Thanks for sharing that link, I was wondering what happened to this series. It's also refreshing to have free official content that is actually available in my region.

It's a new rule to use spoiler tags until the official release, which is 1 or 2 days after the scanlations are up.

RE: The Promised Neverland
! Musica and the other demon didn't eat people, right? I think Norman is lying and Emma noticed. However, something about the 6 months might be true, just not what Norman said.

RE: Chapter 929: Shogun of Wano, Kurozumi Orochi
With this new change in policy, and the fact that the VIZ chapters can now be read online for free without a subscription (at least in some regions; I'm not sure whether or not it's available everywhere), I want to hear what you guys think: for those who've been reading my chapter comparisons for the past few years, do you think those are still necessary/do you still want them? I'm happy to keep doing them if y'allz think they'll still be helpful and will enjoy reading them, but if you think that being able to now read the VIZ versions directly yourselves renders the comparisons moot, then it may be redundant for me to bother with it, haha.
It's not available everywhere, I'd appretiate if you keep doing the comparisons.

RE: Dr. Stone
I recently started rereading Dr. Stone from the beginning and got a laugh out of this:

RE: Solo Leveling
I like this genre though also agree that down the line many drop in quality. About this particular manhwa, I don't like how the character is always pondering stuff for 2 chapters before it happens when every reader sees it coming from a mile. Except for the gamer aspect, dungeon raiding stuff should be common knowledge in-universe as well. A bit more genre savviness would be welcome.
Also, tone down the rank speak: "He's an E-rank hunter in a D-rank guild fighting in a C-rank dungeon against a C-rank boss with only a D-rank weapon, even a B-rank would have trouble…"

RE: Noah's Notes
Jaiminisbox has up to chapter 6. Personally I don't like the prof's over the top aggresive nature and the constant upskirt shots (even if they aren't panyt shots).

RE: Chapter 904: The Entrance of The Revolutionary Army Commanders
My hero academia and Black clover both had unfinished panels.

RE: Chapter 904: The Entrance of The Revolutionary Army Commanders
I don't get the negative reaction to the commanders, especially people saying they don't look special. If anything, Dragon, Sabo and Koala look super bland.
Also, nobody one-shotted pinkbeard, this was a really short chapter so we got 2 panels of citizens hitting pirates. Plus, wether they used sticks or not is irrelevant, since as far as we know Betty's fruit unlocks people potential, and also every living being can potentially unlock haki, right? I imagine that the fruit has no effect on strong people or possibly people stronger than the user.

RE: My Hero Academia - Gomu Gomu no Gentle Fist
Aoyama and Present Mic also had their quirks at birth, so it's established that some people are born with it and it's not that rare.

RE: Dr. Stone
At least the initial generation comes from different places so they were genetically diverse to begin with (and given they were astrounauts, it's likely they had "good" genes). Anyway, humanity has gone through extreme bottlenecks multiple times. Theres also the fact that all current people have at least one human male common ancestor and one human female common ancestor (though they probably lived thousands of years appart).

RE: The Promised Neverland
Maybe that's why some mangas' humour relies so much on people talking about 2 different subjects for a whole chapter until the misunderstanding is clear? My reaction is always "why don't you clarify/name the subject and be done with it" but it makes sense if the language doesn't prioritize it.

RE: Black Clover
Ah, so that was it. I thought that in the first chapters there was always a duplicate character (meaning that one of them was Gray), so the big guy was someone else. It turns that started after Gray's intro.
-
RE: Black Clover
Who's the big guy? He's appeared a few times, I think, but always obscured. Or maybe he's been introduced and I forgot.
By the way, the concept of having a haunted base and some character with full control over it is something I quite like (a bit similar to how Merry was considered a member). Too bad that the base itself was never given any focus.

RE: Golem Hearts
Better a timeskip early on than having him learn stuff ridiculously fast to keep a decent pace while stomping on the message about hardwork (coughNarutocough). The thing with the coins already felt forced, I think it's better this way.

RE: My Hero Academia - Gomu Gomu no Gentle Fist
Ok, Eri rewinded his dad and the rat to fetuses, is that what happened?
-
RE: Black Clover
I wish the author were a bit more subtle. There was no need to make the nobles cold bloded assasins/war criminals. The guy was in a war anyway, he could have been used as fodder or left to die after a battle, no need to go out of your way to do the deed.

RE: Dr. Stone
Senkuu knew that their depetrified state could let them live normally with cracks on their faces. Maybe they are now like golems or something, if they can be put to stay together, they live. Taiju with his "dumb and caring nature" tries to put Senkuu back to normal and it actually works.
-
RE: Dr. Stone
What is the fourth use of calcium carbonate? I think it might have been about burying the dead. You can get calcium oxide by heating calcium carbonate enough, and calcium oxide was used for burying corpses. Also, Senkuu totally disregarded the idea of scavenging old locations for materials or resources.

