It just doesn't feel right to see sad things in this manga. D:
I'm usually not a sucker for cliched happy endings but here I'm really rooting for the gang.

^reddit is a… special kind of place. Yeah, let's put it that way.
It's hard to hate Makima when she's living with so many doggos. Then again, maybe those dogs are actually humans/devils who entirely succumbed to her, making it a lot darker than it looks?
Or Makima just likes dogs despite the fact that she can command almost any living being to act like one anyway.
That aside, I do feel bad for Denji. Having finally found a caring friend only to then have to kill him... I can't imagine what losing Power will do to him.
Mister author really likes to mess with his readers, eh? First the bomb lady, then shark best man and now Aki… :/
Kiku seems like an odd choice; I can't recall her doing anything that's visually interesting, compared to the likes of King, Queen, or Jack.
I figured Oden was coming, and Kinemon probably should have been in there from the start since they made a model for him and he plays a major role in Wano.
Not a fan of Killer's inclusion (when it comes to gameplay, he seems generic), but Urouge, on the other hand…
…probably won't be crazy interesting from a gameplay standpoint either. (though at least he'd have more going for him visually) Surprised that Apoo isn't in there, given his Devil Fruit powers and his role in the Wano arc.
Honestly, I might just get the Urouge DLC if only because of this video. #classic
How's the arena simulator (talking about expansions, bugs, meta variety, player base)? Obviously it can't be as good as the real thing, but I hear it's not too shabby.
Is it a lot of grinding or can you get decent cards while playing "normal" amounts of time per day (and maybe invest a bit to get a decent collection)?
I'm currently playing Gwent myself but it's getting to the point where the meta is getting stale and predictable so I'm throwing a few glances in MtG's direction.
Felt incredibly satisfying to see Professor Penis wipe the floor with the creepy peddler~
Didn't realize this chapter was released earlier this time.
Control devil does sound incredibly powerful… so whomever she manages to talk to (read: order) is under her control? Or are there exceptions (strong-willed people/devils, special people like Denji? Interesting, that one...
I have to say, the Gun Devil's design looks pretty impressive.
Smoothie plays like a bigger version of Jimbei with good AoE? But then again, they don't have anything else to base her playstyle on.
I'll probably be sitting this one out or at least wait till the DLC price drops. Not too keen on the presented characters.
^it's the opposite for me. One might wonder why Furudate is focusing on the non-crows but every time he does, he manages to make me care for them. And I feel like it adds further emotional weight to the match by fleshing out almost every player's background– makes the payoff all the more satisfying, you know?
That being said, Hinata is stealing the show anyway and I bloody love it. It feels so incredibly awesome to see where he's arrived after all those hardships he went through and even though the story's about to end, I'm enjoying it more than ever :^)
If I don't read the last chapter, technically it's not ending. Right? Right…?
Okay, off to read it then :')
[hide]As I thought, something tragic is about to happen.
In other news, the Gun devil's been caught already (imagine the power of his conqueror…) and has been split in massive chunks. And defeating it basically means collecting it and controlling its vast power. Welp, didn't see that one coming.
[/hide]
Do you mean the sword devil right? Wasn't that just after that arc while they were mourning… Honestly I only have memorized Makima's and Denji's name, and Power is a freebie, so when they were in mourning of eyepatch smoking lady?
Nah I'm referring to what's to come. Aki may have turned down the chance to join the Gun devil mission but I'm not buying it. This peaceful atmosphere (ie everyone happily barfing lol) can't be forever.
^the sad part about that is that those chapters are often the prelude for something really bad happening (eg. the gang getting ripped to shreds by the Gun devil)
They held out on making this season until they had a contract for 70 episodes. SHow is going to be running till 2026 at least.
70 episodes?! Christ, they're bound to run out of original ideas aren't they
After having watched a good number of them, I don't like how long-running shows tend to wear out after time and become incredibly stale… and now I fear for this one as well.
But I suppose having a contract for 70 episodes doesn't pay too bad.
Overall a solid season in my book. It does feel like the writers may be running out of ideas though; not surprising given the current number of episodes.
Personally I wouldn't mind waiting a year or two before they release another and possibly final season.
Invisible garbage truck Jerry, though- a win right there.
@They:
I must be forgetting the significance of that closed door at the end. Can anyone fill me in please?
