Yeah, I've seen it. I do know that they are big in genereal, but my Grandma always told me that mine was massive, and very far spreadout across Europe!

RE: Hi!!!… or something like that...
Actually, I can't, because my Dad's Greek and he did teach me a little when I was very young, but then he left…
I would like to learn, though.
It's such a shame that I've forgotten. I've also got a huge family in Greece, but I haven't seen them in a very long time.
My family name's Parperis, by the way.
Apparently it's an incredibly large family. -
RE: Hi!!!… or something like that...
Cool I noticed you're from Greece - I'm part Greek, myself!
Have a good time here!
-
RE: What do you guys do?
Well, I'm mostly stuck in work, therefore I'm mostly on here.
…I really don't do much work...

RE: One Piece: Grand Adventure
So the a religion that eventually becomes old becomes mythology?
Might I ask why Jesus Christ is still religious and not mythology?
I'm a prick. XD
No it doesn't become Mythology because it's old…
Think about it - The Romans, Greeks, Eygiptians, Japanese etc ALL had ancient beleifs that are now regarded as Mythology now. They are all now mainly Christianity.
This isn't the case with all religions.

RE: What Happened
I'm impressed you got a hold of WZ period. I swear he fell off the face of the earth. What do you mean by our OWN server, this time. As in we don't have to share, or you bought a server, or something?
btw, it's PS, PSS, PSSS. At least that's what I was told. (anyone remember what it stands for?)It stands for 'post script'.

RE: Fairy Tail
IRC's really easy, you just need to take a bit of time to learn it.
It only took me two days to fully understand this.. -
RE: What Happened
It feels like it's been ages…. but that's only coz I was stuck indoors all weekend.
-
RE: One Piece: Grand Adventure
The pic has already been confirmed of not having the lettering tho.
I just got an idea. Those drums of Enel's…they are a relgious sign aren't they? Made 4kids will remove them, or atleast the spirals on them.
That's kind of ancient religion, though. Raijin/Raiden (Japanese God of Thunder) is kind of considered Mythology now, which should be Ok for 4kids as I think they've left The Falcon and the Jackal alone in Alabasta (Horus and Anubis in Ancient Egyptian Mythology).

RE: One Piece Fandub
Well, any kind of mic like that will do, really. It's just that karaoke mics will be much cheaper…
-
RE: Fairy Tail
This looks like it could become even better than Rave. I really love the design and the characters and so far, the story is really original.
-
RE: One Piece Fandub
Usually an electronics store. Just make sure it can plug into the mic jack on your pc. Most of them can do this, but it's always safe to check.
You can get them from toy stores, but i wouldn't, because they'll be lower quality, and won't work with your pc, -
RE: One Piece Fandub
You know… karaoke mics work incredibly well with a pc.
I use one, and get superb quality sound and no background noise whatsoever.
Plus, they're dirt cheap. -
RE: Naruto Discussion!
Sakura definitiley wasn't need. It was just a waste of a page and it meant nothing. I mean that, it literally meant NOTHING.
Honestly, I read this chapter in just under a minute and a half. And that's not scanning, but genuine reading.
If Naruto isn't on a serious downward spiral right now, I really don't know when it will be.
-
RE: Why does OP dominate Naruto in every aspect
Actually, I don't know if this has been stated before, but while Naruto is very much more popular in the West than One Piece, in most of Europe One Piece is a bit more popular.
Basically, when DBZ was at the height of it's popularity(2000 onwards), people where instantly trying to find information on the original Dragon Ball to see how it all started. So many scanlators/fansubbing groups started to do this, but thanks to the original Dragon Ball being more popular than DBZ earlier on than in the US, mainly in Eastern Europe, people were rapidly growing more and more fond of that half, and seeking out other anime/manga like that. And, so One Piece was discovered, and became very popular in European countries earlier than Naruto did. Thanks to scanlators and fansubbers, this grew even more. So, while both US and Europe discovered One Piece at virtually the same time, Europe had less exposure to Naruto, and much more to Dragon Ball and One Piece. I live in the UK, and virtually every manga fan I've met in the past few years favours One Piece a LOT more than Naruto (even the early chapters/episodes). I've also found that here in the UK, making someone into a One Piece fan is far more easier, as they enjoy the earliest episodes incredibly, just because it's so different to typical anime.
The dub, surprisingly, also helped greatly. Almost at once, people here somehow saw the real charm of One Piece amidst the crap of the dub, and as soon as they went online to try and find out more, they instantly converted into subbies.
Sorry for going on so long about this.

