For me the thing Chopper noticed is that this virus acts like the opposite of the one used in Udon, which make you a mummie with your body burning in heat. So in order to stop the Oni Plague, he might inoculate the Mummie virus to the Onis, so the two virus cancel each other. And since he was affected by the virus, he is the perfect candidate on whom he can experiment this theory.

Hasegawa won't stay long in this state, Sorachi love making him rise and fall like a cat playing with a mouse (or a gorilla with a banana). I think the kid in last page is the daughter of Sarutobi. I see her very well telling her child (or paying a stranger to act like) she is Gin-chan's daughter. And since Shinpachi is wearing this name now, it is normal the kid mistook him for Gintoki.

The problem with Sorachi is that when he makes something "cliche", it is very often to troll the readers. For now I don't know what to expect for next chapters. It can be the biggest troll of the whole manga, all characters except Shinpachi can be dead or simply a cliche but very emotive end. Sorachi is still unpredictable. But I am sure last lesson will be called "All is well that ends well".

This week's chapter…. he really did it ... damn gorilla. 3d2y at Shabondy archipelago is no more a joke...

! There's some pairs of feet at the end of the chapter that aren't instantly recognizable. I guess the ones beside Asaemon are either Ketsuno Ana & Gedomaru or Ane & Mone, but I can't quite tell. The only recurring characters really missing at this point are Otsuu, Taka-chin & Hedoro. And I could see Tama coming back with the help of Leukocyte King fending off the nano bots in her body.

! It would be even funnier if we have Takatin back instead of the regular Takachin! I love how this arc is going anf I am sure that the leukocyte king will also make an appearance. However I hope that Sorachi will manage to give correct timescreen to all these characters. The risk to have a messed ending like in Shaman King is very high due to the big number of characters…
! In another topic it seems we will have mini bosses fights just like we had with the three omnious stars last arc. I wonder who will fight against the three mercenaries leader. Kagura against the yato can be epic and I can see Shinpachi against the shinra even if I won't like it. It will be very hard for sorachi to make something better than Zura's fight.

! Jirochu and Pirako are back ! And it seems Asaemon and the prisoner mangaka joins the battle too! I hope Ketsuno Ana and co come so we can have some interactions with the yorozuya (Gin x Ketsuno and Shinpachi x Pandemonium)

I hope they will animate all the missing arcs before going all serious ! I can't wait to qnsee Kagura's bf arc animated !

Just read the new translation by Hiwamatanoboru. It seems that chichi asked zonge to hit Neo with a laser and that was we saw a few chapters ago when Neo was fighting the Dragon King. However I still don't understand why ? I suppose it is not just to measure the level of Neo (or at least I hope so…)

It seems Utsuro vs Umibozu is ending with a victory for the baldy. I hope Kamui won't come next chapter and kill him:sad:
Also Kagura lost her fight too. This hand laying on the soil… I hope she did not become one-handed like her father. Great time for Gintoki to appear.

Yes Gintama is becoming more and more like Game of Thrones with all these main characters dying. I really hope Umibozu won't die but it seems the gorilla already buried him. Also I saw the 315th episode and the staff succeeded to make it sadder than the manga. I almost cried even if I knew that Isaburo will die. Only bad thing is that they did not show the hand of Oboro flying. Too much blood already I guess.

I loved the whole first half of this chapter. I happy to see that the monster family and especially Kamui had a few happiness moments altogether. However the second half is auguring an end at least as dark and sad as Isaburo's family death…

Well even if we have a Sorachi version of "How I met your Momi" I think the main purpose of that arc is to explains the effects of Altana. However, your idea of the Orochi saving Umibozu can be pretty nice to see. I know it won't happen, but Sorachi should do a spinoff manga about the young days of Umibozu once Gintama ends.

I really hope we will see the current chapters animated, especially the last one. One of the rare romance moments in Gintama without trolling. Sorachi is getting better and better!

