Woo…free wifi at Comic Con! Totally waiting for the DC Animated Universe panel because I'm a huuuuuuuuge Kevin Conroy fan.
Buuhan: It was made using two different pieces of craft foam. First one was already layered with gold and glitter, so I just cut it out in the proper shape. The bottom layer was of a much thicker piece of craft foam (about 3x thicker), and it was much harder to cut out without there being imperfections. It's what happens when you don't cut slowly. I tried using balsa wood, but way too flimsy.
MoonNeko: As Syn said, there is one hotel that is literally next to the convention center. Can't remember the name, and Iroha isn't in the panel with me, so can't ask her. HOWEVER! The elevators at the hotel are super slow to move. Which sucks when you just want to get to the con. Recommend getting a room on a single digit floor.

Arei - nOOOOO!!! Screen printing gear is a money pit, unless your going to do alot of screen printing in the future. And I mean alot.
Like run a t-shirt business? XD I haven't looked into all the specifics yet but I was guessing it was quite a bit of money @_@ Just wonder, even if I do make loads of stuff, if it will actually be easier and be worth it in the long run.

Another live post from Comic Con. Waiting in line at the masquerade with Iroha. We got stopped quite few times as Saobody Usopp and Robin. Those who did spot us recognized me first, and then realized they got a bonus with a Robin cosplayer. Those who didn't recognize me thought I was dressed as Pinocchio. So I just told them I was Rasta Pinocchio, and that I was on vacation. It's been a blast. I'm really looking forward to seeing Gomu Gomu no Cosplay's skit. We'll try to video record it. Look for pics and lulz stories later. XD
Btw…we're not in costume while we're waiting for the masquerade to start. Shoes started getting uncomfortable for both of us. The con site is HUUUUUUGE. Definitely smart of Iroha to bring her Luffy slippers while cosplaying Robin. If I weren't wearing socks, I woudl've totally brought my Luffy slippers as well.

Man I feel like dressing up today for no good reason at all and get pics of my sis's Law just for the sure hell of it. I also feel like going down to the fabric store for the hell of it. God damn it.. I want to cosplay soooooo badly =_=;; Though I shouldn't be complaining, Fanime and Otakon are FAR FAR FAR into the future so I have the time to lose some weight first x_x;; Thank the gods!

Okay, just tried to reserve the hotel room for Otakon. I have no idea how to do it their way, I don't understand WHAT the hell they're talking about o____o;;; For starters they would only let people call from 9-5 Mon-Fri to make reservations. I know Otakon hotels that are in walking distance fill up INSTANTLY so I wanted to make sure to get a reservation in ASAP. So I called today around 9 here, it's around 10 there. First I talk to a guy who clearly had NO CLUE what he was doing ==;; I gave him my information like how long I needed the reservation for, when I'm checking in etc, and he kept me on the phone for a while without saying a word. Then he said I would have to call back and talk to group sales. I did that. Then the lady at group sales said 'Yes I can make reservation for Otakon, but no I can't. you have to go through their website like you did last year to reserve a room' I told her I didn't got to Otakon last year, and I have no idea what she's talking about. Then she had no idea cause by god, these people have no clue what an anime con is, so she couldn't help me, and she also wouldn't make my reservation. UGHHH I'm soo frustraited ;__; It's not like I know anyone who's reserved a hotel than can help me, I've never EVER had this problem reserving somewhere before, it's soo frustrating ==;;

The biggest thing of liquid latex I have found is a gallon…but it is over 80 dollars. Not for sure if you want to spend that much.
Wait…wait! I found one cheaper. This one I think is around 60 dollars. Still expensive but not as much.

And Omni, thankyou!! I think I'll either check that out, or the magic shop up in Tulsa. They had a half gallon, so I might check into that. I'll be checking it out sometime in the future, as I doubt seriously I'll be attending a con till around this time next year possibly ==;; But who knows xD Thanks again, I can NEVER find that stuff.. EVER. I remember there was a site I found a long time ago and book marked on the computer that crapped out, and it was a site with fake noses like Usopps, only it had like pointy tips you could latex onto your own nose. We'd planned to do that for Drake but for the LIFE of me I could NOT find the site, nor any other site that had anything close ==; I'm terrible at looking things up.

guys… is there a difference between regular little tiny bottles of Liquid Latex, and the GIANT Gallon tubs of body paint liquid latex O________O because the magic shop has this GIANT half gallon of liquid latex but I don't want to get the wrong thing if it doesn't say body paint! then it WOULD be a waste Dx

