well, I guess overall the fights are a bit sub-par when it comes to tactics and stuff… but the hits are drawn so epically, you can almost FEEL THE IMPACT. IT IS LITERALLY SO GOOD.

I love Toriko. The eighties macho style art and the food quests are good; especially the idea of the perfect menu. I do like my food manga, but there's not enough available in English. Hopefully someone will translate Iron Wok Jan R one of these days.

The straw guy's design is really awesome. I've loved Toriko from the start but right now it's easily the most interesting shonen going on cuz OP has been really boring for 2 or 3 weeks, Bleach is still in Namek, Naruto is still written by Kishimoto and Ippo's story doesn't proceed at all with a new chapter released every other month. I really hope the quality keeps up.

this isn't the type of manga that will fuck up. it's been consistently amazing for 60+ chapters now and it would be VERY hard to fuck up. the plot is actually rather simplistic and it would take a lot of effort for it to make a turn for the worse.

not saying that it's going to happen to this series, honestly I think this series is awesome alot better than psyren (that got boring for me after 4 chapters) but i'm not gonna call in the best series ever since it still has a long ways to go.

i never said it was the best series ever… it's not even my personal favorite series. you said it might jump the shark at some point. I know this is a rather baseless thing to say, but just trust me... Toriko won't jump the shark.

Anyway, a lot of the Bishokukai's designs are pretty bland, but that's okay. Only 2 vice-chefs, eh? So I guess Grinpatch is probably the 3rd stronger Bishokukai. It's pretty cool to finally see the Bishokukai.

I especially like Jerryboy, Bogiuz and -of course- Grinpatch. I wonder why that bearded muscly guy didn't get a name in this chapter.

rly good chara-designs...loved the wood-guy i believe...the one who has a cephalopode or something likle that on his head hehe

but i agree with GM, that this series sure has great potential...(so far 5-6 best series with still great potential) but it rly has still a long walk to go, before it could be called a great constant series...

Tommyrod and Elg are the two that didn't show up. Assumably Elg is the branch head of the 1st branch and Tommyrod is the third Vice Head Chef, since Yuu adds -sama to his name.

And it's Kuromado, not mada.

The viking guy is probably the 5th Branch head, since that's the only one left, assuming there ARE only 6.

And I'll say again, you're better off reading Sugoi Scan's scanlations. MaP scans a couple times has been using translations from someone else who's doing a very poor job. Like 2/3 of the lines had translation errors… big ones. I've been trying to contact the person and tell them that, saying they're not ready to do translations.

I just said thise "Bogie Woods" is a poor translation by that person who's been doing Map Scans translations a couple times. Besides making a million translation errors they also made all the characters names two words and often stuff they couldn't be romanized as.
So it's not "Bogie Woods" it's "Bogiuz". See how different it is… It's because the first romanization you can't even get from the original.

I think the designs are all pretty decent except Yuu, Stayyjun and Kuromada. Yuu looks extremely familiar and a bit generic. Stayyjun reminds me of Kevin Mask a lot, but he still seems a little bland for such a strong villain. Kuromada looks a little bit bland too. I'm hoping sometime during the series he tears out of his skin or something and reveals he's some sort of fucked up demon (that's the first thing I thought when I saw those eyes). Perhaps the same thing will happen to Yuu.

That was the least of the errors honestly. I'm really trying to either get that person to stop translating Toriko and try something easier or get MaP to not use their translations. I wrote a huge explanation about it to the translator. Since I've spent so much time translating this series I don't want poor translations to get out and screw everyone up…
The literal romanization for that guy's nameis "Bogiiuzzu". "Woods" is katakanized "uzzu" which is where he got that. It's all one word though, one name. So that doesn't really make sense, it's supposed to blend into the previous vowel. There's a rule that if a word starts with "u" you can romanize it "wu" or "wo" but it's not the beginning of a name...

Anyway, leave that to me. Here's a list of the Bishokukai members, I was able to figure out the whole thing.
Two Vice Captains weren't there, (until Grinpatch showed up) also Elg from the first branch wasn't there and the viking looking guy wasn't named, so you could figure it all out based on what Yuu said describing who wasn't there.

I liked the Ginger machines that were designed to erase your taste pallet. THat would be amazing to have at food fairs.

Setsu does look like she's got a few moves up her sleeves. I assume she could be a knocking master or something of the like. Her cane seems like it could be used for that. The "ninjas" looked like they had been struck and later affected (the veins forming on his face looked painful).

The imagination put into this chapter was very refreshing. This series not only has amazing monster designs… but the whole concept of a "cuisine" world is very well pulled off! Plus it always makes me hungry as hell!

Can't wait to see this manga animated.

is it just me or does this manga seem homoerotic? I am still reading it so I don't know what that says about me but lets look at objectively. 99% of the story has nothing but men. Most of the time these men are hanging around each other they are shown really really really enjoying their food. Maybe having one fine chick in the series might change my mind but right now it seems very homoerotic. Not that that's a bad thing, ever manga needs to fill a need.

The anime OVAs of Jumps Super Anime Tour come out on the 13th. So I dunno if they'll do some online thing at some point, but from what I gather they show the OVAs in different parts of Japan. So maybe we won't see anything until after that… Last year they put the episodes up online and people ripped them like with the One Piece Romance Dawn thing.
