I don't mind the arc, but it's because I never was interested in Vegapunk in the first place... The genius mad scientist trope has been overdone and it never lived up to my imagination of a genius.
I guess it takes a genius to imagine a genius, lol.
@Robby you might be right. I don't think he will be milking it the traditional way, with pictures and so. He'll use it to shut down the democratic party. Certainly if it's an antifa as some rumors say.
Well if there was any doubt, now it's cristal clear. Trump is the next president.
@Robby oh I wasn't aware it was an official site.
Haven't been following Greg's career... He's an insider now

Covid-19, Russia at war and Smudger posting. Tis a sign of the end times.
It appears lot of countries that are semi-dependant on Russian gas are pulling their punches. GO!!! REASONS FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY!
I'm interested in seeing how this war will translate to other non-NATO members like Sweden and Finland. I could see them becoming big pieces in this game.
I've seen quite some posts from oldies lately. Putin has that charm about him

Lacking something to watch, finally went with Pom Poko.
I'm surprised it gets so little attention, it was really good and entertaining. Not enough to become one of my favorites, sure, but still oozing everything that makes Ghibli so endearing. You just need to develop a certain level of tolerance to animal scrotum.
I just watched it not so long ago, really liked it.
I had a similar story in mind when I was younger but instead of tanukis, it was little children who did the sabotaging.
Haha so it was great to see my ideas already been done by Ghibli
You mean that post I saw on facebook lied and/or omitted facts? I am shocked I say, shocked!
This is what I was going off of, though obviously its way less uhm⌠accurate than whats posted above.
This is crazy. My heart and prayers are with the libanese people.
Reading the Dune books by Frank Herbert. A masterpiece of science fiction.
Already finished the two first books, currently reading children of Dune.
What can I say. A real delight.

I'm still reading my way through Arabian Nights. This is the most metal thing I've ever read:
! These verses filled the King with wonder and delight, and he said to the eunuch, âGo to thy mistress, the Ladyof Beauty, and bid her come and amuse herself with thesight of this wonderful ape.â So the eunuch went out andpresently returned with the lady, who, when she saw me,veiled her face, and said, âO my father, how comes it thatthou art pleased to send for me and show me to strangemen?â âO my daughter,â said he, âthere is none here savethe little slave and the eunuch who reared thee and myself, thy father. From whom then dost thou veil thy face?â Quoth she, âThis that thou deemest an ape is a wiseand learned man, the son of a king; the Afrit Jerjis ofthe lineage of Iblis enchanted him thus, after putting todeath his own wife, the daughter of King Efitamous, Lord of the Ebony Islands.â At this the King wondered and turning to me, said, âIs this true that she says of thee?âAnd I signed with my head, as who should say, âYes;â and wept. Then said he to his daughter, âWhence knewest thou that he was enchanted?â âO my father,â answered she, âthere was with me, in my childhood, an old woman who was skilled in magic and taught me its rules and practice; and I became skilled therein and committed to memory a hundred and seventy magical formulas, by the least of which I could transport the stones of thy city behind the mountain Caf and make its site an abyss of thesea and its people fishes swimming in its midst.â âO mydaughter,â said her father, âI conjure thee, by my life, to disenchant this young man, that I may make him my Vizier, for he is a right pleasant and ingenious youth. âWith all my heart,â replied she, and taking a knife, onwhich were engraved Hebrew characters, drew there with a circle in the midst of the hall and wrote there in namesand talismans and muttered words and charms, some of which we understood and others not. Presently the worlddarkened upon us, and the Afrit presented himself beforeus in his own shape and aspect, with hands like pitchforks, legs like masts and eyes like flames of fire. We wereaffrighted at him, but the princess said to him, âAn illwelcome to thee, O dog!â Whereupon he took the formof a lion and said to her, âO traitress, thou hast brokenthy compact with me! Did we not swear that neither ofus should molest the other?