Blueno… kinda frustrating, especially since mu Mum shares her with Zoro and my lil' bro with Sanji (and they don't even care since they don't read One Piece)

RE: What do you think of the way women are portrayed in OP?
Hankock is pretty fucking strong if you ask me. Her kicks can turn you to stone, she took out what like 3 pacifistas?, and she also fought off Smoker effortlessly. I feel the entire argument over whether Oda is abusive to his female characters is absolutely silly. It is a childrens manga… More specifically a young boys manga. Young kids could really care less about how females are portrayed within manga, it makes no difference to them.
And anyways. Robins dream isn't to be some ultra leet haxorz pirate… She simply wants to learn history. There is very little reason for her to develop considerable fighting skills. It seems like people are bitching just to find something to bitch about. It's a non-issue.It's important for exactly the reason it's technically for young readers. It creates (or is one of the factors that creates) certain image of femininity, they are going to act upon in their lives. Since half of society are females this is important issue to discuss.
You can expect that from an audience when the target audience is young/ teenage males. Most will want to see female characters with massive "bewbs" and dressed like Hancock/ Nami. Then there are the sensible parts of the audience who just want to read the story for the story.
well, majority of reader are outside target group.
Yeah, it's annoying to me, but it's understandable regardless. OP is a fairly popular series, so it's going to have a lot of different fans with different preferences. At one point I thought I was the only girl reading this series, but I'm surprised how many female readers there actually are, I suppose that's the beauty of a good story, that and hot guys sweating, bleeding and having no shirt on. Who knows.
when I started reading OP I only knew female fans, finding some male fans taken me some time (and introducing my lil' bro to the series failed miserably (if I didn't knew him as well as I do I would start doubting his intelligence))
@Superbear:
Also people seem to forget that see can turn non-feeling beings (pasifistas, Smoker's Jutte) into stone and is a user of Color of the Conquer and from the looks of it possibly CoA and is an archer.
Isn't she the only Shichibukai, who is confirmed to use Haoshoku haki? It may be partly due to this ability she is able to entrance so many.
It's pretty much obvious by now, that there are no devil fruit, that are weak or strong, but users may be lacking imagination or control to utilize them (although some fruits require much more imagination and additional abilities such as haki to be effective). Take Kuma for instance, he has seemingly useless ability to push stuff, and he is frighting with them.
She certainly isn't joke character, she may act clueless, but that doesn't mean is clueless. Also certain traits of her character, that seem to be primary played for laughs may have deeper meaning, taken her psychological makeup and history into account.
She is commented first for being beautiful, but thats not because she don't have fear inspiring reputation, but rather scary reputation and strength is a given for all the shichibukai, the beauty is something that characterizes only her.
I think it's mostly the fandome who believe, that female has to be necessary the weakest members of the outfit and reads any situations that way, not the author.

