There's also Bartolomeo (a "crazy rookie from 1 year ago") who needs to be introduced.

RE: The LOST Rewatch Adventure! (Newbies Are More Than Welcome!)
! Maybe I should finish the entire series before I ask this, but it seems more likely that its just a writing mistake and will never be addressed. In season 4 episode 11 "The Cabin" Horace says that he died 12 years ago, but Alex is 16 and she was taken when she was still a baby. Am I correct in assuming that the writers slipped up, or did she get raised by somebody else for the first 4 years of her life?

RE: The LOST Rewatch Adventure! (Newbies Are More Than Welcome!)
finished watching the 1st season,it was very good,i know it's weird but i really lol'd when Arzt got blown up by the dynamite.also i'm starting to hate shannon and jack..
I think Arzt blowing up was supposed to be somewhat amusing in a very dark sort of way. Jack is annoying because he wants to be leader, but he plays favorites and doesn't keep a level head.

RE: Electronic Entertainment Expo 2012
I love the Microsoft and Nintendo fans are bitching about Sony "bribing." Please, a year of PSPlus isn't bribery. It's 50 fucking dollars.
Didn't Microsoft give out redesigned 360s a few years back?
-
RE: Electronic Entertainment Expo 2012
In fact, where the heck was Bioshock Infinite? I was at least expecting some more gameplay footage. -sigh-
Ken Levine announced in May that he wouldn't be showing it at E3 this year. It's still kind of a bummer.
-
RE: Electronic Entertainment Expo 2012
You're interacting with the environment. Sharing control with other players seems like it would ruin the fun. Watch Dogs has been the first "wow" moment of the show, it's the only game that I both care about and also hadn't already heard of.

RE: Electronic Entertainment Expo 2012
I'm not trying to be snarky with this, but can anyone tell me what happened after FIFA? I fell asleep while they were showing it and woke up when the conference was over.

RE: Electronic Entertainment Expo 2012
Went out after South Park and was expecting to miss Bioshock or the new Skyrim DLC.
looking through this I can't even figure out what I missed. XD
Dance Central 3, Usher, Black Ops 2

RE: Chapter 664: Master Caesar Clown
We already knew the World Government had its own agents, we saw them at Enies Lobby, but does this chapter hint that the World Government has its own Army comparable to the Marines? Smoker's men call themselves "army rejects", but I could just be reading too far into one background character's comment.
http://www.mangahere.com/manga/one_piece/v60/c664/3.html
Also no mention of Bonney, Urouge, Bege and Apoo causing any trouble in the New World. All of them were either headed for a situation they weren't prepared for or outright defeated in Bonney's case.

Just to clarify the rules, in this thread is it forbidden to discuss what happens in chapters yet to be released on SJAlpha?

RE: Chapter 656: "Adventure on the Burning Island"
I'm not sure, the samurai's parts would be put back together long as he's outside the sphere. Other wise, he would die.
Again, this was only 2 years ago. We still didn't know how much Law improved on his ability now.
Do you have any source for this? It sounds like you're just assuming that's how the fruit works.
-
RE: Chapter 656: "Adventure on the Burning Island"
The only reason people think that the guy with Crocus might be Shiki is because of the striped clothing (which "Legs" also has), however, everything else is different from Shiki (the hair, the sleeves, the head accessory). The chances of that guy being Shiki are no better than the chances of that guy being "Legs", especially when you consider that the only thing "Legs" has against it is time of location.
This is not a on or the other scenario. Just because the guy with Crocus doesn't seem like Shiki, that doesn't make your case for legs any stronger. They're both pretty weak.
Heck, you know what? This whole discussion made me think that this Shichibukai "Legs" mentioned might be Kuma, who is able to "teleport" people to far away places in less than a day (no idea about how he could split "Legs"). This idea might be stupid and baseless, but I find it crazy enough to consider it possible (not probable, just possible).
It takes 3 days for someone to land after Kuma hits them.
-
RE: Chapter 656: "Adventure on the Burning Island"
I actually think "Legs" might be this guy.
The clothes match, and he has one of those conical straw hats Ace learned to make in Wano Country. He's probably the Samurai mentioned in the last chapter.
He was at the entrance to the grand line when the Strawhats went underwater. It seems impossible for him to reach Punk Hazard before the Strawhats. He may be a samurai though.
EDIT: Do you mean his legs are at PH and his torso is there? Maybe.
-
RE: Chapter 656: "Adventure on the Burning Island"
On the left that looks familiar. Is that from an earlier work that Oda did?
Yeah, Monsters.http://www.mangafox.com/manga/one_piece_wanted/v01/c000/112.html
-
RE: Chapter 656: "Adventure on the Burning Island"
When you put 2 and 2 together, M could be the shichibukai because as someone pointed out the people who took the Strawhats wore PH on their suits which could have stood for punk hazard.
I'm sure the "PH" on the suits does stand for Punk Hazard, but I'm not sure that it means they're working for whatever Shichibukai is on the island. I would imagine that they're working for some other party that is native to Punk Hazard. I'm not stating my interpretation is a fact, but I'm wondering why think that means they work for a Shichibukai, who in theory would just be stopping by the island.
Also if Law is running the island as most shichibukai do then he is probably collecting pirates to amuse himself or he particularly want to fight the Strawhats.
That doesn't seem like something Law would want to do, I believe (though I'm not certain) that Law wants to be king. Waiting on an abandoned, hazardous island doesn't seem like a good strategy. Most of the warlords gave up on their dream of becoming the PK, IIRc only Moria was actually trying to win.
He probably kept the dragon at the gate to reel them in and knows they would help the samurai and follow it. Either that or he is going to be surprised to see what "fish" he's caught today har har.
I don't know that Law is capable of controlling the dragon, and if he is I don't think he can control him with such precision. The last time a dragon appeared a guy named D.R. called him with a dragon horn. D.R. claimed to be a master of the horn., but even he couldn't control the dragon beyond that.
I'm going into speculation mode here, but I believe the the calling of the dragon was the event that happened 4 years ago. The samurai is on the island to retrieve the horn (I have no idea why he's 4 years late), the Wano samurai are responsible for protecting the horn.

