Too bad Frieza's dad was just chillin' out all the time. At least they could have made a movie with King Cold and his 2 sons going on a conquest together. Or at least KC and one of his sons.
At least more members ot the cast would have a chance to help out.
It sucks even worse that he merely became fodder to Trunks. (Though in retrospect with all the shit he went through before he got there, Trunks needed that win badly.) King Cold really should've been in Cooler's place as this dude out for revenge for his son's death and Cooler should've tagged along and survived to fight in another movie. I mean, we're talking about the father of the most feared tyrant in all of the galaxy, Cold should've been a monster. I can just picture him being quite laid back and lenient compared to his son, but when the cape comes off he caves your face in.
I like Krillin, we all do, but lets not pretend Charlie Brown kicked the football.
This is has to be the greatest analogy for Dragon Ball I've ever seen.
In retrospect that seems hella bad, considering once Gohan, Goku, & Trunks went Super Saiyan they were pretty much unstoppable…...unless Toriyama did something to break it up like making Cell ragequit after spitting up 18 or Trunks not being strong enough to beat 17 & 18, or USSJ Trunks being too slow to keep up with Perfect Cell or some other bs.
And while I do agree with some of the blown potential......especially with Vegetto.......(double so with the manga), him killing Buu outright just wouldn't have seemed right.
It only seemed bad because SSJ was supposed to be the ultimate warrior and the most powerful being in the universe, so they had to compensate somehow to gimp that tittle from being true and we got… teenagers. Cyborg teenagers were the roadblock to super saiyans. Its kind of why the series needed to end either with Frieza or Cell seeing as how it really made SSJ look like an afterthought, but my point wasn't really longevity, it was that in those key moments when all else failed they finally gained enough power to one up the villain and END them as opposed to playing with them.
So Gear 4th is a combination of many things it would seem. Gear 2nd + Gear 3rd + Fuusen + Haki. The most interesting thing is that he's using Fuusen in such a unique way since he always used it to deflect attacks before, now he's able to defend against almost anything, even Doflamingo's cutting kick. Oda sure loves to making Kabuki type characters and references.
The real problem with the Buu saga was it was overall a whole bunch of nothing. They set up so many things only for them to be swat down destroying any tension or real success for the heroes. Fusion, SSJ3, Potential Unlocked Gohan, Vegetto all of it was used and hyped up like they would be these amazing things that would put away Majin Buu and they all turned out to be let downs. That's not cool, that's not acceptable and it just wastes time. It didn't even make Buu look powerful it just made him look like a very very very patient Pink Monster who mostly sat on his ass all arc and waited to be challenged until he kills everyone and blows up the earth "just cause", oops. When Goku first turned SSJ it was exciting, he and the audience felt victory because he surpassed Frieza, yet there was still tension with the planet exploding. When Gohan turned SSJ2 he and the audience FELT VICTORY because he surpassed the near unstoppable Cell and we felt tension because Gohan lost function in his arm and prevailed with a Kamehameha with one arm. Those were exciting, those were amazing feelings because they gained power that was hyped up that actually had a payoff in the end. What did we get with Buu saga, oh a bigger Spirit Bomb… party horn Buu Saga really hurt me because things like Gotenks and Vegetto were really cool ideas that were wasted on a pink blob who literally got away with murder.
! Ugh. That's all I have to say about tonight's arrow… or this entire season in general. This whole "it is your destiny, so I'm gonna fuck up everything for you till you like it" thing is so stupid it hurts. This isn't Green Arrow, this isn't even a unique interpretation of green Arrow at this point, its Batman. its been Batman from the start and that's what's holding this show back and keeping it from being its own entity. It wants to be gritty and grounded and all its doing is saying "You're sad, you will always be sad, everything is fucked, was that a smile, fuck that smile and see your family get killed Bruce-I mean Ollie." Isn't green Arrow like the polar opposite of Batman, with him doing his work in the day and cracking jokes instead of cracking skulls?
! Well, I guess we have a good reason why Kaitlin goes over the edge now. Also, we're getting closer little by little to Cisco finally suiting up as Vibe since he gave Laurel that Canary collar
So even against complete fodder Krillin's kienzan can't cut through anyone?
I extremely surprised he didn't just come up with a Super Kienzan/Destructo Disc, a bigger more concentrated version. (Ala, Super Kamehameha) But then again, that's a good idea and we can't have those.
