the imagination, fun characters, and interesting story of Jojo's bizarre adventure helps the reader suspend his/her judgement when it comes to some of Araki's fruity poses.
Yeah, Cars looks reeeally gay right there.

@Sea:
I finished part 2. It was a fantastic read.
I heard that part 3 was the best. Is that right?
Part 3 is awesome. And Capcom made a brilliant 2d fighting game out of this part.
For a guy named "Cars" that's one really, really unmanly pose.

The majority think part 4 is the best. It had the most creative powers, best fights and interesting characters. It also had the best villain of the series. Part 3 is a close second though.
Despite part 1 and part 2 looks like Fist Of The North Star, it's awesome what happens in both parts. Jonathan and Joseph are real badasses, especially Joseph, I love his tricks.
I find in Enrico Pucci one of the strongest and most epic villians I've ever seen in any manga. Of course, Dio is above him.
Enrico all but admitted he wanted to ignore what the church drilled into his brain and have the hottest sex he could imagine with Dio.
I mean, my God, "Do you know what gravity is?".

I think you got that backwards, there…
part 3 is jotaro and dio, which is by far the most popular, due to memes and the fighting game
part 4 is also really good, IMO, but I don't think the characters are nearly as well-known.
Part 4 likely would me more well known if the scans weren't so shitty.
Since Onemanga is no longer around, does anyone know where I can read JOJO? I'm currently at part 6 but I introduced my friend to JOJO but he hasnt finished part 1 yet lol. If possible, does anyone know if there are any decent translations for part 4? I had to force myself to read it but I dont know if my friend will do the same. Thanks
I just finished part 3. It was great. When it comes to fighting no manga can top Jojo.
You can read the whole series here:

No I didn't. Part 4 kicks the ass of Part 3. No villain can top Yoshikage Kira.

He wasn't questioning your opinion of the parts, he was questioning your claim that "The Majority" know and like Part 4 more than part 3.
That's not true… at all...
Play Jump Ultimate Stars. They had the ENTIRE series of Jojo, including Part 7 to include characters from. Which part got two actual battle characters? Oh, it wasn't part 4 was it... it was Part 3. Jotaro AND Dio are the only Jojo characters fully playable.
Which of the seven parts got an animated adaptation?... hmmm... lets see, which one was that, certainly if "The Majority" prefer part 4 as you say, THAT would be the one they'd anim- Oh no wait, that was part 3 again. It was animated BEFORE Parts 1 and 2 were even considered, and they only ever animated part 1 due to Araki's 25th anniversary as a manga author.
They've made 3 Video games based solely on Jojo. If "The majority" prefers part 4... CLEARLY one of those games would be part 4 right? RIGHT?!
Parts 3, 1, and 5. Those are the ones that were adapted.
All "Diamond is Unbreakable" has going for it is a book. It got a novel adaptation. That's it.
You can like it more than Stardust Crusaders, there is no problem with that, it's your opinion. But saying "the majority" prefer Part 4 is brazenly wrong. It's like stating that "The Majority" like Naruto more than Dragon Ball.

Eh? Who cares about that stuff. Popularity/=Quality. By that logic, Naruto is a masterpiece. By "majority", I meant the people in this thread since I have read this entire thread (yes all 130 pages) and the general consensus was part 4 was the best for the reasons I mentioned.
I've been looking for somewhere to read this entire series. So far I've only read snippets, but I shall now begin my true adventure.

He`s sure also my favourite villain(maybe the best of all mangas i have read so far), but the story of part 3 is a bit more exiting in my eyes.
While I really like part 3 and 4, for what I have read of part 7 I think its pretty good, if it stays like this it will be my favorite with part 4 behind it.
On that note, does anyone have an explanation as to why we're only now coming upon the Dirty Deeds chapters?
Too much awesomeness in a short time would kill a normal human so we must wait a while before we get a new chapter.
Or people just don't care about JJBA.

And yet they care for manga that are worth shit (cough Naruto cough Bleach cough**cough)
I can only guess based on experience, but probably because Steel Ball Run has tons and tons of double pages. It does that thing One Piece sometimes does where for no clear reason, some bubbles just intersect both pages, except it does it like 45/60 pages. So those need to be joined and aligned right and often partially redrawn. That, and also considering Jojo has some pretty difficult translating, and has a bunch of redrawing stuff when text is over a picture. So every step is really long, plus it's monthly so it takes a very long time to get one chapter done.
That or maybe they're understaffed or something.
Damn, I want to see Valentine in action, but the translations are in a slow pace.
How great is the difference between printed and translated chapters? I remember the last chapter I read in english was the 65th one.

