RE: New official Viz media topic V2.
My mistake, and yeah, I doubt Bleach will get a speed up. Then again, I said the same thing about One Piece. And only minutes later, King Calamari has to come and nuke me completely with posting Viz's announcement.
The difference in these situations is that One Piece is:
1. Good
2. Getting better, or at least staying consistent
3. Gaining fans.On the other hand, Bleach is:
1. Terrible
2. Getting worse
3. Rapidly losing fans -
RE: The "Shueisha" Thread
If they can only be from JUMP, then Toriko rounds off the big 3. Outside of JUMP, fairy Tail would still be the third.
I was so pumped to see that Bleach was in the bottom 5 and Oumagadoki was getting a colorspread, but Beelzebub is below Bleach.

RE: Sub-forum for One Piece Collectibles/Merchandise
I believe this is a good idea. As of right now there are over 53,000 posts in the 6 collectibles threads, this doesn't even count posts in the other threads people have made to discuss collectibles. 53,000 is more than any sub-forum in the creativity section. Along the same line, the current receives an average of roughly 121 posts per day. Also, the general collectibles threads are fairly convoluted with many people trying to discuss a multitude of topics at the same times.

RE: Last Two Nakamates (vol. 5)
@Hespia:
But I do really think that SH should get his nakama in fishman island.
It's the last stop before the new world.
assuming that there will be 10-11 nakamas in total (I dunno why bit this seems to be everyone's expectations)The reason people come to this assumption is, at the end of chapter 1 Luffy states that he should have 10 crew members.
http://www.mangafox.com/manga/one_piece/v01/c001/52.htmlIF it's supposed to be 10 nakama, shoudn't the crew be completed before entering the second half of grand line? oda can't keep continue adding until they reach raftel, can he?
True, people can not continue to join all the way until Raftel, but I believe that if a final person joins at the first or second island of the New World they'll be able to travel with the crew long enough.

RE: Last Two Nakamates (vol. 5)
Please don't close the thread yet. I'm new and want to throw my hat into the ring and champion the 5 Medaka mermaids. Because they are just so gosh darn adorable.
Hanging out in the fishtank. they could shuttle drinks and snacks up to Zoro in his workout room. help handing scalples to Chopper when he's in surgery. Turn the pages of Robins books. This theory is almost as bad as the Caribou joining one. They're background characters with no combat experience and nothing to suggest that they would join.

hey, were sanji and chopper still in madame shirley's house???
Yeah, they stayed there to recuperate.

RE: Felch Discussion Part 4
Can somebody explain these powers to me? I thought that the power of a fullbringer was to control the souls of alll things. So then why does Riruka say "this is my fullbringer ability" don't they all have the same powers?

RE: Felch Discussion Part 4
Was the guy with the PSP even around during the last few chapters?
@No:
No.
Also is the Jackie person a dude or a chick ?
Yes he was. In the previous chapters he looked older, so it's difficult to recognize him.
-
RE: Felch Discussion Part 4
That page, like many others in Bleach, was literally only there for the sake of making the chapter longer.

RE: Chapter 612:"Led to by the shark we saved" Discussion
Dunno if it's been suggested yet, but I don't think the Mermaid Princess is always that size, but she probably just gets big when she's upset about something. King Neptune was wondering where she was, and the attendants told him that she was upset again…and seriously, if she's always that huge, how does he expect her to just waltz around the palace corridors? Err, swim around them.
How did she gain the ability to make herself larger then?

@Devil:
Possibly a stupid question, but how do you download pictures from Mangastream?
*Have mangastream and any image editing software pulled up at the same time.
*Drag the image into the program.
GJardim's way is easier. -
RE: Chapter 612:"Led to by the shark we saved" Discussion
What do you think Minister of the Left and Neptune were discussing when they said Left said, "It happened again." Neptuen blamed it on guards not protecting her from becoming upset. Do you suppose that Vander Decken recently sent her another letter?

Anyone else see octopakku or whatever her name is on page 9?
Not until you pointed it out. Nice catch.

RE: Last Two Nakamates (vol. 5)
Except the Shirahoshi is at least ten times smaller than Wolf and also doesn't appear to be able to go on land.

RE: Chapter 612:"Led to by the shark we saved" Discussion
I'm kind of confused about the Seahorse Merman. His whole body is a fish body but with arms. I thought Merman were supposed to be only fish from the waist down.
His upper half is human, he's just really ugly.

Should I be surprised if the pig doll looks like Lola?

RE: The "Shueisha" Thread
I'm sad to see Oumagadoki Doubutsuen go down, but I couldn't be happier to see Bleach falling.

