New characters revealed: Hakan, Dudley, Ibuki, Makoto, Juri, Cody, Guy, Adon, T. Hawk and Dee Jay.

The game is stated to take place a year after SF4 and it is another tournament. In SF4, Abel was the main character as far as story elements go, whereas in SSF4, it's Juri.

Gameplay changes expected to stay by final build-
Rose and ChunLi got better
Dan got a little better
Zangief, Ryu, Rufus and Sagat got nerfed, but I think they'll still be good
Guile's Flash Kick, FADC, Put on sunglasses is the new hotness

Lol, the spinning in the title a reference to Akuma's new Ultra? At least it's better then the Raging Demon, never saw anyone pull that off on someone else. I like seeing Guy, Adon and Dee Jay added to the mix. I'm wondering about this new "Rival Dialouge", I saw that Rufus and Dee Jay have a rivalry? At the moment that seems pretty stupid, like Rufus.

I like seeing Guy, Adon and Dee Jay added to the mix. I'm wondering about this new "Rival Dialouge", I saw that Rufus and Dee Jay have a rivalry? At the moment that seems pretty stupid, like Rufus.

From what I heard each character will now have 2 rival fights; one of them being a secret one IIRC.

I hope Cody has been improved, I didn't like using him in his previous installment, same goes with T.Hawk, though nobody i knew ever used him.
Digging the new ultras, they look nice.

I dunno about Final Fight Revenge, but he was OK in Zero 3…or was that just V-Cody since he had a dodge move in V-ISM?

Ah well so far Cody seems fine, but hopefully he'll get better by the final build.
Cody's knife does block/chip damage but it can't nullify projectiles if it is thrown at them.:ninja:

I'm using the TE Stick Marvel vs Capcom 2 ver. Gonna mod it with black/red sanwa buttons and ball and the art to Bayonetta :D

They played from what I read the final build of it and have been asked to leave the room since they didn't want them to see the final select screen. So they can't confirm or disprove whats new in the game,

Sadly I've used the Xbox 360 controller which I find terrible for fighting games but my buddy has two SF fight pads and those work way better. The best for me though is a PS controller.

It's really just personal preference. I grew up playing Street Fighter at the arcade so I can't play 100% on pad only can pull off about 80% of what I know on a PlayStaion controller.

I like Seth's new Ultra, plus from what I heard, during the CES event, they found a pretty good combo using it.
FURTHERMORE, seeing how his Ultra I can be avoided by some characters in the air (Dhalsim and Dan for example), this one will have a better chance at hitting them in the air.

What did the motion for Dictator's new ultra look like from that vid? I've read some saying it was input like Guile and Claw's Ultra…
Also what does he say during his Ultra?

The Naky blog over at the SSF4 site states of an announcement on the 26th, but I would strongly suggest not getting your hopes up...

About Guy's Ultra II- Yup a short music clip plays during it.

Hmm it seems Dan's Ultra II loses hits the farther it travels, because I could've sworn it did 6 hits during the CES event.

It starts as a low slide, so I guess you could block it by crouching? On the other hand this means that Fuerte won't be hit by standing attacks, and if it goes under projectiles, all the better =D

Didn't Rolento throw a knife/ kunai too? I'd prefer Ibuki, but Rolento fits with the whole Final Fight gang.

I'm not very versed with SF universe but that was definitely what we know as a kunai and Rolento uses more traditional military knife.

I would really like Rolento. He doesn't play fair.

But Ibuki, Dudley, Makoto and this Hakam seems pretty much confirmed by now. It feels like worst kept secret ever, really . I think even Seth Killian, that community manager dude, said in some of those recent videos if you read Internet then you know who are yet to be revealed. Or something like that.

Who knows, since this is Street Fighter they might yet make another edition of the game with Rolento.

If they make such a game and we indeed get those characters above then perhaps we get again two brand new characters plus 2 FF, 2 Alpha and 2 SFIII characters… Rolento, Hugo, Karin, R.Mika, Q and Alex.

I think those would be the most recognized SF characters from all walks of SF yet to be in this game. Hugo might be too tall, tho. Yang and Yun instead of Hugo and Alex could do too.

