Looks like SE went and got them a okama also.
And the Death Scythe thing didn't change them much yet, and that's good. Oh and Deathscythe is telling them that Maka's mother was an angel, or that Soul is spliting up with Maka to go be the euro death scythe.
Mihawk is like Kanye West…ppl only scared of him bcuz hes kinda crazy and dangerous...hes only got 1 friend Jayz i mean Shanks no 2 mention hes really cocky too and nobody in the OP world likes him..mayb kanye has a long black sword too!!

Nice chapter. I'm gonna have to add Soul Eater to my list of "series that consistently give me satisfying chapters", alongside One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Skip Beat.
If I have one quibble it's that I think Soul becoming a Death Scythe was a little lackluster. I mean, I like the idea that even after becoming one he still has to train as one (i.e he doesn't automatically become all-powerful), but considering that the main goal of Shibusen students is to become/create Death Scythes, shouldn't Soul's ascension have been a little more dramatic/ceremonial? He's joining a very elite few, I feel like he should have more recognition other than Maka's Dad personally giving him the final soul.
Oh well, back to reality. Awww, Maka just wants Soul to call her an angel. Silly boys! (and I think I'm becoming a Havar fan, poor boy needs attention)
Finally, is Gopher a dude or a chick? Which is it!?

1. Patty. Oh I do love Patty. Poor Sid-sensei.
2. KID!!!!!!!!! That's how you handle interrogation, with smirks and defiance. Poor boy, I thought they'd just let him sit in the book for a while, but it looks like that isn't so.Oh, and does anybody else get a Cardcaptor Sakura vibe from Soul's wing-form? I almost expected Maka to say, "Release!!"

I'm surprised people think Soul was going to have major changes. None of the other Death Scythes look starkly different, they all sort of look like Shibusen alumni.
That said, I wasn't too interested in the rest of the chapter, but I think Soul and Maka's relationship improved by 1. :o

you weren't here for the Great Usopp Wars two or three years ago, which was basically thread after thread of this exact argument.
it doesnt make liz a bad character because she's kind of cowardly. That's obviously her flaw, and it looks like her facing her fears will be a major part of up coming chapters. At the moment, probably the only thing required of her is to turn into a weapon, which she does, so by those standards, she is useful.

Yeah but Patty can also turn into a weapon and yet she has all that bonus stuff. Liz has nothing and what's more she's a coward. Without Kid, she's pretty much useless.

So by your logic, if Patty couldn't do all that extra stuff, she'd be useless too? Doesn't that go for Tsubaki and Soul and every other weapon as well?

I wouldn't go as far as to call her useless, but Liz doesn't help any situations with her presence. Both the meister and the Weapon should be adept at combat in case either of them get in trouble. Just as a meister shouldn't be useless with out it's weapon, a weapon shouldn't be crap on it's own either. That was on of the dilemmas that Soul Eater went through when he witnessed Justin's power. I do agree that Liz will probably overcome her fears but at the moment it's kind of annoying. Though I don't doubt that Liz is a decent fighter because we saw what she could do at the pyramids.
