I think its Doflamingo. He just changed his clothing style.
@Superbear:
If this were say before Jaya I would agree with both of you but seeing as how Blackbeard has 10 members Luffy his mirror will most likely have ten members.
How do we know Blackbeard won't increase his numbers?
I mean… that if we break the Strawhats into rough 'combat' levels, then we have three levels of three characters. If we add anyone, it ruins this dynamic. I don't find this a compelling argument against someone joining, but a fair number of people seem to. But if we add three more, it stays largely the same in a relative manner. Kinemon has shown himself to be roughly on par with Brook, and we have Jinbe (we'll just say) as a contender. Which would leave one more 'slot' open at the lower rung.
Then I made a reference to the comment Luffy had near the start of the series that he wants at least ten crewmembers. The phrasing implying that he could end up with more.
Ahh it's nice to see people who understand the importance of that phrase, so many think that he wants Only 10 which would be weird seeing as he is aiming for a crew like Shanks and we have seen Shanks' crew contained more then 10 when it was first introduced.
Where do you think Garp's marine training camp/base would be?
@Fire Fist:
More than just the shoes, the posture the man is making and the height match Kuzan, too. Plus, it would make sense for him to still be around the island somewhere. He fought a duel on this island, lost, and quit the Marines in disgust. From Oda drawing him as a kid, he was implied to be homeless, so he really has nowhere in particular to go.
Other than him, it's either Joker or Vegapunk, with Vegapunk being the least likely, though not impossible. It's about time we got to meet the guy who was supposed to explain everything about DFs and was first mentioned almost 250 chapters ago…
I thought he would just ride around on his Bike taking out random Pirates to earn a living. Or he could possibly be relaxing where Garp has his training base seeing as he has shown respect/ admiration towards Garp
Marineford is a big place, we can't assume each character saw every other character in the war. Even if he briefly saw Law across the field of battle, his saying this is still possible.
EDIT: We can't presume to know Aokiji's history. Maybe he has a past with Law.
Yes Marineford is a big place but the whole war stopped while Law etc. were standing waiting for Luffy to be put in and Aokiji did also try freeze them into the bay so he was within a range to easily see him IMO.
And of course Aokiji could have some history with Law but I don't see it happening seeing as he already has history with a more important figure in the story.
Oda wouldn't give two characters the same pair of shoes, would he? I sat there and compared Aokiji's shoes in the DBF to the shoe pointed out in one panel at the end of this chapter. They're the same shoe! Why else would Oda devote a panel to the shoe? Hints, I say! Hints!
But Aokiji saw Law in the war, so why would he then say to Law "You have grown a lot" if he by what we can tell not really changed physical size since the war? The person has to be someone from when Law was growing up.
But then again he could mean grown mentally but that would be weird seeing as Law is on the ground in extreme pain….
Still Marco was shown time and time again bossing them around
Yeah i thought it was fairly obvious that Marco was the equivalent to Vice Captain.
True strength yeah. Garp did say "They couldn't handle two legends when referring to Rayleigh, I'd like to say he could be near strength wise to Whitebeard. But he did have a bit of struggle against Kizaru.
I think an SBS stated all 12 divisions commanders were around the same level, which I think would be near Admiral level. Given their performance in the war. But a few seem more Vice Admiral level.
@wolfwood I'd agree with the view of Roger being the top dog. It does feel right. But when I think of someone like Zoro or Rayleigh, I just can't see them being that far behind.
I know the supposed strength of Rayleigh, thats expected seeing as who he is, but we never saw him fighting in his prime, along with Roger and Whitebeard. The commanders I do agree to an extent they are between vice-admiral and admiral but there would have to be little differences in strengths, maybe down the track we will see them in proper battles when they are not concerned about Whitebeards health or rescuing Ace.
I'd say CoA to go with his knives. It kinda feels like he would throw them. He's already immune to slashes.
I think more of a Roger/Rayleigh power scale, or Shanks and his top guys.
Zoro will be a legend in his own right, but there may be just a few foes he has trouble with, likewise with Luffy there may be someone who isn't a good match up for him.
That's a given seeing as he aims to be the worlds strongest swordsman.
And I think it will be a lot like the Roger/ Rayleigh style then Whitebeard/ Marco (but again we don't know Rayleigh's, Roger's and Marco's true strengths.)
Eh, Kuma knew about Luffy, Ivankov did not. I would say Kuma was the real right hand man.
Ivankov was in prison?
We don't know yet, but he hasn't complained about Cola levels since the time skip.