It will also probably reveal some info about the former chainsaw and why everyone wants his heart I reckon.
For some reason I was harboring the hope that whatever happened in Hell would be reversed somehow but it clearly didn't… Aki losing one of his arms is tragic indeed but losing Sharkbro just like that is... it's just not fair :/
Other than that this chapter ended up being incredibly emotional. What a weird ride the author is taking us on every week~
I suppose I can't convince you to turn on the Switch?
Normally I read up about a new feature first before setting it up so HOME might need to wait a couple days for now.
Mine were adamant. Want one?
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I don't feel like turning on the switch, also I have the falinks at Home, do you have Home set up?
I can work with adamant, yeah. Thanks.
I don't have Home set up (yet) unfortunately.
Slowly but surely I'm getting bored of Makima. Usually I don't mind omnipotent characters but with her it's getting ridiculous. I dunno, possibly seeing her take a loss once in a while would help.
I'm a bit late to the party (only recently got the Switch) but maybe I'm lucky– does anyone have a jolly HA Falinks they don't need? I've been camping at its den for a while now and the RNG is just hating me today.
A bred one would be ideal but I'll take what I can get. Can't offer too much in return as I'm only getting started on breeding but lemme know anyway; thanks.
^now that you mention it, it does make you wonder how the story will continue once the magician is defeated and Farlin is saved (?). Expanding the story and leaving the dungeon wouldn't make any sense, really, given the title…
Bokuto truly is the epitome of an ace. So reliable~
On a side note, we now know who won the Spring tournament back then.
I said what the actual fuck last week but I reiterate it. WHAT THE GODDAMN FUCK!?
I just wonder how the conversation with the editor went.
"So you intend to draw a stand-off between those two guys?"
"Well, not exactly a stand-off…"
Euuuuhhh that was kinda discusting.
Let me ask you guys, what character do you find the most bizarre one of all we have seen?
Kdom, you were rigth and they turned allies. But I keep being not sure about the cocky piratería loyalty. Sugimoto sure has iron balls to play his cards like this.
It's hard to pick a favorite if they keep taking turns in doing something bizarre.
I really thought this week's edition would be about the main crew becoming allies with Boutarou but no, Usami had to go and play kinky Sherlock Holmes.
And that concludes Berserk 2020. See you next year then. :^)
Ended up getting the game at launch as well, finished it in about 3 days.
It's definitely different compared to PW3, what with the armor mechanic being introduced and aerial combat being a thing. And honestly, I like the changes. Armor in particular can render special attacks useless which really makes you think about how to approach certain enemies and how to play your cards.
The missions have gotten considerably shorter and you waste less time running around the map, waiting for some events to pop up; appreciate that!
Leveling up players (and maxing their crew levels for that matter) is a walk in the park compared to PW3. I certainly approve of that change as I'm not exactly fond of mindless grinding.
Certain characters are absolute monsters (Whitebeard, Farmgod Katakuri, Kaido, Akainu, …) while others were immensely nerfed (bye bye Fujitora's R1) and some characters are just plain useless; to me personally, at least (eg. Bartolomeo). All in all the balance is fine, there's enough worthwhile chars to keep you occupied with.
As for the modes, I didn't really care about the story mode (some parts are always going to be cut and most of the time you'll get some friendship centered original ending; couldn't care less for either).
Treasure log however-- especially with different sub sections-- turned out to be lots of fun.
And that gets me to my current problem- there's nothing left to do. I've maxed out all chars, got S rank for every available mission and tried out all chars. Now I'm just waiting for some DLC to drop and provide some new content (level 20 missions, perhaps?).
I thought we would be in hell longer for a nice fun adventure, but I guess the demons down there are so dangerous and they encountered one immediately they had to cut their stay short.
I wanted to see more of hell's demons.
I feel like the story would be over if they had stayed in Hell any longer. The darkness demon alone toyed with them and offed them like it's nothing. Makes for some great foreshadowing for future opponents but right now, Makima seems to be the only one who could stand toe-to-toe with Hell's demons.
I agree on the general consensus of this show tending to be batshit crazy, though~
^I do have to say I like those theories better than Santa just sacrificing himself to allow his granddaughter to take over. It would justify his hype as well.
Glad I'm not the only one who's not sure what just happened there.
Didn't we used to have seasonal anime threads?