I honestly don't know what Oliver becoming Ras would accomplish in the long run? And with Roy being put on a bus (apparently) this leaves an even bigger grey area for how this show's gonna actually be "Arrow" anymore if he's leading the league. All that would leave is Thea (If she's not bat-fuck crazy from the pit), Felicity and Digel and that's a team I'm not very confident in. Where is this going? What is it leading to, to actually garner the series living a 4th season?
GT is an amazing series when all you have are fifth generation fansub bootlegs on video tape containing the android 18 fight and the omega shenron fight, and randomly the one episode where Bra tells Vegeta to shave off the stupid mustache, and have no idea of any of the context of the other stuff around it and are basically missing 50 episodes.
The way it was meant to be seen in high school in 1999. (Before the US had even gotten to Goku going super saiyan against Freiza)
As a result I don't hate GT the way most people do and have a fondness for the highlights, and barely recall any of the other stuff that I've only seen once over a decade ago.
Similarly, I have an extreme fond spot for movies 5-8. Whatever their flaws, they were all I had of Super Saiyan for years and so felt much more epic… and that was my only encounter with Broly for several years, so as lame as he was, he wasn't tainted for me until much later.
GT would've been good if they didn't want to go back to their roots so badly with it. That being trying to make it like Dragonball. So much has happened between the original series and Z that the tone changed to much to go back. So what we got was a bad mix of old kooky gags, power creep and late 80s-early 90s fashion that pleased no one. I will say there were some good along with the bad. From the terrible villain Baby, we got SSJ4. From the terrible early shadow dragons, we got the tail end shadow dragons (That were the only ones available in Xenoverse btw) SSJ4 Vegeta and Gogeta. But its hard to sift through the bad to get to the good, things like Uub being completely wasted after being trained by Goku himself and fusing with Buu, trunks and goten not being big staples in the show (with Trunks becoming like Gohan for unexplained reasons and Goten, despite being a playboy, getting only 1 fight and ends up being possessed). Not to mention them trying to fuse multiple times only to be stopped for stupid reasons. Baby's plot being a rehash of Garlick Jr's, Pan being a waste and not living up to her potential either, the list goes on but I'll stop here. I wanted to like GT but it was basically the worse parts about Z made into its own show.
My point. That's out of character at this point in the series. It's absurdity to the extreme.
It is? At what point in the series did they stop playing with their enemy or giving them a chance? Because both heroes and villains alike in the series have done this from start to end all the way to Buu's death. So I don't know what you're referring to.

My Gear 4 xD
As silly as this is, I think you might be on to something. It looks like a combination of Gear 2 and 3, but condensed. So I have a theory: maybe this will be what 4th is, in a way that his condensed vulcanized limbs will go off like explosives or pretty much have a devastating blast effect. This would essentially give him cannons/balistiks on his limbs.
Not excited for next battle.
I like Guts, but that not makes me enjoy Berserker.
Its actually just Berserk
Comic reader spoilers
! Did we just see Cisco don the vibes goggles??
! You're damn skippy he did! I lost my shit when I saw that. I am so ready.
I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't…
! This show is getting to damn good. TOO damn good.
You'd think Turles would get more run in the games. I mean, he's basically evil Goku.
But nope, the games tend to just ignore anything pre-Cooler.
I'm not much for the shoulder padded saiyan suits, but with this art style it looks pretty cool. Though I still prefer Vegeta's frieza saga armor (amusing that he preferred the shoulder pads) His cell saga armor is cool too, however due to the shift in artstyle the broad muscles kind of ruined it for me.
I have to say, I'm really digging Vegeta's new Saiyan armor. I really hope he'll show up too cause black saiyan armor is pretty sweet.
Mixed feelings. Identity. Weird climax. Clean slate. Reverse reverse. Busted.
Young Woman Burst eh? So a female only transformation, sounds good to me! These DLCs are looking good.
Holy crap…that was so good.
! The best part of that episode was when Harrison revealed himself to be Eobard Thawne, that whole scene with him and Cisco was very emotional and beautifully done…..till he killed him, but then good thing Barry somehow ended up breaking the time barrier.....
! Also this begs the question why did "Eobard" go back in time to kill Barry???
Pretty crazy that he is from many centuries in the future.....it'd be pretty awesome if we got a "flash back" to him in the future timeline he is from....
