It adds to the comedy immensely as it makes it feel like a looney tunes skit. Even baring witness, first hand, what Saitama is capable of everyone either tries to play it cool, play it off as a fluke and forget about it, get unreasonably angry, or simply achieve extreme denial bordering on insanity. Saitama is a tacky caped bald man with a stoned out face so everyone always assumes he's a normal citizen or the lowest of the low in the hero rankings. Literally turning expectations on their head.

! I wasn't 100% in the know when it comes to Hawks, but it would appear that he's a double double agent when it comes to his actions. Also Dabi seems to be in the know in some capacity and working with him (forgive my ignorance) so things are slowly clicking in place for me. I hope Best Jeanist is alive and Hawks filled him in. It would make sense for him to go off the radar to not rise suspicion for Hawks operations. Though the body in the bag doesn't sit well with me in the slightest since it would mean either he DID kill Best Jeanist, or he killed a random person and played it up. Overall this is gonna be a huge stain on his record as a hero. Its hard to say where this all will lead, but whatever hawks was working towards, he went in too deep.
! As for shiggy and the gang, besides himself, everyone seemed to only unlock their potential in the heat of the moment. So there's still room for progression.

! So both Atomic Samurai and Zombieman have reached opponents that are counters to their style of fighting. It's always scary to see S-class heroes with their backs against the wall, but it's some of the best fights in the whole series and what I yearn for. To this day, the fight between Metal Bat and Garou was some of the best content I've ever read. Seeing other heroes get the same amount of page-time is, and will be, great stuff.

From what I recall I don't think Kumi has complained much to her brother. He knows that she hates seeing him get hurt, but she also goes to his matches when she can, which already makes her greater than Ippo's mom in that sense. But lately she's gotten more selfish about Ippo boxing, in part because he might be punch drunk, and in part because she just wants a normal relationship. But sorry, Kumi, you'll never get it.

Its quite honestly because she knows, deep down, that he'll go back to it. No matter how much she fights for a normal and safe relationship, she sees him drifting back to danger. You could see it in her reaction to when she visited Ippo after the news of being punch drunk. A part of her was happy that he was finally out of danger but the other part was devastated that his dream was over. She's emotionally conflicted and its why she acts so selfish and protective over him. Eventually, like her brother, she's gotta learn that boxing is his path and his passion. If she can't, she's gotta let him go.

! I generally dislike this sort of "character progression" because it permeates the idea that mental issues are simple to solve if you get to the source. It's also unrealistic so it breaks my suspension of disbelief.

! This is a special case and makes sense since his trauma was that he never knew whether he was a clone or not and if he got hurt he'd disappear forever. He overcame this because he was forced to feel pain and found out that he still existed after the fact and given the circumstance of his crush being in danger this snapped him out of his fear over the matter. The underlying problem however, of the clones thinking they're real, might cause trouble in the future but only if a traumatic experience like before resurfaces. Until then, he's pretty much a free man and it made for a great character moment to show how powerful his quirk really is.

Wow, when shounen grit and determination are what causes the heroes downfall instead of their victory. Forgetting fundamentals is a pretty good character realization.

As ERB returns, so do I to Arlong! I love this to the point where my eyes got damp. I most certainly missed these. The behind the scenes made this even better.

! So he's just an idea man and a novelist. Which can work, and I do like the idea of that angle, but I'd like to see more to get a full judgement, I guess. This looks more like an attempt of the creators just trying to keep the actor on board, but we'll see!

I have a feeling that its to teach the team to stop relying on him for guidence, since they did say they NEED Harrison Wells. But do they really? Its probably a stepping stone for everyone to get over themselves and actually have confidence in the work they've done despite the hardships and missteps. Cisco especially needs to get out of this gloomy funk they've written him into for some reason, because without him there's no moral compass this season. Who's the sidekick on the team now?

! I don't like Felicity's new boyfriend. And I didn't care much about Diggle's storyline. Evil army officer has been done too many times already. But the new team has potential.

What is this trend where people with huge secrets date cops? Is this some sort of cheap thrill/tension they decide to use? At this point for both shows, the whole secret identity deal and all of its baggage is really silly. Especially how they keep the cast really small and they have little to 0 interaction with civilians. (The latter being a huge pet peeve since civilian connectivity is superhero writing 101)

I'm not a fan of Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones. But the beat, jokes, and visuals are all still top notch.