Farewell Shinsengumi arc started in the anime and in a great way! The visuals of the opening and the ost of the preview are simply epic!

I don't think the manga will end without a peaceful and funny little arc in edo. We are still waiting for a happy ending for madao.

Very sad ending indeed. Greatly adapted from the manga. Happy to see that we will have the Farewell Shinsengumi arc. I only hope that they will do a correct opening for this arc.

At crunchyroll on the comment section someone asked where was Katsura during all this and the other guy went: He's on stand by. Gosh, I burst out laughing out while still crying. Really loved that christmas episode lol

Don't feel ashamed, I think that there are hundreds of guys that cried watching it. I would have never expected that the anime will make this adaptation of the manga with this level of perfection! Once more anime proved that it can be better than the manga! It even surpassed the epicneess of the fight against Housen or Jirochou!

When I first read this arc I also asked in each page where is Zura! He will miss all the fun! Now at last Sorachi got him out from his stand by! And in such a glorious way! ^^

Wow great episode this week. Great animation, ost, fights and timing. All was loyally taken for the manga!
And the ending is one of the best so far. The transition between past and present in the photos shows how much Gintama can have sad and serious stories. Especially when showing all the losses (Obione, Tatsugorou, Mitsuba), that reminds all saddest episodes of this manga. (I even spotted someone drinking behind the 4 joui! They did not forget Kurokono ^^)
I guess they will change the opening at Shinsengumi arc, I hope it will be as great as the ending. I am a big fan of all previous Does opening/ending, that's a shame if they don't make a good animation with such good music.

I don't think Sakamoto's fight can top Zura's (because it was pretty grand and Zura is the best, there is just no way around it), but it is shaping to become at the least not any worse, especially with Mutsu having already taken a hit. And I shouldn't be surprised at this point, but I still didn't expect Nobunobu of all people to get character development.

And in half a day, Shogun Assassination arc begins. This ought to be good. And long. The longest animated arc so far, Yoshiwara, had 8 episodes for 19 chapters (and dragged somewhat with that pacing). This arc has 23 chapters in the manga, so there is no way it will be done in December, so the anime will have to continue into the fourth cour. And then we have the yet unconfirmed but already hinted Farewell Shinsengumi arc which tops them all at 27 chapters, and that would push the anime into fifth cour with a few empty slots remaining. Just enough to cover the chapters which haven't been animated yet.

I expect them to last to next April, even if today's episode was a little rushed imo.

This may be an optimistic estimate but I am willing to go with it. It's not like the ridiculous complaints how it is impossible to insert comedy between the serious arcs carry any weight. It is the Gintama anime, they can interrupt an arc, even a fight midway just to switch to a Yorozuya background just to fuck with their audience, and have a naked Kondo apologize afterwards.

Everything will work out.

Sorachi did it in the manga during the very intense fight of Takasugi VS Gintoki. Remember the magician Gin playing with the impaled Takasugi. So if the gorilla did it in the manga, anime staff will surely put some comedy too. (I am still hoping to see an episode beginning with the usual Ben Johnson discussion for the new year )

I used abrevation to not spoil LegendarySSJ4 with the names of these arcs. Assassination is spelled approximately the same way in French by the way (assassinat).

So implicitly Gintoki and Takasugi acknowledged Zura as their general and as the strongest. Now I am frustrated we did not see him fight more in the manga! I would have loved see him vs Housen or a yato!

At least if they choosed to display the SAA trailer this week we can assume that they will have some trolling in the end of the two next episodes like:
Gintoki: We received another letter of insults from an angry fan for showing the SA arc this soon. He said there is other arcs before this one that need to be displayed. Shinpachi put it in the burnable garbagei with all the other letters…
Shinpachi: You should treat the fans more respectfully!!
Kagura: They are a pain in the ass! If they want never ending anime go watch One Piece! Their budget is 100 times bigger than ours!

He has always been my favorite charachter in Gintama and now he is even more! So he only accepts the name of Zura when he can go at full strength. During the whole manga he was restraining himself in order to accomplish his role of general. Only one one word to qualify that: Zurawesomeness.

