RE: Who is the final villain 3.0
@Flamin-Fist:
In Chapter 224, BB was presented as a very distinguished opponent. He appeared to stand out with more admirable ideals. Almost like a version of Luffy with a bad moral compass. At that time, I would have certainly pegged BB as the final villain. Even as recently as the Impel Down jail break, BB stands out as a master strategist. His improv skills are reminiscent of one Captain Jack Sparrow. Despite all this, I felt Oda backtracked on that reputation when he portrayed BB at Marineford, where we saw BB’s true colors of cowardice. Since Marineford, I’ve had a hard time accepting that a coward like BB is worthy of being the final villain. I want to see BB bring back those original vibes, if he does I could see him fitting the role of final villain. But he was portrayed so in such a bad light at Marineford it almost made me wonder if Oda himself changed his mind and decided to take BB in a different direction. Unless BB gets some good character development, right now my money is on Im.
Teach has probably the best development of any of the minor characters. Arguably more than some of the SH crew. Teach has always shown his cowardice even against Ace.
Roger's spirit lives on in both Luffy and Teach. All share the same goal to be Pirate King so that they can be the most Free. But all went about it differently. Luffy going the most pure straight forward route. Roger was middle of the road, some bad stuff like killing crews but mostly good, likely the line right between Shanks and Buggy honestly. lol. However while Luffy is the most pure and straight forward, Teach is the most corrupted and underhanded. Roger wanted himself to be the most free, Luffy wants the same but he also wants everyone to be free in the process. Teach wants to be the most free by being the one in control, similar to the spot Imu has now.
This disagreement between the Blackbeard camp and the World Government camp makes sense because both camps are supported by things Oda has been very clearly setting up for.
First, Blackbeard has been shown as the anti-Luffy, and while that is not guarantee of final villain status (Katakuri is also a mirror of Luffy, for example), it gives him some support. He was also portrayrd as a long term planner, someone with a similar sized main crew that very obviously suggests match ups with Luffy's crew, and Luffy's biggest rival for the title of PK. It makes sense for the manga to end with a series of 1v1 fights between the Strawhats and the Blackbeards.
But on the other hand, the plot has very strongly implied to be heading to a final war against the WG. We have the void century, the rio poneglyph, Luffy being hinted to be a type of chosen one, the WG being responsible for more evil in this manga than any other characters come even close to, and Luffy's ultimate skill of gathering allies anywhere being the key to win such an impossible war.
So it is obvious both confrontations are going to happen. But which one will happen first? Does BB take down the WG by himself and then become the final villain? Is it a three-way war? Or is BB just the penultimate boss?
Personally I lean on BB being the penultimate boss, but I could see the other possibilities. The way Oda is writing it makes a lot of ways possible.
I agree. I think BB's only chance for final villain is to align with and betray either the SH's or the WG again in the end.

RE: Who is the final villain 3.0
It has to be either Imu or BB. Blackbeard is the main enemy but Imu might be final villain due to what he embodies and stands for in the story.
It seems clear that Teach is the final Pirate villain but the WG will be it's own tyrant entirely. Unless, and this is a big unless, but the old theory of Joyboy being the D. that betrayed the D. clan, failed to carry out his promises, and also actually helped the Ancient Kingdom win. A lot goes into this theory and it seems kinda unlikely to me but it requires Joyboy to be the Original Nefertari and Vivi's clan to be D.'s as well as Teach pretending to align with Luffy temporarily, only to of course betray the Strawhats. lol.

RE: Chapter 942: Daimyo of Hakumai, Shimotsuki Yasuie
@Kaido:
I would wager Oda only made Toko Yasu's daughter in order to get Zoro to the Flower Capital (and maybe Hiyori, she's awfully close to her own funeral right now)
I've felt pretty confident since the beginning with the "I'm not a boy" jokes that Toko was Witching Hour Boy. Yasu being her father and mistaken for him only helps my theory I feel. Only problem is Witching Hour Boy is stated by the citizens of Wano to be male, but I feel like that's mostly due to the name. Also as close as Hiyori is to her funeral, I feel that she's completely safe until she reunites with Momonosuke

And green would´ve looked too ´Dragon-Ballish´
I was expecting any color but blue tbh.
U guys are all weird. I was expecting either Black, Blue or Purple. I knew he wouldn't be Shenron Green, but I did think he'd be darker than he is, the light blue is a nice surprise

RE: Official Wano Thread
ZeHaHaHaHa! Moriah and BlackBeard team-up. Teach making allies just like Luffy.
So what do you guys think the bounties for Queen and King are? So far I'm just expecting higher than Jack but lower than Luffy.
Also is Dressrosa the worst arc of the New World? Can we all agree on this?