RE: Fairy Tail
@Invader:
Here's a link to the first 2 chapters if you don't feel like going to IRC to get them.
You…. are..... God.
Thank you so much, I've been waiting quite a while to read this!

RE: Doctor of video games
Well, I gave a twenty minute lecture about creative story telling and art style, using One Piece as my mainpoint of discussion to a room of about thirty people (students and teachers), and I totally improvised it, too.
In fact, I got a lot of applause afterwards, and several people approached me about what a powerful speaker I was!
It even got some people interested in the series. I had loads of pictures of the manga and the anime, and a few of the books as hand outs..
I guess that's kind of a start… it definitely got me noticed as one of the most passionate artists in my year, and I receive constant praise about it. It's pretty mad, isn't it?
-
RE: One Piece: Grand Adventure
I got the new issue of PSM today, and there is an ad for Grand Adventure, and there's a screenshot with Luffy fighting Enel.
So, he is in the game. The shadow wasn't just stupidly placed there.
They're clearly advertising it to us, then…
I hope he's easy to unlock. I'm intrigued to what they called him (Eneru/Enel/Ener), and what his voice sounds like. -
RE: Chapter 423 "Mermaid Legend" Discussion
But, just how the hell would she know?
-
RE: Becoming a Manga Artist…
Why don't you try using Tokyopop's website?
It's recently become all Deviant Art-alike lately, and you can now post your own manga there (in a copy protecting manga viewer format). If you post a few sample chapters there, and build a small fan base (which happen to get quite big rather quickly), then send your work in a portfolio off to Tokyopop itself (having the fans and recognition will make this easier, because you would have a group of people willing to buy the manga).
You never know, it might work…

RE: Naruto Discussion!
i'd say "especially shikamaru" ^^;
what was boring in the manga is that the fight dragged forever. i just caught up to the weekly releases around that time and each end of chapter was like: "next chapter: the conclusion???", and for each new chapter, the fight just continued, without concluding. that's when i realized the almighty "kishi's pace".
Ah, that's probably why I liked it a bit more than most of you, then. I stopped reading Naruto for a little while when it came to the leaf ninja's fights (That guy who fights with his bones came almost out of nowhere, which pissed me off). When I came back to it, the fight was over so I only had to read through them.
-
RE: Naruto Discussion!
@yokaiforte:
Rock Lee vs. Gaara.
Naruto vs. Neji
Neji vs. Hinata.
These were surely the greater fights.
No hang on, that's not what I was talking about!
Sorry for confusing you guys - I LIKED ALL THAT!!
I'm talking about everything that happened after Itachi's first appearance, that's when things got boring.
After all that stuff, Naruto vs. Sasuke was the only part where the pace started to pick up, then it just dropped again.
-
RE: Naruto Discussion!
I'm considering Naruto AGAIN, for the 3rd time. I stopped at episode 55. Should I give it another try?
Sure, why not?
Because it's boring?
I might still enjoy it…
It's VERY boring?! Er...
I'm lost for words with Naruto. You should probably give it another chance, if only for
! Naruto vs. Sasuke where it picks up, but it drops again for part two…
It's really not BAD, but I think Kishimoto's pacing is to blame, really.
(Yeah, the head shots) -
RE: One Piece Fandub
Damn, I was supposed to audition, wasn't I?!
Sorry, I've been busy with work, and I write my own manga whenever I'm not at work, college, or with my mates, so I haven't had much time…
I'll get some done ASAP:
Usopp,
Eneru,
Bon Clay,
Kuro,and some bit parts too.
-
RE: Full Metal Alchemist Discussion
Manga reading tires everyone if they're scanlations. My friend told me the contrast between black and white on the screen induces fatigue, so I now print scanlations before reading.
-
RE: Trying to get my friend to watch OP
I would second whoever suggested the Zoro v. Mihawk episode. Not too spoilery and it shows a lot of what One Piece is all about while still being nice and actiony. It's one of the high points before the start of the Arlong Park saga. Arlong Park has MUCH more impact if you watch it after all the previous story arcs, it sort of requires it, imho.
DEFINITELY!
Luffy fighting a giant shark will mean NOTHING to your friend if they have no idea why he's doing it.
I even know someone who was turned off by the series for seeing Luffy vs. Arlong episodes first. -
RE: One Piece: Grand Adventure
@Ao:
Looks like he's just posing to me..:\
So are the americans creating rush moves(the over the top finishing type ones from gb) for the new characters or did every Grand Battle have them?
I think only rush had them, because they were not in GB1 or 2. But I never played 3, so…
-
RE: One Piece Fandub
That's really not bad, it's just the timing in parts is a little off, especially towards the end, and you missed a high note around half way through. If you keep working on it, though, it could be really great!
-
RE: Becoming a Manga Artist…
Oh Ok.
It's a refreshing change from typical manga, where all body parts must be in proportion, that's all. -
RE: Becoming a Manga Artist…
I've always seen it as just being his style. That includes the hands - seriously, have any of you ever been freaked out by how big hands are in On Piece?!
In fact, just look at my Kuro avatar. They're bigger than his face.
-
RE: One Piece Fandub
OK then, here it is:
http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=80CC28A44E95AE94
I think I did pretty well, actually. There's three edits in it to match it to the TV version, and they're barely recognisable. Enjoy.