The series is translated by freshy and edited by Shizuka, it's a two-person group. So yeah, things take longer with one person doing all that graphical work by themself. :/

Latest Ultra Jump chapter is 64. There's some weirdness going on with the numbering due to the magazine change, but the scanlations are at volume 17. The latest volume to be released is 22.
…and the latest chapter... damn you Araki. Johnny can not get a fucking break. ._.
…and the latest chapter... damn you Araki. Johnny can not get a fucking break. ._.
Has he reached the point where Funny rips Johnny's head off yet?
No, and that is the only reason I'm not saying that he doesn't have it worse than his original incarnation.
But still… ugh. That shit was just WRONG. >_<

ah, so you meant the consensus of this thread. ok, well, whatever then.
I liked 3 best, personally, because the characters were all solid, and the idea of the stands was so unique, and also because of ORA ORA ORA and MUDA MUDA MUDA. :P
4 was really good as well, but I didn't like how Jotaro showed up only to be almost useless, and how there was a distinct lack of rapid punching, and also I don't like Rohan. he just seems like and asshole. His rock-paper-scissors was incredible, as well as his "fight" against cheap trick, but I kept on wishing it was somebody I actually cared more about.

Well, after what happened to Lucy I think nothing will surprise me. Or is it even more, whatever the adjective?

You said "The majority think part 4 is the best. You never went beyond that. So you mean the majority here, fine, I haven't read all of it, so valid point.
Still just an opinion. That "Who cares about that stuff. Popularity/=Quality." applies to your logic too. Part 4 may be the most popular among Arlong Park, but that doesn't mean it's "The Best".
The best is subjective. I think Part II and III are tied for the best, though I haven't made it all the way through Part V yet. (Long Manga…)
Am I wrong? Nope, s'my opinion. Are you wrong? Nope, s'your opinion.

I actually liked the fact that Jotaro took the back seat, you don't want the main character of the last part to up stage the main character of the current part. Imagine if Joseph up staged Jotaro that would be extremly bad especially in a next generation manga since each new part's main character is the next generation from the same family tree.
I do agree that rohan was an ass hat but you got to admit, heavens gate (was that it?) was an awesome ability, the best side character to Josuke's group was Koichi his stand Echoes is by far one of my all time favorite stands.

From what I've come to understand, the manga volumes number the chapters differently than the chapters in Ultra Jump. The magazine chapters are 25 chapters less than the volume chapters. So the newest chapter out, the issue that came out in October, had chapter 64 (magazine), which is chapter 89 regular (volume). And the last scanlated one is chapter 66 (volume).
Yeah, it's too bad they've got so much work to do between two people. I think it's more or less the same reason why the groups doing good quality scans of parts 4 and 5 rarely get anything done. I'd help if I didn't have my own problems finishing my own projects.
I think you can get a few of the issues on peer 2 peers… And you can usually get the volume scans not too long after they come out, if you want to read the raws (assuming you're not buying them somewhere). I don't think I found the last few though.

well, I meant, what was the point of bringing him back and making him stick around the whole time, only to do nothing? I would've preferred him to either not show up at all, or to only be in one section, and then leave with a very good excuse.
and I didn't like heaven's door, because it felt waaay cheap. he can insta-ko anybody, and then make them do whatever he wants. props to araki for writing great fights for someone with such a broken power.

Well without jotaro heading to that town and introducing the readers to Jonnosuke, the sudden switch would of been weird, it was Hirohiko's way of having the last protagonist introduce the next protagonist. Plus I don't remember jotaro doing all that much. Rohan did get alot of screentime plus Heavens Door as invincible as it was, was absolutely nothing compared to Cheap Trick, if that one alleyway wasn't there, his back would've eventually been exposed and he would have died.

well, yeah, him introducing Josuke as it was worked well. But then he hung around in the back ground, like, you KNEW he was still around, but he didn't do like anything. I think he should've left the story entirely like Koichi did in part 5, or something similar.
still, quibbles really. Both 3 and 4 were great.
What you didn't like rohan kishibe??? I on the contrary liked him alot, didn't you read the dice game with Josuke, hahaha the scene still crancks me up every time I think about it.
You have me confused.
Does for some reason the tankobon content go ahead of the Ultra Jump content?
Sbr started in the weekly jump and when it went to the monthly jump, they restarted numbering the chapters from 0, yeah a stupid thing to do but they did it.