RE: Chapter 924 : Ha*
If he reveals to be a dragon who ate a devil fruit that turned him into human, then he shouldn't have it..
My understanding is that only humans can be born with conqueror hakiTo my knowledge CoC has never been said to only be in humans. I know that Oversized humans like WB and BM are technically still humans but I feel like any race and living thing has the chance. So we could see Fishmen with CoC or Giants or Minks or Dwarves. OR A DRAGON!!!
=D -
RE: Chapter 924 : Ha*
I think all D's have CoC, I also think all the Yonko have it. I would be kinda surprised if Kaido didn't have it. I feel like all the Yonko can use all 3 types of Haki. Even if it isn't their main strength.

RE: Chapter 923: Emperor Kaidou VS Luffy
In this forum we measure power in Cavendishes only.
Can't we just use the Impel Down scale. Like ranking the characters by where we think their power level would land them in Impel Down. However in this scale I consider Yonko 1st mates and Admirals as a 6.5 and Yonko as a 7.
I feel like his timing was off by just that much that he had to sacrifice his arm in order to save Luffy. It's similar to how our heroes are always/usually winning by a hair without sacrificing too much; but you just have to accept timing exists for the sole purpose of plot, thus Shanks's situation. Or something. I'm old.
We don't know Shanks' level back then and I would agree that he had to lose the arm to save Luffy. Also I think the fact that Shanks sought out Rayliegh after losing his arm should hint to Luffy's training with Rayliegh as following in Shanks' footsteps

RE: Chapter 923: Emperor Kaidou VS Luffy
When Roger entrusted Garp with Ace, Roger said that him and Garp almost killed each other many times.
Yea to me that doesn't mean they were equals, just that they've got a history. I figure at some point in the future Luffy will be able to say the same to Smoker. In my opinion Shiki getting the Draw in the Battle of Ed War is closer than this.
=D We should have a new poll for who we think will appear in Wano. For instance, I don't see Big Mom happening in Wano, but I do see a possibility for Weevil. And a big possibility for BlackBeard. As well as Moriah and the usuals -
RE: Chapter 923: Emperor Kaidou VS Luffy
It was mentioned that Whitebeard and Garp fought equally with Roger.
Can you provide proof of this please? I personally have only seen WhiteBeard as stated to have stalemated Roger. I remember Garp cornering Roger but never any mention of them being equals.

RE: Chapter 923: Emperor Kaidou VS Luffy
Despite the good, I am also a little bothered by the OHKO. I understand the message behind such an ending to scream that Kaidou is indeed the strongert creature alive, so strong that defeating him is something out of anyone's league. However, at the same time, this OHKO feels a little unreasonable to me considering Luffy's durability.
That said, we never know what are Oda's plans. Overall, the chapter was pretty good considering its merits, but not great considering that I'm astonished by the OHKO.
Luffy's Durability and Endurance are what make the OHKO so impressive even when compared to similar showings of power against him in the past.

RE: Official Wano Thread
It was my impression that Ace learned how to make hats in Wano and gave one giant hat to Oars, but that Oars Jr. never went himself to Wano. They met later.
Had to reread but it seems your right. Not sure how i missed that one. Or what sense it would make to weave this hat and then sail to another island to deliver it.
=D -
RE: Official Wano Thread
Come to think of it, it was extremely bold of Ace to venture into Wano four years ago, it being Kaidou's territory and all
He and Oars Jr. went so either they met up their or Ace made multiple voyages there.
And the latter would make it seem as though Wano wasn't so closed off to the WB Pirates and their allies.

