Luffy has a keen eye for talent. He seeks out the kids with potential. He sips his coffee and says this right off the bat:
"boy ima make you a star"
Would that process look like this?

@Tokoro:
(though I still have some sort of weird theory that she really is an actual little girl and that the Age fruit she has allows for her to appear grown up…)
So BB is a pedo ?
Well, as of this chapter, there goes my Perona supporting. I'm sure there are still a lot of people who say that Moria's survival is irrelevant, but my entire theory was built on his situation:
1st theory (Ch. 472, 524-590) - Perona returning to Moria would be useless plot wise, seeing as it'd just be a character gone missing only to wind up at the exact same location in the exact same situation again. She needs to go somewhere else.
2nd theory (Ch. 591-594) - Moria is presumed dead. Perona needs somewhere to go.
Both of the above are void, as of his survival. The situation has now changed, with him no longer being a Shichibukai, and if Perona were to return to him, it'd no longer be pointless sidetracking. She left while he was a Shichibukai, and returns when he's not.
Still, this does not certainify her returning to Moria, but in my opinion, her chances dropped drastically. I have one other theory, but I think the likelyhood of it occurring is too low to even bring it up.
Any Anti-Perona who says something along the lines of me "having come to my senses", don't even bother. If you read through my previous entries, you'll see that my opinion has not altered one bit. I said nothing more than she has a "chance" back then, and as of Moria's survival, that chance drops, as I've been saying in my arguments from the very start. My opinion has not changed; the situation has.
Exactly, I don't want you to come to your senses.
I just want your dream to crumble before your eyes.
I'm gonna channel Jerk-Disease for a moment.
If anyone who seriously things that Bonney has a chance to join, go in front of a mirror and slap yourself a good dozen times

Unlike Absalom and Hogback, who helped Moria escape Thriller Bark and nursed him back to health, Perona symbolically left the crew when she decided to leave Moria in the lurch and escape on the Sunny (where she's destined to end up).
So it's unlikely Perona will go back to Moria, although as of now she misses the life of luxury and laziness Moria provided for her. But Perona maturing and growing up away from her servants is the whole point of her timsekip experience with Zoro.

So moria, a total piece of shit, wouldn't even take her, but you expect Luffy will?
Luffy: So what happened to your old captain?
Perona: Uhh… last I heard... he died. But it was AFTER I abandoned him.
Luffy: Oh, alright thats cool. Climb aboard.

I never wrote that Moria wouldn't take her back if she showed up at his place and ask him to take her back.
But that's not gonna happen in ay case. Oda didn't send Perona to that island just to have her go back to Moria without having served any purpose on that island.
Anyway, I'm not so sure Luffy would consider leaving some evil grave-robbing psychopath a bad thing.

Oh I concur.
And then Yoda dies.
For all Perona supporter.
Do you think Perona will got any power ups after time skip.?
Maybe some random mandrills will eat her alive off screen when time skip happen.
I don't think "All the" applies anymore.
Perona is so powerful she doesn't need a power up.
Perona is so powerful she doesn't need a power up.
That's why she faints from fake roaches and balloons, amirite? And why Kuma effortlessly punted her whiny spoiledness away?

Kuma effortlessly puni's everybody so that point is moot. And having a phobia doesn't necessarily make a person weak.

So I'm sure that Zoro won't return to Luffy because he was sent away… Perona was sent there because that's exactly where she wanted to be sent to. The fact that we see her there is more of a follow up on that gag. I'm pretty sure Oda Kuma'd her away just to set an example. It would seem much more random for him to pull out that ability conveniently on SA. It was all set up for Kuma.
seems kuma is a genius and must have researched the strawhats.
thus sent them to their perfect locations.
as for perona, she was sent there because she asked, no ulterior motive of wanting her to be a strawhat or anything. kuma knew she was moria's underling there was no mistake of him thinking she was a strawhat due to her being by ship.
he just sent her to a place she asked, there is no him trying to power her up, no him trying to get her to join crew, ect. he just obliged by her wished. prolly surprised him too cause doubt many people answer his question

Maybe he was pranking Mihawk ;)
well my main thing against perona is that she just fits better with so many other crews.
she fits great on moria's crew, would be great on kidd's crew, would be fine being with mihawk.
but she just has this theme about her and that doesn't fit the strawhat theme.
Man idk rly, but tbh after this chapter I kinda like Bonney more than Jinbei/Hancock/Perona , yes I know she suddenly got a hint of a backstory and she has like 0,0000001% chances of joining, but….

Kuma is a fictional character created by Oda.
It's not about why Kuma sent her away (she asked to be sent there, that's not even a plot point) it's about why Oda sent her of all places to the same island that he sent Zoro to.
You believe it's just a gag and other people will believe it would be a waste to have a character like Perona purposefully interact with Zoro for a long time without any sort of plot payoff for either Zoro or Perona or both characters.
That's story telling 101.
Don't worry your veils will be lifted soon.

I understood your phrasing perfectly well. You're still wrong.
Why, gee, Oda made Zoro interact with Perona on an island, she must join the crew! Oda also made Usopp interact with Herackles for the same period of time, he must join the crew! And Haredas! And Ivankov! And one of those revolutionaries! And that reindeer guy!