RE: What do you think of the way women are portrayed in OP?
No it isn't. It's just bullshit under any circumstances. There are times when people err too much on the side of what you'd call "politically correct" but when it goes in the regular direction as it does more often the same people are rarely upset.
Just drop that if you're going to even discuss this. There are some terms which are weighted and offensive when discussing certain issues.
How come are you able to form arbitrary opinion like that without even knowing me and my cultural and social context? Experience and language association are hardly universal, even between inhabitants of the same country and native speakers of same language.
Besides you seem not to understand how deep misogyny really gets. I only commented in the first place, because it seemed to me some statements I've read, despite being politically correct on the surface, in deeper structure were actually mythological. Of course authors of this comments weren't conscious of this, they all have. Analyzing every single comment I found musicological would take too much time, especially as English is not my native Language, and I seem lacking more advanced philosophical and social vocabulary, my reasoning would get messy and I wouldn't be understood by others. So I tried to write something that would get people thinking instead. But as I say T have little to no skills to manipulate people.
To be clear I'm also at fault of subconscious (not sure if it's a right word in this contexts) misogyny, I'm by no means above that, neither is Oda. Please don't take is as accusation, but rather as a factual statement.
Oh, yeah, and the worst misogynist can be females, unfortunately (it's probably the source of sentence that female can either be feminist or masochist).I'm also very much against offensive remarks, problem is sometimes different people find different things offensive (I remember reading text about racial terminology touching that subject, but it won't be helpful to refer to it as it was in Polish - it was about a word some people are using as factual description, but other people find it offensive, despite the word itself was never pejorative, but was having negative connotations in idiomatic structure - the author recommended giving up usage of this word in order not to hurt peoples feelings, it was met with objected, claiming she is to much PC. I quite agree with the author, but sometimes you just don't know which terminology would be seen as offensive before you start communicate with others).
I have to say it pains me greatly that are not trying to understand what I try to get to and deprecating everything I write, marking me as person who immaturely tries to stick a rod into ant-hill (well I kinda am, but I'm not trying to piss off people, but to get the wondering), then calling my convictions bullshit (as I don't posses absolute knowledge about everything so I may be mistaken greatly, but as far as my experience go, I can tell that the problem indeed exist, at least in the part of world I'm living in (and for haven sake, convictions about PC are not even that important). Well not exactly everything, you haven't gotten past the bit about political correctness.
-
RE: What do you think of the way women are portrayed in OP?
I think that you two have a different definition of "politically correct".
Crystal is probably referring to the genuine reactions sparked by offensive comments,
whereas Falcon is probably referring to systemic PCism that you see in the news
(which has the annoying habit of eschewing certain groups).Than you for your help, I think it's about right.
-
RE: What do you think of the way women are portrayed in OP?
"Political Correctness" as censorship doesn't even really exist. It's at worse, a form of institutionalised niceness.
Look, if you talk like that, you're just going to piss people off and that's not going to lead to a mature argument.
It would be cool and oh so simple if it was really as you are saying. Unfortunately my experience contradicts that. It may be because my cultural and social experience as well as associations with term "political correctness" may be different.
And yeah, I'm bad with manipulating people. I want to get their initial emotions so they would start wondering over subconscious set of views of the world implanted to them by society, that stays behind their whole reasoning - and that's just not gonna happen any way, they would just start bitching about me being controversial.
Oh, and I'm all for niceness (even if I'm sometimes sarcastic, I really try to form my statements the way won't offend anyone (I don't always succeed, partly due to my clumsy English)) unfortunately people who are arguing over something are not usually very nice to each other, you can see the examples in this thread and few others. But at the same time I don't thing niceness should be institutionalized or enforced.
-
RE: What do you think of the way women are portrayed in OP?
Look, if you want to have a serious argument about this, drop loaded terminology like this. "Political Correctness" brought up in this context is endlessly demeaning as it implies that women and minorities are somehow being obnoxious for demanding any attention be paid to representing them properly.
I certainly like discussing things seriously. I don't like political correctness, because it really goes no where near serious discussion, I see it as a kind of censorship, or at least as stiff corset that puts people in certain frames of thinking. I certainly don't want to be demeaning toward women, I am one. Women and minorities can't be obnoxious for demanding attention they need, because they are right, ours and their problem need attention. They however can be very obnoxious in a way they demanding this, often completely missing the point and don't understanding nature of the problem. And political correctness is what obscures deeper context of the problem.
But than don't mind me, I hardly have enough energy to constructively analyze post above… and I lack language ability to properly convey may thought on social philosophy. I just don't know terminology, that could guaranty I'll be understood by others in English.
-
RE: What do you think of the way women are portrayed in OP?
Oh my, so much of political correctness lately.
I can't hardly see why Nami can't be taken serious regardless of what she wears, she strong willed, she can handle herself nicely, she has her dream, she is intelligent and essential to the crew. I don't see why being sexy objectifies women on the spot, as if people think that it's either sexy or smart, I think its mysogynic. If people hadn't pointed it out I wouldn't realized her clothes are fan service - I'm not interested in that.
I agree on variety bit, though.I don't see how people claim that Sandersonia and Marigold are ugly. Marigold is just fat, fat=/=ugly, Sandersonia is beautiful, she just have big head.
There were really not that much females with Nami-like figure, who deserved a beating. Despite this, both Luffy and Zoro hit girls with Nami-like figures.
Usopp didn't beat Perona physically, because the psychological strategy had been working just fine. He actually often tries to beat his opponents on mental ground, it is just is rarely effective - he is not as prone to physical violence as Monster Trio.
Sanji won't hit any female, regardless how ugly he is, but that's just him.Peeping on someone in the bath is rude, but the characters in One Piece aren't exactly souls of decency. They've done worse things than that. They just aren't there to show as how model human being should behave themselves.