! My rating for the episode 200/10
Super duper spoiler since its the comic reason:
! He goes back in time to kill Barry because he feels he's the root of why he exists, why he is a villain, and why he got his powers. He idolized Flash and got powers similar to him due to obsession, but his powers slowly drove him insane to the point of wanting to BE Flash. However every time he fought him or tried to go after someone he loved, Barry would kill him. The result was always, they fight, Zoom fails, Barry kills him no matter the outcome and this messed up his brain to the point of justifying his actions and existence because "it must be".
Now as for IZombie
! I like it.
! White wash. Goooooodddamit! But yes, it was fantastic
A second warning: Some characters (i.e: SSJ Goku) have super armor and don't flinch easily. Be very careful around them and adjust stats and/or attack them cautiously. The best method is to gather as much Ki as possible and to use Ultimates. Energy Charge is essential for those that lack massive Regular attack as well as Super Saiyan as it gives you infinite, but draining ki. So charge, run away, charge, (Go SSJ), Ultimate/, run away, rinse repeat.
Didn't see a thread for this so:
This game is out and its been flying off the shelves like crazy and for good reason. I adore this game. To me its been the most definitive DB experience out of all the games and it is so satisfying to play. In the beginning, its kind of rough since you have the bare minimum in stats and abilities but that's honestly the best part. Building yourself up and making a character that suits your style. The races are nice, I started off as a female saiyan (for creative reasons/loving the idea of a female super saiyan) but I've seen how the other races play and they're all unique based on combos, strength and you're able to give them 1-8 voices based on gender. As for how it plays, the camera is a little screwy I'll get that out of the way, but everything is solid. Supers are marked to holding the shoulder buttons and pressing a face button, while combos are ABB format (ABB, AABB, AAABB, etc). The story is pretty interesting, being based on DB Online's continuity and has tons of parallel scenarios. (Staring my favorite time traveling swordsman no less.) A warning however: This game is very very grindy when it comes to events and items. It requires multiple playthroughs of the same mission if you want to get even the tiniest result if you're unlucky so just hang in there and enjoy the boosting, ki blasting goodness.
Mark Hamil must be highly amused. It was only one episode, but still.
He was actually surprised he got the call to reprise the Trickster. So yes, he's most definitely amused.
According to James Gunn Marvel is skipping SDCC 2015
Marvel skipping comic-con? That's like a date not showing up at prom night.
Scratches arm H-hey guys, so… monster hunter yeah, i-it's pretty sweet, yeah. I mean its alright, I guess, yeah. Its not like I'm addicted or anything, cause that's totallynotmeandstuffyouknowwhatImeanri-haha-hight? So yeah, I like it. sniff
! ProJared is a lifesaver with his guide videos. I feel so much better being a noobie to the series after watching them. Kudos to him
Wow, everyone hates the new design. I think its okay, nothing special but not outright terrible. I'm more intrigued by what Vegeta's gonna do in the movie.
You know, it seemed kind of empty that greg never coined in about a few things (Like for example when Jirard mentioned Ashley: "But Jirard, how can you say that? After all just look at those 'ballistics', those things are valuable!") but I thought it wasn't bad at all. It was more focused and flowed pretty well and Jirard's (and his other friends) jokes were pretty funny, especially the batman one. This will definitely work, I just wish their relationship didn't end so bitterly. I wish both of them the best.
I dunno how I really feel about the whole falling out between Jirard and Greg. I usually don't like putting personal opinions or feelings into the personal lives of celebs or e-celebs because I want to like them and remember them for their craft, not if they liked to eat relish on toast or something along those lines, but I'm just kind of disappointed. I hate when groups or duos are torn apart because of drama so seeing these two split (as hit or miss as Greg was) kind of hurts. I want to keep watching Completionist as if nothing happened but now that the baggage is out, I can't help but have this little voice in the back of my head asking: "Who was right? Did Greg deserve it? What if Jirard is an asshole? Are you gonna keep watching an asshole?" It's a horrible feeling…
Xehanooooort! Man, you're never ready when it happens and this is most certainly a shock.
As epic as Zoro's new Sanzen Seikei was, it was hard to make out who did the King Punch. Who did it?
Just saw the trailer during my lunch hour today and i have to say that despite him being a puppet of shadowloo instead of the illuminati (the same organization that Gill and Urein belong to) as speculated earlier, I really like what they did to Charlie design-wise and gameplay-wise, although him having Rugal's Genocide Cutter does bother me a little.
It seems to be the Illuminati since he has the same stone on his forehead like Urien and Gill. Also from his brief dialogue in his intro, he could be somewhat in control/aware of his situation. The whole zombie thing might be a means to an end so he can stop Bison or possibly the Illuminati from the inside.
