Oh shit. I forgot to mention my pants dyed the wrong color yet again =_=;; can't seem to get a blue dye that is BLUE BLUE BLUE BLUE BLUE. I thought.. 'Fuck, Indigo is REALLY DARK, it should turn my pants DARK blue, Right? RIGHT???'

They are sorta jean material. First I dyed them light blue, but the color came out PERFECT..just..THE WRONG COLOR. Then I dyed them with an Indigo blue dye. I figured, they're already light blue, it SHOULD dye them darker than what the box says..yet..somehow my thinking did not work. Both colors look just how they look on the box sadly, so they worked beautifully, just not right for the purpose I had in mind ==;; Damn blue Mouji pants, damn you Mouji DX!! I actually found some REALLY dark blue beautiful pants I could of used. Sadly with like every single other pair of pants in the world, they fit FAR too well to my legs with NO give ==;; I don't want to wear tight tight tight pants as Mouji, he's not trying to wear hot pants xD LOL

Oh man, I think I texted/facebook griped about my sewing machine way too much today.
It was FAAAAAIILLL. We had a hard time putting on the zipper foot so I could sew on the zipper to the vest and when we got it on, you couldn't lift the foot piece to put the fabric under it and I tried something else which resulted in the needle breaking =_= On top of being a pain to sew on most fabrics properly (so far its only done right on this fleece, most other things it hates, especially satin). So I sure hope I can sew on the zipper with the regular foot (I spent forever getting the zipper pinned like 5 times so it would be ready to sew easy I didn't feel like sewing it tonight XP) without problem… DX So annoying. Even my grandma cursed it, so after the con I'll go get a new one.
So needless to say if I can't find a dress tomorrow, Ponyo is not happening because there is NO WAY I can do all of that in one day, with what I have left to do for Kaku.
So atleast Kaku will be done (and even if I get a dress I wont have the bloomers but, it will work for now <_< )
If I get a new machine after the con I'll sew the ponyo dress and bloomers and take pictures, though I won't have anywhere to wear it for awhile XD
And after this con I will get new swords for Kaku, because even after sanding and redoing twice, the swords are still really bad =X They'll work for now though (well they HAVE to, con is Friday XD)

Well, the part that WASN'T my fault is there were some chips in the handles that were covered by this ribbon stuff that they put on it =X But that's not too noticable now.
The problem is in the metallic paint. I used the Rustoleum paint and it just failed =X Even with sanding, and even with primer, though for one of the swords even after sanding it still showed some of the blemishes of my first attempt. So up close it looks really blah. I tried not to overpaint but that didn't make a difference. The paint woudl glob up and run horribly and just looks bad.
I think it may be the paint. It most likely is.
I used Krylon for the handle and the primer, and THAT looked fine. I got the Metallic (or supposedly) paint from them and tried it but it was not really metallic, it comes out looking like gray and sort of glittery rather then metallic. It also had a lot of texture so it didn't look anything like a real sword.
The Rustoleum paint is metallic looking and reflective but it does not approve of wood I guess. I wonder if there is another metallic paint out there…

Arei, i would suggest just using silver acrylic paint, rather then trying to find one of the spray variety. It'll probably be easier and you won't have to do it outside, and if you try hard enough you don't even see the brush strokes
I have the worst luck with spray paint and they're always so finicky with the surfaces you use them on :\

Marimo..I have a question for you o__o Where did you get your wig? I'm looking for that style for Doflamingo, I mean..I think I found one on Amphigory..but I dunno.. I get skeptical of how bald a short wig is unless I see it on someone x_x;; If you could lemme know, that'd be sooo awesome :D :D

OMG! Today I got my normal amount of unemployment (woo $700 for nothing.) instead of the less than half last time. So yay I can afford to go buy stuff for cosplays.
I am especially excited since I found out yesterday that someone stole my identity and I was missing $70 out of my checking account. Luckily it was only 70 and it seems only my checking account was compromised. D: I felt so horrible yesterday.
But today is a good day! Yay money!