RE: Chapter 656: "Adventure on the Burning Island"
Brooke can smell for the same reason he can hear, see, feel and taste. Magic.
-
RE: Chapter 656: "Adventure on the Burning Island"
I could understand them not counting a skeleton but Brook is pretty famous by now. He seems to be well known across the world so it's a bit weird that they would overlook him unless they've been living under a rock for the past 2 years.
Well they don't seem to know who any of the Strawhats are, and they don't seem like the type of people who keep up with pop culture, so it's not incredibly surprising that they don't know Brooke.
-
RE: Chapter 656: "Adventure on the Burning Island"
I am pretty sure Law is not involed in this. It's probably a new character who has something like a speak speak no mi which means he can make Dragons and a pair of feet talk.
That doesn't explain how a pair of disembodied legs are fully functional and were attached to a dragon.
-
RE: Chapter 656: "Adventure on the Burning Island"
Is there a third (fourth if you count the legs as his own) faction on the island? The gas guys refer to their leader as "M" and "master" and seem extra formal with their leader. The guy on the Den-Den-Mushi calls his leader "boss" and is screaming. He's probably screaming due to terror, but that implies he's more scared of the samurai than his boss.

RE: Chapter 642: Losing Face
I did say hard way right?
Did you mean "it would be hard for the Strawhats to kick their ass", or "the Strawhats would give them a serious ass kicking"? I read your post as the latter, but if you meant the former, then I apologize.
-
RE: Chapter 642: Losing Face
NFP looks nothing compared to the 2 years trained straw hats
I agree, but that doesn't mean that the Strawhats could have easily kicked their asses without the 2 years of training.
-
RE: Chapter 642: Losing Face
Oda is actually saying in this arc that even the pre time skip straw hats can beat them in a hard way
Where does he suggest that? That seems incredibly counter-intuitive to the purpose of this arc.
-
RE: Chapter 642: Losing Face
Sanji must be tricking Wadatsumi into making himself bigger and bigger and bigger until…..POOF.
I was under the impression that he was doing it so that Wadatsumi would crush everyone else, but that could be it too.

RE: Chapter 642: Losing Face
Best chapter in a while. Hopefully Robin's orders from Jinbe will lead to her actually having a fight.

RE: Super Smash Bros
Since Nintendo has started to try and please the 3rd party publishers do you think we'll see a rise in 3rd party characters? I want Rayman, but Ubisoft screwed them over with the new sidescroller.
-
RE: Super Smash Bros
Press conference was a total cock tease for this. "There's a new brawl game… but it would be best if we left out the details". I'm surprised nobody booed when they said they weren't going to reveal anything. I'm still excited for this game.

RE: E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) 2011
Now as for innovation, They obviously take the cake for that. And honestly I enjoy watching them at E3 for just that reason, but it doesn't sway me into buying a new system when I know that the PS3 or xbox will come out with the same product more refined.
You mean motion control? I never used the move, was it significantly better than the wii? The kinect has been terrible, hands down.
-
RE: E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) 2011
Sorry for the noob question, this is the first E3 I've followed. After Nintendo's conference, will all announcements have been made and the rest of the week will just be showing off what has already been announced, or will other companies continue to announce games for the next 3 days, just on a smaller scale?

RE: What anime/manga character do you relate too or is like you
Ichigo Kurosaki. Ask any Bleach fan, most relatable character of all time.
Seriously though, I think I can relate most to Usopp. I love adventure, but I'm also not incredibly brave. I can also relate to Usopp's weakness, I'm not the strongest guy around.

