Luffy, due to him being laid back and funny.

RE: Hip Hop Thread
Don't know if anyone on here has heard this, but Kendrick Lamar has caused a bit of a stir with his verse on Big Sean's new track "Control", name dropping other artists such as J.Cole, Drake, Wale, etc. Especially among New York rappers with his I'm the King of New York line. Lupe, Joell Ortiz and a few others have already responded back with tracks of their own.
Lupe's response was more of taking the piss (he was imidating different rappers). Joell's response was more of a friendly response, but the person who was more personal was Papoose. Papoose's track was more of a diss, because he 'disrespected' New York, even though I view to be the best response. It's quite enjoyable to hear these tracks though.

RE: Favorite Arc/Saga
The Skypiea Saga was brilliant, and Baroque as a close second.

RE: Chapter 716: "Don Chinjao"
I simply don't understand peoples complaints, we've been reading over a decades worth of content. OP's superior content has kept us all coming back. How can people not have faith in Oda and the process? Wed. morning is my favorite part of the week and I cannot wrap my head around the idea that people do not like the product, or at least complain as if they could be doing better. Perhaps I'm naive and some people enjoy being critical, but I just love it too much to get worked up about a battle royal or whatever sticks in someone's particular craw.
God, I still remember when I started reading OP after just reading Naruto. It's just been so good and such a great journey.
The criticism I have heard from the Dressrosa arc tournament have mainly been people who are grasping at straws, making conjectures and misusing terms to suit them. Any other arc, I could understand why people felt a certain way and addressed the issues they had with the story characters etc in a more coherent manner, even if I did disagreed with them.
The common complaints I hear about this tournament are down below.
'Oda is wasting time on these characters' - I wonder how these people know which characters are relevant. I wish people would stop it, people are making grand claims on what Oda is wasting time on and the arc is nowhere near completed yet to say to even state what he wasted time on. Also I hate people coming with bullshit deductions about 'We don't know if they are relevant, therefore they are irrelevant' nonsense.
"It's too slow paced" When it comes to actually focusing on the blocks themselves, Block B was only two chapters (707 and 709), Block C is longer but it is understandable since it is the main, but nothing too long at all. Plus Oda still has certain mysteries about is the 'real objective' for the Chinjao participating in the tournament, what is Bart's problem with Luffy, why does Rebecca want to kill Doflamingo and how will Burgess play a role.
I understand people's complaints, and it is simply not enough Fujitora. When Fujitora stated he was going to Greenbit in 705, then the tournament was suddenly deemed as dragging and Oda wasting time,and apart from Diamante, Rebecca, Burgess and Bart, the contestants were all deemed as fodder or irrelevant to the storyline, because people came to their conclusions. You can say that people wanted to see other sub-plots ex. Sanji or Nami, Chopper's Brook one, but now they have, the people who complain about the tournament are normally the ones who want to see Fujitora throw meteorites all chapter, then it will be the 'best chapter evaa'
I simply conclude this as people complaining just to complain. I can imagine when the Alliance battling the Zoan army and people will be bleating 'This is pointless, Oda is wasting time, I want to see them fight Kaido'
Edit: The Dressrosa arc pacing been great so far.

RE: What makes One Piece good-What Oda has done to make One Piece what it is
He can balance out humor well and make a great storyline. The characters, whether they are main, side or villains, I become to love. The themes of friendship, dreams make me feel emotionally invested, I love the crew's interraction, it makes me just happy to read the series. The arcs themselves. I never get bored re-reading arcs, because I find it so entertaining.
The storyline. There are so many things I want to find out, and what I have found that, that was previously a mystery has kept me thoroughly entertained. I have so much to look forward to, and Oda keeps adding more mysteries. Dressrosa for example, I have never been more entertained when he added characters such as Cavendish giving his own story to kill the worst generation because of lack of fame, Don Chinjao have a grudge against Luffy because Garp. I am entertained about characters that have not been foreshadowed and it has been less that twenty chapters.
The Flashbacks are brilliant - Norland's was brilliant. Nami, Robin, Chopper, Brook, Sanji etc were emotional and brilliantly narrated, and I thought they were well done.
The overall mood - You always have your light hearted moments and sad moments, and I like that there isn't a sad moment going on for a long period of time. In other words, while it has its sad moments, it doesn't get too depressing to read, there is always some moment which isn't as serious, and I like that.

RE: Chapter 709: King Punch
@The:
So… What do you guys think will happen in chapter 710? Will we get a Dressrosa flashback for a couple of chapters, or will the focus shift to another group? Or will the tournament simply continue on.
I don't know about a flashback, but I wouldn't mind it. I am really interested in this 'tragic history' of Dressrosa, so flashback or not I would be very happy of more information about it. Either way I would be happy with a dialogue heavy chapter. If not, I can see the chapter being broken up into two parts, and the first part would be more of an exposition about the dressrosa history and the second half would have Block C starting.
Edit: Right now I am more interested in this history, than the tournament itself. I like when Oda provides more information, and adds even more of a story for the antagonist, especially when Doflamingo is my favourite one.

RE: Top-Selling Manga 2013 in Japan (first half 2013)
My favourite series and my second favourite ongoing shonen series in second place :)
I can definitely see Attack on Titan in second place overall this year, due to the fantastic adaptation it currently has.

RE: One Piece 699: The Morning News
@Maynard:
700 probably isn't what many people expect. I think it'll just continue the story where it left off and not show crazy stuff because its just chapter x00. If you expect something big HAS to happen at it won't.. It just isn't worth the possible disappointment as I've experienced pretty often with other manga and anime.
Just expect a great chapter like every week as we are used to. Just don't set yourself up for a possible bummer.
Lol agreed. People would be pretty disappointed if Kaido, Akainu (or whoever) doesn't appear.