RE: Official Wano Thread
I don't believe Orochi was Aware of who stole the corpse of Ryuuma. At least his goons didn't state who the original thief was (they blamed Zoro for stealing the sword from the original thief). Further I gotta say, that the Moriah now (Motto:"You do it!") might be different from the Moriah in the past. From his Little monologue about the NW, it sounded to me like Moriah was confident in himself (and had a good Crew without an army of Zombies). So I assume, that if he stole shadows back then, he used them for himself (like in shadow's asgard).
Maybe just before he went to Wano, he has learnt, that he can put shadows in dead bodies in the first place. I somehow wonder how he discovered that anyway.
But that is pure speculation though.I think we're on the right path. While I personally think he knew and just didn't tell since they never reclaimed Ryuma's body or sword. But I agree in thoughts that Moriah most likely used his shadow techniques to fight similar to how he fought in the Summit War but also think he didn't really utilized zombies like how he did on thriller bark.
But we know the main reason Kaido was working with Orochi to kill and torture Oden was for information on Raftel. So my question is, if that was 20 years ago then why did Kaido stop this plan. I mean if you want to get to Raftel and become Pirate King this doesn't seem like a bad plan imo. So why did he stop capturing former Jolly Roger Pirates for info?
_=DAlso wanna write this here before I see it anywhere else.
I have this theory that Apoo and Urouge joined Kaido's crew during the timeskip. When we saw Apoo running on thin Air during the timeskip, my theory is that he found a hidden access to a Sky Island in the White Sea, one that Kaido ruled.
I think Apoo joined Kaido after this and went to Kid's meeting with plans to take down Kid and Hawkins with Kaido. I think Apoo's motive for this would be his dislike of Kidd and the thought that this meeting would be to try and takeout Kaido.
Not sure exactly when Urouge joined but i think he also found Kaido on a Sky Island during the timeskip, and I think it was one of Kaido's men that saved Urouge from Cracker._ -
RE: Vivre Card: One Piece Visual Dictionary
Well, compare their ambitions, Mihawk went for it and beat every other swordsman, while Shanks probably only fights for
his friendssurvival. That paints Shanks as potentially stronger, but I guess neither cares. Like Zoro and Luffy.Ever since the title been introduced i feel like it's been misinterpreted. I think the title "World's Greatest Swordsman"/"World's Strongest Swordsman" was just that. It implies that he's the most skilled swordsman imo, but not the strongest, only because we know of stronger individuals. I think it's a title you earn from killing the former holder of the title. Thus once you kill the "World's Strongest Swordsman" in a sword fight you become the "World's Strongest Swordsman". The better question in my mind is how did the title get revived after Ryuma died, since he died from illness.

RE: Official Wano Thread
Could be. Even though 10y ago Kaidou probably didn't have that many forces at his command, neither was Moriah that strong to say that if he had zombies he would've defeated Kaidou. I mean com'on, if 0 skill - 0 talent Usopp managed to beat Perona (the circumstances dont matter), then i really doubt Moriah would've had the upper hand with a couple of zombies against Kaidou.
Your assuming too much here. Both Moriah and Kaido are very strong. Moriah only claims that if he had Oars he would've won. I think Moriah had zombies as it seems that Dr. Hogback is only needed to prepare, repair, and strengthen the zombies, I believe if a corpse is available Moriah can still reanimate it albeit with a shorter shelf life.
The context is that Moria's original crew was completelly killed, so he had only low tier disposable zombies and pirates, not even Absalom would have been with him back then. Perona was like 10 and Hogback was still a prominent doctor.
With the way that the people act around Kaido's goons, propaganda, plain and simple. I think we haven't got anyone on the flower capital talk about Kaido yet, so they could claim ignorance on all the bad shit going around as they didn't even bother to look outside their valley/wall/golden cage.
I don't think Kaido and Moriah were working together. I feel like their rivalry was getting intense and Moriah went to Wano to look for more powerful corpses to reanimate. He found Ryuma but like others of the past it was in too poor condition to reanimate. 3 years after the "Pirate Incident" that desecrated Ryuma's burial grounds. Kaido was recruited by Orochi to defeat Moriah for what he had done, learning of his history with Moriah. With Kaido's help Orochi killed the Oden Clan and took control of Wano. 8 years later Moriah would be defeated by Kaido and his crew would be killed.

