a giant metal ship, as strong as he is. But once in water he realized the ocean just began to make it rust.
The only people that deserved death were Enel and Kuro.

Crocodile probably deserved death too but he's just so cool.

If you're referring to me, I've no idea honestly. I just grabbed it off a quick google search because I thought it was funny and Luffy's my favorite character.
Agreed with your sentiments about Don Krieg. He really doesn't seem like a guy who has any real chance of manning up and admitting that maybe he isn't all that… he'll probably stick around in EB, planning world domination as soon as he figures out the "trick" to surviving in the Grand Line. Speaking of old villains, I would like it if Oda did a "What they're doing now" series of covers with them, giving us a hint as to what they're up to post-timeskip.
Sanji was so injured that his own kicks were hurting him to the point where he screamed in pain. You can't expect him to beat an opponent that would probably have been his equal if he had been in tip-top shape in that state.
And gin was clearly not going all out either, and like I said sanji couldn't put a dent in pearls shield before he was injured, gin broke the thing like it was cardboard

You really didn't read my post at all… learn to read, I wasn't talking about one-on-one battles I clearly stated this, gin didn't have haki no way he was beating luffy, doesn't mean he's not stronger than luffy if you compare him to rest of the grandline
Gin wasn't going all out against sanji cause he didn't want to hurt him, do you read the manga
and learn what I mean by strength
I forgot about him. Crocodile was probably one of my favorite characters,
he was sort of realistic. He was evil, but he didn't use horrible means. Before the war, he did save many of the innocent. Even if it was just to have good reputation.
Even if Gin did want to hurt Sanji, sub consciously he just couldn't go all out.
I agree with Chopperman, he broke the shield like it was nothing. One of those swings to the gut and your organs would literally burst.
Edit: Zoro wouldn't have gotten stronger if he thought he was the best. When he fell to his knees
in the presence of Mihawk for training, he was committed to becoming stronger. Was the Baratie
even able to sail? I don't think it had the ability to move. Don was super intelligent with his idea
of stealing a giant ship that moves as fast as a sloth to sail across the world.
And gin was clearly not going all out either, and like I said sanji couldn't put a dent in pearls shield before he was injured, gin broke the thing like it was cardboard
Gin was refraining from severely hurting Sanji, but that was it, it isn't like he was otherwise going easy on him. It was kind of like Sanji & Califa. We got to see that Gin was clearly superior and could've taken Sanji down but he neglected to deal a finishing blow, allowing Sanji to get some hits in. But it was also implied that the only reason for Sanji's poor performance was him being gravely injured, so the fact remains that you can't really claim Gin > Sanji when they're both in good shape based on their short scuffle.
And yeah, Gin could clearly hit harder than Sanji. That doesn't mean he's overall stronger than him though. Do remember that Sanji only tried to kick Pearl's shield once or twice, as well; there's really no telling how long it'd have lasted if Sanji was allowed to actually fight the guy.
Come on, Gin wasn't > Luffy. Don Krieg caused Gin to scream in pain by grabbing his shoulder. Luffy > Krieg > Gin.
And gin was clearly not going all out either, and like I said sanji couldn't put a dent in pearls shield before he was injured, gin broke the thing like it was cardboard

Steel was underpowered in that arc, the fact that it takes practically gear 2 attacks to as a brute force attack break steel in OP suggests that Oda didn't realise the scaling of damage capabilities at that time. There is no way Gin could break through a tekkai. Also lol at assuming organs in OP would get destroyed by attacks like that, maybe you should have a look at all the damage the characters take on a regular basis rather than hyping one character up based on his exaggerated feats.
luffy vs arlong proves you are wrong as gin would be destroyed by arlong, luffy didn't win against arlong because of his defense but because of his overwhelming damage capability and fighting skills. This is a direct comparison involving the arc directly after. Maybe you should read my post before accusing me of not reading yours.
Gin was going all out until the end when he had a change of heart and decided not to kill as far as I'm concerned.

I don't really even know how to respond to something so idiotic… I mean clearly there's people who could argue my post and make it look dumb... but you did not do this... you clearly don't understand progression in power and seem to think everyone on the same level as they were before "duurr gin could never break a tekkai even though luffy couldn't way back then either and clearly no one but the SH's progress in strength durr"
and no your former post made no comment that was in anyway related to mine
and no gin wasn't going all out READ THE FUCKING WORDS!!! don't just look at the pretty pictures
and we still don't know gins full potential as he never showed it as i've said many times and you've done nothing to prove this wrong at all but saying your opinion
you have no idea about progression in strength, how words are interpreted as sanji himself states that gin is going easy on him and to fight seriously, there's pleanty of ways you could have argued and you missed everyone of them

The reason I brought up tekkai is it used steel as a reference point for it's strength, which was referred to several times as being a material they needed to be able to break. If base luffy couldn't smash steel pre w7 even though he could split the island apart, and perform all the feats of strength on skypeia that he did then the relatively normal gin should not be able to break steel, this feat of strength was short sighted by oda and practically retconned when they made steel the benchmark for their abilities.
The progression in strength before the alabasta arc is minimal at best. and non existent between luffy vs krieg and luffy vs arlong.
I'm not going to respond to you any further as neither of us will change our opinions in all likelihood. Luffy>Arlong>Gin is a clear demonstration of tiers in strength, irrespective of the rock paper scissor dynamics that One Piece OCCASIONALLY demonstrates.
Is Luffy's Pistol stronger than Gin's weapons? What would happen if went all out and landed those weapons on Arlongs head?

Is Luffy's Pistol stronger than Gin's weapons?
Not his Pistol, but his Bazooka? Quite possibly. And his Axe, that destroyed all of Arlong Park in one fell blow and Arlong with it, the same Arlong that had withstood Luffy's attacks really well up until that point? Yes, without a doubt. Gin's weapons are harder, obviously, but I'd say that if Luffy had landed a Bazooka on that shield it would've broken all the same.