â âO accursed one,â answered she, âhow could there be a compact between me and thelike of thee?â âThen,â said he, âtake what thou hastbrought on thyself.â And opening his mouth, rushed uponher: but she made haste and plucked a hair from her headand waved it in the air, muttering the while; and it at oncebecame a sharp sword, with which she smote the lion andcut him in two. His head became a scorpion, whereuponthe princess transformed herself into a great serpentand fell upon the scorpion and there befell a sore battle between them. Presently the scorpion changed to an eagle, and the serpent at once became a griffin, whichpursued the eagle a long while, till the latter became ablack cat. Thereupon the griffin became a piebald wolfand they fought long and sore, till the cat finding itselfbeaten, changed into a worm and crept into a pomegranatewhich lay beside the fountain in the midst of the hall, whereupon the pomegranate swelled till it was as big as awater-melon. The wolf ran to seize it, but it rose into theair and falling on the pavement, broke in pieces, and allthe seeds fell out and rolled hither and thither, till the floorwas covered with them. Then the wolf shook itself andbecame a cock, which fell to picking up the seeds, tillthey were all gone, except one that, by the decree of Fate, had rolled to the side of the basin and lay hidden there. The cock began to crow and clap its wings and signed tous with his beak, as who should say, âAre there any grainsleft?â But we understood him not; and he gave such acry that we thought the palace would fall on us. Then he ran about all over the hall, till he saw the remaining pomegranate-seed, and rushed to pick it up, but it sprang into the midst of the water and became a fish, which sankto the bottom of the basin. Thereupon the cock becamebig fish and plunged in after the other; and we sawnothing of them for a time, but heard a loud crying andscreaming and trembled. Presently the Afrit rose out ofthe water, as he were one great flame, with fire andsmoke issuing from his mouth and eyes and nostrils.Immediately after, the princess rose also, like a great coalof fire, and they fought till they were wrapped in flamesand the hall was filled with smoke. As for us, we werewell-nigh suffocated and hid ourselves and would haveplunged into the water, fearing lest we be burnt up and destroyed: and the King said, âThere is no power and no virtue but in God the Most High, the Supreme! We are Godâs and to Him we return! Would God I had not urged my daughter to attempt the delivery of this ape, whereby I have imposed on her this fearful labour with yonder accursed Afrit, against whom all the other Afrits in theworld could not prevail! And would we had never seenthis ape, may Godâs blessing not be on him nor on thehour of his coming! We thought to do him a kindness for the love of God, by freeing him from this enchantment, and lo, we have brought this terrible travail upon ourselves!â But my tongue was tied and I could not saya word to him. Suddenly, the Afrit roared out from underthe flames and coming up to us, as we stood on thedais, blew fire in our faces. The princess pursued himand blew flames at him, and the sparks from them both fell upon us; her sparks did us no hurt, but of his one lighted on my right eye and destroyed it; another fell onthe Kingâs face and scorched the lower part, burning awayhalf his beard and making his under teeth drop out, and a third lighted on the eunuchâs breast and set him on fire,so that he was consumed and died forthright. So wedespaired of life and looked for nothing but death; butpresently we heard a voice exclaiming, âGod is mostgreat! He giveth aid and victory to the true believerand abandoneth him who denieth the religion of Mohammed, the Moon of the Faith!â And lo, the Kingâsdaughter had burnt up the Afrit and he was become aheap of ashes!
Wow. Don't hesitate to share more.
Never read it I should get it in Arabic.
So how does that work? Do you have like a work pass?
I just feel into the same boat, but i'll be working from home.
One person of our team needs, for now, to be in the office, a mail from the manager is used as proof for that in case we need it.
But right now it's still loose here, not as strict as in Italy. No police control, no fines, that can change in the next days/weeks, I work in an Italian company so coworkers explained to us how it is out there.
We're in confinement modus here in Belgium since Wednesday.
Still going to work though even if the office is almost completely empty.
Discovered this manga through Netflix.