RE: Official Wano Thread
I don't remember that it was ever said that it was actually Moria or his crew that stole Ryuuma's body. So somehow I always thought that someone else took it and then it ended up in Moria's hands later on. Though I don't know why someone else other than Moria would want to steal dead bodies; it would have been more logical to just steal the sword if it was someone else… So maybe it was Moria, but I also got the impression that Moria started to gather a zombie army only after he got defeated by Kaido, so like RigaCrypto said, why would he just keep Ryuuma's body for years?
He was probably saving it to reanimate once he found a doctor like Dr. Hogback who could fix it up. The same way he was doing with Oars.
=D -
RE: Official Wano Thread
From the last chapter, that certain Pirate incident 23y ago could be what trigger the downfall of the Kozuki clan. I'm not sure why would Moriah steal Ryuma's body 23y ago and kept him on his ship or what? When he fought Kaidou we don't know if he used zombies/reanimated people and we only know that he choosed that option for a crew after his living crew were all killed by Kaidou. Anyway, the part where Orochi sent Kaidou after him could be true at some extent.
You guys are doing good thinking. Seems like Kaido's involvement 23 yrs ago and his defeat 12 yrs ago could indeed be related and a key go the Kozuki's downfall. Oden after his adventures with WhiteBeard and Roger respectively was pushing to open the borders still and a pirate destroying the burial grounds of their hero and stealing his body couldn't have been a good thing. So using that pirate's adversary to gain control and take over seems good although hypocritical. He's using a pirates help to help "protect Wano" in their minds by keeping the borders closed. Oden trying to open the borders possibly could've started the Ryuma incident and thus the Kozuki's downfall.
=D -
RE: Official Wano Thread
That's what i'm saying. In the OP special it is shown that Hogback together with Absalom and Perona were in Wano. That means that they were already in Moriah's crew. The one possibility is that Hogback profaned the grave alone, when he wasn't in Moriah's crew and i can't imagine what his reason would be for doing that.
Actually from what is implied by the series it seems that Moriah and his crew were probably storing dead bodies for Moriah to reanimate later well before he met Hogback. When Hogback met Moriah he had already acquired Oars' body and claims that had he made it a zombie before he wouldn't have lost to Kaido.
-[23 years ago] Ryuma's corpse and sword are stolen by Moriah
-[13 to 12 years ago] Moriah rivals Kaido and his crew is slaughtered in the process.
-[12 years ago] Moriah recruits Hogback, Perona, and Absalom.
-[7 years ago] Ryuma is reanimated

RE: Official Wano Thread
Due to the current timeline of events i'm just so curious as to what actually happened.
The Samurai are from 20 years ago. That's 2 years after Ace was born and 4 years after Roger Died. But also 8 years before Kaido and Moriah's rivalry. Is Orochi a Calamity or just a really strong ally to Kaido. So much mystery. I got high hopes for this arc as well but it honestly feels like my expectations are lower than those for Whole Cake and Reverie.

RE: Old Enemies!!
How many old enemies do you guys think will reappear? And which ones? Why?
I know some are more obvious to return at one point, almost guaranteed, like Croc, Moriah, Smoker, Kuzan, Jack, etc.
While others are just guesses as to if they'll reappear, like Arlong, Krieg, Kuro, Enel, Foxy, etc.
How do you think the character will be reintroduced into the story? Like Jango being reintroduced as a marine in a cover story.

RE: Old Enemies!!
Krieg is a wuss who had to leave the grand line to go to the weakest blue.
Hater!
Krieg left Paradise because Mihawk was chasing him. And when Mihawk finally did catch up Krieg was ready to give him the hands but Hawkeyes ran away. Give this man his props. He wasn't giving up for nothing.