Fully agreed with this. If anything, this was the battle where the rappers tore each other to shreds. While I really like Ramsey vs Childs, Childs spent pretty much all of her lines attacking Ramsey's temper and attitude and not his cooking, his shows, or the fact that he plays the anger up for the cameras most of the time which kind of made the battle one sided as lyrically catchy her half was.

I find myself listening back on the old seasons and I sort of fall in love with the ones I initially thought were just okay. Like Harry Houdini vs. David Copperfield, the music in that battle is insanely good and I could say the same for Lewis and Clark vs. Bill and Ted. Listening to some of the songs with fresh ears was rather great and helped me appreciate the work put into them. As for my all time favorite, that's a a tough one but I most certainly love J.R.R Tolkien vs George R.R Martin

Guys, I'm scared.

I dug the first half, but the second half was so lopsided it kind of sank the whole ship. It's too bad cause the music is great as always. I wouldn't have minded them giving Katelyn the "rap circles around them" spot but it, like the Jefferson v/ Douglas, felt like they were preaching more than dissing. This is a rap BATTLE, not a rap therapy

I honestly thought their handling of Superman was kind of half-assed. I mean, they always try and compare Supergirl to him and all it does is give cheap pity points because its a mantle she has to live up to when in reality, Supergirl was always confident in her own abilities. It's okay for him to be sort of a beacon for her but all they really did with him is mention him in a way similar to the designated driver friend telling their blackout drunk friend what happened at a party the night before. "Oh Superman did this and I took pictures" "Man that Superman sure is a swell guy, he saved a whole bus of kids" "Yeah, I used to hang out with him all the time" There are people who actually don't know who superman is and we get fuck all in concrete details or any visual representation of how special/impactful he truly is save for some newspaper clippings. And when he does show up, he's blurry or at a distance where he's the size of a bug so really, he hurts the show more than helps.

The lack of voice actors makes it really hard for me to really get into this, to be honest. Reading was fine when it was flash and you can go at your own pace. But I'm honestly shocked this is doing as well as it is. But you know, Mario and Sonic sell games so they can get views.

Why shocked? Yes it has Mario and Sonic in it, but this was hugely successful in its heyday and paved the way for many artists, flash and non-flash, to create stuff of their own. Hell, Monty Oum owes RWBY to Super Mario Bros. Z. Its basically a piece of internet history brought back to life.

So the latest manga chapter of Super was released and it was pretty entertaining with how different they approached the matches. Its cool looking at the differences between the two.

Now that I have my bearings, iZombie was INSANE. It always has episodes where things finally fall into place and then my blood pressure goes through the roof.

! If you didn't like Clive before, you damn sure will like him now. He is a goddamn champion. It sucks that everything he worked for just fell apart instantly all because the greater good had to be done. He lost the case, he lost his girlfriend, its a miracle he didn't lose his position but I have a whole new respect for him now. As crazy everything got in that instance he took it all in stride and still remained Liv's friend. He even buried the hatchet with Major. Everything was so good in this finale. Except: The whole Ravi, Peyton and Blaine thing. Blaine lost his memory right? Well, did he get it back or not? Is it supposed to be ambiguous? Why is he still running the drug trade if his brain was soup when he took the cure? Also, is Donnie dead? He got scratched so him getting shot in the chest should've been nothing right? Where'd he go? Just a few confusing things.

I'm going have to be on the party stating that muting the mic is stupid and childish, and yes disrespectful. Do they mute the mics on away games in sports, crowds tear opposing teams apart if you haven't noticed and those companies don't even bat an eye. But WWE, no no, we must silence "the haters". Say what you want about Roman Reign, like him or hate him he's WWE's guy and they're hellbent on making him the face of the company, but ignoring and tuning out the thunderous booes doesn't solve anything. In fact, it only serves to piss people off more and make WWE look petty. I agree that crowds chanting silly things and doing the wave and such is highly disrespectful when guys are working their asses off to put on a good show but denying the fact that these are actually pissed off people who do not like what is being presented to them is ludicrous. Telling them to not pay for tickets and just stay home is ludicrous as well as there are tons of talent and deserving individuals who people would rather see who sometimes do show up AND put in great matches, that's where their money is going and clearly not Roman Reigns who they vocally disown. Its 3-4 hours of content and Roman Reigns has been 2 out of those 3-4 hours and people hate it.