RE: Robot×Laserbeam
The official English name is Robot×Lazerbeam. With a z. (Also, someone please explain me the × thing in manga names, do people think it's a cool symbol or what?)
-
RE: Chapter 859: The Yonkou Assassination Plan
I'm leaning to the Dorian Gray/horrocrux hypothesis because it fits thematically and explains how Big Mom is apparently invulnerable to damage. It also makes sense that the portrait is present in special occasions: it's pointless to have a party if you don't go.
-
RE: Onepunch-Man (redrawn version)
It was literally a magical "chemical x" with no visible effort in one of those cases. The evil brothers (aparently known as brain and brawn brothers), remember? The younger brother drank the steroid and became a giant able to destroy cities with no effort, even by just falling.
-
RE: Dr. Stone
The evolution of animals depends on how much fantasy the author wants. If he wants to keep it realist, at most there would be something like very big wolves, bears or some other predator that became the top of the food chain. A less realistic scenario could be a planet of the apes situation, monkeys overtook civilization and kept it afloat. An then there's full fantasy, dinosaurs, monsters, aliens or whatever.
-
RE: Dr. Stone
Eh, not really? All big structures in there are still intact. Buildings, streets, that ferris weel photographers love to shoot. Not that Chernobyl is the best example, since it's so recent and a lot of life just can't live there at all. I was thinking more along the lines of the pictures of Angkor in the link, where nature overtook but there's clearly structures underneath. But then again, there was a mysterious light that turned only people to stone, so I'm siding with that for now. Otherwise I feel like scavenging the location of an old wardware store for plastic and metal tools makes more sense than going back to wood and stone.
-
RE: Dr. Stone
I don't think 3700 years is enough to turn a city into something resembling a virgin jungle. There should have been a lot more worn out structures, and the plan should be more about scavenging than creating civilization out of wood and stones. Unless man made stuff was destroyed by something other than natural processes.

RE: We Never Learn!
Well, that's what I was wondering. Maybe there's a huge population of single child teenagers who think having a sister is like having a girl friend/classmate living in the house, so of course it would lead to sexy times. But they don't realize that if they actually had a sister they wouldn't be attracted to her.
-
RE: We Never Learn!
I wonder if the people who have that fetish have siblings. Anybody who grew close with same age relatives know they aren't sexy at all.

RE: Bart Simpson Thread XI: The Movie - The Manga Adaption - The Animation
Sakura had the best control over chakra in the group.
Sakura was extremely smart and knowledgeable.
Sakura was good at all the types of jutsu, with an orientation towards genjutsu.
Sakura learned healing techniques from the best.
Sakura became very physically strong and self-confident.
Sakura was the first to kill an Akatsuki member, with Chiyo's helps.Kishimoto kept saying good stuff about her because for the most part, he didn't know how to make her useful in the story. Her highest point was against Sasori, and that fell flat after the Akatsuki started dying one after another at the hands of the new generation.
In the end, Sakura became a single mother with anger issues, bad health and money problems (played for laughs). And the father of her daughter is a psycho.

RE: Bart Simpson Thread XI: The Movie - The Manga Adaption - The Animation
I don't think Naruto ever got good at doing anything without the Ninetails. His shadow clone jutsu was posible because of the huge chakra pool. When Orochimaru blocked the Nintetails chakra, Naruto couldn't even use basic techniques like walking on water. And then he and Jiraiya gave up on jutsus because Naruto couldn't do hand seals, so they went the rasengan route. He learned how to summon the toads and used them sparingly. After that what, his power ups consisted on going N-tail mode (with N less than 6 for the most part, if I remember). Maybe the wind rasengan, but again he mastered it through his huge chakra pool to train tens of times faster. Sage mode might be the only case of a technique where he didn't abuse the Ninetails or his chakra directly, but it got outclassed by tailed Naruto in its debut. Then Naruto and Ninetails trained to become friends and all that previous stuff didn't matter too much.
So stuff that Naruto could have done without Ninetails:
Summon big toads.
Rasengan, probably. Just the incomplete version, unless we saw him as an adult after years of training like it was supposed to be for the rasenshuriken.
Sage mode, provided he could mantain a single shadow clone (or he learned how to stay put like a normal human being).
Exploding tag to the ass. -
RE: Black Torch
The main character looks almost exactly like Ichigo, and the beginning with the fight under the bridge looks like that scene where Ichogo and Chade became friends. And the whole ninja with
! a cat demon/spirit sealed inside him… I don't think it's a coincidence. But since those other manga ended so badly and were so popular, I'm ok with someone trying their hand at those concepts. Unless it becomes obvious that the author just jumped on the bandwagon.

RE: Onepunch-Man (ONE's original webcomic)
Maybe Atomic thinks King cut through the apple so fast that he couldn't see it (or he imagined seeing it) in a way that the apple stayed intact, like the ability to cut nothing/only what you want in One Piece.
-
RE: Onepunch-Man (ONE's original webcomic)
I'm guessing he'll miss the apple and Samurai will mistake it as King being strong but compassionate.

RE: My Hero Academia - Gomu Gomu no Gentle Fist
I was under the impresion that Hagakure refracted Aoyama's ligt, but there's nothing showing that.
If the refraction is part of her quirk and not her hero uniform, then she usually absorbs no light and has 0 refraction. Being able to control refraction means that she could become visible as if made of glass (still transparent). If she can also control light absorbtion and reflection she could become visible and opaque, and change colors at will.
Alternatively, if light bends and goes around her skin, then she has negative refraction. Setting her refraction to 0 would allow you to see through her skin into her muscles and superficial body fat. This would be debunked if we ever saw her eating, with food being visible passing her throat.

RE: My Hero Academia - Gomu Gomu no Gentle Fist
@Count:
but I have faith that Horikoshi will cook up unique ways for their applications and cooperation.
The spin-off is not written or drawn by Horikoshi, just pointing it out.
Pop Step was pointless in the teaser and feels like a non-character in the first chapter. Even during whatever was happening in the first 2 pages, she has a jumping quirk, gentle-man is falling and all she can do is remark how he's falling 30 meters to the street?
