What do you guys think the families of murder victims think about capital punishment?
The families of murder victims

I am part of the family of a murder victim and I really wish the guy would have gotten the death sentence.
Some people may say that being in jail for life is worse because you have to spend your whole life there but the sad cold fact is there is no such thing as life in prison. Sometimes the capital punishment is necessary.

I'm so sorry. But, I wanna know whether familes want the death sentence or not. I tried Google but they're so many familes with different opinions.
-
Then isn't that your answer? They have different opinions. What answer were you looking for that that didn't provide?
-
this topic is confusing
very very confusing (wouldn't it have been easier to make a topic about the Death Penalty and go from there?)

Well that was what I was trying to say, I am for capital punishment.
-
i'm for the death sentence..may you go in peace
-
I just want to know who has the most opinions between for and against capital punishment.
-
I imagine the families of murder victims would be in favor of capital punishment, whereas the families of the murderer would be against it.

I sat on a jury where the victim was the nephew and the murderer was the uncle. Makes it hard on the family to decide. I felt so bad for the mother/grandmother, because I think it was hardest on her.
I am torn on the issue, because I respect life, but there is always a chance that the murderer (if he/she got loose) would probably kill again. I think it would just depend on the circumstances.

I wish the death penalty wasn't so wasteful.
Why not have a programme where we shoot up the condemned with deadly diseases and try our luck and curing them? Or similar research which would be unacceptable on main society.

You might be surprised on that, actually.
As for this thread, I really don't know that you're going to find an answer here, as this isn't a support forum for families of murder victims, and even if it were, it's not really an accurate representation of them as a whole anyway. I'd suggest googling for statistics or something like that.