RE: Bleach Discussion 0: Hello Darkness my old friend
http://mangastream.com/read/bleach/46775077/13
It sucks that it takes so long for Ichigo to heal in there. It would be awseome if some guy on your team was controlling the entire world and could simply heal Ichigo instantly instead of relying on Orihime.

RE: General Persona Thread
Do people consider 3 to be superior to 4? I found the story line of 4 (that I got through) to be more interesting than the story line of 3 (that I got through). Of course, I only watched somebody else play P4 with hilarious commentary and I played through P3 on easy mode (way easier than I expected), so those could both factor into my perceptions of the games.

RE: Last Two Nakamates (vol. 5)
Oda didn't say that. Luffy's VA said that.
Luffy's VA is the one that said Usopp would always be the weakest?
-
RE: Pirates of the Caribbean
I was thinking about seeing it this weekend. Is it worth it?
If you thought the trailer looked entertaining then you'll probably like it. You should also be aware that the plot is not good and the movie is saved only by it's entertainment value.
-
RE: Last Two Nakamates (vol. 5)
Didn't Oda say that Usopp will always be the weakest character because he's the one the viewer is going to relate to the most?
Honestly it's pretty clear Usopp is the weakest. IMO saying that Nami is the weakest is just sexism because she is the girl, so she has to be the weakest. >_>
Yeah, Oda said that. Everybody knew that the last time it was brought up too, but there was still a debate because apparently people don't trust Oda.

RE: Bart Simpson Thread XI: The Movie - The Manga Adaption - The Animation
@Kareem:
You know at this point I'm just glad Hinata has panel time, I (almost) don't even care what it is.
Shhhhh. That's what we were saying about Tenten, and look where that go us.
This chapter wasn't bad, but the fodder getting rejected and The clone being subdued by Sakura makes the second half of last chapter completely irrelevant.
-
RE: Last Two Nakamates (vol. 5)
I don't believe this chapter furthered Shirahoshi's chances of joining at all. If any chapter improved her chances it would last chapter when the power was first revealed. This chapter kind of back tracked from the potential that she showed last chapter (although she has more potential than she had 2 chapters back). This chapter is named "The Three Neptune Brothers", the most significant thing they did this chapter was vow to protect Shirahoshi.
I believe that she is going to be a kind of Vivi 2.0 situation, except in this case she stays back to actually do something instead of being forced to. Shirahoshi is going to carry on her mother's will, it seems to me that the Otohime was the real activist in the family, Neptune is just there. It is apparent that Neptune isn't advancing the fishman cause, he didn't want to get involved when his own wife was doing it, and why it's Hodi is attempting his revolution. Fishman island needs a new leader. The prophecy was that FI will be destroyed, whether you believe it's metaphorical or literal, you can't deny that FI be undergoing drastic. Shirahoshi is going to lead them.
It would be dumb for Otohime's death scene to involve her children crying and saying that they will accomplish her goals, only to have Shirahoshi grow up and try to achieve piece in a way completely contradictory to her mother's views. Shirahoshi risked her life to protect a noble, I doubt her daughter is going to be in the crew that kicks her ass. Shirahoshi will carry on Otonime's will and achieve piece through politics not force.

RE: Last Two Nakamates (vol. 5)
Perhaps I'm selling Oda short, but is it possible that Oda simply drew the sea kings poorly? He has had problems with drawing characters to scale before, it wouldn't be that shocking or story breaking if he simply messed up a drawing. Of course, I don't know much about sea kings, so there could just be separate classes of sea kings that I'm unaware of.
-
RE: The "Shueisha" Thread
Shaman King was screwed for a long time, half the cast having the same dream but only one would be able to accomplish it. There was no way for it to end well. It seems like it took the worst possible ending though.
-
RE: Last Two Nakamates (vol. 5)
Not like it's some kind of rule, but I think it should be taken into account.
What are you implying?
Also, isn't there some rule about using anime events as evidence in the manga section?

RE: Bleach Discussion 0: Hello Darkness my old friend
To convert to the Church of Aizen, you must simply devour the souls of more people than have ever existed,
Does recommending somebody read Bleach count as devouring their soul? I think they're pretty close.

RE: One Liner Questions
With the upcoming character tournament I'm trying to make a rather large GIF (902x408 to be exact), but online GIF making sites I've found don't let me go past 450 pixels wide. The only photo editing programs I have are GIMP and paint, and I don't believe either is capable of making GIFs. Does anybody have any suggestions?

RE: Character Nominations Thread
I nominate Mr. 2.
Also, not that it matters for me since I already casted my vote, what is the ruling on characters like Big Mam and Kaidou who have not made official appearances yet?
