You have now.
Lol at the captions on the Cards.
Naruto- "No matter what it takes, I will be the Hokage."
Sasuke- "Humph"
Perfectly captures Sasuke.

Yeah, i dont know why they translated shigan but didnt translate juujika, Viz is weird like that. I really hope they dont directly translate all the rokushiki moves

I think they may try to translate as many of the abilities as possible:
Shigan - Finger Pistol (obviously, now)
Rankyaku - Storm Leg (probably)
Geppou - Moon Step (probably)
Tekkai - Iron Mass (uncertain)
Kami-e - Paper Drawing (probably not)
Soru - Shave (probably not)
Those are my guesses.

I agree with Rankyaku (though they could go and call it storm foot)
Im thinking Geppou will be Moon Walk
Tekkai- Iron Wall
Kami-e- I'm thinking Origami
Soru should and probably will be Shave.
But, I guess we'll find out when the March volumes come out.

Those are interesting.
I was thinking more along the lines of Tekkai, Kami-e, and Soru being left in native Japanese. But it probably won't happen.
loving the way they did this, makes me wanna by a volume or two, does anyone know any book stores that sell OP in london?
Unlimited Adventure called Kami-e Sketch Form. Maybe something like that?
Unlimited Adventure called Kami-e Sketch Form. Maybe something like that?
Plausible. Odd translation but I guess it would sound alright.
But Viz has the reigns here so they can pretty much use their own translation without checking into any of the other mediums.
Has anyone gotten their February volumes from Rightstuf yet? It's almost March, and not even a "We're working on it" email…
February volumes should have shipped out in late January. Most people who ordered from rightstuf got them. However there was a problem with volume 32 (now resolved), but that didn't stop them from sending out the other four volumes.
Hmm… It says 'More arriving soon' for the status on Volume 29, so I suppose they're just waiting on more copies.
So why is it:
Tweet Tweet, Diggy Diggy and Mutt Mutt. But Cat Cat remains the same?
Wow that was a weird sentence.
Because Tweet Tweet, Diggy Diggy, and Mutt Mutt are on the Big Bad List. Cat Cat, being from a part of the story that 4Kids never got remotely close to, is not.
What were you expecting? Kitty Kitty?
Feline Feline?
Yeah, those artwork edits won't stay for the actual volume release. They edited Miss Double Finger and Nami in the magazine before (and Rangiku in Bleach), but left them all unedited in the volumes.
As for those people who reviewed vol. 31 and 32…they're really terrible at reviews in general. They gave the RuroKen OVA higher reviews than the actual RuroKen manga, stating that Kenshin's demeanor is annoying in the manga.
They reviewed volume 34 now too (6/10):

SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T YET READ 20TH CENTURY BOYS
In volume 2 review of 20th Century Boys, they complain that the mystery of Donkey's death and the mystery of why Kiriko left Kanna with Kenji have already been resolved and that the mystery should've been more slow burning, but the truth behind the story - that it's all just the work of some guy named Friend - has been revealed too quickly. They also comple that the story isn't dark enough…gave 20th CB a 6/10 review
Volume 4 got a 7/10 review...they complain that there is no strong female lead character at the risk of sounding like an extreme feminist (guess they don't realize that Kanna is the lead character for a longer period of time than Kenji is). They also say it's generally a cliche series =/
They reviewed volume 34 now too (6/10):

Wow, first they start in the middle of a damn arc, and complain about it, read vol 32, complain some more and then say that they're confused. [hide] [/hide]
Then, they completely skip Volume 33. Go on to review Vol. 34, and naturally complain about it. How the plot seems to have little direction. Then they talk about how much they want to know about Nico Robin (In the saga basically about her, Isn't that a coincidence) and how they hate the rest of the crew (I'm guessing because none of the 7 are emo?)
Anyways, Awesome review system they got there.
this question is for anyone that has the april issue of shonen jump: how many chapters did we get this month ? was it 4 like it's been the last few months ?
also, has anyone gotten the march volumes yet ?

Chapter 537-540. Four, again.
EDIT: Although I will tip my hat to that guys that translate and distribute Fairy Tail. Holy shit is that an awesome job their doing!
Del Rey's amazing. <3
@Mikey:
Anyway, I noticed an ad for the Naruto CCG at the beginning of the magazine… why the fuck are Sasuke and Naruto dressed up like high school students? Why does it look like DA fanart? Why is this shit even LEGIT?

I don't usually post here much but this has to be said. " You also realize that there doesn't seem to be any larger purpose or direction to this series at all." (http://www.sequentialtart.com/reports.php?ID=7140&issue=2010-02-22)
RAHHHH!
What kind of moron picks up an installment in the 30's of a serial story and thinks they can describe the momentum/direction of the story with any credibility whatsoever.
Would have been nice if we could leave them a few friendly comments

Geppou and Kami-e were translated like that in german version . Tekkai was Iron Shield (Eisen Panzer).
Than
Shigan - Finger Pistol (Finger Pistole)
Rankyaku - Storm Kick (Sturm Kick)
Soru - Shave (Rasur)
Funny how people here were complaining back then. If fans are translating them like this, then they can't be that off… Nice to see people here not complaining if Viz translates them like that.
Those intervies are really bad. Are those people getting paid? If they are, they should be fired, because the reviews are bad, regardless of what the final opinion is.
The volume 25 review is worse, simply because it doesn't say anything!
http://www.sequentialtart.com/reports.php?ID=6998&issue=2010-02-22
There's no mention of why they think it's good or bad, it's just an incredibly vague and undetailed plot summary!
Sounds like a comment appropriate fro Amazon.

