I wasn't too fond of the movie. It felt like it just dragged on. I found it to be ok, but nothing more.
Futurama

I loved the movie mostly because It brought back all my favourite characters
Aw, they cut out Farnsworth's "and most of them died from their injuries!"
no they didn't…..

Same. Loved seeing them all again.
And Carter was talking about that trailer that Advent` posted.
-
oh and I really liked the Movies version of the intro
IkxDO_zlLG4
-
A bit too much going on, and definitely dragged during the middle
but they closed it nicely with the Lars' revelationThe bingo gag during the battle was funny though
-
I have to say that I am pleased with how this turned out. Still wish there was more focus on Zoidburg, though.
-
The movie needed more zapp
Otherwise it was awesome
It made me realize how shitty simpsons movie was
-
I'd love to download this, but I'm not going to, so it will be a fresh experience for me once I buy the DVD.
Also, one of the extras on the DVD (according to IGN) is possibly the greatest extra on any DVD ever: a full 22-minute episode of "Everybody Loves Hypnotoad!"
All glory to the Hypnotoad!
-
Lemme know when someone watches it all straight through without looking away.
Not only for the sake of finding someone who would bore themselves like that, but to find out if something actually happened to them.

I saw it a few days ago (and later, with spanish subs) and I liked it a lot, even when Bender isn´t that important in the plot as the title might make you think…
Does anyone have the lyrics of the "holiday trinity" song?
-
I have it ripped from the movie, and in an mp3…..
neway with the movie out and the show coming back I was wondering which episodes were everyones favourite out of the original run?
(oh and cough http://www.piggymoo.com/futurama/ )
personally for me 2 of them stuck out
"Future Stock" & "Time Keeps on Slippin'"
"By Tuesday it'll be Thursday. By Wednesday, it'll be August. And by Thursday, it'll be the end of existence as we know it!"
-
My favorites were The Farnsworth Parabox, Roswell That Ends Well, Anthology of Interest 2, A Taste of Freedom, Less Than Hero, and The Devil's Hands of Idle Playthings.
There's a lot I like, but not quite enough to list.
My least favorites are probably Bend Her, A Leela of Her Own, I Dated a Robot, and The Cyber House Rules.
-
I liked Insane in the Mainframe, both Anthology of Interests, A Fish Full of Dollars, Mother's Day, and Amazon Women in the Mood the most.
Roberto was love.

What are you saying? If anything, the movie was packed with TOO MUCH stuff going on… Not boring at all i've got to say... I had to keep track of everything or else i would get lost in that awesomely twisted plot

I also ripped that song(and the movie size intro)…so I´ll give it a try(Hell, I´ve listened the song so many times that I won´t need to listen it to write the lyrics)
SC: I´ve brought the elfs back from vacation
Chained them up, and called my holiday friends
KB: Kwanzabot/HZ: And the Hannukah Zombie
SC: Three mad wise men
Bringing murder and ¿freakin´? incense
E: Damn you!(shu-du-dudú)
SC: Shut up! Now fetch those bunnies by the armhole
E: Says who? (shu-du-dudú)
SC: Says me! Napalm makes them ¿slightly? more harmful
No one here goes near that door
This toy shop´s going to war!HZ: Talmud says "Be slow to anger"
¿Low-dam? scammers got me see in red
Got my tie-fighter out of the hangar
Jump back, Jack, ´cause I´m jewish and i´m undead
E: ¿Damn hot? (du-du-dudú)
HZ: Dreidel, Dreidel
I made them out of blasting clay
E: You´re nuts (du-du-dudú)
HZ: And when it´s dry and ready, for mercy they will pray
I can´t wait eight nights or more
This zombie´s going to warKB: Check-chek it out, Kwanzabot, in the ¿?
With my inhuman beat box busy building missiles
They´re guided by these cute dancing fairy figures
Be careful, little elf, that´s proximity triggered
I´m fighting back for Kwanza so the children won´t miss it
I´m confused by its meaning, but I know when they ¿? it
So Santa?

Come on, pimp my sled.HZ: Easy with that toy artillery
Torgo´s powder is deadly but unstable
SC: Can they sue for ¿inability? ?
Nixon: Certainly not!
SC: Use as much as you are able.
E. This ¿?(du-du-dudú)

Leela/Nixon: Now let´s fight!!
SC: OK!
Chestnuts roasting, I´m gonna open fire
Prepare for blood to ¿loads?
SC,KB, HZ: This trinity´s going to war!I´m not absolutely sure about the words with ¿?, or I can´t figure out what they say

On another note, I think the vast majority of Bender-centric episodes tend to be awful
-
Waitaminute. You guys couldn't wait for Futurama to return but now that its here you show your support by downloading it for free instead of paying 17 bucks for the DVD?
Hmmm….
-
itt: downloading morality on an anime forum
-
Both Anthologies of Interest, Parasites Lost, Time Keeps On Slippin', Roswell That Ends Well, Godfellas, Less Than Hero, The Farnsworth Parabox, and The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings are my favorite episodes. There are very few I dislike. Bendher and Insane in the Mainframe are both pretty terrible from a Futurama standpoint.

who says they wont?