The liquid latex body paint is meant to be breathable on the skin. If you are doing it over large sections of your body you would want to use the body paint version because it would allow for your skin breathe and sweat.
The hobby version of liquid latex is not meant to be used on skin as it would create a seal on it. And not allow for the skin to breathe.
However the body paint version does tend to peel away from the body after a while. I have never used the body paint version, so I am not for sure how long it would last. So it might not be the best thing to use if you are wanting something permanent….

yeah we're wanting to make a man chest like Charli did xD and use Liquid Latex to cover it O____O so I wonder now which one she used… body paint, or actual THICK AS HELL unbreathable liquid latex... we're not actually painting our bodies xD I'd HATE to peel that shit off my skin xDD

If you are doing the man chest parts over a body suit like Charli's I think you can do the non body paint one, because it technically won't be going against the skin (not sure how pourous your body suit is though)
And Moon, what is it/where did you get that nude lipstick? _ This sounds super cool.
I've got to go find some liquid latex and spirit gum DX stupid costume stores are so far away, so lazy.

alright it sounds like when we have the money and TIME of course to go to Tulsa… we may be getting that giant half gallon of latex xD any suggestion on a brush to paint over fabric?? I know... a paint brush x__x; but Latex is FUCKING STICKY and ruins things O.O should I try a foam brush like a painters brush to keep from showing strokes??

We used the large gallon body paint version, and Jacque was able to go through and get all the licensing stuff. (She's the one who purchased it. She found it for 30 bucks a gallon! But I'm not sure where.)
Also, use foam brushes, because the ammonia in the latex will melt actual brushes. We learned that the hard way.

Found out I'm off tonight due to the store cleaning it's floors, Minimum wage going up, and them having to cut hours. I'd be more upset about it, but I'd rather have 7 of my hours cut than someone else who needs those hours to support their kids or something. It's a one time thing though so I'll be fine :3
Damn it..all I can think about is working on costumes ==;; Mouji, Paulie, Scratchman Apoo, another version of Nami, fixing up Spandam, possibly fixing up my Sanji wig and getting it into the right style or something like that. I don't hardly have ANY Sanji pics on cosplay.com..but there's good reason for that considering all my older versions of Sanji I was soo damn blimp-like ==;; Ahahaha I wanted to post some Mr. Prince pics, but..my wigs looked HORRIBLE. Part of me wants to replace it..but I need other things before that. So sorry Sanji, if I can lose the weight first before cosplaying you again I'll look better anyways x3

I was wondering why you had to get a license to buy the latex when they just sold them over the internet or at hobby stores etc. lol but now it all makes sense.
And silicone is very handy to have around for props. Or also for special effects type makeups.

Alright, if you have a wooden knife block in your kitchen your pretty much following that model. It's pretty much sandwiching two pieces of wood together and adding 2 more small pieces of wood equivalent to the width of your sword. I'm sure you;ll get the idea. I'll see if I have any pics from old swords that have been made in our group.

Sorry it's taking so long. Was dead tired when I got back on Sunday, and still had to work in the morning. So pretty much exhausted yesterday as well. Uploading Comic Con photos right now, and will most likely make a post on my friends' blog before posting the album here. Actually, I'll probably make it a seperate thread for it.
Iroha has some pics as well, so hopefully she'll share some later. Anyone else that was at Comic Con will hopefully post some pics also. And unfortunately, I didn't get to take many pics of myself as Douchebag Luffy. Other people did though, so hopefully those will surface soon. We also got some LULZ movies to post, but that'll be later in the week.