You've got a pretty huge ego, MasterKingJC, although I suppose your name should've given that away.

RE: Funi Files Lawsuit
Thanks, to be honest, I think these people are lucky that this all Funi is going to do.
-
RE: Funi Files Lawsuit
@Zach:
Maybe you didn't read my previous post, but the suit is for an injunction and not financial compensation.
Excuse my ignorance Zach, but what is the difference between an injunction and financial compensation?
-
RE: Chapter 611:"Hodi Jones" Discussion
I don't see the problem with predicting fights, especially with Zoro. Obviously he's going to fight the most powerful swordsmen. He has done so almost every arc and he needs to in order to accomplish his dream.

RE: Felch Discussion Part 4
You guys aren't giving Kubo enough credit. I read Bleach for 3 minutes a week and I feel like I've just be kicked in the balls. Now put yourself in Kubo's shoes. His entire life revolves around Bleach, that's 24/7 kicks to the balls. To be honest, I'm surprised he's not getting sick more often.

RE: The One Piece will NOT be "Friendship/Adventure/Corny Ass Abstract"
I'm sure we'll see some physical reward for whoever reaches One Piece, but I still think that it is an ideal. When Roger said "go and find One Piece" he knew that a great age of pirates having adventures would follow those words.
In a world where the second half of the grand line is vastly unexplored and refereed to as "The New World" an age of adventurism creates a huge contrast against a government that goes about blanking up history. That's probably how the whole ancient history plot intersects with One Piece as a destination.
During the War, we come across the "end of an era" of piracy. All the major players in the war fought an ideal. Luffy, the new world captains, and the whitebeards all fought for their companion, Ace who was the last of Roger's legacy. Whitebeard protected this legacy with his life, when he said "One Piece Exists" I feel it was less about "yes there is a physical reward for reaching the end of the grand line" and more along the lines of "the great era of piracy won't end today."
There isn't much world wide info on how the world stage of piracy is doing, but it's most likely still similar to two years ago where pirates search for One Piece as a means of fulfilling their dreams.
My problem with all of this is, why would Roger care so much? Why does it matter to him if a bunch of people go out on a journey and see the world? Sure, you could say it's a gift to people, but I'm sure there are far more pirate failures who completely ruined their lives in pursuit of One Piece than there are successes.
That's why I believe its the Reoponeglyph. Roger did it to change the world. When somebody finds One Piece they'll learn of everything that the world government has done and fight back against them.
-
RE: The One Piece will NOT be "Friendship/Adventure/Corny Ass Abstract"
The idea of One Piece being about friendship doesn't reflect Roger's actions at all. Roger split up his crew an entire year before he died. As of now, they are all out of contact with each other. That seems like a weird thing to do for a guy who's all about having good times with buddies.

Kokoro: The new Man Faye
I don't get the reference. I thought about googling it, but then I got scared of what I might find.

If a Kokoro cosplayer doesn't lodge mental pictures they're doing it wrong.

RE: Last Two Nakamates (vol. 5)
Ah, I see.
Still though if the author is to include a fishman simply for symbolic reasons then the story may as well have one of those winged people, a member of the giant race and who knows what other races of people Luffy will help in the future as main characters as well.
Again, not neccessarily saying there won't be though. No, the oppression of fishmen has been shown to be an over arching theme. The same can not be said about giants and skypeians.

RE: Last Two Nakamates (vol. 5)
Nami tied up half of Buggy's body so that Luffy could send him flying. Usopp shot Jango in the face and knocked him out.
-
RE: Last Two Nakamates (vol. 5)
It's really unlikely a joining character will be introduced 5 chapters before the end of an arc though. :/
I suppose it's fortunate then that I was using an extreme example and we're more than 5 chapters from the end of the arc.
Or the major villain Nami beat? Or Usopp?
Buggy? Jango? Those 2 ringing any bells?
-
RE: Last Two Nakamates (vol. 5)
JD just answered the question. We can be 100 chapters into an arc and 5 from the end. If the character fits then we can speculate about them joining. There is no rule that says that a nakama has to appear early in arc, it has simply worked out the way for everybody else.

RE: Flame Warriors
I think Holy Hell would be a Kung-Fu Master.
Though Kung-Fu Masters are powerful Warriors, they generally choose not to fight. Many lesser Warriors delude themselves into thinking that they are masters of war, but few are the genuine article. The true Kung-Fu master fully appreciates his own superiority and is therefore unruffled by petty provocations. When forced to fight, however, he quickly crushes his opponent with devastating blows.
