Ursus Shock was awesome…XD

376: Kuma's Nikyu Nikyu Abilities That Deflect Everything

Okay-stil sounded like "ugh?".

I was very pleased with the fight. Also, I'm was right, surprisingly. When I first read this chapter last, what December? I thought that Pressure Cannon should be clear since it was just air. However, the green tint in UC and the white light in the last episode made me th ink they weren't going to do it. Nicely done. Also, I like how Sanji, Franky, Usopp, Nami and Chopper reacted when Kuma complimented them.
However, I felt that there wasn't impact in Sanji's Concasse and Ursa Shock took a WHOLE lot longer to create than I thought it would. I was thinking it would be quick like in UC. All in all, a nice episode. One of my favorites of Thriller Bark.
Now looking at the preview, I can't wait. The laser looks freaking awesome.

Robin's starting to look hot again. I was getting some serious butterface vibes from her lately.

Totally agree! She looks the hottest in enies lobby arc.

I think they messed the whole "how is the Pressure Canon working"-part up. In the anime it seems the paw is "collecting" air to fire it up, while in the manga Kuma is bouncing the air at his enemies by a quick move with the hand.
Everything touching the paw is bounced away, so how does he do Ursa Shock and the Cannon in the anime? I think they didn't understand the principle Kuma's techniques are working with…

There was a great "Robin-Out-Of-Charakter-Moment"

I beg to differ. They are the creators, why would they not understand? I read the manga and i don't see any significant difference, no quick move or whatever. And it's DEFLECT, not BOUNCE.
-
Well, if Kuma could do such an amazing attack without even needing a special amount of time to prepare, he would be the ruler of the world!
Edit: was it the redline which was shown at the horizen when the Ur(u)sus(u) Shock ended?

The difference is obvious… and my friend, you can say bounce. Nice to see some grammar nazis.
Look: Kuma uses the speed of the hand to deflect the air in front of it. It can be seen in chapter 484, that he has to move his hand really fast for it. What they showed in the anime is totally different, because he doesnt move his arm. In the anime the cannon seems to work by throwing shockwaves at will. As can be seen when he "charges" the air for the finishing blow on Zoro before Sanji kicks.
@Robin-Cats:
The "nyan" sound robins voice actor made was even more funny. :D -
Well some of his attacks are fast, some are slow. But thats not exclusively in the anime. Look out for speedlines / non existence of speedlines.
Fast attacks:
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/484/06/ (middle panel) -> Min 8:32 (fast in the anime too)
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/484/12/ (top left panel) -> Min 11:56 (fast in the anime too)Slow attacks:
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/483/19/ -> Min 4:44 (slow in the anime too)
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/484/10/ -> Min 10:30 (slow in the anime too)I cant see any mistake. If all of his attacks should have been fast its Odas mistake not to draw speedlines into the manga. The animators turned into anime exactly what they saw.
His deflection moves (apart from those deflecting air) by the way are all slow or not moving at all. So it doesn't seem to be a big problem deflecting without speed.

I don't know about anyone else, but I think this was an AMAZING episode. I read the manga and I have read the chapters that pertain to this episode when the chapters were released and I have to honestly say that the anime makes me AWE over Kuma WAY more than the manga ever did. (Don't get me wrong, the way the manga portrayed him still captured me in awe but the anime pushed it significantlly further)
I think they did a GREAT job portraying how tough Kuma REALLY is.
Regarding his moves from manga-to-anime, I think they did it perfect; sound effects, animation, impact….everything. I watched this episode 3 times and still managed to drop my jaw at some points, especially when it came to Zoro, he is fucking bad ass I swear. I cannot wait to see how the:
! SA arc
is animated! Two thumbs up for this episode. Next episode, I feel, will be JUST as good.
-
yea, next episode will be more kickass.
-
I thought the episode was very good. It had fluid animation [which made the fight scenes dope].