I'm EXTREMELY pissed Otakon is so close to AX next year, that was not a good move. I kinda told some people I would go to Otakon next year since I planned AX this year but… DX Did not happen...
Mostly wanting to go to AX to see Oda if he DOES come (and hang out with all the awesome cosplayers XD)...
I started my swords today =_= I removed the lace things they had tied on the handle and they were stuck on there on the sides with some REALLY sticky adhesive. I spent a few hours trying to get it off, from scrubbing with a cloth, to stain remover (why my grandma thinks this works I have no idea) to nail polish remover, and I finally googled it and found WD-40 was good for that stuff and viola, leave that on for an hour and a half and the goo is pretty much gone~ Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
Then I painted them and ugh X_X Theres fingerprints on them and as I took off the goo I noticed there were some bad chips all over, these things are pretty fragile. They're noticable but, I think from how I have to hold them they won't be noticable in pictures (thats all that matters XD).
So the handles are done, I'll do the blades tomorrow then post pictures ~~ Also about to take and alter a turtle neck to make the shirt. I think that's going to work out well so long as I don't destroy it, put some wire in there, a zipper... I think a fleece jacket (or a puffy vest I found with a huge collar) is going to be way way way too hot @@ Plus the fleece jacket with a big enough neck is way too big) I think the turtleneck will stretch out far enough that the collar will stick out right.
.... Annnnnnnd I just remembered I've got no idea where America's tie is and I've got to wear that Friday =_= Damn I'll have 3 ties now... DX I don't need to be spending anymoreeee.
Bought the wig for Young Ice the other day <3 And Kaku's wig should be at my house tomorrow finally <3 <3 <3
And I've still got to get Ponyo's wig, and the suit for Kaku and Ice's outfit DX
Even if I find a job soon, I've cut it so close that it would be extremely rude to try to take off from whatever it is that soon... Noooooo TToTT :sad:

I…. just remembered I haven't even given my friend my share of the room for AFest yet. DX Baaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllssssssssssssssss DDDX I'm going to have to clean the house and office top to freakin bottom to get all this money TToTT But I'll probably have a slightly better chance of getting a job after AFest, when all the kids vacate the summer jobs.
Well, I chose to come live out in BFE instead of stay at home (and drown in my mother's trash and junk TToTT) and have a job.... Not being able to find a job here must be punishment TToTT But atleast I'm going to the gym now.... If I can wear my jeans and stuff by AFest it will be ok I have no money XDDD Because I really need to be able to wear normal clothes again (besides athletic shorts, t-shirts, and like 2 dresses DX)
And @#$%!!!! Metallic spraypaint =/= wood!!!! I've used almost AN ENTIRE CAN on ONE blade. I think I FINALLY got it to where its decent enough but there is parts where the paint got a little thick and dripped a bit.... It's not too bad, I will be EXTREMELY careful doing the second blade because I had no idea that it was going to take SO MANY coats (like, 6-7), the handles only needed 2 coats. I'll let it hang and dry completely on the porch overnight and hopefully have a completed picture of one of them to post tomorrow >_<

I got a bag today..you know.. it's like a make-up traveling kit thing. I'm trying to get prepared NOW incase I'll need that stuff on a flight to Fanime..which..chances are.. I WILL. So, I'm getting ready EARLY xD My shit fits in the bag okay, it came with 5 bags and it's fairly cute. I bet it would fit in my sis's suitcase too incase I don't want to carry it on or try and shove it in my tiny suitcase.
OH MY GOD.. GREAT Shaggy costume xDD ahahaha If I made that face people would just be terrified of my supreme uglyness, but you look soo awesome xDDD GREAT Scooby plush too ^___^

it helps when painting porous materials like wood, mdf, plaster, and partial board -
I didn't have any problems painting the Hawkins sword I made … but then AGAIN ... I didn't paint the blade xD and most of the hilt was hidden O.O and I didn't use spray paint... I am absolutely no help Dx but I did sand it down some or at least tried to O.O it was so damn SLICK!

There was a giant airbubble in the first one =_= So it looks a little weird but I think it will be ok now, except I had to paint over it AGAIN because I put some protective stuff over it and it totally took out the metallic sheen, but I think it will be ok now… here is hoping the 2nd one will be awesome to make up for this fail paintjob DX
And holy crap Cosworx. I ordered a wig and it took it 3 DAYS to get here (versus the normal 10) <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 So Ice's AND Kaku's wigs are here <3 <3 <3 Yay yay yay.
And just after a week of working out my pants are starting to fit a bit better!!! Still really tight but they can atleast be PUT ON and some actually button/zipped up (after not being able to be put on almost at all this is good) Yay for fast progress!!! (dont think ive really lost much weight but, inches are good too xD)
.... And this is torture TTOTT to be dressed as America and NOT get a cheeseburger tonight.... 5 guys burger too..... uggggggh DX
And another setback, I got my chest binder (woohoo) and well…. =_= They still won't go flat, and I think if I go down a size it's going to be way too tight because even though this is not all the way flat it IS pretty tight, and I can't breathe well to begin with DX The compression is PERFECT for stuff like America and Kaku where it really doesn't show much to begin with but I needed to be super-flat for Iceburg... well, I'll just have to try to go as much as I can and deal with it TTOTT or wear the black shirt... noooo i want tats DX