In the mean time I got myself up to date with the manga and webcomic.
It's been a long time since I enjoyed a manga this much.
Hahaha great stuff.
The guy should write a book to continue the story.
Ramadan mubarak everyone :)
It's a special one this year so be sure to profit from it entirely.
Dear friends Arlong Parkers
Being a student of the esoteric sciences I'd like to open a series of threads in this forum that I loved and lived on in a past life :ninja:;
beginning with astrology as it's a science that almost everyone heard of and also everyone has an opinion about.
Astrology is far more vast than the horoscope you read in the papers.
I'm studying western and chinese astrology , so if you want to know more about yourself you can post your birthdate and birth-hour for a complete astral chart.
The principle of astrology and why it works in a mysterious way is that we humans , and of course anything in this world is a cosmos on itself and in a way what we have inside, our internal world, is reflected by the outside world, the outer cosmos in it's symbolic nature. The mysterious law of analogy and equivalence: The outer world is just a mirror reflecting our inner states.
Thanks for reading, I'm impatient to hear your input about this subject.
Peace.
Ps: I forgot to add my own astrology, lol:
I'm a Gemini , Scorpio ascending. Moon in Cancer.
I really do not understand Rajoy. What a way to create a real mess. What a way to go into the history books man.
I'm not pessimistic in nature but I don't see this turning out well , not for Spain , not for Europe.
In reality it's not far fetched to see the European nation states implode into it's regions. Europe of the regions it will become.
Hunter and hiatus serious business.
I like the arc but nothing new under the sun.
Wow a living religion thread. Things have changed around here :)
Eid moubarak said everyone.May all your good deeds be accepted :)And may we reach the next one as better human beings in a better world.
I'm just wondering why Kurapika thinks of himself as useless against non spiders combat wise, Emperor Time can be pretty broken when you play around with it a bit. He is able to combine two minor hatsus, or three, and utilize them both at 100%
Step one: Emit nen (emission)
Step 2: Transform nen to have razor sharp quality (transformation)
Step 4: fire off a shower of razor sharp nen. (emission)
Or something like that. What's stopping Kurapika from making a combination like that?
He still needs to train those hatsus. It's not as easy as you seem to think. It's not because he has the potential to max out the power of each nen that he doesn't need to take the time to train them.
When he healed his broken arm he used one of his chains, so even if he needed a strong reinforcement nen to heal his arm that quick it was still linked with his main hatsu and ability of his chain.
Hisoka wanted to give Chrollo or Kuroro a headstart, that's why he went at him the way he did, by helping him and leaving him enough time to prepare and choose the location of the fight and etcâŚ
But now he's going at him in true hunter fashion, he'll be hunting him down. Curious to see how it will go down.
A happy Ramadan Mubarak to all arlong parkers :)
It's the first time I break the fast alone with my wife at home. It has just been visit after visit until now. And to be frank even if I promise myself to just eat some dates and drink the habitual harira , I find myself eating too much.
A Thank you for Mr. Toto and his refined comprehension of this series. Translating what I think of nen and power in the HxH universe.
Yeah that was an interrogation point, why there weren't any US politicians / big shots on the list.
So that's why. But even then it would've been interesting to know who's offshoring even if it's legal.
@Monkey:
Earthquake is telling me via PM that white privilege only exists in North America. Which as a Moroccan-Belgian I'm sure you can absolutely confirm as true.
Oh yeah I confirm 100 %.
There is no such thing outside of the US,
not in Brazil , not in places like Sudan, Mauritania or South Africa, not in Europe, etcâŚ
No, minorities in any given setting do not need to struggle to get to the same level of privilege as the majority.
@Monkey:
It's a really hard concept though honestly.
look around world: women some degree of disadvantaged literally everywhere
looks at literally any country, identifies majority/dominant demographic, in the US is white peopleCan't figure out what demographic is societally advantaged!!! a puzzle
That's some Phd level of thinking there, don't ask this of a normal student.