Flash
! I really really liked this episode and the inclusion of Firestorm. They showcased how he worked pretty well and was pretty true to the source having Ronnie be the body and Stein be the mind/subconcious. Now we just have to play the waiting game till he's a permanent fixture on the team. Maybe Dr. Stein would make a good replacement for Dr. Wells. The only bad thing about this episode was how little Barry did and how easily he was apprehended. He seemed kind of like an afterthought in this episode like he was in the Arrow crossover.
! Also: Jesus christ, holy balls nnnnnnnnnng, the next episode is gonna be epic. The preview and Well's true demeanor finally coming forth is very creepy and awesome.
Arrow
! The secrets are out! All of them! Everythings out in the open! (Accept Laurel and her father knowing about Thea killing sara, but still no more secrets!) Though this begs the question on what Thea's revelation will be when this all comes to a close and what's Merlyn's next move since his dirty laundry is out. Also, atom yay.
@Nex:
Arrow's the best. The first half of this season saw The Flash supplanting it in my eyes, but since they came back from the midseason break, The Flash has sucked the big ones whereas Arrow has been on point (oh how having a looming threat/villain really brings out the best in the show.)
Honestly I have to disagree on Flash sucking since coming back. Its getting pretty good now that we're actually seeing what Wells is doing, Barry slowly getting over Iris and Firestorm being brought it. Very entertaining stuff. Arrow on the other hand stumbled on its return trying to find some even footing with what its characters really want to do. I know that since Ollie was gone they would basically be lost, but it really just came off as them running around like chickens with their heads cut off. You mean to tell me that Ollie is such an icon to them, that they can't competently stop gang members on the streets and keep things in decent order? I don't believe that for a second, and don't get me started on Laurel's bullshit and her hamfisted attempt to be a hero. Just cause you can wave a stick around, doesn't mean you got what it takes you idiot.
! Goddammit Iris 4: With a Vengeance. Also, double dammit that cliff hanger was intense, I want Ronnie back cause this arc is really good.
Found a fandub of the season 2 opening and its pretty cash imo. (Which I find to be very good, btw)
This could be surprisingly good or hilariously bad. If Link speaks, I'm out.
It can be easily put in place if its gonna be like Game of Thrones. Just say he got his tongue cut out. Problem solved.
@TLC:
Doug is fine right now in terms of reviews, it's those who want his reviews to be EXACTLY like the old reviews I feel have a problem with him.
I can understand. The most often complaint is the skits. People are always saying "If you take out the skits it would be funnier." "I hate the skits, you should fire those other two, they aren't funny." "The other two guys aren't funny at all, just drop them and go back to the way things were." Honestly the skits are take or leave but I've enjoyed them for the most part. Tamera and Malcolm are pretty enjoyable when the writing is good.

It looks good! The visor could use a tweak it doesn't feel like it fits the suit well.

Looks like Gorilla Grodd will be in tonight's Flash episode
I'm really digging the suit. Though I agree on the visor. Would've been better if the visor was tinted and smaller going only over his eyes.
! Aw it's a shame Bastelle wasn't anywhere on the list, not even in honorable mentions. I honestly really liked most of their hit singles. Flaws grew on me as one of their best, most unique songs. It's okay though, I saw uptown funk coming from a mile away (mostly because I follow Todd on Twitter, and his existential Kali crisis's) because that song is too good. It has energy, it has swag, it has a sick beat (which is a hodgepodge of other songs but still) and Bruno Mars just sells it with his starpower and presence.
It more of a jab at his live performances (His dancing and his attires), not so much his songs.
Bruno Mars pretty much found his niche when he produced Treasure and never looked back since. His live performances were always laced with funk and old-school rock and roll (which are outstanding and I'd recommend over his recorded work) so it was only a matter of time before he just let the old spirit of James brown take over his body.
Jesus Todd really had to scrape to get these bottom ones (except for Happy). 2014 truly was an awful year for music. I would say that it had no theme, but it did: "Haters gonna hate. Suck it." Except it wasn't gangsta rappers who sang this, it was girls. Famous, barbie doll, omg becky, dating cute boy after cute boy - but I don't do that teeheehee, white girls.
! "This isn't over just because Olivers gone. We still have people who we have to protect who are alive."
Congratulations, you figured out the superhero code! Good friggin job!
