Or they could have just.
Y'know.
Checked the whole ship LOL.
Oh ha ha.
I had a discussion with Smudger about this earlier and suggested him to study and contemplate more about the topics he wanted to discuss. It's a controversial enough subject, but I'll keep that a secret for now. He's up to composing a big essay about it alright. Let's see if it's going to challenge or change anyone here.
goes back to hide-hole
Is it something we talk about all the frickin' time, LOL? Or something that we at least talked about recently? Because I feel like it must be. :P
Anyway, it's cool, I'm open to whatever dialogue Smudger wants to facilitate. :)
Can we please not use the pronoun "it" for people thank you.
Who's fault is that exactly?
Robin's. Because at that point in the series she had frickin' agency and clung to a bridge with her frickin' teeth.
This is hard. I don't read nearly enough manga. It's easier for me to consume anime, which has admittedly shaped me as a person, more so than manga.
But maybe that's a weird thing to say, considering that I've read all of One Piece (and most of Naruto and Bleach). This is just inspiring me to read more manga! But now that I'm in school, it's going to be a bit harder. =__=
I'd like a day like that.
You should write about the day, or paint it, or something, so that it sticks.
I have pictures. But you're right. I should do an art project when I have free time. n__n
Today was the most beautiful day of my life.
Not necessarily the best or the most eventful, but it was definitely the most beautiful.
Just watched As the Wind Rises today in theaters (subbed).
I cried. I experienced real emotion. I'm so happy. Today has been so beautiful.
It would have been funny if Doppio had been the real villain and Diavolo had been the brutish, protective personality.
Diavolo was all about dissociating himself from his own identity and his own past, but it was executed horribly.
Anime fan A: Moe is great! I love moe! Good thing there's a lot of moe! I will show my appriciation for this by buying a whole lot of it!
Kyoto Animation: Yay!Anime fan B: Anime is ruined because of all the moe!
Psycho Pass: All the what now?
Anime fan B: If only there was some current show out there that was willing to be creative and artistic. All the shows these days are so dang stagnant!
Kyousogiga: Excuse me? I'm trying my best over here…
Anime fan B: Anime was so much better back from when I remembered it! It's just too bad that there's ABSOLUTELY NOTHING of that quality anymore. Ah well, time to go watch Bebop for the 500th consecutive time.Producers: Oh. Clearly there's absolutely no one interested in these interesting new shows we tried to sell. Good thing we have this totally loyal demographic!
Outliers do not define a scenario LOL. Yes there are nuggets of gold every year, same with the Western market, but we're clearly describing a trend here.
The problem is that I picked Charmander to do it, a Blaze one. What in monster or dragon can have 3 different abilities?
Heliolisk I'm pretty sure.
I just imagined Lucario with a Protoss voice. "FEEL THE POWER OF AURA." It works so well, LOL.
I'll be sure to sneak into the courtroom to get a good seat, hoho.
My mom and step-dad said the same thing, LOL.
lol, my mom got one of those once and she hated it.
Can you imagine though.
TheCrystalShip on a jury.
@RobbyBevard:
In a series that had love potions, the ability to transform into anyone, and amnesia spells… there were probably some unfortunate abuses going on.
Well, it would obviously allow for more freedom than is yet possible in our non-fictional universe. But you're right, with more freedom comes the power to abuse people in whole new ways! Such is the case with most any technological advancement. Really, this Harry Potter stuff needs to be critically examined and explored. But I'm sure the answer will always come out to, "I'd rather have the option than not have it at all", at least for me.
Tonks and Lupin is like the ultimate queer pairing.
Because you just know that Tonks took advantage of her Metamorphmagus powers. And Lupin's whole werewolf thing was basically just an allegory ("my little problem").
@Toraish:
If Smudge wants to start a discussion on something that he aims to "change people's thoughts about", he would need to go far deeper into the whole set of cultural and intellectual stimuli and processes mainly responsible for the commonest conventions that people have about such a matter and to question them, which doesn't really happen all that often.
I do that every day and nobody listens to me, LOL. Not about free will, but you know.
Well, except my sociology teacher. Who has boundary issues.
Last night, I had like a three hour long conversation about this with my biggest anime nerd friend. And we broached so many different topics, it was just awesome. I wish it had been recorded. Like literally, maybe we should just start a podcast and talk about this stuff all the time, then release it over Tumblr. More likely, I'll have it written down in a book someday, because I'm way too lazy to figure out all the recording and editing software (again). Though I've done it before, so maybe it's possible. In fact, maybe I should just start a Youtube channel, LOL.
webcomics and casual comics are where it's at anyway
LOL NOOO the bane of my existence! :P
The only female from the books I could see with Harry would have been Tonks (she was only 7 years older, closer to him than Remus in age) but she was interested in older soft spoken men
What in the world.
They can't make a Wonder Woman film because such a thing would directly go against everything that Hollywood stands for.
It would literally break Hollywood. If they do try to make a Wonder Woman film, it's going to be a disaster.
@Toraish:
And more importantly, have you not read any of the senior-made posts on the last five pages of this thread? :V
LOL Dryish abort abort.
Right. You don't give children weapons. That seems to be a fair comparison.
Okay now please tell me how that is comparable to brutally murdering people for exhibiting emotion in the face of a war.
He gave that power to a fucking moron. Anyone who spent ten minutes with Spandam could understand that. The dude was evil
And yet it was Spandam's incompetence, not his "evilness", that actually caused the Buster Call.
