RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
OMG Sonic is sooooooooooo cooool.
Seriously though, the spinny-checkpoint marker is in that stage, that = win.
Is it wrong that I still can't understand a single word of that shitty song?
-
RE: The Nintendo Thread
Is there even any reason for them putting out two? I thought the VC releases were 100% profit, afteral. Why don't they just put out a bunch of games at once?

RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
Wolf's Up+B is Firefox without the fire. His Forward+B is Fox Illusion, just upwards, but I guess you could call that a different attack. His Standard B is a biggerr, slower laser and his rerflector just looks different.
He's a clone.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
His Up+B is exactly the same as Firefox (though maybe without the multi-hits). What is so hard to understand about that?
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
Two Fire Emblem characters is enough. Marth was the first lord, Roy was outdated, Ike is the newest one, so you do the math.
-
RE: Yugioh Abridged
I quite liked this one. It probably would've been funnier if I had actually seen the movie though, since I had no idea what was actually supposed to be going on.

@Komrade:
Basically Saloma, people wanted a…ahem, different "Claus" playable.
I see… Still would make no sense for Claus to get in over Ness, but whatever.
In other bullshit news: http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=139625
Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the ultimate result of the largest and most ambitious project ever in video game history, spanning several companies, dozens of game designers, and hundreds of artists ranging from animators to composers. The amount of content in Brawl eclipses that of any other game ever made, ever.
The original game had a roster of 8 starting characters, 12 total, and a virtual non-existent single player game. Melee had 26, 20 if clones are discounted; it also added a bare-bones adventure mode, simple though detailed trophy collection, and a handful of side events. Brawl has 41 playable characters. Brawl has a single player campaign that is larger than many entire games. Brawl has more side events, that can be played co-op, even online. The combat has been expanded in every dimension, from things as major as the revamped and vastly superior air dodge system and detailed final smashes to things as petty as multiple taunts. The entire multiplayer experience is online.
The notion that any fan of Super Smash Bros. could possibly be unhappy with this game is not ridiculous, it is completely absurd. It is fundamentally a logical impossibility.
Brawl's roster sucks because you think it sucks.
You have brought this upon yourself, with your irrational hype, deeply unrealistic expectations, and revolting sense of entitlement. Your total ignorance of the game design process is matched only by your absolute lack of respect for the people involved. The self-sacrifice of those individuals, in particular Masahiro Sarukai, continues to be completely ignored in favor of asinine "demands" for arbitrary characters to be put in the game. The self-imposed misery you wallow in is not ironic, but just: it is the immediate result of your hypocrisy.
Masahiro Sakurai is in contention for greatest game designer of all time, and the staff assisting him with this game is incredibly talented and dedicated. Their passion for this game will never be known or fully understood by you. As long as you continue to cling to the childish and egotistical illusion that you could somehow make a Super Smash Bros. game better than those who have defined–and then redefined--what that is to begin with, you will lack the respect that is required to appreciate the game.
Nothing I say will cause these bitter bystanders to change their flawed perspective. The purpose of this is to simple explain to them why they are unhappy, so that they may not be confused when their own anger and sadness contrasts with the emotions of those who are about to play this game for several upcoming years, thousands of hours each. I myself will play with unaltered bliss.
So may you all.
Got linked to this on another forum to prove the point that complaining is meaningless. So many words, so many hypocracies.

RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
I guess that's what "He can even fly by farting" meant.
Nice to see a Claus costume for Lucas. Never understood how people wanted him as a full character, though I haven't played much of Mother 3.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
WTF :< I'll post it once it is up again. Stupid Youtube @_@
OK it is back up.
Y_imqRotQvw
I was wondering how those would be in the game. I always assumed they were Subspace cutscenes. Glad to see they aren't though, since it'd take forever to see all the characters.
Though, I wonder what happens when you're fighting more than one person?
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
Don't forget Roy. He was a strange character inclusion, especially since Fire Emblem wasn't exactly mainstream.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
His PK Fire is comparable to Roy's Dancing Blade (whatever his version is called) since it's the same attack, only with a slightly different flavor.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
Toon Link's a complete clone? What about Ness and Star Wolf?
Lucas is the clone.
If you count one move different as a Luigi, then Lucas is Ness' Luigi, because of PK Freeze.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
I was just waiting for him to die, really. There were tons of chances for him to attack and instead he just stood there, trying to use PK Freeze.
-
RE: Ctrl+Alt+Del: The Animated Series?
To be fair about that "Tim looks exactly like Ethan" thing that one article had, Tim's design of himself has changed drastically since the begining. At first, he didn't look anything like Ethan.
I've kept up with the comic for… years now. I don't really know why, looking back, since I've noticed that the jokes are ruined by too much dialogue. Seeing the animated series made me kind of hate the comic.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
Was it just me, or did Lucas' Psi Magnet cause damage?
Anyway, I fucking love that cutscene.
Edit: Pretty sure it's Porkey inside of a machine he built. You fight it as the last boss in Mother 2 and 3.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
I like the Coin Shooter, but I can't choose between it and K. Rool.
A mode like that one, telling you to switch controllers, however…

RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
opinions are opinions
you guys are killing the buzz that is this thread
GENO GENO GENO LETS TALK ABOUT GENO
Or not. I remember seeing a pic of Marth's Final Smash (involved him slashing Wario and a FE-style health bar was below him). Anyone know if it's actually real?
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
I'm sure the game will be loads of fun to play, no doubt about it. From what information was leaked so far, it seems like Toon Link, Falco and Ness are blatant clones.
Lucas would be the clone, not Ness.
Don't have any idea how Wolf could be a clone of Snake, though I've never played a Star Fox game with him in it. Anyone?
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
@Komrade:
so, not counting the dojo guys we got:
Gay Blue Haired Girly Man
Captain Fucking Falcon
Game and Blah
Fagco
F.A.G (Fag Ass Gay)
Ganondoof
Kiddier Then Pokemon Toon Link
Not Mewtwo
Fagglypoot
Luigay
PissUGHWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
AND NO GENO EVEN KNOW HE WAS SUPPOSE TO BE IN THIS GAME!
GUWARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Sakurai should burn in hell along with nintendo, sega, konami, iwata, and everyone else involved with this game and future installments because this roster sucks and there is no one I wanrted and not even the starting roster is cool anymore because the new characters are so bad and everything else looks pointless nayway, like stickers and trophies, and godamnit!
…Please say you made that up.

RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
Oh, forgot to mention: Ness saving Lucas and making him look like a pussy is what makes the SSE great.
Edit: ^ That'd be too badass for this game.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
Ike/Meta Knight/Marth is probably the lamest team up, no matter how much I like all three of them.
Fucking hell, people. This thread went from page 317 to 345 in 12 hours!

New VC games tomorrow:
1080 Snowboarding – N64 (1000 pts.)
...thats it.
…Well...
At least I got what I wanted.

RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
@Cyringohn:
At E for All, gimpyfish noted that Ike was almost unplayable because of how slow he was.
Strange, I didn't notice it back then, but I do now with these new vids. Ike almost seems like he's going in slow motion, or something.
Dedede's Final Smash is a lot stronger than I thought it'd be. I assumed they started charging from the ground, instead of falling from the sky. Also didn't think about how far they'd send you flying, so it seems really broken when watching it in motion.