@Cap'n:

Well, at least they´re usually better than the Fry-Leela episodes, which tend to be the same at the end…
And I´ll buy the dvd...when it comes out in my country
-
I almost forgot probably the funniest episode in the whole show, with Fry's nose being taken as an aphrodisiac.
"This jerk chicken is excellent, I think I will have Fry's lower horn jerked."
"It's used to it. Woooo."
Oh the one liners

ITT people bitching about us not buying a DVD that we can't currently buy

I kind of liked The Sting, but I kind of agree
But goddamn, Bender is jsut so fucking one note sometimes. The episode about him being on TV was pretty much the epitome of why I can't stand him anymore
-
"Single female lawyer, having lots of sex"
Any episode with the Robot Devil, he's awesome
-
i got it and burned it to dvd.
definetly awesome. i loved the scene with fry frozen and bender in the spaceships. i shat bricks.
i loved how everyone was in it a little bit. so kewl.
-
neway with the movie out and the show coming back I was wondering which episodes were everyones favourite out of the original run?
The first ones that came to mind is Farnsworth Parabox and Three Hundred Big Boys. Anthologies of Interest episodes are fun too.
Bender episodes are okay as long as they have good robot jokes. Like that cartridge unit from Obsoletely Fabulous, or better yet, Calculon.
"Oh Calculon! Compress me tight!"
-
"With my last breath, I curse Zooooooooooooooooidberrrrrrrrrrrrrg!"
Best quote in the entire series.
-
I love the episodes that revolve around Zoidberg.

Teenage Mutant Leela Hurdles was an awesome episode too, hehe

So watched the movie. Was all right; could have been better, could have been worse.
Some incontinuities/trivia I noticed:
! 1. In the beginning of the episode, Hermes states himself to be Grade 34. But in the Episode where they went to the central bureaucracy, he gets demoted to grade 36 at the end.
! 2. Fry had already been seen naked; once in the hottubbing episode and the other in another incident. Wouldn't they have noticed the tattoo then?
! 3. In the episode where Bender finds religion, he repeats the same binary code that was on Fry's ass.
! 4. The whole reason Yancy named his son Phillip J. Fry was because Fry went missing…
! 5. In the episode where everyone gets a tax return, Fry didn't get along too well with the Killer Whale (Although the movie had a Narwahl).
! 6. When Hermes' head was dropped in the jar, it didn't have a neck collar. Then it switches away and switches back, and you see his neck collar.
! 7. The Mona Lisa is seen in another episode, meaning they still had the original and there was no reason for Bender to go back in time and steal it.
! 8. When Bender goes back to Ancient Egypt, he goes to 1351 BCE. But the Pharaoh at the time, Amenhotep III, didn't die till 1350 BCE. -
who do we have here in the top right

Oh lord
What has science (fiction) done!? D8 -
what you mean you guys didn't notice that on the 1st watch?
I wonder how many times Torbo's Executive Powder was used in the movie
-
the movie was good
not as funny as the 1st one, but I believe that is more due to the fact that the 1st movie was the 1st time seeing Futurama in so long
this one was great though

This one wasn´t so bad, but it was a bit plain, it didn´t have any exciting scene like the first one…
-
i can't wait to get it tuesday. >=D

Just watched BWBB. Not as good as BBS, but still pretty good.
Some things that disappointed me:
- I had hoped it would end on a cliffhanger like the first one, since there are two more movies left (though there are still some unresolved matters, such as Kif still being mad at Amy)
- Kinda wish they had left Yivo as more of a metaphor for heaven, rather than him being literally heaven.
- Fry dating Colleen, and Leela still being more resistant didn't make a lot of sense to me, based on what happened in BBS.
Things I liked/loved:
-Everything between the universe ascending into Yivo and the robots fighting Yivo was absolutely awesome.
-Glad they didn't really kill off Kif.
-I liked the clever parallelism between Colleens mutlitple boyfriends and Yivo loving the whole universe.
-Bender giving his son (which he had, apparently) to the robot devil was absolutely hysterical. Overall, this movie didn't have as many laughs as BBS, but this scene made me LOL, whereas BBS did not.Ovrall, another great addition, and I can't wait for Bender's Game.
-
-
What a funny name for the final movie.
No, there are four movies and Bender's Game is the third and next one to come out. The final movie (which I suppose will conclude Futurama) is Into the Wild Green Yonder.
-
So…anyone watched Into the Wild Green Yonder yet?
Suppose I'll put my impressions in a spoiler tag:
! I really loved this one. After BWBB and Bender's Game, which I didn't like as much as the first one, ITWGY is on par with BBS, in my opinion. The story about the golf course and the story about the Life Force/Chi fit together really well, and the best thing about it was that anyone could've turned out to be the Dark One. Since it's Futurama, I wouldn't have been surprised if one of the cast who has been there all the time would've been the big bad. Glad it was someone else, though, was a nice twist. I suspected Scruffy…
! About the ending:- Kif and Amy are still (back?) together!
- Fry/Leela ending, what else is there to say?
- The "Go! Go! Go!" before flying into the black hole was a very fitting
ending. As if to say, "move on forwards", "continue".
-
Yep, I went and bought ITWGY the other, and I think it was definitely better than the last two. It did have it's share of problems (the whole Fry/Leela ending seemed kind of forced), but overall it was very worthy of the series. And I like how they ended it with them going into a wormhole, their fate uncertain, since that's pretty much where the show stands now. This could very well be the last we see of Futurama, but there also have been some rumors of them continuing it (webisodes, movie, 6th season, etc.) but either way this was a great note to end on.
-
sorry to be off topic, not talking about the movie and all, but my favorite episode is the bone-itis one.
yeah.
-
Is the show permanently over? It was good. Really really good. How could anyone forget Bender? Or especially when he's with Fry. FFFFFFFFUKKEN AWESSSSSSUUUUUMMMM!!!!!!11
-
They said there are talks with Fox or someone that there could be a season 6. I remember hearing, I'll find a source…
Right, this one:
He mentions it about a minute in.But no decision's been made yet, according to http://www.gotfuturama.com/
-
Nobodyman, I also agree that Fry/Leela ending was very forced… but for having waited many years for that moment, i'll say that it's good enough to satisfy.
I thought this movie was much better than "Bender's Game"
still... of the 4 movie releases, the best was "Bender's Big Score"