Yeah that's what has got me thinking that his Beam (he used it the most out of attacks you would think use a lot of energy??) isn't powered by Cola.
Does Franky use Cola too shoot his beams? I'm thinking no because I don't think Vegapunk would use cola to power the pacifista's and he is using the same technology as in those to shoot the beam. So I think he uses the same fuel source as pacifista for the beam but possibly everything else runs off cola still.
That's kind of obvious for her ability. Like saying how will Luffy be able to attack CC. It does seem as if she's holding something back though.
Yeah I know there might be more, but everyone is jumping to these massive assumptions about her abilities, I'm just starting low and hoping to be suprised/ amazed and not let down.
Ok here is something that is confusing me. With the extreme speed Luffy is being shown with now I'm very excited too see a proper Zoro fight because if the "power levels" within the crew are to remain similar to how they were before the timeskip, Zoro will have to have a serious jump in strength, reflexes and resistant to be able to keep up to how close in strength he is to Luffy.
Oh and it seems that if a person doesn't have CoO it will be very hard for them too keep up with Luffy so as long as Luffy lands his hits it will be very one sided fights. And in this thinking (by me) Zoro will have some insane CoO abilities to keep him in a close level with Luffy.
Has anyone thought that Monet's ability is just her plain ability to fly? And gather information very effectively? (oh wait its too boring to be a guess on a fan forum…)
Oh man, a figure people don't know about. Everything going to go nuts over who they think it is, only to find out it's someone who makes sense
In before
Sabo
Doflamingo
Akainu
The dude Doflamingo was talking to before the timeskip
Hitler
You
Your mother
Zuko
Katara
Luffy
Hancock
Dragon
Dragon's wife
Law?
Monet
Kidd
Kaido
Big Mom
Chevrolet
Chevrolet
Chevrolet
and even perhaps..Chevrolet
How???When??Why???
I vote for it being Bolin.
Because Oda can afford to take a break every 5-7 chapters.
Ahhh so just the routine break. I don't keep track of when breaks are, so was curious if was for a special occasion other then Oda's mini holiday.
@Law:
They might help with the yonkou fight if they leave cc!
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
He did that so that Chopper could look at the stuff in the room which is one of the reasons he got monet to come out of the room.
Yeah I knew why he did it, I was just curious if anyone else noticed.
I wanna see why Law is falling over in pain and also if it's linked to Luffy falling over or if CC's gas did actually work on him.
Did anyone else notice Law left the bag with Chopper in it in the room Monet was in? (it's late and don't feel like sifting through 8 pages)
And wow CC's face was hilarious after the explosion.
And why no chapter next week?? :(:(:(
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
1. Nami wants to map all of the world. ALL. Even after Luffy becomes king, she will be travelling the world, discovering new places, new data. She is part of one of the only crews to reach Sky Island, so that makes her in a rare group to begin with, but a navigator on her level hasn't even been mentioned yet, not even in Whitebeards crew.
2. Usopp becoming a brave warrior of the sea is boring? That's the equivalent of Luffy becoming King of the Pirates boring, and we still have yet to find out what he intends to do to achieve this title. Knowing Oda and Usopp's gallant character, it will be big.
3. There's so much wrong with you generalizing Robin's dream that I don't know where to start. Robin wants to find the missing part of history, information that could be the key to unlocking the reason behind deaths of her WHOLE FUCKING ISLAND, including her mother.
I disagree that Franky's dream is pointless, but I do see your point that it's been done before, with generally the same ship. Sanji's dream has always been somewhat vague to me, and I feel I miss the importance behind it, but we likely haven't seen the potential behind it yet.
You have to look from a Cook's perspective; a sea where all of the fish in the world are gathered? Means endless possibilities of combinations of dishes etc.
Wait am I missing something? I thought the grave was on the battlefield….so, we don't even know who left any of the cups at all? Lol I'm sorry for my arrogance xD
Nah the grave is in the New World on some random island.
@CrystalShip Is Blatigo in the new world? I thought it was just in the Grand line.
But how did he get to that island?
With his supreme sense of direction and understanding of how to cross the calm belt and get to fishman island, which he then completely forgot when it came time for the reunion at Saobody.
You know, Whitebeard has a grave there as well. Could be someone having a drink for Ace, Whitebeard and himself.
That is downright preposterous to suggest that the 3 clips don't have any relation to Sabo!
I really want this to happen. Then Franky will discover to use blood as a power source, which will allow him to use haki since he has the blood of a haki user inside of him!
