Bioshock 2 Sea Of Dreams

Amusingly I remember somebody mentioning he looked like Bomberman XD
Also. Just a note but. Where did the whole Sea of Dreams thing come from? In the title I mean.

The trailer that you get after beating the game on PS3.
-
Well. I dunno if there's another topic but I finally started the first game. I'm really glad I did. Rapture actually seem like an awesome place to be going through this time. Big Daddies actually look ilke a threat this time around now that you're…..squishy.
-
Sounds to me like you really should've played that game first.
-
but then I would have been even MORE disappointed by the second. What is already a bad game would then be compared to a good game.
-
Now that I have beaten both I would say BioShock 2 is a better game.
BioShock 1 does some things a little better but BioShock 2 is overally an improvement. It really comes down to refined gameplay, broader enemy variety and enhanced RPG elements. The core of the game is simply stronger.
Anyway, as with BioShock 1, the game is clear 'my top 10 games ever' material. I hope we get a third game soon (as in within next 2 - 3 years ).
-
Aside from Bioshock 2's ease of using both Plasmids and Guns at the same time I REALLY don't see any improvement. It seems nothing more than a generic FPS with easily forgettable chars (aside from Sinclair.)
Half the time I didn't even FEEL like I was playing as a Big Daddy. Considering that was the big hype of the game. Rapture didn't seem fleshed out and most of the places seemed identical to each other. I'm not even an hour into the first game and it really does seem more like a lost city. I actually do feel fear walking down each corridor, hearing the random chatter and the stomping of the Big Daddies.
-

Yet if you play your card right all you need to beat this game is Drill, Camera, Hacker, Hypnotize and Telekinesis. Plus Decoy, Security Command and Cyclone Traps for additional fun. That's how I pretty much beat the game on hard.
BioShock 2 gives you a lot of tools to deal with enemies indirectly. Even more so than BioShock 1. No need for guns, really (Drill Specialist Gene Tonic!). Unless you decide that's the way you like to play the game. It's up to you.
And it's not a crime to be a shooter anyway. Spear Gun is pretty hilarious though. Especially with rocket ammunition.
-
I dont think I really used anything apart from the drill anyways XD Most of the weapons were good at first and then pittered away to nothing compared to the Drill. (There is even a tonic that limits you to only the drill etc)
And I didn't say it was a crime. I just said there isn't much that seperates it from any other shooter.

Couldn't hold a grudge, had lots of free time and I beat the game.
Really liked the ending (got the saviour ending [best]). I also nabbed every single-player trophy except beating the game on hard, not using vita chambers, and the secret andrew ryan one.
It was kinda lame that they just completely forgot about Tenenbaum (sp?) but she could be in DLC or…Bioshock 3.
This game is a complimentary fit to Bioshock 1. If, however, you don't nab every audio tape then you are really missing out on the story (since the ones here are more plot relevant than the last game).
@Cuddles:
As for the ending,
! I kind of liked it, especially since they give you a really heavy hint that you are, for all intents and purposes, still alive (First person view shifting to Eleanor, with you=FPV)
That's not what happens in the best ending. It's very definitive but I won't spoil it unless you want me to.
-
Went through this again on hard. (after playing Bioshock 1.) Its a good challenge. Well. The first three levels are. After that I was so overpowered the rest of the game was a cinch.
This time I harvested every little sister and killed off the main three. Gonna play it one more time to get all the trophies I missed (Saving Everything, Andrew Ryan, All Research. Annoyingly I was just a tiny bit away from getting 100% on that, No Vitas etc)
Also. For those who have played twice or more. Did you notice the change in the Statues in a certain part of the game? They change depending on if you save or kill them.
Now to rank up on the Multiplayer (VERY Tedious. Especially wit the almost constant lag.)
-
If anyone wants to play multiplayer, just send me a messsage. I've been playing it somewhat frequently the past few nights.
-

There's an Audio tape, I believe it's in the Amusement Park, where someone (I think it's Grace Hollingway) says that Rapture is "A Sea of Dreams" and Opportunity.
Anyway, I beat it in Normal, got the Best Ending. The only way I can see a Sequel is if it shifts forward ~ 20-30 years, to the 90's, where an Adult Eleanor and a crew return to rebuild Rapture using modern technology. Not exactly sure what it'd be about though, other than possibly military factions fighting over control of Adam or some BS…
Maybe a prequel would be better. Not a Prequel like the Multiplayer, but more a prequel where you take part in helping build the foundation of Rapture, and end up having to choose sides between Ryan and Fontaine. I actually liked Fontaine as a villain better; Sofia Lamb was a bit of a "Let's let the splicers do all the work, I'll just sit around and make threats from the safety of my underground base." Fontaine actually got out and did shit to sabotage you in addition to sending waves of Splicers after you. I mean, anyone who programs a kid to respond to a single phrase
! (Would You Kindly and go on a murderous rampage through a city is pretty fucking evil in my book.
-
Does anyone have the list of multiplayer levels handy? I'm 99% sure I've played every map yet I have still not unlocked 'Man About Town'
Edit: Nevermind, I got it when I reached Level 20

