Um, hello? It ain't about being scary. If it were, they'd do death metal, shitty out-of-focus music videos, and their song and album titles wouldn't be laced with B-Movie puns. It's all about entertainment. Putting on a show. They have a horror movie theme to them (notice every one of them is some monster archetype), but that's it. Just following the age old rule of "if you're going to start a band, start one you'd want to see live."
Also, now that you're commenting on people's music tastes, you'd best be careful what YOU post, now. Stones and glass houses and all that.