Whoa..even at my loan company job I only made 600 bucks a paycheck __ 700 for unemployment is more than I make being employed almost the whole month o_o I always wondered how other cosplayers could afford all their awesome cosplays xD Now I know. They most definitely don't work minimum wage o__o

hahaha no I didn't work at min. wage. I actually used to make just under $800 dollars every two weeks. That plus my twice a year bonus of $500 was nice. And since I only get $100 less in unemployment then I did working, I am in no hurry to find work again. Sadly though my unemployment is starting to run out. D:
And trust me, I am one of the few cosplayers who made decent money. Most from what I understand really don't have money for all their elaborate cosplays. That is why they usually only have one to three cosplays year. Plus if you work it right, you can find awesome deals on cosplay supplies.
Also sometimes you can get lucky and trade friends for things.I won't be making as much when I go back to work though. I know I will have to take a job that is probably right around min. wage (thank god it is like $8 here.) which is ok as I don't want to do retail anymore and plan on trying to find something completely different.

OH shit.. someone on a One Piece community on LJ posted a link to the most PERFECT Nami shoes. I TOTALLY had to buy them even though I already have 2 pairs.. god.. I suck at cosplaying Nami and I STILL want to cosplay her. What's wrong with me?
Anyways xD Didn't want to have to edit..but..the cosplay thread has been dead today, so I just wanted to post my exciting stuff. I also found some PERFECT Doflamingo shoes, and my sis found some new X Drake shoes. Hopefully we win them since they aren't buy it now auctions on Ebay =_=;; I HATE auctions that aren't buy it now. I'd rather pay a little more than to have to be in a bidding war with some asshole xDDD
Anyways, that's my exciting news for the day. And you know what else is sad? I'm on the prowl for more shoes tomorrow JUST BECAUSE. xDDDDD Labor Day weekend sales, gotta take advantage of them you know.

Nothing exciting for me to report really. Moved back to college, don't really want to be here so i'm kinda depressed. But i have one more free day left before classes, and i plan on tackling my swords. Gonna sand all the paint off, fill in all the imperfections and give them all shiny new paint jobs and a coating of polyurethane to hopefully keep the paint for coming off again >.<
Also picked up supplies to start making Yubashiri.

Sorry college is sooo depressing ;__; wahhh All of our friends are at conventions having fun this weekend while we're stuck at home doing nothing =_=;; It's pretty depressing here too x_x; And I really appreciate your help with the wig, I want to look as accurate as I can for Doflamingo, especially since I've already seen him cosplayed soo damn well x_x;; I never hope to be the best, just one of the better looking ones maybe XD

I think it's the corn that makes it depressing, it gives off bad vibes, and these so damn much of it here.
The flat top will work great for him too, i think. The top will spike really nicely with hairspray alone. And it's such an easy maintenance wig 8D can't get tangled, ahaha.
I wish you luck with his pink feathered monstrosity of a coat. It terrifies me to even thing about making one XD

Well, the only bad part about Doflamingo's coat is that I have to buy the long ass fur for it. I know everyone else does boa's for his coat, yes that's what it looks like, but I can't aford to buy like 58 feather boa's x_x;; I'd rather buy the fur which is gonna cost me PLENTY xD We're gonna stuff the coat and make it extra super huge.
The real challenging cosplay is Scratchman Apoo..I'm still trying to decide if my hair will be long enough by then to pull into a pony tail and attach the braid..and wondering if I can get away with shaving the sides of my head. Ironically enough, my mom and I talked about that today..so..if I DID do that..it wouldn't really be that much of a shock..would it??? xDD

That would be mad dedication to shave the sides of your head , But for Apoo that might be the easiest way to go about that hairstyle xD

I wasn't able to get a picture of Charli and Angel's Taisou (did I spell that right? XP) and Youshi but they looked AWESOME (she has a picture)!!! And I watched 2 episodes of GR and got the DVDs and I really like it <3 Cool show is cool.
I didn't get any pictures on my camera of my Kaku, but we got some great shots at our little shoot and hopefully we'll get those soon. And I know a few people snapped Queen Kaku at cosplay chess so :P Those will show up as well.
I feel bad, I think I scared the crap out of the person i did rankyaku on o.o;;; I'm really good at fake kicking to the head but of course they didn't know that.