RE: Laugh Out Loud!
This article speaks the truth.
they've omitted some important things like this guy
! who was kicking everybody easels asses (he ain't called Bolesław the Brave or Valiant for nothing and just look at his moustache)
Last of the Jagiellons also had beard
! and his the guy responsible for Union in Lublin - overruling wishes of powerful high nobility.
On the other hand this guy, who is "badass enough to be national hero in 4 countries"
! didn't. Or maybe they were just blown into big explosion as well (this calls for reconstruction
! - ok. done ).Oh, and the twin brother of the president, the one who died in the accident, had been prime minister around the same time - unfortunately he hadn't moustache either (well if he had we would be able to tell them apart)

RE: Good One Piece Fics
If you like another universe stories
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7904635/13/If_Vision_is_the_Only_Validation
- it has a plot (lets face it, not any fanfiction has it), moreover it is interesting plot
- the author thought well who the characters could be if they were living in modern AU (not some random idea, that bends characters to the story and makes them OOC like most people do)
- therefore the featured characters act in way very similar, to their original counterparts - of course there are some differences, but the psychological makeup and basic behavior is largely the same
- there is no speck of what we call "romance"
- the original characters author invented for the purpose of spinning plot (of for the reasons main characters not being only people in the world) are well balanced and the author don't focus on writing them instead of One Piece characters
- the author touches few interesting issues,
- it's generally well written… don't mind more... so called... mature language

Wow now I feel really bad for not getting that. I was sitting here going "lever lev-her leave her?"
Anyway thank you for explaining it.
heh, you're not alone, I haven't gotten it at first too (I'm dyslexic, I've read the sentence "Better late than never" at first - and wondered where is the joke in it - only when people started commenting about the pun, I've checked it again and got it right).
I've found funny article recently. It's about history… well kinda... and it's shorter that the joke.

So about this forum, there's really lot of people here from around the world, we usually disagree on different things, which is cool, 'cos it would be incredibly boring if we all agree. RE: Dumb Predictions
the combination of the straw hat, buggy's nose and and raleigh's sword creates the key to find raftel.
@Vash:
That's actually an amazing scene to imagine! You pierce the hat, drag it down to the hilt, and the nose is placed on the sword's tip. Magical!
together it creates staff that enables anyone who is holding it change into Magical Girl, that would easily beat down Pretty Cure. Thus Oda will fulfill his objective.

