The only opening I liked was the one by Asian Kung Fu Generation. And the ED with Sakura and Ino singing about how much they omg lurv Sasuke needs to die.

YES! Amen to that! I agree 100% It's so terrible.
-
@Cap'n:
The only opening I liked was the one by Asian Kung Fu Generation.
That's Haruka Kanata, I think. That one's pretty good. ;p
The ending I hate the most is the one where Naruto is moping around in the grass… wails DOOOOON'T CRRYY, CAAAUSE YOOOORE SO RIIIIGHT angsts
-
I love Rocks, some how it's still my favorite theme, even though it sounds like something from the 80's. I really hope that's the song I hear tonight.
I like all the openings except the third one, and the only ending I really like is Viva Rock.
-
Fighting Dreamers
That's "GO!"
That's my favorite.
When I first heard it, I though the lyrics said "We are fighting fever".
I'll check it out, mostly to hear Raiden as Iruka.

YES. Oh god, I hated that ending theme so much too… Oh god, that was painful.

Well the day has come…. Naruto has hit our shores in anime form, and with proboally one of the best dubs ever. Though I'd had rather it have been One Piece, one of them had to get the supirior dub. I can't wait til the Naruto premere... Too bad we'll proboally never see a good One Piece dub. Sigh... Oh well.
-
My favorites of the Naruto intro themes for the first one have to be the 3rd, the 4th, and the 5th. I go more by the lyrics then how it sounds, though. Maybe that's why I like the 3rd opening, besides the fact that it is very high pitched.
-
I recently saw the trailer for it and I have to say, not the best choice of voices for Naruto, Iruka and Sakura.

I saw the trailer with Naruto and Iruka. Their voices arn't perfect, but at least they don't annoy me like Sanji, Usopp, and Luffy's dub voice did. Iruka's, IMHO, wasn't THAT bad. Naruto's did sound young, but you have to remember he is 12. I just think in general the voice doesn't fit him.
Over all though, better than OP dub. I need to find the trailer with Sakura, though.
-
1/2 hour for me over here.
EDIT: Saw a "Up Next" segment.
They had to boxes for the Naruto time, one being Naruto himself, and the other one being what looked like Kidomaru.
What the hell? Has the Sound Headband, so I assume it's him.

7 mins over here in Chicago.