Well at least we know that Earthquake won't be shaking things up around here anymore.
:) The poor guy , I bet he still doesn't understand what hit him.
whitemalepatriarchy doesn't exist , lol. He should be more attentive in class.
Great thread. I'll be following your adventures.
One of my dreams is to start gardening or rather farming to produce enough real organic food for my family.
I hope you can inspire me to start in my little apartment for now. :)
Well that's where you got it all wrong.
The main purpose of sharia is the preservation of 5 things:
-religion (freedom of religious life
, etc..)
-life (security and protection of human and animal and vegetal life,âŚ)
-lineage (family law and all that..)
-intellect (preservation of the intellectual life and culture ...)
-wealth (security of wealth)
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maqasid
That is real sharia.
Not the beheading or whipping or anything, those are obscure fiqh elements that are found in some law (fiqh) books who weren't at all agreed upon between law scholars soâŚ
Yeah Morocco is a sharia compliant country more so than any Saudi or Taliban country.
Every law that gets voted gets first through a majlis of ulema and needs theocratic approval.
The king isn't ameer almuminien for nothing.
Aside of that. Some scholars even argue that occidental countries with their fair law and justice is far more sharia compliant than any Muslim country.
Well it's difficult to go against the stream (seeing how muslims are portrayed in media and stuff..).
Add to that , that a lot of muslims are, just like other hateful people of all strands, just hateful people.
I just hope that the majority of people can understand and see the humanity that transcends all differences between human beings.
A father is a father no matter which nationality or religion, he tries to work to provide for his family.
A child is a child no matter the difference, they just wanna play.
On another note , to understand the reality of islam a little: Saudi Arabia is a country that supposedly ( I personally do not agree with this statement, for reasons I can argument but would be too long on this post) applies Shariah law. Well, Morocco is another country who as well applies Shariah law.
But we'll gladly focus on Saudi Arabia and tell everyone that that's islam, but no one will tell you anything about Morocco.
For real? When is it scheduled to come back?
Or has the hiatus begun before the thing even started?
I think he means that authorities are to afraid to regain control of the town in any kind of way. It's basically a lawless land.
Wow I remembered you much more smarter than that, Kaiolino.
I have family living in Molenbeek.
Come I'll show you around and than judge, before believing every sensational docu fiction about the town.
â- Update From New Post Merge ---
@Monkey:
Well it's no short term solution, but Belgium needs to advance it's cultural assimilation/inclusion/fusion game basically.
That immigrant ghettoes of such severity are forming is a symptom of a broken system in that regard. But as to how that gets done? Well I'm not so sure.
It would be great to have a Belgian muslim on here (we used to! where'd he go?) to see their thoughts.
Some of that change naturally has to happened in those communities, but the same outside uhâŚ"majority" culture has to play a role. And their role has greater impact anyway.
But yeah I keep coming back to that "majority" issue with Belgium. That I think for you guys it's harder than other countries because you have no majority culture, but two almost even halves.
This is a curse to helping this issue...but I dunno maybe a curse that could be made blessing if worked at right. My understanding is Brussels is kind of a void city. That instead of a mixed salad at the center, it's kind of a blank slate that people do business in and go home and it doesn't really become this happening cultural mish mash hub like primary cities tend to? Does that sound at all accurate (this is an impression other Belgians have given me btw).
If that sounds at all right, even just developing Brussels into a sort of salad toss of it's own could help break down the ghettos on a cultural level. But really everything comes down to the need for an ability of those inside to leave
Hey (speak of the wolf and you'll see its tail) :)
I don't think we can talk of ghettos when talking about the Moroccan/Turkish neighbourhoods in Brussels.
Sometimes you have in one and the same street (lane) in the beginning a bad low class neighbourhood and at the end of it a higher class better neighbourhood.
It's a little different than in France for example where you have real concentrations in complete blocks. That doesn't exist in Brussels.