RE: Untitled
Here you go: SBS vol 54
D: Hey, Oda. In volume 53, chapter 518, Hancock's "Mero Mero Mellow" had no effect on Luffy at all, but in volume 23, chapter 213, it looked like he had a reaction to Nami's "Happiness Punch". Why did he respond to Nami's naked body but no to Hancock's? Is Nami's body just that amazing? -Kazu
O: Wow, I got a lot of questions about this. Is this what you guys are paying attention to? Don't just read manga all day, go study some more!! Okay? Well, I say that, but I do nothing but draw manga. I noticed this when we were drawing it, but if Luffy had a nosebleed when he saw Hancock's body, I think you would all be like "Ehh!?". That's not the Luffy we know. I believe that Luffy reacted to Nami's naked body twice, in volumes 18 and 23, and both times it happened, Usopp was with him! He's the suspicious one! In other words, when Luffy is alone, his reaction is what it was with Hancock. He's interested, but he's not entranced by her. But when he's with Usopp, who's the same age, it's like a kid on a school trip: his bad side comes out!! Yeah, both sides of Luffy feel right to me, so the culprit is definitely Usopp!!
it seems that you need to look fixedly at Hancock to be change into stone. He wasn't, he thought it was different beam, so he tried to cover himself from it.
when you have few young males they are more prone to act pervy (and generally "worse"), than when they are on their own, but that doesn't mean than on their own they are asexual, they just act in more mature way. You cant minify something that just isn't there, Besides Oda pretty stated, than, both sides of Luffy count, so the reaction he has when he is with Usopp is just as truthful as the one he gets when he is alone.
And yes, I understood, which definition of asexuality Katzztar has been referring too, I only think that Luffy don't match the definition, because at least on some occasions he displays signs of being sexually interested in women. For some reasons sexuality, just doesn't play as big part in his life, as it plays in lives of majority teenagers.
In my opinion if any of the straw has be asexual it most likely would be Zoro. But with him it may be just it's really hard to tell.

RE: What are you reading? (Literature)
just finished "Liar (in original: Kłamca) 4, Kill 'em all" by Jakub Ćwiek - good stuff, angelic fantasy, violence, sex, gore, Apocalypse, elves, pop-cultural references, teddy bear - motive with teddy bear was kinda sad actually (my own teddy bear, coincidentally named Loki, surely feels sad about it too), especially since the teddy is with us from the vol. 1.
!
-
RE: Untitled
!
I think characterizing Luffy as totally asexual is a bit overstatement. When asked why Luffy didn't react to Hancock, Oda stated that Luffy was in fact interested only didn't show it. Usopp's influence was on Luffy's way he is behaving, not on hoe he perceives things. But Luffy is more interested in adventures than in relationships and he kinda has one track mind so no relationships anywhere in near future for him… fan works excluded.

RE: Chivalry?
I see chivalry as demeaning to women, since it implies helplessness for women. I'm never chivalrous, however, I am polite more often than not.
Many posts think of holding a door open for ladies as an example of chivalry, but that's not really chivalry. That's just politeness. Some over-dramatic feminists would think that demeaning, unless you hold the door open for everyone nearby.
I define chivalry as protection of those who can't defend themselves, but traditionally, chivalrous knights would focus protection on women, children and elderly. Feminists believe the attitude of "women are fragile and delicate" is offensive, because they believe genders should be equal in power. Chivalry has prevented women from entering battle, and from seeking honor and glory. Basically, it forces a stereotype about women, even when they don't want it.
The image women being akin to "beautiful flowers" also stymies some homosexual lifestyles, forcing men to avoid looking flamboyant and colorful.
I think how Oda treats Sanji influences my viewpoint, but I think it also reflects the viewpoint of liberal activists for feminism and homosexuality.
If somebody had tried to hurt me and some guy would rush to my help because of chivalry I'd be very grateful to that guy, I wouldn't feel offended, gender equality is cool and all, but in the end I'm physically weaker than most guys.
-
RE: What is the avatar above you thinking?
togas and laurels are so in style this month.
-
RE: Chivalry?
it might be because I see chivalry a bit different, than most of people here. I think chivalry is the way idealized knight would act towards others, and not just ladies, but people from outside peer group. For me it means go out of ones way to help and do small nice things to others. It has certain codified behavior, how one should act towards people. Chivalry is needed because different groups have different standards of proper, acceptable behavior.
For example my young man from my group on university are very brash to one another and not one of them is offended by their rudeness (well you know men calling themselves "shitty bastard" or "idiots" for no reason, while not even arguing and still being the best friends - it's acceptable in their group), but most girls would feel hurt if they were treated like that, thats why chivalrous man speak to the girls in way much more polite. But the same applies to the older people, who would be offended by rude words, as in "their time" people were using more formal vocabulary, so young men need to speak properly to them too.
I'm not much into anything strictly codified, but it sometimes helps people get along…