RE: Whose light will be erased?
I don't think Vivi will die. I've always thought that at some point she'd rejoin the crew. Not sure if her being targeted will help this happen or not yet tho. I believe Vivi is being targeted solely for her past as a StrawHat and member of Baroque Works. Vivi will be how the WG shows dominance and takes a stand against the StrawHats. Vivi however I expect to live through whatever the WG has planned. I see targeting Vivi as more death flags for Cobra.
WG will target Vivi but kill Cobra. To show what happens when u don't join the Tenryuubito and align yourself with Pirates, while also pretty much declaring war against Luffy.
=D -
RE: A One Piece Rabbit Hole of Theories - The Straw Hat Under Marie Geoise
I agree with the Kitetsu theory in that the old Gorosei dude has the sword. But then again I still believe the younger Gorosei member will have some relation to Sanji and the Vinsmokes. I'm pretty sure as a member of the Gorosei it wouldn't be hard to acquire.
I don't like the idea that the "grand line is a construct of the WG" theory either. However I do believe that the Red Line will be destroyed in the end by Luffy. I think the Red Line was a concept made by Joy Boy to help hide the poneglyphs from the WG. I also feel like the All Blue is Fishman Island and that the true all blue will be when the Red Line is destroyed.
=D -
RE: Old Enemies!!
In all seriousness, who was actually weaker than Luffy before the CP9 Saga? I think it was just Alvida, Morgan, Kuro, and Galdino but at the same time I feel Galdino and Kuro could've been stronger due to their abilities. I wouldn't say Luffy proved stronger than most of the enemies he'd faced early on, in fact I would argue that he actually lost to Krieg. But Don Krieg is literally one of my favorite villains tho.
=D -
RE: Old Enemies!!
Literally every enemy before Lucci was weaker than Luffy (except Crocodile, Smoker, and Aokiji). He was handicapped in every fight but none of them were stronger by any stretch of the imagination. I suggest you try rereading those earlier arcs.
Wow, didn't know people really thought like this. Luffy struggled hard in the beginning bro, even Buggy would've beaten him if Nami didn't help. A lot of earlier villains were stronger than Luffy. Arlong was stronger than Luffy. Enel was stronger than Luffy. lol.
=D -
RE: A One Piece Rabbit Hole of Theories - The Straw Hat Under Marie Geoise
I feel confident at this point that the "StrawHat" treasure found in Mariejois and the StrawHat worn by Luffy and Roger have the exact same powers. I think that the StrawHat in Mariejois used to belong to Joy Boy. And I feel like both this hat and the current StrawHat worn by Luffy grant the user the ability to "Hear the Voice of All Things".
Right now my only evidence for this theory is the knowledge that Joy Boy, Roger, and Luffy seem to all have this ability to "Hear the Voice of All Things". However, I feel confident that I'm correct here.
=D -
RE: The Lev Ely Discussion Thread
I feel like the spellings Oda put out are to help with the pronunciations more than anything. U can still spell it how you want, but u should be pronouncing Mariejois as Mary Geoise and Reverie as Levely.
=D -
RE: Old Enemies!!
Rob Lucci may get that strong only because he's the first villain Luffy actually defeated or surpassed. Every win before Lucci was mostly luck, as Luffy was fighting stronger opponents he had very little chance against. {Except Alvida and Morgan}

=D -
RE: The Lev Ely Discussion Thread
6 or 7 BABYCAKES
A volume, an extra half tops. Like 15-17 chapters.
So now that we are 3 chapters in do u guys still think Reverie will only be one volume. I'm still going with around 50 chapters but if Oda does make it extra short I still think we'll get over 30 chapters for Reverie.
=D -
RE: Old Enemies!!
I think we'll see alot of old villains again but I don't think they'll have major roles. Krieg is the only one I think Luffy might end up fighting again, and that's only because he's the first real loss that Luffy has. Foxy, Kuro, and Morgan might have a cover story. Arlong could come back for his sister and FI.
Alvida, Buggy, Galdino, Croc, Enel, Kuzan, Lucci, Moriah, etc. will all return in the story for one reason or another.

I forsee a big war you guys.
I'm thinking Doffy will get free during this Reverie and rescued by Kaido or Yarisugi.
I also think that Luffy will be a great big discussion as will be Dragon and Teach.
Shichibukai abolishment seems near as well.
Cobra's Death and some Poneglyph information.
More Vivi stuff, hopefully she hints to rejoining the crew.
And lots of World Building Info Dumps.I'm thinking 50-60 chapters of this.

Wow guys, it's really over. Well overall i like to judge One Piece in Saga's. And this one was Amazing, that said I think this arc is the overall worst due to that low pay off after that long chase and fight with Katakuri. Yes i know the pay off was necessary and great but it wasn't good enough to make up for that terrible chase or drawn-out fight. Luffy's bounty kind of makes it worth it tho.

RE: Official Totland Thread
I'm kinda confused by where we are in this chapter. In the start of it the Cotton Candy snow and Jinbe indicate that the SH's are almost out of the territory but the last few pages say that they have successfully escaped. I'm so curious as to what Oda does here. I can't imagine him ending it after just revealing Brulee and Katakuri's backstory, showing Moscato is alive, and with such a sad ending for Pudding. I can't wait for the next chapter but this suspense is giving me a heart attack. Plus we still aren't sure of what happened between Pudding and Sanji, I feel like Oda is saving this for something big now because if it was just a kiss I think he would've shown it. I have to live to see chapter 903, even if it kills me.
=D -
RE: Chapter 902: End Roll
I don't think this arc is over just yet. I just can't. I don't think Oda is letting the SH's leave Tottoland with Zeus and I definitely don't believe that Pudding's ending could be this sad.
I can't wait for next chapter to see what Oda does. Cuz I know there's gonna be some twist and turns left for our heroes. They're not outta the territory yet, but they are close tho.