....and how come even though I was in a large OP group (which wasn't even 1/10 of the Hetalia group you speak of xDDD ) I don't feel burned out on it? infact my sis and I just bought patterns for costumes x3 I couldn't find an actual SUIT pattern though D: does anyone have a suggestion?

I got burned out because ALL saturday afternoon into the night and most of sunday afternoon into the night was solid Hetalia crack shenanigans.
I'm not burned out completely, oh no XD But for awhile I could do without talkiing about it a lot because i dont want to burn out on it just yet XD
And I wish I had Ponyo done, everyone freaked out over the bag and it would have been epic had it been finished DX
As far was OP goes there was me with kaku, charli with lucci and luffy, angel with kaku, kyle with usopp, a couple of other luffys (and a little kid one too!!! so cute!!) and we found a nami and I found … oh what was it called again... the mugiwara chibi piece with the afros and aprons Zoro last night. Yeah, plus not a lot of people do the furr thing..hell, there's only about 5 people I've ever seen pictures of even DO Doflamingo xD So yeah..I'll just be happy to support the character and dress as him xDDD
I'd love to actually shave my head, you have NO IDEA =_=;; I wish I didn't live at home sometimes so I could. My mom drives me NUTS sometimes with all the rules and all her constant complaining about us being soo obsessed with cosplay and conventions.

I'd go back. I didn't have a horrible time. It was the hotel staff that was rude. I don't like to be told to MOVE IT as I'm getting onto the elevator. The dealers room was nice, though not a lot of stuff that I was interested in. A few OP figures. And Neko got a Kamen Rider the first belt, and Faiz plushie. I got some Harry Potter pins, and got invited to join the DFW Harry Potter group, which I am very excited about. It wasn't near as boring as Ikkicon. Last night Neko ran into one of her friends, and we played some blackjack. We half assed (or I was..no contacts cause my eyes hurt) cosplayed our Kamen Rider Den O Characters.

Yeah, Anime Fest is kinda fun, but it really does get boring after like the first or second day. Saturday was the best day, as per usual.

I would've LOVED to be bored at animefest than BORED at work xD; Monday was the slowest work day YET ….. x__x; they sent me home an HOUR AND A HALF early. Also, it was so slow Sunday... I didn't even WORK sighs I would've LOVED to be bored out of my mind at Animefest though if I was there... I know I wouldn't be bored xD I'd be drawing or thinking of stupid crack pictures to take with my sis xDD we would've probably cosplayed Kidd and Law maybe... oh well xD
was searching on ebay for wigs... i'm considering getting a wig for Drake though I dunno how it'll work x__x; I really want orange hair but I can't DYE IT ORANGE or I'll be disowned by my mom I'm sure u__u so a pretty orange wig will be the best bet. I found something I like but I dunno x__x; I'm also looking for wigs for my sis and other things xDD I bid on some boots I'm hoping to replace my hooker Drake boots with... I dunno if they'll fit up my legs though =_=; I'll be working on that HARD CORE if not... they have the most PERFECT TOES . OMG and they have a heel but not a high heel!

