@RuNa:
Alright, explain the last part to me and I want you to SERIOUSLY consider when Sean's run actually started.
I can tell you right now that Geoff killed and changed more characters than just about every Teen Titans there is out there (not that I hated his run, but there were a lot of serious issues with it).
Also, seriously, why do you post at the DCU message boards still? It's obviously a place for troll complainers to hang out and share opinions with one another. I don't know of anyone that likes ANYTHING on those boards. Please don't tell me you hated the WW movie too because she was "under-powered"… [go to comicbloc.com instead]
Also, on a side subject, I was able to read some back stuff on Secret Six and I am really starting to like it now, but I can't find 2-4 anywhere. Will I miss much if I read the stuff that came before the current series, 1, and start on 5?
His run actually started when he started the Titans of Tomorrow Today arc. His storyline or not, he started writing the book at that point. I didn't really like any of his stuff aside from Red and Blue, a handful of moments in certain issues, and this most recent story arc.
He turned Cassie into an uber bitch. The Ares stuff was introduced before he came along, but other writers (like J. Torres for instance) managed to giver her attitude, and have her deal with all the crap going on in her life without making her an unlikeable bitch. He eventually rectified the issue, but after nearly 2 years of one of my favorites being so unlikable it was hard to really care. And then she got put into a really horrid looking costume at that.
He did bring Wendy and Marvin into the book, only to unecessarily kill one of them and put the other into a coma (and into a storyline he won't even be finishing, as it seems that thread has moved over to the Oracle mini, and if it does come back to Teen Titans it won't be with his involvement since he's leaving the book)
He gave Miss Martian this dark evil side complex which, while it certainly gave her more depth, it made the character less likable than when she was first introduced. Seeing M'gann in a seedy bar bathroom about to be taken advantage of by two a-hole dudes was one of the most uncomfortable scenes I've read in years.
He made Eddie an annoying little jerk who was jealous of Jamie for too long. It wasn't until Blue and Red happened that Eddie went back to being one of the best parts of this book. But in the same issue Eddie changed his name and took on a really ugly costume.
Robin, Jamie, Misfit, Kara, and others he handled well enough. The few lines he's given Static make me think he understands the character pretty well. Ravager is the only character he really shined with IMO, so I'm glad he's taking charge of the co-feature.
And Terror Titans, while he did great stuff with Ravager and scratched the surface with the Terrors themselves, it was ultimately a big waste of time if you ask me. I'd be curious to see another Terror Titans appearance if they actually got development next time around. After an entire story arc focused on them followed by their own mini series I still feel like we don't know enough about them to really care aside from they've all had f-ed up lives.
At the end of the day, McKeever's run on Teen Titans has just been not up my alley whatsoever. I can appreciate the fact that he's a technically very good writer, the fact that he recognizes continuity (a rarity at DC) and the fact that he does make use of a lot of unused characters, but other than a handful of exceptions I didn't like anything he did with the book. I adored Spiderman Loves Mary Jane, but none of his DC work has impressed me too much so far.
I actually registered for Comicbloc nearly a year ago but my account was never verified or something so I was never able to actually use my account. Go figure.
The DC boards I post on very sparingly these days, only when I feel like saying something do I bother going there, and only when a thread seems decently intelligent do I bother posting. Or I'll go there if I feel like getting into a ranting fight. Way to many trolls to be too active there, like huntressnut for example, that guy is so tiring sometimes. The main board I frequent is the Wonder Woman board because Gail Simone is somewhat active there, and the WW movie (which I actually really really really enjoyed) aside most of the WW threads are pretty chill. Same for the Secret Six boards.
Speaking of Secret Six, definitely read all the old stuff. I'd say getting issues 2-4 would be a good idea. This storyline has been really good, and I wouldn't reccomend missing any of it to be honest.
Good news about Kendra being alive, the less confusion surrounding the Hawks the better, and revamping them yet again would've been a mistake.