RE: Oda's INSPIRATION for One Piece
Those pics would indeed be very much at home in OOC thread.

RE: Gol D. Roger's Crew
kureha as his doctor, zeff as his cook but went again to grand line to find all blue, dragon as roger's navigator (he controlls the weather, can't imagine someone better than him),tom as roger's shipwright and instead of mihawk i would place my bet in zoro's sensei,
olvia propably was too since she was missing for a long time and came back two years after roger died and if we believe the anime filler roger conqured grand line in only one year so maybe he recruited olvia one year before he died since the only ones to read the poneglyphs are ohara people
maybe shanks and buggy were at roger's or whitebeard's crew cuz buggy knows how important are whitebeard's nakama for him and maybe that made roger and whitebeard fight in the first place and whitebeard said ''when did that brat got so important …'' for shanks and maybe either he was at his crew or have seen him in roger's when he was young.so if they weren't in whitebeard's crew they might have been in roger's although roger is said to be like luffy so maybe he had only important members in his crew and not minors like whitebeard, anyway if they weren't at whitebeard's they might have been in roger's crew
ps: who is crocus???????????
Crocus was the man who was in Laboon for reasons I cannot remember because my memory is shit. I'll have to rewatch.

RE: One Piece Fandub
Great! It can be edited down to the TV size pretty easily.
EDIT: Thanks. Buuhan, if you want I can cut this down to mirror the TV size, unless you can do it yourself. I'm at work right now though, so I won't be able to do it for about 3 hours…
-
RE: One Piece Fandub
Sorry, I don't think there's a karaoke version available yet.
Maybe when the movie 7 soundtrack comes out, but that might not happen until the end of enies lobby in the anime…EDIT: Movie 7 soundtrack IS out, sorry! It's in the Music thread, but still can't find kokoro no chizu...

OK, here's TV-size:
It's Alright! Now, let's move forward. There's always a burning sun in our hearts.
Transferring Power through our clasped hands, let's catch hold of our desires.Let's ride upon a huge wave, combining our Strengths.
Let's hurry towards the beating pulse; It's the signal to begin. Now is the time to set sail. When the anchor is raised,
Weâ€ll ride the seven-colored winds to the sea of adventure.Though itâ€s a voyage full of injury, something precious is there.
Even when weâ€re in trouble, no matter what, because I will protect you.Itâ€s Alright! Now, Letâ€s move forward. Thereâ€s always a burning sun in our hearts.
When storms come, Letâ€s stand shoulder to shoulder and look at the light from before.
If we gather the shards of our dreams, they will become a map for the future.
And so, Letâ€s stand together under the same flag, and catch hold of our desires.

RE: One Piece Avatars(56K Warning)
Cool, that's how they make the anime. They use the panels in the manga as reference images, then use that to plan shots. That's how anime always looks dead similar to the original source.

RE: Request for better fonts
It's not a theater you moron .. yeah get a life >.>
actually, it's very much AS GOOD AS a theater. Um.. "get a life", huh?
Where exactly is that coming from?! -
RE: Untitled
I dunno if this has been posted before, but Nami seems to have a thing for old men, particuarly Boodle here:
She got him again:
-
RE: Oda's INSPIRATION for One Piece
There's no way Nami's based off Keira Knightly. No way.
She wasn't in any famous movies before the year 2000.