I can assure you , the police can go everywhere they want, it's not like in the 80s when gangs made the law in some restricted areas.
As for integration yeah it's like you said here below, Belgium didn't and doesn't have a strong patriotic heritage even among the non immigrants.
The only things Belgian are french fries , chocolate and the national soccer team (when they win)
I, for instance, define myself more as a Flandrian as I grew up in Flanders, also a little bit from Brussel as I spend a great deal of my life in the city and I love the city. Most Belgians from immigrant descent have a clear association with their city more than with the country. The one an Antwerpenaer , the other Brusseleer, etc..
Brussel is already in the mind of the Brusseleer a strong entity and can become in the future an independent city-region if there's a political will to do so but because historically Brussels has been a frenchizied Flandrian City, The flandrian politicians doesn't want to let it go.
As for the religious problem, there is a big problem of radicalisation not only in Brussels but in the whole world.
It's something that baffles me and I don't fully understand, the speed at which petty criminals change into radicalised islamists-terrorists.
I spoke earlier how I feel I'm a Flandrian first before being a Moroccan or anything else, funny enough it's thanks to a teacher I had in a mosque I used to go to when I was a kid , to learn Arabic.
He told us that we shouldn't forget which land made us who we were and we were fruits of that land and that has always been how I saw things.
I'm the fruit of the land that helped me grow, no matter where my parents came from. So that helped us to not live a schizophrenic life but to be consistent with who we were. And I assume that these terrorists didn't have the luck I had and lived a life where they hated their country, their fellow man and I suspect even themselves.
Where am I going with all thisâŚ
Oh ok. So compared to Belgium.
Well the Arab (they're mostly Arab I think right?) Muslim groups in your ghettoes. The alienation is the issue, and that issue is much much more severe. Blacks and Hispanics in America don't feel outside the American sphere. They're Americans, Americans not being treated fairly, but Americans.
What's at issue is these immigrants come to Belgium...and do they at any point feel Belgian? What does it mean to be Belgian? Unlike other European countries this question isn't an ethnic one...do Belgians even know the answer?
A French person can talk about being French as having to do with the French culture and language and people with all their history.
An American person can talk about being American as having to do with certain ideas and values and the people as collecting over the years under that concept.
For a Belgian what is the answer? And if it's hard for you guys to answer...how extra tough it must be to figure out how to make these ghettoes feel apart of anything. They have the citizenship, but what else do they have? The religious difference, I don't want to overemphasize too much. But it's undeniable as a factor. There will be more friction the more different such religious identities are. Latinos in America have one shard of luck going for them and that's that the whole "Catholic" thing is no longer exotic in the US. It used to be a ig deal when Catholic immigrants came over, but waves of such people (Italians, Irish, some Germans, Poles etc) already fought and won those battles. We even had a Catholic president, and potentially lots more that no one cared about anymore.
But clearly a largely secular Catholic country like Belgium taking in still very religious Sunni Muslims from the already extra conservative Arab countries? Culture clash and extra alienation. This is tough. The loose identity of Western Hemisphere countries is our strength on this matter. Belgium instead has a ...blank identity?
I've been out of the manga game for some time now, so quick little question, no news of hunterxhunter?
Why Are You Writing a Rape Scene?
The title of this post isnât an accusation. Itâs a genuine question. And itâs also a subject thatâs been on my mind just about since I got started writing.
Trigger warning for all kinds of bad shit.
Rape is a thing in books. Itâs been a thing in books for awhile now, but in the past 10-20 years, this horrific taboo has become more explored and prominently used in literature and art. It feels like itâs come to a head recently, what with yet another brutal, degrading rape in last nightâs Game of Thrones, a show Iâve only ever watched occasionally but increasingly feels like a conga line of sexual violence.
A lot of people are mad about it. Other people say, âWell, itâs that world. Itâs also in history, and in war. Itâs perfectly justified to feature rape in a story. And that character is a monster.â
So hereâs a thought exercise Iâd like you to try.
