It could be we don't know, but if a character has an ability that relates to time in any sort of way in a story, you need to sit up and pay attention because that character is going to be very important.

Ok. But the problem with Bonney's ability is that she is very powerful if she can apply her hax to the guy she's fighting. But if it didn't work, it is hard to imagine if her ability can compliment her combat techniques to do more damage or be more effective. It is hard to be creative with her.

But just cause you dont like mentor characters does not make jinbe a good one. Thats like saying Tom Brady sucks just cause you dont like football or Quarterbacks.
Nonono, you misunderstand me. Mentor characters are cool and all and I like Jinbe and Rayleigh as mentor characters. I just don't think they should follow the crew along and help them on their journey. Mentors teach and then let go.

The aspect of Jinbe Im looking forward to the most is the old campaigner a character trope I love that we have been missing in One Piece. Luffy has had several mentors along the way Garp, Shanks, Rayleigh but we needed one on the crew. sure Brook could fuffil that role but hes too off the wall usually. Give him a chance his interactions with Luffy pre-plaza battle cracked me up. The scene between him and luffy at the end of the last chapter was brilliant one of the better request scenes in my opinion Luffy looks so happy beside Jinbe
That's one of my problems with Jinbe actually. I don't like his mentor mentality.

He could stretch every part of his body, variable lengths. The way in which he could use this power is as follows:
Robin can create a legion of body parts.
Perona can create ghosts as well as become one herself.
Bonney can change the ages of people

shirahoshi is told by the sea kings and her own father she is responsible for getting noah repaired. The only way to repair it is with the wood from the tree of adam. Which is found at the end of the world (the black market doesn't have the large amount needed that it obtained from the war from long, long, ago). Luffy suggest he could take her. The idea is considered impossible. But the king suggest a way to fix her inability to travel with them by using the tamatebako. Something her mother used long ago. But it turns out caribou stole it (along with all the rest of the treasure in ryugo palace).
How jinbe does not~
jinbe agrees to join but leaves the crew after luffy destroys fishman island after completely disregarding jinbe's suggestion and doing what he wants. Jinbe actually becomes luffies enemy after the incident.
I can't say much more then that without ruining the surprise of why luffy destroys the island
