When the spot where Fairy Tail was holding hands changed into a smoking hole in the ground, for the briefest of moments, I felt at piece.

…Gildrats is going to die (or get wounded pretty badly like losing an arm)
I think in his case the proper expression would be losing the arm.

RE: Osama Bin Laden is dead. 9/11 remembrance.
Does anyone know muslim forums where it is not the general opinion that Bin Laden was an honorable man whose name is being dragged through the mud to ensure the sitting US president's re-election?

Haha, just today there was a thread posted at narutoforums "what would you do to Wendy".

How exactly is a bikini the best outfit to wear in a warzone ?
Armour has a point you know, to shield all the soft flesh she's exposing. Literaly Akuma could impale her through her vagina if he just snuck up on her here instead of anouncing his presence.Looking at the kinds of armor she likes to wear, he couldve done that anyway:

RE: Fairy Taint Discussion II
Grey, meanwhile, will probably get injured putting him in condition for a "fair" fight against Ultear. Nicely done!
Fair because she fought Zeref or because she's a girl?

RE: Fairy Taint Discussion II
Of course, I kind of forget why GH is supposed to be such a strong guild at this point. Was there a good reason?
Levy said "Now what is the strongest Guild doing on this island?" but that is according to a bad translator. I don't know where to get good FT translations. According to the same translator the council guy called Fairy Tail, Zeref and Grimoire Heart "The three biggest protuberances in the magic world".
That their Leader is Makarov's former Master and can thrash him without breaking a sweat or that Urtear can manipulate people on Gerard's level is speaking in their favor. But it seem that Hades has been a lousy teacher to those of the Lost Magic Boys that already have been or are going to be defeated. Or maybe he just sucks at picking good students.

RE: Fairy Taint Discussion II
is that really your only peeve about his post?
I already regret replying at all.
…and posting in a Fairy Tail thread for that matter.

RE: Fairy Taint Discussion II
lets say you can handle fire up to 1000 degrees. zancrow's fire is only 900 degress, natsu's fire is 750 degress. When they got combined like that it bumbed it up to 1100 degrees. boom zancrow can no longer handle it
So mixing in something that's burning at a lower temperature is raising the temperature?
-
RE: Fairy Taint Discussion II
^Natsu OHKOed Zancrow by combining two attacks Zancrow was immune against. One of which Zancrow was even using for nourishment. This is all so random nothing's really off the table.

@Kaba:
Anybody catch the latest episode? It was actually really good!
Daphne's powers are just plain hax.
And this filler arc is actually pretty good, some focus on the minor FT members.I am really liking this filler arc…
Normally I'd assume this was your first anime ever but since that can't be it I'm simply stunned. Ok sometimes when you're really bored you will watching anything, but I didnt think there are people that really like this stuff.

RE: Rock the Casbah: Arab-World Revolutions
Egypt's ruling military council is set to hand over power within months after voters overwhelmingly endorsed constitutional amendments in a referendum which paves the way for elections this summer.
(…)
The Muslim Brotherhood and the National Democratic Party (NDP) were the only main organisations to campaign for a "yes" vote, arguing that the sooner Egyptians returned to civilian rule the better.
Almost all the other main opposition figures, including Mr El Baradei, were opposed. They argued that summer elections would benefit the well-organised Muslim Brotherhood and NDP, and that a year-long interim period was required to develop Egypt's political base. -
RE: Fairy Taint Discussion II
Zancrow uses god flames which is more powerful then Natsu's dragon slayer so hes not even a dragon slayer.
Zancrow uses Hades flames. Also every other "Dragonslayer" got his magic from a stupid crystal so the dragon part stopped being relevant a while ago.
A: Zancrow ate fire. That's a pretty Dragonslayery thing to do.
B: The list is for fun. -
RE: Fairy Taint Discussion II
there was no surprise dragon or even god-slayer, he was making a joke.
It wasnt a surprise or it wasn't a slayer mage? Because Zancrow was a slayer.

