there will be a meteor shower on sunday night / monday morning (article said prime time is august 12-13, from 1am-5am). visible from all over united states. for best effect, try to find a large open field that's pretty distant from city lights. they said that the shower should be bright enough that you don't need to be in a very dark place, but the darker, the better.
also, lunar eclipse august 28.

for those too lazy to read, article also mentioned there will be about 100 flashes per hour during this prime time. so for those of you who have the tendency to stay up late doing nothing, tonight would be the best time for you to step out of your house and stare at the sky for a few hours.