I hope they will do a Ben Johnson episode for the new year even if it is in the midle of the SA arc

Well that doesn't make sense if they have good ratings. I hope they will do all the missing arcs (especially ramen girl arc) after the shogun assassination arc. If they don't they can miss something important for the future. Sorachi's speciality is to hide very important details in funny episodes

Are they rushing the end of the anime with airing this arc so soon due to bad audience? Is not it one of the most popular anime in Japan? Anybody has these stats? It could help us understand this mess…

Zura the boss of the week!

! First he beats shinsengumi in the anime and now in the new chapter and getting all serious I think for the first time in the whole manga! Loved the "Piccolo" part when he threw his jacket!

About the ending, I just thought of something. Takasugi, although being the most important character in the Shogun assassination arc (on par with Gintoki) he is under representated in this ending. We only see him very briefly and only parts of his body are shown. So I think, and that would be just great if they do it, we will have another version of this ending when the arc will begin but with Takasugi replacing Gintoki parts. A little like Benizakura ending where Takasugi and Gintoki had exactly the same time of appearance!

Haha the Hashirou's mother arc one of the best! Good that you like all the charachters because if you're at Benizakura, there is at least half of them that haven't been intorduced yet! You can watch the movie adaptation of Benizakura, it has new musics (by Does, the singer of Shura, the ending of Benizakura episodes) and some more gags.
However be careful in this forum because there will be a lot of major spoilers here.

With all of last weeks talk of the dragon hole being under the terminal, i feel like the ending is gonna replicate that fake anime ending a lot. Just swap Takasugi out for Utsoro.

Yato heal very fast but if they fought seriously it can end only by the death of one of them.

Happy to see I was wrong about Gin and Zura conflicting. Zura had the perfect reaction, he is supporting Gintoki surprisingly well. I hope we will see some Zura/Gin fighting together like in Benizakura.

Umibozu seems unharmed. It means he did not fight with Kamui. Maybe they made some kind of deal, or else Kamui and Abuto managed to run away.

Yes I forgot Toriko in my list, I am still reading it weekly with One Piece and Gintama though Gintama is my favorite. It is unique in its kind and I don't think any other Jump manga can be as free as this one. As main charachters we have a drunkard, a four eyes nerd, a vulgar little girl, a night club hostess, a masochist ninja, a pervert policeman, a prostitute, a lesbian, an occasional crossdresser terrorist, a useless hoodlum and Elisabeth. That is the exact reflect of our modern society! Also it is the only jump shonen where women are normal charachters and not only boobs on feets here to satisfy japanese teenagers (One Piece was also like that in its first half but not anymore now unfortunately). I can find thousand of other reasons why Gintama is unique and the best Jump manga (even with the latest arcs) but I don't want to make a too long post :p

I read Death Note and I loved it though I think the second half was not as good as the first. I loved Beelzebub too, I was disappointed it ended too fast. I have more and more good critics on Assassination Classroom, I think I will give it a try soon ^^

Why not make Utsuro some kind of android with regen that took Shouyos face?

We already had a cyborg with regen abilities in the first Tama arc. Plot like that are not a new thing in Gintama. I don't know who are Kubo or Mashima. I assume that they are Bleach and Naruto autors, if that's the case I won't be able to debate with you because I never read them. I only read Gintama and One Piece in Jump, the two mangas worth reading even after more than ten years of parution imo.

I think Kyubei will have some sort part to play in the fall of the shogunate, after all, the Yagyu clan is serving directly under it. I would be more surprised if they didn't get involved in some way at all. And Tsukuyo don't need any reason to tag along her husbando :ninja:

Kyubei for next Shogun? She will build a babel tower over the Tokugawa ruins to rule edo :D
And Tsykuyo marrying Gintoki? Possible but Gintoki will have to win a lot on pachinko to be able to afford her ^^
