@Shiebs Luffy called her Bonney...
Rooting for it, just so that my 10 year old prediction might come true
My Bonney prediction a decade ago might come true after all, i had given it up when Yamato seemed like a done deal (which should have been)..
Most have been disappointing to me to be honest:
Law: For me his newly straight faced comedic relief does not really work, but that´s ok. At least he had a lot of development in PH/Dressrosa, and the dynamic with him and Doflamingo is one of the most well executed characterizations in the entire manga. Powers still very interesting.
Kid: For the fact that Oda had planned the most with Kid, he was certainly disappointing. Never truly grew out of the tsundere character, very annoying to me. Nevertheless, at least the partner dynamic with Killer was noteworthy. His powers, rather the lack of creativity of Oda, was also disappointing.
Apoo: From beginning to end the personification of annoying, which is weird since i usually like quirky.
Hawkins: Empty hype, and the fact that his prediction referred to himself felt very cheap.
Killer: Same as Kid, i liked the SMILE subline though.
Drake: Missed opportunity, i think others wrote enough about him.
Outside of Wano:
Capone: Went from least likeable to probably most likeable Supernova in WCI.
Urouge: Not much to say, i hope he will become relevant.
Bonney: I had high hopes for her with the setup of Shabondy and post war, i hope it will become relevant for the Strawhats.

Yep, similar to Jinbe's case. I dunno about Bonney though. I think she'd fun to be around Luffy, at least.
You think so. Jinbe was specifically asked by Luffy, and simply postponed to take care of a specific and finite task, which then lead him on the path of Luffy anyway.
Yamato, Kinemon and Momo all fall under the Vivi/Shirahoshi category.
Well once again, I dunno about Kinemon and Momo, but I'd figure Yamato is also wanting to postpone joining Luffy for now to at least get a feel of Oden's path in Wano before that path leads her elsewhere. I wouldn't agree that Yamato is the same as Vivi or Shirahoshi though, since Vivi and Shirahoshi weren't delaying any voyages to sea for the sake of following a certain path from what I understood.
Really though, I find it odd how people talk of Yamato's choice as if it will prevent her from ever meeting Luffy again, even though Oden's path involved him going to Laugh Tale with the future Pirate King and as if Yamato can't get curious about the missing info Oden had in his journal, like about Joy Boy. Almost as if people don't want Yamato to be happy after all her years of being trapped and not being able to have long-term friends of her own.
At this point, I think it's not just a matter of "if", but "when."
Yamato was extended the same offer as Momo and Kinemon, namely if they want to become pirates again, they are always welcomed on board of the Sunny.
That´s the same offer Vivi has gotten imo, if she ever wants to sail the seas again, she can always do it, and she will always be called a nakama/shipmate, hence my comparison. And Shira also falls under that, namely that Luffy wants to show her the world above the sea.
All are promises without any specific expiration date, or certainty that it will happen during the journey to get the One Piece. Jinbe on the other hand was: let me just do this one thing, and i will be on the ship immediately afterwards. It´s definitely different if you ask me, especially if you consider that Yamato will need a few years to travel through Wano (as did Oden) but the main journey of the Strawhats will soon come to an end, so the respective promises with the characters of each island will be fulfilled afterwards, maybe in an epilogue seeting even (Vivi, Aisa, Shirahoshi, Rebecca, Coby...).
Of course the Strawhats will meet Yamato again, but i doubt the context will be that she will have finished her Wano travels and is now ready to see the world.

Bonney was a far-fetched theory of mine after Shabondy and Akainu´s words after the war, but now that her relationship with Kuma was revealed and Kuma was already saved, it became more than unlikely.
Yamato did not join, so we can talk about Bonney again...
Blackbeard´s supposed inactivity makes sense for his personality, he ain´t going after things when he does not feel he has the definite upper hand, hence the DF hunting session for example. Of course you can argue he took a risk in Marineford but i don´t think at least for him it has been depicted as such.
Akainu´s inactivity is more disappointing i agree. He turned from an absolute justice terminator to more or less a bureaucrat which is of course more realistic but nevertheless still disappointing. I have the hope, as faint as it might be that his disagreements with the Gorosei/WG will lead to something substantial but it seems unlikely.
The entire Greenbull thing did not make sense and the execution was shoddy.
So, in my eyes a very interesting chapter. First of all, a surprising turn of events: Jinbe and his old crew are working under Big Mum but he wants to cut the ties with her now. Good thing that Luffy declared war against Big Mum just now, hence the situation/discussion about Jinbe joining should be resolved, at least for now. Next thing, Pekom is actually a hybrid of a lion and a turtle. To tell the truth though, i didn´t quite understand whether this ability is a df or something else. Furthermore, he at least can use B-Haki but i just presume at this point that he can´t use K-Haki, or else he would have avoided Caribou´s shots. After seeing in the war that only the Commanders of Whitebeard´s crew could use Haki it isn´t far-fetched that Pekom and the other guy are at least important subordinates of Big Mum and not just fodder. Finally, the surprise at the end of the chapter. We get to see G5 Marines who were foreshadowed by Aokiji more than a year ago, Tashigi, who improved her abilities and the new style is also nice and of course Smoker who is waiting for the Strawhats as a VA. I´m looking forward to the fight between him and Luffy.