Seriously, after the dealer's room closes all there is to do is walk around in cosplay …...... While it is more fun than being at home or work, it still can get a bit slow. Not saying its a bad con by any means. I wasn't really complaining either, just stating my opinion =)
But yeah, thanks a bunch! I did have fun at the con in general. Changing from Youshi to Gin was an interesting experience. Took a really long shower, haha! (still have some blue on my chest where my bra straps sit >_<

I'm hoping next year they will try their hand at more late night panels, like Iron Cosplay was at 1 AM. The Dealers room closes extremely early and around that time is when a lot of the last interesting panels are ending as well. There really isn't much to do but wander around in cosplay. Which is pretty fun XD
Last year AFest was pretty wham bam in your face and I seemed to be constantly roaming around doing something or going somewhere but this year it was really laid back and not much going on. It was still a good con though but yeah, especially Friday and at night, there were a few slow times.
The highlight of the con for me was the 18+ dating game. We had some AMAZING people in (including Dr House, he stole the show XD) it. Though I didn't have an interesting round really, America won of course 8D I can't wait for the videos, it was just a hilarious panel.

Arei!! Do you have any pics of your Kaku? I checked out your gallery in Photobucket and there's not a single one there D: I wanna see it soooo sooooo badly. I've looked through 10 thousand galleries for Afest soo far and haven't found a SINGLE SOLITARY picture of ANY One Piece cosplayers. I have BARELY found my friend Serena's Sailor Moon group, and she had a HUGE group go! I did see some pics of Freak-a-zoid though, so I'm partially happy xDDD

I never got any pictures of my Kaku. I think we got stopped only 2-3 times or so by pictures while in CP9 stuff.
We did have a photoshoot with someone though so we got good pictures, but I have no idea when those will be up.

I wish I had ref to show you CaptainUsopp I know at one point we had a lot of Giant Robo stuff Charli sent us or gave us but thanks to several comp wipes and even switching comps I'm sure we don't have it and Charli NEVER posts here anymore compared to how she used to ;___; I miss her … it's like all the friend we met in TX never get on anymore u___u it's so depressing!

Guys, we still love One Piece, I know I sure as hell do. But sometimes I like to explore other fandoms so that I don't get burnt out on my favorite ones. Same things goes for cosplay. I'd like to try other characters besides OP to cosplay. In fact, Charli and I are planning on cosplaying Phoenix Wright. Its going to be so fun! She's going to be an awesome Edgeworth (guess who's going to be Phoenix XD) and we'll have Brandee as Mia Faye.
So anyways. No more drama, we're all still friends, we can still geek out over things like OP or whatever. =D

Sorry Doll I was at work the whole day Friday. Responsibilities before fun. They cut my hours down so low I can't afford to miss a day. I got rent, and car payment, and many more bills. Lucky for me I get vacation in about two weeks. That's how I'm getting to take two days for onicon. I still like OP. I still read the manga (I let chapters build up and read them in groups,) It's not my favorite thing in the world, but it is up there. OP means a lot to me, it's how I met my friends, friends who gave me the courage to do what i had to do to be happy. Hell that's why I have that tattoo. Like Neko said, I like to cosplay other things too. Variety is the spice of life.

At this point I'm glad I'm living at home so I don't have bills like that but then again… I don't plan on getting into a great deal of debt any time soon plus even if I wanted to =_=; I have NO CREDIT xD they'll laugh in my face!
and I do NOT know how people let chapters build up D: the suspense has been KILLING ME lately I can't do that xD; though when my sis and I dropped out of OP for a while (thanks to NOBODY even living around us or us being able to go ANYWHERE to be around any OP inspiration ) I'm glad I missed that shit they call Amazon Lily ... I think I would've stopped reading OP after that until Amazon Lily was over
I guess it would be easier for my sis and I to cosplay something different if there was more people wanting us to branch out and try something different but for now it's just us... since we can't GO ANYWHERE grumbles but I can't WAIT to see your guy's new cosplay o.o is that stuff you wanna have by Onicon?

I think Charli's aiming to have Phoenix Wright by Yulecon. Hopefully I can get a second job and afford fabric and stuff. It'll be fun. XD
Onicon is partycon central. No cosplay except for our Kamen Rider ones, which are basically normal clothes that the characters wear, along with our henshin belts. XD
We still need to send you some Kamen Rider dvds.