Youâre writing a rape scene. A woman gets brutally raped by a monstrous male character in one scene in your book. Itâs scandalizing. Itâs disturbing. Itâs graphic. People are going to talk about this.
Okay. Now substitute another sex crime in its place â say, homosexual pedophilia.
Now instead of raping a buxom, weeping young woman, your Extremely Bad Dude is now raping a terrified six year old boy.
Does it still feel like it deserves to be there?
To use the usual fictional rape apologist arguments, thereâs no reason this scene shouldnât exist. Child rape exists, and no doubt happens in times of war. It probably happens even more in third world countries that are at war. Historically speaking, Iâm sure there have been thousands of child rapes since the dawn of humanity. Maybe millions.
Practically speaking, it would be remiss not to include a child rape scene or two, right? It happens. We must be truthful to reality. Itâs our duty.
Or, wait â is it possible youâre using this horrific, degrading, monstrous act as window dressing?
Thatâs why a lot of people feature rape scenes, it seems. âThis is a very bad dude,â a writer might say, âand I need to prove it to the audience.â And the audience might say, âYes, that character WOULD do that. Thatâs absolutely in line with their nature.â And so theyâre fine with it.
Or maybe the writer just wants to signal to the reader that this world is extra, super-duper grim and gritty. The audience would then say, âWell, thatâs the world this storyâs set in. Itâs monstrous and brutal. But themâs the shakes.â And so theyâre fine with it. (This is basically adding ambiance to the story. âLetâs throw a little rape in the background,â the writer thinks, âso folks get the picture.â)
But while audiences seem willing to sit and watch a young woman get raped to make these points, raping a six year old boy suddenly seems⌠excessive, right? Itâs way over the line. No one wants to watch a sobbing child get sexually violated. So why are we willing to sit and watch one awful sex crime but not the other?
And if you go through rape-heavy books, and swap out all the rape victims with young boys, then, shit howdy, youâd probably start thinking, âWhoa, whatâs the fucking deal here? Why does this writer keep featuring scenes with this awful shit? Are they getting off on it? Do they think that Iâm getting off on it?â
And thatâs a tough question. Are you getting off on it? Are you including this rape scene for titillation, to be sensational, to set tongues a wagging? Are you using rape as a tool, a signal, a way to tell the reader that you mean business?
And is there no other way for you to do that? Do you have to make someone get raped for your story to work? Or do you just want to see it happen?
So hereâs the things you need to ask yourself if youâre writing a rape scene:
- What am I trying to do with this rape scene? What is its function?
- Is this necessary to the plot? Will this book fall apart if this rape scene is not included?
- Will this story focus more on the rapist than the victim? Will the victim essentially be forgotten?
- If I swap out this rape victim with a young child, will audiences still accept this scene? Or will they find this scene wholly unnecessary, and condemn me for it?
Rape gets trivialized in the real world. Itâs frequently hushed up or waved off. The victims are forgotten. So think long and hard about why youâre including it in your book. To use such a monstrous act as window dressing is to trivialize it further.
Watch this rape thing getting so banalized that in 5, 10 years rape scenes of six year old boys will be the normal thing some people/media get angry about.
Where's humanity going?
Belgium´s biggest grudge with the world: Everyone credits Tintin to France.
And french friesâŚ
@Monkey:
Hollande receiving news that Chad "has WMD's". American condemnation of France. And the renaming of Cheeseburgers into Liberteburgers.
Hahaha⌠Hollande, cheese... Holland, the Netherlands, Geert Wilders, dots are being connected here...
It's official, France sucks.
According to this list, most anyone can be considered a Jihadist.
Let's break it down:
! 1.Falling out with old friends (that they now consider "impure").