And again, seeing as she actualy very well could challenge these things, why Hiro never has her learn any spells I don't understand.
non-primary magic among guild members is disappointingly rare in general. the only instance i can recall off the top of my head is Luxus using Fairy Law.

RE: Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra
@RobbyBevard:
Since merging the two threads together seems to be causing confusion rather than just solidifying the one topic, I'm unfusing them.
Sorry for the
tear=bendinginconvenience.Wasn't the confusion about the title from the fact that there are articles that use a new one? Like the Wall Street Journal interview or this one:
http://www.nickandmore.com/2011/03/10/nickelodeon-upfront-2011/
Nickelodeon, the global leader in television animation, will introduce 450 episodes of new animation programming over the next three years, with almost 200 episodes rolling out on Saturday mornings in 2012. (…) and the brand-new series The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra–a spinoff of Avatar: The Last Airbender,…

RE: Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra
Man, 2012 is far away.
@Thousand:
Blegh, a little sexiness would have been appreciated. Manly females are boring and lame. It's like saying females can't be badass unless they're beefed up. (…) Still wanted a sexy lead.
It's like you're saying females can't be sexy unless they have the muscle definition of a blow-up doll
Seriously though, we get a slight hint of something resembling an actual human body and people start talking about "muscle-girls" >_> -
RE: 485: ''Settling the Score - Whitebeard vs. the Blackbeard Pirates''
Lots of WB and BB lines was nice but like several others I was somewhat taken aback by the filler punches. I wanna know where these people get the gall to fool around with scenes of such importance.

It really bugs me that yibis doesn't mention anything on their homepage. :/
how about we make our next poll: did you know downloading fansubs is illegal?

RE: 482: ''The Power that Burns Even Fire - Akainu's Fierce Assault''
This man speaks the truth at great lengths.
Yah know… now that I think about it... the anime's quality started it's downward spiral after Enel left the picture.
Hmmm... must be connected somehow.
For that reason we wordfilter "God" into "Enel". Also it makes reading discussions about religion awesome.
-
RE: 482: ''The Power that Burns Even Fire - Akainu's Fierce Assault''
why not staying with the manga?
sure, if you can you make the voice actors read it to me.
-
RE: 482: ''The Power that Burns Even Fire - Akainu's Fierce Assault''
But that doesn't work with fillers. Whether Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto or Bleach… All TV fillers are always put into the storyline that way there are contradicting pieces. Pick them out and compare to the manga:
I know the mangas and animes of bleach and naruto. It works like a charm. I needed to watch naruto the fillers of his search for suckse, why? As for the Sanbi filler arc. I looked at the titles/synopses to find the point where they returned to canon material. If they happened to mix in one or two scenes from the manga in the middle of the filler I certainly didn't notice anything/miss them.
And what would I have missed during OP's Warship Island Arc , Post-Arabasta Arc, Goat Island Arc, Rainbow Mist Arc, G-8 Arc, Ocean's Dream Arc, Foxy's Return Arc, Ice Hunter Arc, Spa Island Arc and Little East Blue Arc? I guess at times the canon material overlaps with the beginning or end of a filler arc, and the ship will probably not be in exactly the same place, big deal O_O
Btw skipping works especially well with recent bleach fillers where they're just like "And Now for Something Completely Different!" total randomness ensues.
-
RE: 482: ''The Power that Burns Even Fire - Akainu's Fierce Assault''
You guys want shitty fillers like in Naruto and Bleach which may last for months and interrupt the actual storyline?
Actually, yes. Pure filler arcs are looking better and better compared to these extended filler sequences that are interrupting canon episodes. Because then you can really just skip the episode(s) without missing a thing.
-
RE: 482: ''The Power that Burns Even Fire - Akainu's Fierce Assault''
EDIT: I wish people would stop using that Naruto episode as an example. That episode (and I think one more) are the only episodes that look horrible. Shippuden is usually really good at keeping the animation consistent. And when there's an important moment, they usually do good.
THAT one episode and perhaps the Guy vs. Clone Guy episode are the only ones that really look bad.
So does Naruto have a higher budget or do the people working on OnePiece just suck? OP is of a higher resolution, maybe that got too expensive