RE: 1/26 "10% Survival Rate! Satori, the Mantora Master!" Dub Discussion
Was it just me, or did this entire episode look like shit?
Anyway, I love Satori's voice. One of the best voices, I say.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
Diddy was one of the more obvious newcomers, but just seeing him in the game got me excited.
The biggest shock for me was probably Ike, only because I'm sure nobody was suspecting there to be a newcomer that day.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
The Squirtle line can just go to hell, really.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
Fourth gen would've made the most sense, but I'd prefer not playing as Infernape. Ivysaur evolves into Venusaur, which is one of my favorite pokemon ever, so I like being able to play as it. Still kind of confused about that whole weight thing, but hopefully it's strong enough to hold on its own.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
@Komrade:
I remember alot of people on Pokemon Forums wanting Misty playable, plus alot of other human Pokemon characters. But…they wanted Misty to not even use Pokemon.
Lol.
How does that even make sense? I remember some tards wanting Charizard playable, and everyone laughed at them… Yeah, you can imagine how stunned I was when the Pokemon trainer's Pokemon were shown. It was just like the Leafeon thing in Diamond and Pearl...
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
I think the biggest "WTF" for me was Pokemon Trainer. His concept is still freaking awesome.
Back when Melee came out, I thought of a Pokemon trainer character. Of course, it was really retarded and did things like stand there, while his Pokemon do all the work, and use Pidgeot to get back on stage. The actual Pogeymanz Trainer is a lot better concept, I think.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
@Cap'n:
I remember I was like "oh fuck I knew it, oh well"
"first thing I'm doing in MY MUSIC is turning LIVE OR LEARN fucking off forever:
Exactly how I reacted, though not quite as calmly.
When the first trailer came out, I was more excited about everyone else than I was for Snake. It just seemed way too akward for him to be in this kind of game. Even now, it still is, but at least the shock is gone.
-
RE: One Piece: Unlimited Adventure (Wii)
Why did they translate Nose Gun, but not giraffe? That's kind of a weird decision… Not really complaining, but I've never seen any fans ask for them not to translate giraffe.
At first, I was kind of neutral about Kaku's voice, but when he started pronouncing the names of his attacks, it was just perfect. I can't wait to get this game.
Edit: Also, is it just me, or was he yelling "Shuriken!" a lot?
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
She looks like Soren's and Illyana's lovechild. I have no idea who would want to play as her.
-
RE: The Nintendo Thread
@Tommy:
A Kid Icarus sequel?
Well, here's hoping it's good!! Never played the original. >_<
You've saved yourself hours and hours of throwing your controller at the screen.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
@Cyringohn:
"guys i didnt want to bother shrinking down ridley and making an awesome character out of him, so i gave you DARK SAMUS"
"And also: HAHAHAHAHA NO LITTLE MAC"
Seriously, playable Dark Samus would be the definition of gay.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
@Cap'n:
A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! .
Um… Yeah? I wanted Lucas, not any other Mother character.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
I guess those vids confirm Kirby's FS never changes, like any of us thought otherwise.
Lucas looks… alright. Still a huge dissapointment for me though.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
Guess it's confirmed Lucas uses a stick, then. Looks exactly like Ness' bat, but hopefully it's somewhat different.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
Well, I checked their actual weights, and Ivysaur's still heavier. Eh, whatever, maybe that means Ivysaur's faster. I'm glad they gave him Razor Leaf, instead of something stupid like Take Down. Something I wonder though, what use does Bullet Seed possibly have? If it just goes straight up, your opponent would have to constantly be jumping. Seems kind of useless.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
Ivysaur is still larger than Squirtle, and its bulb is definately not light. It's just really strange for Squirtle to be so much higher on the list than Ivysaur. Not like it matters, I won't be worrying about it when I'm actually playing.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
Why is squirtle heavier than Ivysaur? I don't really remember their actual weights, but that just seems wrong.
Also, I completly forgot about Ivysaur for some reason. I'll be using him a lot, depending on how the "stamina" thing works. If the reprecussions of not switching aren't too great, I'll probably just stick to it the whole match.
Edit: Also, this is probably my favorite new stage. God is this thing great.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
@The:
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
Character I like vs Character I hate
Yeah, it actually does.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
Ridley's size is no problem, since they showed him in the Melee intro. I'm pretty certain he's gonna be in this game.
As for that whole Geno vs WW Link thing: WW Link > Geno
-
RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl ptII
If we're still talking about music, I'll have to kill someone if Saria's Song (by itself, not in some Frankenstien song) isn't in this game. But, it was in the last one, and with My music, I find myself not worrying at all about it.
As for those pictures… I guess it looks pretty authentic. Doesn't tell us anything though.