FIRST BREAK
Theme isn't Rocks….
Hey, Naruto's voice isn't bad...
Shikamaru's is good.
First five minutes and it has a better dub than OP.
EDIT: Raiden isn't bad as Iruka. Now only I could stop laughing because of Quinton Flynn playing him...
-
Everyone's voices sound awesome so far.
The opening was kind of a let down, but I wasn't really dying to hear Rocks anyway.
-
Everyone has pretty damn good voices. The music's just about right (note that I haven't seen the original). I'm especially fond of Iruka. (Edit: And Mizuki, too.)
Looks like I found a new reason to enjoy Saturdays. If only One Piece could do that for me… >.> <.< =/
-
The voices are pretty good. The best so far are Shikamaru's and Ino's.
-
SECOND BREAK.
Mizuki doesn't seem deep enough.
Alot of Japanese words kept, "Shinobi, Jutsu, Sensei" and the writing on the Ramen stand remains.
-
Ah, seems like Naruto will be getting a very kind dub. By the way, anyone else notice that the announcer pronounces the name differently?
-
(I havn't seen the dub yet, I'm im mountain time, so it will be an hour or two. Right now Zatch Bell is on)
I think it's a good think they moved toonami to saturdays and added miguzi. I think that the dub won't have many cuts because of this.
Miguzi = younger children (9-13?)
Toonami = teens (14-16)
Adult Swim = Late Teens and up (16+)I think it is a good sign on CN's behalf, anyways. Now hopfully we'll get anime with less cuts on Toonami, apart from when it was shown every night. I think it is ment that way too, because it blends right into adult swim. 14 year olds are less likley to go around shooting people or smoking after watching a cartoon? xD Honestly though, I can see a 6 year old taking one of gramp's cigaretts and messing around after watching someone smoke on a cartoon, and I'm sure it happens. That's why I'm glad toonami moved to a later time on Saturday, so they could cut less.
Anyways, I really hope the dub is good. Maybe then I'll even buy the DVDs. (which will be great, because my computer is running out of download space, and I don't have a DVD write drive)
-
I'm surprised how decent it seeming to be. I also can't believe they showed blood, its almost as if they are rubbing in our faces how bad One Piece is.
-
Mizuki sounds fine to me.
So far Iruka seems like the best voice, but he's probably the one we've heard most other than Naruto. Naruto's pretty good too.
Argh, too many commercial breaks. Damn Toonami. At least I can take a leak and get a snack!
-
Third break.
Looks like Quinton Flynn can act, and there were blood stains kept on Iruka.
EDIT: There's that Kidomaru again…
-
Wow, I'm very impressed. The woman who voices Naruto, who didn't have any previous experience in anime as far as I can tell, can sound pretty good and series in a fighting scene.
-
I'm loving it so far. Especially Naruto's "I'll kill you."
On its own merits, and when compared to the other dubs I've seen, Naruto is great. I just wish the manga was a bit… more expedient. =/
-
I am realizing a bunch of stuff that we haven't seen since. Like the little globe the 3rd was looking into and these ninja IDs.
-
Konohamaru and Ebisu sound awesome. Especially Ebisu, he sounds like a stuck up goof.
..yep..
-
Did anyone else laugh at the way he said "Konohamaru" in the title?
-
I wasn't paying attention. What was funny?
-
I wasn't paying attention. What was funny?
It might be just me, but the pronouncation made me laugh for some reason.
They kept them shopping for porn.
High hopes for this dub.
-
Ebisu Voice is GREAT!!!!! So far am liking the voices, sure at time they sound bad but I think of it this way, Most Dub anime voice (for example Inuyasha) suck at the start but once the voices actors get more use to the characters their voices get better. Also I like that they keep most of the BGMs in it, I don't care about the OP and the ED since I could just DL them, but overall am liking it.
-
Yes, I was pleasantly surprised at the porn being left in. So far there's so litte being cut that I'm wondering why the hell this can't be on Adult Swim. Then again, it does seem a little "juvenile" (don't take this statement the wrong way!)
The pronounciations do sound a bit weird, but it's better than being overly flat (if you get what I mean).
-
Well, here come my two cents.
Good Points
Original Music
Voices ranging from good to GREAT
Alot of stuff kept it that was unexpected (Buying porn, ect.)Bad Points
No Rock Lee
-
Soooo where can I hit up a torrent of this?
-
@Battle:
Soooo where can I hit up a torrent of this?
Thats what I want to know..
YTV is getting the first episode of this on monday, but I want to see both.. NOW XD >__>; -
Man that was pretty good. The only edit i could tell was no erupting nosebleeds XD heheh Ebisu is voiced by Eric Stuart me thinks XP
-
I was very surprised, alot was left unaltered such as the revealing Sexy Jutsu and them looking at binkini mags but one thing that bugs me, it is rated TV-PG despite its TV-Y7.
And also i've always prenounced Naruto with a silent r, guess i've been prenouncing it wrong.
-
@EvilGamerX:
I am realizing a bunch of stuff that we haven't seen since. Like the little globe the 3rd was looking into and these ninja IDs.
Well, I'm sure I've seen Tsunade used it once or twice. Unless I imagined it or something..
-
I was so impressed by the dub! But, I was laughing so hard at how stupid the intro was. By the way, I think they added some background music. I might be wrong, though. Was it completely uncut? Aside from what might be true, this is what I call a dub!
-
I noticed the nosebleed thing as well. But for some reason, it seems a bit more humorous for them to just fly back for no reason.
-
The intro and endings..I mean…BLAH!!! It was sad....I don't even consider its new opening theme a song.
-
Thank the fucking lord, it was decent.
Pros
- All names are kept.
- They got the technique names right.
- Some pretty good voices.
- Fucking Sexy no Jutsu is actually naked, I almost died.
Cons
- Shitty Opening
- Some bad pronounciations.
- A few bad voices.
That's it, I'd give it an 8/10, it's pretty good, but could be oh so much better.
-
why oh why couldnt one piece have a great dub like this. oh why. i really liked the bgm in the dub, i havent seen too much of the orginal it was cool. really liked the gutiar solo. also heard kakashis voice for like 2 senconds when they go to a commerical or come back. it was ok, tho i do think blum would have made it better
-
@Hyper:
Man that was pretty good. The only edit i could tell was no erupting nosebleeds XD heheh Ebisu is voiced by Eric Stuart me thinks XP
Well if it was, his voice would suck then. It was Crispen Freeman.
-
I'm still shocked about them not altering Sexy no Jutsu, I mean right when the one in the second episode happens you see half of the brest nude and I was extremely shocked, heh heh bet tons of kids are waking up there parents asking questions XD!!
-
Well if it was, his voice would suck then. It was Crispen Freeman.
Oh wow really? His voice sounded vaguely like james XD
-
Personally I think Naruto's voice actor needs to show more emotion. I felt nothing listening to her.
-
I can't understand why they didn't keep 'Wind' as the dub ED. Just dump the engrish vocalist & tinker with some of the lyrics to make it a little more coherent and BAM. Heck! They could've just made it completely instrumental and it would still work.
-
It was pretty awesome. It was nearly uncut, except some blood. And the only music edit I noticed was at the beginning of episode 1, when Rocks originally played, they had some different music. Overall, I love this dub.
-
I don't mind the opening/ending that much, really. I'm mostly disappointed that the original sequence can't be left in.