I like the idea that Sabo is Laboon. That would explain Laboon's fondness of Luffy!
With that statement, Luffy should now be able to use Fishman karate.
A question about Luffy's CoA:
We have seen him name when he uses it for some attacks, but have we seen him name it when he has used it in a defensive manner? the only time i can remember him using it in defence other then when he got bit was to block a roundhouse kick by Hody. In reference to both times I don't remember him saying the "Armaments; hardening" thing he says when doing elephant gun etc.
Oh and do people think he keeps up his CoA all the time like the "invisible armor" and then when he uses attacks e.g. elephant gun. he concentrates the CoA (if possible) into his fist in order for it to be even more effective?
Theres my question again, hopefully it changes the recent discussion of the thread back to the joy that is known as Haki.
It's rubber - if he had not been turned into rubber then Enel would have had a lot more fun with him.
Thats not entirely true, if something has the properties of rubber it will act the same way as rubber does, e.g. not conduct electricity.
But can we please stop talking about how Luffy's fruit works in the Haki topic? mainly because my questions about Haki got completely ignored :sad:
Did Luffy have seen Franky's laser already? He doesn't seems very surprised when Franky blasted that wall.
He hasn't seen Franky use it at all yet I don't think even when blasting the door because he was busy with smoker/tashigi.
Well no one can move without their feet, unless he got replacements (peg-legged Buggy!)
@gotta<3OP:
Glad I'm not he only one seeing the absurdity in that statement.
Now we can let that topic rest.
What do you guys think will be Robin's main power up?
We saw the huge legs and all, but that's hardly the best use for her devil fruit…
I thought her clones was the main power up? She can do the whole Mirage thing Nami does and the wax figures Mr.3 does. Im sure we will also see A LOT more new moves from everybody
@Superbear:
Since his introdcution, he has been at battle with his whole being a monster complex and after the two year skip he has come to terms with his inner monster and improved himself mentally and physically. You're right,so hopefully we'll be getting his soon because I don't think Chopper has anymore character issues that need to be fleshed out.
I just realised he could have something to do with curing people? He always wants to help out anyone he see's who is injured (except for people they have faught (usopp is an exception obviously)) I don't know how his attitude can change because that is one of the main reasons for him becoming a doctor, so possibly something that will help humanity in some way, a great discovery or something. But I guess i'm just rambling on about very unlikely possibilities.
How would you not notice your feat being burnt to such a degree?
Most of us meant Land Jinbe.
In water he owns Luffy even more than Sanji and Zoro, who would still lose
Oh on land there might be a slim chance Sanji could win. But in water he would be annihilated. I would almost feel sorry for Sanji if he lost to Jinbe under water, but then I would ask myself why he even attempted to beat him while he was in the water.
Oh and in reference to the whole Geppou mix with Soru talk. And how he moves fast underwater, he is just using the same technique; kicking the water (instead of air) with his extremely strong leg strength to make himself move faster then if he were to swim normally, in essence he is running under water. (in my opinion)
Nami pierced Luffy's skin with a needle in like chapter 30. I'm pretty sure that's about as weak a sharp attack as you get. There isn't any indication in the series at any point that Luffy is at all more resistance to slicing or piercing attacks than a normal human. If Oda meant for it to be so he would've conveyed it to us over the course of 670 chapters. Luffy takes piercing moves like a normal human.
The only time's i've seen Luffy have more resistance is in anime filler arc's haha. With that weird Eric guy and then when Luffy was vsing Zoro in the memory stealing arc.
Btw I support you in that Luffy has no difference in resistance to piercing attacks due to his df powers.
Wait what? people are saying Sanji could compete with Jinbei under water?
Next people will be saying Buggy could have actually killed Whitebeard….
Actually while I like the consistency of the manga, art wise, I feel with the lack of color when the manga has really detailed action scenes I tend to get very lost as to what is happening. I end up preferring the anime, not because it's superior, but because with color and animation I can tell what the hell is going on in a scene.
O-chan
This! I'm the same I only now watch the anime for the more complex fight scenes so i can completely understand who is doing what in the fight.
@Superbear:
Robin is number 6, which is strange because her nickname is Devil child and the mark of the beast is 666, but yeah she's number 6.
Ahhh yeah i was counting her as 7, I forgot to remove Luffy from the equation.
Wow I just went through the title's then I didn't notice there was even one for Usopp's return.
I wonder when Chopper and Robin will get theirs, I would have thought when Robin was saved she would get the 6th member title.