I tried to play SF4 with my computer but its impossible because I only have keyboard/mouse and my old Sidewinder controller dont go to this computer.

Well its a great game but it requires atleast gamepad, for an example its almost impossible to do Ryo's hadouken.

Hadouken can be fired occasionaly in test mode but in real fight its really useless because its so luck based.

Shouruouken is very easy to execute and it can be dependet. I think if I should get Street fighter 4 for my PC I need to get atleast good controller.

Yeah, thats pretty much what Ono said himself.

Now I know someone pointed this out in the other SFIV thread, but with regards to Cody and Vega, I guess Cody's knife doesn't have that imposing of a range and Vega claw is more or a punch extension, so they work out a little better than Rolento's billy club. Or maybe its just more difficult to animate in SFIV's visual style. I dunno…..

What might have been seen said at some point might not simply apply anymore. Like Final Fight chacters were a no-no and so were selectable arts. But here we are with Cody and Guy and with selectable Ultras. And, yeah, both Vega and Cody do it with weapons too.

I'm sure if people want Rolento enough and Capcom decides to give SFIV yet another spin then Rolento will be a potential contender.

Nah Rolento threw knives not kunais. However, you need to notice how there are 3 characters from the SF3 and SF Alpha games, Rolento could've taken Adon's place though.

The thing about Rolento is that he is very his mobile, his knife attacks would just be like aerial projectiles though so I don't see what's so difficult about that.
Then again he does have his baton/stick which would give him a long range normal, but even then I don't think it'd be too much of a hassle what with the Focus Attack.
Then again, maybe attacking the stick would result in Rolento himself being damaged?

Rolento might be a little overpowered within SF4's fighting system, that's the thing. He already had crazy range with his weapon, the ability to throw knives, a super that grabbed from full-screen (by pulling on a long string of piano wire), many multi-hit attacks, and leapt around the screen even more than Vega does (god knows he does when I use him). With SF4's character model size, game mechanics, etc. he'd have to be toned down considerably to be fair and viable.

The anime will be a 360 exclusive about Juri (if PS3 gets Hakan, then that'd be cool)

– Release date will be April 28, 4,990 yen (about $50) for both PS3 and 360

-- You get the classic pack of alts for Guile, Blanka, Dhalsim, Gen, and Fei which can be DL'ed free of charge (after July 1st, you'll have to buy it)

-- Juri anime exclusive to the 360 (Japan only). Preview the anime on the official site.

– Collectors package to be sold, including a CD with the character's BGM, all promotional videos and trailers, character art, and a mini story for SSFIV. Will be sold for 5,990 yen (about $60)

– Will be a playable version at the national tournament (April 4th) with all characters available.

– New preview trailer also released.

– She notes that this update doesn't include any info about new characters, and asks everyone to please wait just a little bit more.

EDIT4: More on Cody smashing the wall; it could be a reference to Joe from SF1; originally Joe was going to be the main character of Final Fight, but his design was redone or some such and we got Cody. So Cody could be 'poking a jab' at SF1 from his clip in the trailer XD

Those videos look cool, but why do the Ultras seem to do such little damage? I do think the Ultras needed to be lowered a bit, but that seems a bit much.

The gameplay looks a good deal faster than SFIV, so that seems good.

That's damage scaling. In SF4 the more hits you do the less each attack becomes.

Do you mean in the clips or in the game in general?
Ultras tend to get severe damage scaling in long combos or if preceded by a Focus Attack.

Oh. I only really combo into Ryu or Gouken's Ultra, and that's just tiny set-up. I mostly land Ultras as a last-ditch effort counter, so I never noticed the damage scaling.

Usually in combos that involve Ultras, the maximum damage you get is at most, 100 points of damage more than an Ultras full damage.

WTH. Why do not they add Karin. She has to be one of the funniest SF characters ever. She has an interesting background and a lot of depth.

Ibuki and Makoto pale in personality, story and originality. They are cute but nothing extremely memorable.

I'm with you on the stupidity of Akuma's 2nd Ultra, though. A lot of the bonus Ultras are pretty lame, but some of them are awesome enough to make me forgive them (Balrog).