But Wagomu, Kuma didn't send those others to the islands! Clearly that trivial fact alone means Perona's more important than them and will join!

Now that Moria's back I thought even the most diehard Perona fans had lost hope.
Guess I was wrong.

I don't see why Moria's return would affect the Perona fanboys. She had deserted him back in Thriller Bark, innit? The whole thing about Kuma being a farewell gift for Moria-sama?
A lot of their argument's based on "Perona's got nobody to go to, she's so sad and alone :(. INSTANT NAKAMA!!!!!" So when we point out that she's said that she only wants to go back to Moria(-sama) they either do the equivalent of shutting their ears or blissfully point to the fact he's going to die.
Now they can't even do that.

Didn't the "Perona for nakama" campaign predate the "Moria is dead" one?
Anyway, with Moria's return the argument has (re)turned to "but why was Perona sent to Zoro's island only? suspicious look OMG! Oda wants her to be a Mugiwara!". The campaign lives on.
Yeah but before that when we brought up this [http://haven-reader.net/index.php?mode=view&series=One Piece&chapter=Chapter 524&page=10](http://haven-reader.net/index.php?mode=view&series=One Piece&chapter=Chapter 524&page=10)tried to ignore it.
And I'm fairly sure even AGOG's losing hope now (herr sebbes gone) which means Super Connard is the only big name left.
You're still wrong.
In your opinion.
You'd think that after the "Moria's dead" fiasco, some of you people would be a little more humble. :ninja:
Yes, btw, I also predicted that Moria was alive.
And don't worry I'm sure Perona and Moria will meet again in the NW and that it will be a defining moment for Perona.
But as I've said before Perona symbolically left the crew already. Her moaning about how she wants to go back to Mora-sama is just her missing her previous life of luxury and laziness. Her growing up and maturing is the whole point of her time skip experience.

This chapter should have knocked out the pro-Perona and anti-timeskip camps in one blow. Unfortunately it seems it failed at doing the former. Denial is a powerful thing indeed.
By the way. It's not Moria-sama that Perona misses but Thriller Bark.
And that chapter 524 is of course in keeping with the strawhat pattern. A framed caption of the name of the kingdom followed directly by a panel of a strawhat.
But it's all coincidences, right ? lol
In your opinion.

Unrelated matter. I already conceded it in the spoiler thread and at least that wasn't a story breaking matter.

So? You won a coin flip, big deal.

Because she'll return to Moria.

Perona left Moria because she was endangered… by both the Oars and the SHs. So, if I'm correct, you're saying that Perona would run away from the SHs in order to join the SHs?
Not even death can stop the perotards.
I prefer to call them Peronerds or Peronoids.
owh god even Bonney more chance to join than Perona.
Mutual enemy makes her far more likely to join than Perona ever did PLUS she had an encounter with zoro. it seems having an encounter with zoro greatens the chances of joining SH by 100% Perona cant beat that $#&%$@
I prefer to call them Peronerds or Peronoids.
I thought the politically correct term was Peronophiles…
I just go with my gut. There's also Hancockneys and, now, Bonnheads (their existence is an anomaly, though). I don't have a name for the Jimbei fans, because they don't really cause much trouble.
Peronoids is really good and suited. You made me laugh Wagomu. xD
in my opinion i think that jewel bonney will be one of them as seeing that in this last chapter she was tied up and crying as if she had a strong feeling for her past…it just reminded me of nico and nami (^_^)

How about Jimbeings? Even if it sounds a lor like Jim Beam…
So every character with a bit of drama in their past gogogo SH team?
At raftel the SH will be named the drama bay.
Jimbei hancock moria and even perona. Everyone on board.

And literally whole thirds of any cast ever including this one.
Before long they cross the borders and are starting to Sasuke 4 nakama

Anyway, I'm not so sure Luffy would consider leaving some evil grave-robbing psychopath a bad thing.
Maybe if she left because she had a huge change of heart and didn't want to help a psychopath anymore. But she left because she's a selfish coward with no sense of loyalty. Think about how he reacted to Kuro's men. Even though their captain had just tried to kill them, Luffy still got furious at them for cheering for Kuro's defeat. It doesn't matter what sort of person your captain is - hurting or abandoning nakama is a huge crime in Luffy's eyes
Her growing up and maturing is the whole point of her time skip experience.
Oda hasn't given the slightest indication that she's going to change. Moria spoiled her for 10 years, but her reaction to his death was an exaggerated fake cry and demands for cocoa and service. There hasn't been any hint of depth to her. And there's no other catalyst I can think of for her to change.
You believe it's just a gag and other people will believe it would be a waste to have a character like Perona purposefully interact with Zoro for a long time without any sort of plot payoff for either Zoro or Perona or both characters.
If every interaction with a minor character meant new nakama, the crew would contain at least a hundred people by now. She was sent by Kuma to show his abilities (so the events on SA wouldn't come out of no where.) Her presence there has no more significance than Heracles' or Harada's. And since when did a minor character need plot payoff?
^^
I'll get back to you in a couple of weeks, Mikan. It should be fun.