Anyway, figured I'd chime in and mention just how similar Railgun 3's opening sounds to Accel World's opening back from 2012.
Unfortunately I've scaled down quite a bit on my anime watching in the last few months/years so these days I'm trying to hand-pick certain quality series. And after the disappointment that is Index 3 I'm both cautious and optimistic about Railgun. Cautious because I don't want to experience the same– pardon my French-- shit show that Index 3 ended up being, and optimistic because I just can't see JC Staff making such a huge mistake again.
And other than that and the occasional Haikyuu episode I'm really not watching much else currently.
While waiting for this to drop, I got myself PW3 the other day and have been going at it since.
It's been a while but what were your coin grinding strategies back then? I'm gunning for that platinum trophy :^)
Some people on 5ch already got this game. You can find some screenshots and short reviews.
I'm a bit jealous…
How's the general consensus? Is the gameplay well received?
I'm mostly wondering about the huge characters (Big Mom and Kaidou). I remember there being camera problems in certain stages.
^I don't feel like he will in this arc. Currently there's others stealing the spotlight (I totally enjoy those hand-to-hand fights we're getting lately) and Denji is just busy staying alive.
He'll get his chance to shine soon, I reckon
Kaidou looks like one huge ogre, stomping around and swinging his club. That doesn't seem like that much fun. Luffy on the other hand will be a blast to play with.
Fujitora will be ridiculously OP again, no question, which makes me wonder why they didn't include Eneru. I recently downloaded PW 3 (as a little warm up for this one) and I had totally forgotten just how much fun the lightning guy is.
They can't hype Makima too much though otherwise taking her down won't be believable.
I do like Mr. Instructor though (was it Mad Dog Kishibe?). Reminds me a bit of Garp/Rayleigh in that he mainly seems to use techniques unrelated to devil contracts to win battles; quite nonchalantly at that.
Now that's an entrance indeed! Compared to Santa Klaus' rather tame opening, the Chinese lady is nonchalantly decapitating dozens of enemies, getting to Denji like it's nothing.
What's intriguing me now is how Aki managed to foresee her attack. I take it Future is Best :^)
The chapters have become way too short considering they're released monthly. A shame…
It's so satisfying to see Hinata shine on the biggest stage. And it feels like there's even more to come. :^)
What's especially impressive about this to me is that as readers we've been able to witness his rise to the top. It's like watching an old friend finally get to fulfill their biggest dream and you know how much they've put into achieving that goal. I suppose that's impressive writing, isn't it?
Honestly, those last two chapters felt completely unnecessary. We'll just have to acknowledge they happened and move on.
Does anyone know what happened to the group scanlating the series (ie. ehscans)? Their site's been down for a couple of days now.
Naturally Power saw right through his disguise, pretending that she didn't know how to drive. Clever little demon!
Ienaga may have been a psycho but that selfless act at the end was admirable. I will actually miss his antics.
^looks like you're getting it.
[hide]The downside is that with all these characters getting offed so arbitrarily, one tends to care less for them. The group in the car I remember visiting the Tokyo branch (and leading Aki to the Future Devil right?) but that's about it.[/hide]
When you're reading a clash between some of Japan's best volleyball players, with a few world beaters mixed in, the enjoyment inevitably goes through the roof.
The chapter itself wasn't even fast-paced but it felt like it was over in a blink of an eye nonetheless; incredibly entertaining read!
"So it was a misunderstanding then? Hahaha what a relief! …is it dead though?"
Crazy just about sums it up, yup
Thorkell being pictured as a storm/demon seems about right
Wo, Big Mom and Kaidou both look AWFUL to play. Its cool that they're actual size and all the other characters are shrunk down to compensate but… crushing everyone like ants is super crazy boring. You won't get to see or feel any of your stuff landing and the fodder is even more fodder than usual. That level of overkill will be fun for a round or two, but that's going to just... not be fun very very fast.
I know they scaled up character like Whitebeard before but not to that degree.
Right? I don't remember Whitebeard being ten times the size of the fodder soldiers.
They probably tried to convey the feeling that the Yonkou are huge both in stature and might, I suppose but ended up going way beyond that. Now I'm wondering if Whitebeard's version will be resized as well.
Razh, that Letho scene practically oozes badassness. Possibly one of the best intros to a game I've ever seen.