Here I am, 12 days later…
I saw all the endings on youtube! if you're talking about the 'I'll sacrifice myself so you can be free ending,' yeah, I think that is the best one. Kind of like letting Cid die in Final Fantasy 6. I got the perfect ending, where she takes in your essence so that you can continue doing good.
By the way, does Gil do or say anything if you spare him.
And I was so convinced that killing him was the right thing to do.
"Wait. I'LL GO OUTSIDE!"
That line pretty much did it for me. -
I don't believe he says anything if you save him. (I will be going through the game again soon however so.) You do however get a different statue later in the game (Delta is seen taking a tiny man out of the monster instead of just fighting it.)
-
If they do make a Bioshock 3, I'd almost be expecting an 'Rapture Meets The Surface' plot line. Which I'm meh about, because Rapture is the best part of Bioshock, but I've been pleasantly surprised before (including the better FPS system of Bioshock 2 compared to 1. The shock-to-speargun combo is almost as satisfying as the melee attack in Gears of War, but I digress.)
-
It was super. Little Big Sister in the end were way too cute. Do want. And how the hell they made those free Little Sisters so damn cute. I like this game a lot, shamely it was quite short and straight forwarded. Fukken loved Drill Dash. Totally Sea of Dreams.
-
Every playthrough I forget all about Drill Dash XD Apart from when Sinclair makes you do it at one point I never use it again.
Hopefully I'll finish Multiplayer today (Level 28, nearly 29.) as its REALLY starting to get to me now about how tedious it is. Team ADAM Grab and Capture the little sister are the best for getting ADAM quickly although if you're good at hacking/killing the Deathmatch is best (That's if you can stand the almost 90% chance of being disconnected during those ones.)
-
Hey Local-chan are you playing BS2 on Xbox or PS3? You can add me on the PS3 or anyone else on the matter, if you want to scrim together.
PSN id- Kaizoku-Syn
I already hit the platinum trophy for the game so its not too bad. I hit 40 a week after it came out.
The thing is theres a new DLC for MP and it's raising the max rank up to lvl 50. 2 new characters, weapons and trails and whatnot. So more lvl grinding. =D -
Damn XD Where were you this morning?
I LITERALLY just finished that crappy Multiplayer. Level 40 XD Wont be picking that up again lol (Unless Sinclair Solutions is like VERY cheap. AND they fix all the problems with it.)
-
How are you people getting to level 40? I can't even find enough people to connect to a normal match!
-
Played All weekend lol. Literally. It was painful. As long as its before 8pm Greenwich time you should be able to find people.
If all else fails. Ask somebody to come on with you and 'boost' (AKA. Play one on one and just hack each other's turrets for an entire match.) You'll go right up.
Gotta admit however. The ending to the Multiplayer is a lot more interesting than the crappy main game ending.
-
So… you are the one in this thread who likes the game the least and yet has played the game the most anyway?
Was great but I ain't going to play the single player again anytime soon and I have tried the multiplayer once and it seemed okey but I have plenty of other things to play.
-
I wouldn't say played the most. I only bothered with it cus I'd like to get plat before selling it.
-
MP wasn't that bad, but hey I know it has it's faults. I'm looking forward to the new sinclair pack and if you decide to pick it up again I'll obviously be online. =D
-
My main problem with it was the amount of time waiting. Most of the time you have to wait a few minutes to find a game. Once that is done you have to wait another minute for the countdown, half the time people will leave at this time.
After this is done you will then have to wait for it to load up. Where you have another 10 second wait. Half the time you WILL be disconnected (Not your fault either. It seems to be a common problem on Bioshock 2 online.)
I must admit I found it tedious once I got past level 20 too.
Although a tip for all you guys. Do NOT get worried when you, a low level person are put against higher leveled people. Half the time the higher levels are just as good if not worse than you.
-
I personally haven't trouble finding games here. Especially if you get the correct time. I mean in the US during the night and weekends theres usually a full game and easy to find. But I do agree the wait time could be cut down from a minute to 30 seconds.
-
Got 100% after going through it again on Hard with no Vitas. Suprisingly easy.
Anywho. I'm gonna try and sell it and was wondering if anyone wanted me to scan anything from the artbook while I've got it? Has some pretty cool stuff including the Alexander Monster's appearance.
-
Seriously, NO ONE is online with this game.
I beat Hard to Vita Chambers on my first playthrough, so I'm pretty content with the experience though.
MASSIVE SPOILERS
[hide]Okay seriously. Eleanor WAS FUCKING AWESOME!She was seriously the highlight of the entire game.[/hide]