So in comparison to Toei's anime, the tie-in fan manga seems to be a lot more legit. For example, Botamo in the anime simply didn't take damage and stood like a wall against Goku's punches, while in the manga he absorbed hits while his body bounced and contorted to impact. Frankly the latter example seems much cooler and sillier to feel more in nature to how Dragonball is. He's looks like a big squishy bear, so hitting him should have the result of a big squishy bear. Then there's Frost on how he wasn't so much an evil prick (even more so than Frieza it would seem) but an arrogant liar in the manga. The pacing seems to be a lot better as well. The anime has been pretty much a disappointment, not so much on the story, but the slow and terrible animation just sucks all the tension and it just isn't fun to look at.

Demographic is a factor, I get that, but it shouldn't be the factor that spearheads a series or franchise. Pandering to a certain pocket of people alienates other people who are interested and want to see something more out of the idea. It encourages lazy writing overall.

fucking hell man, i thought now after star wars did it best with fin that everyone will follow suit. but nope, it seems we're still at the times where phrases like "oh hell naw!" amuses people.

They're all stereotypes. One's a nerd, one's a geek, one's black and one's fat, all with their respective shallow "quirks". To top it all off they have a hot secretary in Chris Hemsworth they're obviously gonna comically drool over. It's basically stripping everything down to the bone and treating it like a cheap throwaway comedy with pretty CG. There's gonna be plenty of slapstick, fart joke humor, "how's my hair" type quips, and just lame lame subtle "did ya get it, cause x is y!" jokes. The more I think about it the more it insults me for treating its audience like 10 year olds boys.

The general response for this seems to be either its awful or its alright. That's not good. Quite frankly I think it looks rather dull and phoned in. Like they didn't try.

That's actually quite a bit of brilliant writing on their part. With how many times Krillin as been hit, maimed, shot and killed his knowledge of what hurts and what REALLY hurts should be biblical.

Its funny, because I just recently watched some clips from the show on youtube and it's still as powerful as when I first saw it. The whole timeskp thing might've thrown me off a bit but it still maintained some good characterization for most of its cast.

I don't really see your gripe with this. Isn't the point of the artbook is for artists to draw dragonball characters in THEIR style. So all of them are gonna look different, and they do. You're saying Kubo's style doesn't match this vague-style that makes them recognizable, yet what about Araki? His is just a jojo character with a super saiyan wig. And again, what about oda? With your logic nobody would know it was yamcha if the wolf wasn't there.

Finally caught up. (With bits of peeking at the One manga along the way) The art is fantastic, especially the latest manga's of Metal Bat going to work. I think what I like most is the comparison between the regular heroes and Saitama as they work hard, go through the motions of trials and tribulations, while Saitama is just bored out of his mind. As for the recent chapters, Metal Bat is pretty awesome and I'm pretty sure Garou would've been dead if that last swing connected, but a little girl seeing her big brother give the street a new coat of paint would be pretty bad. Regardless, Metal Bat jumped to my top favorite hero with just how well the panels were choreographed for him. But honestly, my all time favorite scene is this one:

The fact that Saitama is very vocal about it yet still lets it happen is just too goddamn funny. Makes me wonder how many other heroes are gonna freeload off of him. Great stuff.

! I'm just assuming, but I think the paradox of Eddie shooting himself is finally unraveling. This Thawne is the Thawne from the timeline in which Barry erased Wells killing Cisco or a similar timeline in which Thawne never died. Basically its the universe saying "Oh, this guy's missing. Lemme fix that."

So Ippo needs to figure out that his goal is to fight for Kumi? Umm, duh?

Honestly, it felt inconsistent. The Kong Gun lacked the instantaneous and devastating impact from the manga, in fact, it would've saved a ton of money for them to just have Doflamingo just snap from point A to point B, similar to a jet pistol animation. (I was expecting them to just slow down time on impact then mingo goes off like a bullet.) This is really weird since they basically use that very animation for when Luffy launches himself. Toei is a gigantic enigma when it comes to why they do what they do animation-wise.