At least it was better than the other reviewers complaining about how she don't understand what the hell is going on with the plot in the manga even though she clearly made a point she just skipped the volume and doesn't bother to read it in sequential order to get the plot progression and development. The reviewers for Vol 25 was rate it 7 (above average), the other reviews rate One Piece 5-6 (average).
I read the reviews on 20th Century Boys Vol 7 and the reviewers said
"I last read Volume 4, and I was able to pick up Volume 7 without any sense of dislocation. I know I missed lots of good stuff, but since this book is telling me stuff I (as reader) would not have been privy to until now, it neither repeats itself too much nor gives the reader the sense of being lost.".
Goes to show you all these reviewers has never been bother to read every manga they reviewed in sequential volume to understood the story. They just believed they can just jump in and then complaints and make a conclusion about how the story doesn't makes any sense, hectic, no direction whatsoever etc etc. Someone needs to teach them how to make a proper reviews for a serialized work. Most of the stuff they reviewed are not one shot that can be skipped because it needs to be read in the right order to get the overall scale of author's skill in developmental area.
I really hope they doesn't get paid for their reviews and more importantly, I hope their reviews doesn't have a mass followers that will believe everything they said in their reviews.
Where are the details? Holy shit, it's like a third grade book report. 'They run into weird objects and people. The end."
I think maybe there was a second, or rather, third story going on in this book — the chapter title pages had single panels about something. Possibly about having coffee with the navy.
I didn't understand most of the plot set in Skypeia
Didn't your mothers tell you that starting a series halfway through the story is fucking moronic?
All of the chapter titles in these volumes have Wapol's name in them. I admit that maybe this is some inside joke that I'm missing out on,but Wapol isn't even in the story. This is just an element that adds to the wackyness of the saga.
My friends, the very definition of "lolwut?"
All to gain fortune, berries, gold, and a chance to be one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea!
I think I have never facepalmed this much so far in my life.

Those are good except for Iron Mass. I feel that "Iron Hide" would be more appropriate.
Also, I received my copy of the latest Jump in the mail. When the guy-who-attacks-Ivan is transformed into a woman, he suddenly has a top.
Now I know (and vaguely understand) the necessity of censoring some things, but for continuity's sake, they could at least have given this guy a shirt when he came in. Emporio Estrogen apparently creates shirts from your DNA.
I'd like it more if they'll just leave it as "female hormones" in the volumes.
@the website says:
You also realize that there doesn't seem to be any larger purpose or direction to this series at all.
LOL .

Hello. Estrogen is a female hormone.
Today I got a nice surprise from Rightstuf. Not only were my February volumes shipped out, they also included the March volumes too! It should be here within a week or too.
Hello. Estrogen is a female hormone.
I know that, I'm just saying I like the sound of "Emporio Female Hormone" better than "Emporio Estrogen".
I know that, I'm just saying I like the sound of "Emporio Female Hormone" better than "Emporio Estrogen".
I rather like "Emporio Estrogen." It's short, sweet, and correct.
I was thinking today, the fact that we even got bad reviews is just proof that one piece is gaining popularity here in the states. I mean, if not then why give it a bad review at all. It's like I always say, "You know you're awesome when you have haters!"
On an unrelated note:
Viz's site has been updated with skypiea part 6.
http://onepiece.viz.com/sagas/skypiea/6/
Something funny is that in the description, they call Laki "Laki" while in their manga, they call her "Raki".
Also realized that the descriptions now have a section for anime episodes. (In the bottom right) Maybe a hint that Funimation is planning to speed up their releases as well? It's already beeen speculate that Funi is in at least the middle of Season 4. And there was a post on Viz's twitter saying how they talked to funimation recently and that "exciting things are afoot." [/conspiracy theory]

Well, they're both good, so I don't really care what they use.
What's with translators always swapping L's and R's? So there is only R in japanese, but it's not difficult to find out what the name really is. ><"
Apparently it IS hard to find out.

More then likely Viz just gave each of these people random review copies.
Okay, so volumes 34 and 35 are "Reserved For Your Order" on RightStuf. I should get them tomorrow.
I wonder how long I'll have to wait for 36, 37 and 38 though. >_>
Went to Borders today.
They had 10 copies of volume 37.
No 34, 35, 36, or 38.
shrug
Shigan - Finger Pistol
Rankyaku - Tempest Kick
Geppou - Moonwalk
Tekkai - Iron Body
Kami-e - Paper Art
Soru - Shave
Stupidberg
"Do it with a "boom"!!"
"Men should puff out their chests with pride and a boom!!!… over the ships they build!!!"
i just found out that my local books a million has the march volumes so i'm gonna go pick em up tomorrow, that & the april shonen jump.
Rankyaku names sound good. "Tempest Kick" came out better than expected.
Those terms and stuff look fine so far. And I'm even going to refrain from making the obvious joke here.
I'm not gonna get to the bookstore for another two weeks or so because of school….
man it'll be cool walking in and buying 10 volumes of One Piece XD
and a little weird...never bought that much manga at the bookstore at one time lol

Gah, Iron Hide would have sounded neat. Oh well, body works too.
And I was really hoping to hear Jerkberg. Stupidberg sounds forced. Oh well, it still pisses off Iceberg XD
my sis thought it would be stupidberg xDD
Nice to see the six skills translated. Boom would have been better if the sfx had read that way, but there we go.
