great chapter, i just love this arc so much. it's definitly one of the best by now. and at the end, maybe the best. there is so much going on!

well, maybe she doesn't know that he is that particular person? maybe it's the same as the scene with wanpoco, where he plays with his family just to be near them. he is friends with rebecca and recognizes her, but she doesn't know he's her boyfriend/father/whatever and he became friends with her wothout telling her the truth. her crying is just due to the fact that she's missing her beloved ones and entered the tournament to revenge/save them. or maybe he told her and she believes him, despite the fact that she can't remember. or it's something like "the bond between them is extraordinary strong and a df ability can't break it" or something along those lines.

if you look very closely, you can see a piece of his beard. a little white spot surrounded by a black line right under his helmet. as we see luffy from above, this has to be a piece of his fakebeard. at least that's what i'm assuming.

is this tsunades lower body? and why does it suddenly stand infront of the others? she was with orochimaru first, wasn't she? can her lower body teleport itself to others? that would be a nice feature.

After everything we've found out about Dofla, it wouldn't surprise me if he was/is doing business with three of the Yonko. And you pointed out a good connection between him and Big Mom. There's also this thing:

Someone else noticed this and had a theory about Dofla poisoning WB. Dunno about that, but it looks like he could've been the one providing WB with his medicine.)

I like this one very much. After re-reading OP for the past few weeks, i also noticed the smiley on the bottle. i'm sure that there will be a connection of some sort between WB and Dofla. I think that it could also be possible that it wasn't poisonous. WB just needed a sort of medicine and i doubt that a man like WB with his power and influence would't notice Doflas attempt. apart from the fact that Dofla is a shady character from the SHs point of view (and naturally from the readers point of view), he could just be doing his business. on the other hand, Dofla's a crafty person and we will still have to find out what his main motivations are. hopefully in the dressrosa arc. when we find out about his past, some questions will definitely be answered.

One detail about this chapter that many seem to forget is the fact that the whole tournament apparently is corrupted. Some of you can't see the tourney coming to a natural conclusion, and I agree with this. The corruption factor could create a situation like that. Let's say some team up against Rebecca and Lucy refuses to fight or something like that. Also, perhaps one of the participants is killed by another. We don't know whether that's standard procedure yet.

I really don't see the participants to keep it the fair way since there is a logia to win. There are too many interests involved. From pirate crews, assassins, kings of countrys. Everyone wants the damn fruit, but Dofla isn't going to just give it away. It wasn't his intention in the first place. He didn't say "Yeah, let's make a fun and fair competition here and the winner will win the fruit FOR REAL" and in the end they will celebrate the victor and go home peacefully. I don't think that this has anything to do with a sports-like-tournament, because it's a friggin trap for luffy and nothing else. Something is going to go wrong sooner or later for sure and that's where zoro and sanji have the chance to enter the stage and fight one or two enemys we already saw. Maybe Franky too. It's just a theory, but that's what I'm expecting from the upcoming chapters.

Now that we got a confirmation about what happens to the DFs when the user dies, I wonder if we're gonna learn about who used the known DFs beforehand. Like who happened to have the gomu gomu no mi before luffy?! I think, Oda opened a new possible story-line with this. At least I hope we learn more about the past of the OP world.

Look at the list why Sanji "can" get the Mera Mera fruit:

1- Sanji use fire in his attacks. Power up.
2- Sanji with sky walk doesn't need to swim if Jimbei joins.
3- Zoro will cut fire so Sanji/Zoro rivalry.
4- Sanji needs to become stronger than Jimbei.
5- Mugiwaras needs a Logia in crew. Zoro, Franky, Nami, Ussop, Jimbei can swim. Chopper, Brook, Luffy, Robin, Sanji? 5-5 swimmer and non swimmer.
6- Sanji needs to get a higher bountie. One higher than Jimbei so Jimbei will be the 4th force.
7- Sanji is the third in command like Copper Gaban was in Gol D Roger crew.
8- The Strawhat pirates will get an influence of Gol D Roger pirates and Whitebeard Pirates. Luffy (Rayleigh), Sanji (Marco and Ace fruit?)
9- I want to see Sanji creating HEARTS with fire.
10- Blackbeard is getting the strongest fruits, this is a way to hide one.
11- Sanji can cook with his OWN fire.
12- Ace was the third most powerful in Whitebeard army, Sanji will become the third most powerful in Strawhat pirates after Jimbei joins.
13- Strawhat pirates will become more dangerous is they get that fruit for a crewmate.
14- Sanji can light his own cigarretttes with a finger.
15- Sanji yellow hair=fire come on!!!!
16- Zoro is the only one who did an important thing for Luffy, getting all the damage from Kuma. This is a way for Sanji to do some sort of sacrifice for to protect him Luffy.
17- I think Sanji will be seriously damaged this arc and the only way to save him will be to eat that fruit.
18- Marco and Sanji will fight some day.
19- THE FORM OF THE FIRE IN THE FRUIT IS LIKE SANJI EYEBROWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 05 could be because his birthday's in May… but that's the same gomu joke (it's May 6th).

I'm very exited by the tournement! It's pretty nostalgic for me, because DB was the first manga I read and was aware of it as a manga. I hope, there are gonna be some new and strong characters for Luffy to deal with, besides the Dofla family. And it is a very good foundation for the arc to become one of the best in OP. All the little side-storys could lead to a large whole. Fairies, Violeta. Got to love OP!