! Okay unless they actually hear the person say "YOU'RE IMPURE AND YOU'RE NOT MY FRIEND ANYMORE BOOHOO" - everyone has the right to not hang out with old friends for whatever reason it is. Growing up out of high school, you start to notice everyone gravitating to people new friends who are like-minded to them and have similar life practices due to race, ethnicity, nationality, hobbies etc., so why is this any different?
! 2. They reject family members
! This is usually the opposite, when people convert to Islam, usually their family rejects them, and the convert does everything they can to reassure their family that they're the same person, they just have a different belief system now. (source: my husband, brother-in-law, parents, and numerous friends are converts to Islam).
! 3. They change their eating habits drastically
! Uh.. absolutely any muslim can be defined as this, since not eating pork or drinking alcohol is seen as something extreme and weird.
! 4. Quitting school or your job
! Vague. This can affect anyone for a multitude of reasons unless they explicitly hear the person saying "I'M QUITTING MY LIFE BECUZ I DON'T BELIEVE IT ANY MORE. BELIEVE IT."
! 5. They stop listening to music
! Many ordinary muslims choose not to listen to music with bad or sexual lyrics if they feel it affects their faith. This is not uncommon at all.
! 6. They stop watching tv or movies because they think that some images are prohibited.
! Um, I do this. I don't watch shows with sex scenes or a lot of vulgar stuff or language, it turns me off. Strange how in this day and age not wanting to see sexual content in media makes one an extremist. My eyes are my property, thank you very much, I'll choose what I look at.
! 7 & 8 are related to #6 - "They stop sports activities because they're mixed" and "They change their wardrobes, especially women who wear clothes that cover their bodies".
! As a woman, I'm not a alone in wanting to do physical activity in an all-female environment. Why do women's gyms exist?
! I do wear skirts and shirts that cover my body. I also wear hijab. Millions of others do as well. Why is this a sign of extremism?
! #9 is the only one they've got right - "Visiting Extremist Websites".So according to this - If I lived in France, I'd be in jail right now cuz most of that list applies to me (duh not the last point).
Yes, France is frightening me lately⌠The 8 year old kid story is really insane. I really don't know where all this is going.
sniffff snifffff sniffff ************* So long Naruto.
:))) Oh apforums discussions , how I've missed you.
Hunter x hunter is about Gon. that's all I have to say.
Oh no! Hunter is back from hiatus, well it was time to end my forum hiatus too⌠:)
I don't think Nobody is raging, he just wants to make fanboys rage (maybe)
I agree with you guys and I have said it many times now. Maybe because I don't even like the weekly format system at all.
In my perfect world, Ă piece of art has to be finished entirely before it's released to the public, but maybe that's just me.
Thanks Mette, Dryish and Meta. You're gesture is appreciated :)) thanks.
! Ahhh I see. And he, the spirit, went to Yuu Baba's bath house to be her apprentice in magic.
! Inner Fangirl sez: But it's not fair! He and Chihiro will never be togetherrr.. Damn you, Haku!
! I don't think he had the choice, since humans drained the river. And basically killed him in a way.
! I also loved how Shihiro saved that other river-spirit (stinkgod) from human polution.
Hahahaha no don't tell me this is true. I just watched this movie this saturday the 8th for the first time and had never heard of this thread before. Strange how these things can happen.
I'm not a huge fan of the 1999 series in general. Mostly because they felt the need to go DARK and BLOODY and GON URINATES HIMSELF whenever given the opportunity?
I feel Hunter X Hunter is supposed to be amoral (could be whimsical one arc, and a thriller the next), rather than straight grimdark.
I think the 2011 version benefits from having the hindsight of a mostly finished product and less X-TREME for the sake of it.That's one of the reasons it's such a worthy adaptation. It's really worth a watch, if you weren't planning on it.
Agree, I've said this a couple of times already. I had this feeling from the first scene. Reading the manga when Gon caught the giant fish, I had the feeling of a super enthusiastic , happy Goku kid. In the anime it was like hey I'm dead serious and this is serious business. Didn't feel well for me at the time.
