Wow, during all this time you have never heard of softsubs? You have to set up vsfilter (on windows, MPlayer on other systems) to display them.
Oh I have, I just didn't know these were softsubs because usually when I accidentaly download them, the file won't work at all, which was different this time since I could actually watch it as a raw. Thanks for clearing it up. No chances on a hardsub?

is there any other format available around there¡? since mkv won't play on the ps3 and when encoding to any other format, subtitles won't appear :(

I don't own a PS3, but I'm pretty sure it is possible to install Linux on a PS3.
@Wikipedia:
[…]Sony has included an option in the XMB menu to install other operating systems such as Linux. Sony has been quoted in an interview stating, "It was fully intended that you, a PS3 owner, could play games, watch movies, view photos, listen to music, and run a full-featured Linux operating system that transforms your PS3 into a home computer."[5]

Once you have Linux installed, a program like VLC or better yet MPlayer, should allow you to view anything that you can view on the computer.
or you could try converting the files yourself…
-
thank you, but installing linux on my ps3 to watch one piece is a bit overkill nor I have free time to do it.
I've used mkv to vob to convert it to a different format, but I haven't managed to make subtitles appear :S

isn't there a hardsub version?
-
I don't know, hope it's a hd encoding :D

Apologies if I repeat the question but looking at the posts above it appears that I'm not the only person for whom softsubs are no option at the moment. So is there a chance to get hardsubs at some point?
-
you guys just have to go on baka-updates.com and get the fansubbed torrent.
-
or check the yibis website, lol

Erm, isn't there no such thing there?
or check the yibis website, lol
And which one is the hardsub version(s)? Sorry if these questions are stupid but I can't seem to find something that distinguishes between soft- and hardsubs. And what I've downloaded so far seem to be softies. So what do I have to do on that page to get my hardie?

well, if you consider that i downloaded such thing there…
i'd like to get you the link if i could but my firewall at work doesn't all me to.

I'm guessing the avi versions are the hardsub and the mkv are the softsub :D
so yeah good luck -
baka updates links to yibis' hd .mkv torrent
there IS a hardsub version at yibis, unfortunately is a SD encoding guess thats my only option If I want to watching on my ps3
386 by sogeking is a hardsub HD with an annoying watermark at the top right corner
there's no 100% perfect releases like before anymore

Thanks for the info. Then I'll go with the SD's.^^

annoying watermark, lol

for clarification, hardsubs are the avi's and the mkvs are softsubbed. I suggest installing cccp or k-lite to get mkv softsubs to work, but if it is a ps3 thing, I can't say I am very knowledgable.

yess I was right :p
thanks desi