Robin= when she finds a very big clue to the true history or possibly something about Ohara.
Chopper= hasn't he already called himself a monster at FI? In his case I have no idea, only possibility is yours if he didn't say he was a monster on FI.
Luffy's skin isn't stronger than normal human flesh against sharp weapons. We've seen evidence of this countless times were fodder characters would random slice into Luffy, causing a splash of blood here and there. The only way Luffy's skin is more superior is against blunt attacks, objects and bullets, the elasticity slows downs bullets do they don't pierce his skin and then bounce back.
Unless the bullets are pointed like the ones Kreig was using.
And with reference to people saying his skin is tougher due to it being rubber, the skin in all its entirety is a very elastic organ. So the "he's rubber and stretchy, therefor his skin is tougher" can't hold true because normal skin is also stretchy just not the drastic extent shown by Luffy's rubber powers.
@Superbear:
When do you guys think the chapters titled "The Sixth" and "The Fifth" will show up?
My guess is that "The Fifth" will either show up in Punk Harzard or in another Vegapunk situation, somewhere that either Chopper's complex of accepting he is Monster turns up or when something of medical importance affects Chopper. Or something else could happen.
With "The Sixth" I have no idea.
Random question, who is the 6th member again?
@Alpha:
She went to the first half of the Grand Line to get stronger? Where did you get this information from? Any merit behind it? Also, If you're apart of a Yonko crew there's no need for you to run around and get stronger by going through the Grand Line, you stick in the New World and nowhere else. A Yonko and their crew don't have time to waste on fodders in Paradise, simple. Baby Den Den? Guess she doesn't have enough common sense to call her "Mom" and say oh crap Moria took us hostage or give off there location before vanishing.
In regards to the Baby Den Den it has been stated numerous times that they only have a short range. So i doubt it would be able to reach from the florian triangle to the new world…..
@Naruto:
Lol how did I forget he was weak against water. It's sea water not regular water. How come Luffy could touch Magellan with Mr.3's wax even though Magellen is a Logia Type DF(I think). You only can touch logia with haki and Luffy didn't know what haki.
For some reason the slime couldn't cross the lake so I assumed water was a weakness of the slime.
I remember in the spoiler thread I think maybe CCC's translation stated that CC said the slime didn't "like" water or something along the lines of that so that was the reason for flinging itself across.
@nodensuke:
Hmm..I must say, I didn't expect a "mom joke"..I was kinda being serious..
Good form though, good form..
Yeah now i'll be serious. I think she will be between Whitebeard size and Giant size.
@nodensuke:
So how big do you think Big Mom really is??
Big enough to be your Mom?
He did get a replacement one and could still kick with it. I know it's a huge handicap and would make him far weaker but I wouldn't go as far as to compare it to Mihawk becoming unable to wield a sword at all. Zeff was taken down by freaking Gin.
Besides, what was his best hype anyway? Denting steel and breaking stone? Luffy broke steel in East Blue. I guess Oda could retcon that however much he wants but it doesn't make sense to me that Zeff was ever a high tier pirate.
He didn't get a "replacement" he got a piece of wood. He lost his foot which then reduces the amount of power you can put into the ground and also a very crucial thing in balance. So you can say he got A lot weaker once he lost his foot.
Wow the one by Haruto looks very similar to Oda's drawings of Robin. And some of them are absolutely hilarious seeing how other mangaka would draw them (no disrespect to any of them, they all insanely skilled)
Zeff at his prime could have been easily one of the big shots of the past generation, proper Shichibukai level or even higher.
We don't know much about him, but Krieg pissed his pants the moment he realized who he is, while Mihawk's name didn't ring a bell at all (despite being a Shichibukai). Means even a weakling like Krieg, who doesn't know "$%§, heard about his fame and power.
That said, I think Sanji was around "crippled Zeff's" level at Baratie, but obviously surpassed him after the TS. By the end of the series he will be just as famous, maybe even with the "red leg" ephitet. Meanwhile it really suits him better, with Diable Jambe and all.
I always thought he would have kept the "black foot/leg" epithet that Sentomarou called him. But the red foot would be fitting or maybe something to do with flames (anything related to red that imposes fear into others.)
Hilarious chapter.
Loved how Franky and Robin were taking out the randoms without even looking really.
Luffy's expressions when Smoker first tries to hit him with his Jutte and on a few other panels in their little skirmish were absolutly hilarious.
And of course the final panel.
P.s. some of the comments prior to mine have also made it a rather funny time reading the chapter/ thread. :p