RE: Vegapunk Fansubs information (updated)
I use DXVA to reduce CPU usage, which uses my GFX Card.
which would be the one option that doesnt rely only on the cpu. but from my knowledge it cant be used alongside the directshow version of directvobsub but only with yet another internal filter version or emulation which can lead to falsely rendered subs.
-
RE: Vegapunk Fansubs information (updated)
once I upgrade my video card to one that can decode h.264
errr…don't you decode stuff with codecs that you can download for free? And don't most codecs use only the cpu and no card?

RE: ONE PIECE: MOVIE 10 ~ Strong World
We have released external .ass and .srt subs as well.

RE: One Piece Episode 480 by Yibis Fansubs
Thanks for the release yibis :)
These resemble interlaced fail pics. Maybe this happens when the raw is recorded with a TV that plays 60 frames per second progressive and the video is then encoded with 29,97 fps or so for the internet. It looks like a TV creating “half pictures” in an attempt to make thing look more smooth than they really are. As long as the TV works with 60 fps and the raw with 30 fps these in between pictures should all vanish again in the process of encoding since every second picture (the weird ones) is cut out but if the raw is not exactly 30 fps they might show up from time to time.
The fact that you notice them in highly fluid scenes doesn't mean they only exist there. They are simply easier to spot when the difference between two frames is big.
No, a proper raw is just a rip of the digital broadcast. There's no decoding or converting going on and it doesn't have anything to do with the playback setup. These frames are really what the TV-Station is sending out. Also what you said seems generally a bit misguided.

RE: One Piece Episode 480 by Yibis Fansubs
He didn't say the other shows weren't cheap as well. Although I have seen crap in the One Piece animes I haven't seen anywhere else so far. Movie 9 was the worst.
-
RE: One Piece Episode 480 by Yibis Fansubs
No idea. One Piece is a crappy production.
-
RE: One Piece Episode 480 by Yibis Fansubs
Why do you think this happens when there is a scene for Shida or some other specific animators in other shows that I've noticed?
I don't know because I don't know what you mean.
-
RE: One Piece Episode 480 by Yibis Fansubs
Every ep have different credits. You used to re-use the opening for some ep on other episodes. So, wrong credits.
If by "used to" you mean a few times during Amazon Lily o_O
And I've discussed delayed images with you before. Which is the ghosting effect that occurs when there is a scene with lots of frames. Usually occurs around Naotoshi Shida scenes.
Did I say back then that you're having a totally wrong idea of what's going on? Videos have set frame-rates like in this case 24 and 30 frames per second. One scene doesnt suddenly have more or less frames than that.
-
RE: One Piece Episode 480 by Yibis Fansubs
does anyone know what this guy is talking about? …original credits lately...delayed images for the final scene...

RE: Fairy Taint Discussion II
Look at Lucy. In this chapter she nearly gets cut apart because she's apparently the only one slow enough to miss it. Now this has happened before, but then I remember where we were one arc ago. Lucy ran on a giant octopus tentacle and fought with a whip–both take good reflexes. Where did that go now? Sure there's the element of surprise but still. It's like Lucy lost all her sudden, albeit unexplained combat skills. There's also Wendy's role in this arc. She jobbed out to the first guy! It's like Mashima felt compelled to add a lolicon into the series in that one arc then as time goes on he realizes this character adds little or nothing to the series. Like one author wanted this character there in the Oracion Seis arc, but forgot to explain why she's important for the rest of the series to the next guy.
Sounds like something that could happen inside the head of a guy that draws too much manga.