I still don't understand how any of Aokiji's mistakes, or lapses in judgment that allowed other people to do things that he wasn't even present to witness, are comparable to Akainu brutally murdering his subordinates for attempting to desert the battlefield, and attempting to kill his only subordinate who had the sense and courage to tell him that they should pull out of the battle.

T](http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/02/01/gabourey-sidibe-tranny_n_4708422.html)his story is whatever. But just look at the comments.
Do people really, truly lack the level of understanding necessary to understand that the T-word is a slur? It's physically hard for me to say that word IRL.
@Light:
Everyone… today something big has happened. Something I've been dreaming about for a long long time.
Yes… The same sort of thing just happened to me...
I got a jury summons.
If Aokiji, whom I dislike, be in the position of Fleet Admiral I would've argued the same.
Wait what why. At least Akainu is blatantly antagonistic and killed Luffy's brother.
I like how this thread has finally turned to the one thing that really matters in this world.
@NER:
Few weeks ago I tried eating a little more after I felt full, and I ended up throwing up. -.-
And its not like I ate a lot anyway, if you looked at the plate you'd think no one ate anything of it. >_>
Ehhh well I've come close to that. Don't hurt yourself, alright? xD
I've found that your stomach kind of expands as you eat more food, so you get hungrier more often, and you can eat more at each sitting. The only problem is when you can no longer sustain growth (because of lack of funds) and then you kind of plateau. I always plateau at around 130, I've never been able to reach 135. But back then, I was working from 110 or 115. Since I've been able to sustain my current weight, if I jump right into my old regimen, I might be able to reach the coveted 140.
@NER:
Thaaank yoooou D;
Maybe it don't show in pictures, but I am really skinny its ridiculous and I need to do something serious about it eventually. :/
That single word is the reason why I never gain weight LOL.
Though I did get up from 115 late last year.
@CCC:
Hmm. I'm the same height and weigh just 3 pounds more than your "good" weight.
We're basically the same person.
It's even worse with Dryish. And even even worse with Print. I guess that I'm not as unique as I thought.
Another thing worth noting is that I was about to say I was underweight, due to a high metabolism. That is, until I remembered that metabolism doesn't determine weight loss or gain. Because if there's anything I've learning from reading Cracked.com it's…
It technically does, but to such a small degree that it doesn't really matter. You could balance out a "high metabolism" with a spoonful of peanut butter each day.
A bit contradictory, though, no?
That's my name, don't wear it out.
Speaking of BMI, is it true that someone just completely pulled the idea out of their ass, well aware that it had no real scientific basis?
It has a "scientific basis". But the guy who developed it, explicitly stated that it was never to be used as a metric for determining health, and that it was meant only for population studies, not to make individual diagnoses. It also doesn't follow basic scaling laws. And it was subjectively altered during the late 80's or early 90's, turning a shitload of normalweight people overweight, and overweight people obese, literally overnight.
I'm not sure what I weight at the moment. 170-175 pounds/77-80 kg? I was weighing much less until recently. My mother made sure to fatten me up a bit, by constantly offering me caloric and fatty foods all the time. :P
That would probably be good for me, LOL.
@The:
At least in One Piece I can tell who a person is by appearance alone, something hard to do with a lot of series. Like I know Kuma because of his appearance, I know Doflamingo because of his appearance, Chopper because of his etc.
Well… There is one demographic that is an exception to this rule... LOL...
If it's a crock of shit, then why are you still using it to determine if you're weight is normal or too low? ;P
Because it's a stat, LOL. Even if it's a fallacious stat like BMI or IQ, it looks good on the back of the card.
Oh I forgot about weight. Like I said, I'm 5'8'' or 5'9'' and I weigh somewhere around 125 pounds. 130 pounds when I've been good. Which means that my BMI (which is a crock of shit BTW) is usually around 18.5, which is RIGHT on the cusp between underweight and normalweight.
Wow… And I thought Wii Fit Trainer had it bad.

I genuinely thought that this was going to be Lucario porn.
@Monkey:
You and Taboo both <:)
But that ship sailed awhile ago.
Okay, all I'm saying is that my opinion of an entire quarter-century rests in your hands.
@Monkey:
I get what he's saying, aside from his explanation.
Monkey King if you do not become a creator I will be highly disappointed in the early 21st century.
I think Lucario is now Alpha and Omega Tier just by the sheer amout of butthurt* he inspires.
Why do they not realize that Lucario's inclusion does not discount Mewtwo's inclusion?
@Light:
No need to mention it, I just wanted to clean up Reverie discussion!
Tough I sure wouldn't mind if having a successful thread would bring me the Senior Member rank… :ninja:
Y'all realize that I was the one who introduced the topic in the Reverie thread and manipulated you into starting this thread so that Wolfwoof would compliment me and we could have witty banter about my inherent superiority, right?
I thought this was interesting. Just some words by Miyazaki.
There's a whole thread about this in the media section. :P
So it's kind of the same problem they've got at Marvel comics.
I'm glad that somebody already made the comment that I was going to make.
There is no longer any such thing as fiction that is not fanfiction, because the fans have grown into creators.
I want to discuss a lot of topics, and focus on hot topics, but can't help but feel I will be pigeon holed into some awful category as a means to brush over said topic. But at the same time I wonder why this is so, and what the driving force is behind the counter argument or response.
Well I'm not sure exactly what you mean, because I have no idea what topics you're talking about, but if you really want to do something, it's best to just go for it. :)
Unless it's unabashedly fucked-up. :P
Did anyone ever figure out the narrative behind the Subspace Emissary?
^ Yeah pretty much this. I've actually spent some time planning it out before but I got bored LOL.
We're going to protect children from potential creeps and pedophiles by giving them mandatory genital examinations!