RE: Things That You Would NOT Like to See in the Manga
Uh…
Okay, so Crocodile rigs up a bomb that is meant to kill everyone in Alubarna, right?
Pell willingly sacrifices himself by carrying the bomb high up into the sky and exploding along with it.
He is literally holding the bomb that was meant to kill everyone in an entire CITY, and he survives. If we accept that Pell survives, we also accept that he didn't need to carry the bomb,
because it wouldn't have killed anyone on the ground. And that Crocodile is an idiot.I think his death was never shown on panel, again I may be mistaken. Falcons fly really fast so he somehow might managed to escape or the experience might have awaken busoshoku haki in him or some o Croc's underlings may just screwed up preparing the bomb, and it wasn't as deadly as Croc had planed, but does not necessary mean he is an idiot. Or active substance in the bomb may acted different in lower air pressure on hight altitude and thus doesn't make as strong explosion as it would normally do or some unknown third party might have been involved. Or the bomb was just to start chain reaction - lest say: there were some substance thats is usually mot explosive, unless exposed to big explosion. on the ground Or there might eve acted million to one chance guaranteed in nine out of ten cases rule. Or he simply is that tough to survive the explosion no one else would. Or some other nonsensullum explanation, but the one that would work in One Piece word, without defying it's laws.
If you think about it possible explanation for his survival are endless.
Being satisfied with explanation is other thing entirely.
It's pretty sure we can't count being killed in explosion as being killed off for real when it comes to One Piece Characters.

RE: Good One Piece Fics
A fanfic thread and no one's mentioned Velkyn Karma?
I'm disappointed in you guys.
Seriously, everything she writes is gold.
As for other fanfics, this takes what would happen if a mary sue fell in the OP world and plays it ridiculously straight.
And this one has what would happen if one of the Strawhats died.I'll post a few more later when I get home.
Damn, and now I'm reading this (about the girl) instead of writhing my work
-
RE: Good One Piece Fics
Don't forget the variations of Monkey D Lucy, Luffy's sister that either Zoro or Sanji falls for. Or both of them falling for the sudden "Oh I'm Luffy's sister!" Mary-Su
One Piece characters sure do have a lot of long lost sisters or female childhood friends, not to mention every week new girl from our world lands on Grand Line. Strange that they never meet one another, especially as they tend to appear around very few selected ships.

Hopefully young John Giant won't encounter beautiful, mysterious stranger from our universe, or at least if he do, she would be wearing moustaches.

RE: Things That You Would NOT Like to See in the Manga
Any of the major characters being killed off for real.
Characters who were killed off for real (on the screen) being magically back - I believe in you, Oda.
Romantic relationship between major characters (but I don't mind if they are shown at the end having family, I just don't want romantic bonding between them on screen) - fortunately we can be pretty sure that won't happen. -

Yup I agree too. I wonder why I actually read some of this stuff. Maybe I'm just sympathetic towards other authors, as my own works are not much better (well I created them to be better, but they probably aren't).
But good stories (or at least I liked them when I was reading them) come mind: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7556918/1/
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7558103/1/ - it's bit mixed with whatever author thought cool at the time of writing

RE: Untitled
TsuruFlamingo fanfic:
Warning: There's some swearing if I can remember right.
! Soon as I seen her, shit, told her I'd pay for itLil' mama the baddest thing 'round and she already know it
! Donquixote Doflamingo has made a habit of trailing after Vice Admiral Tsuru like a dog on a leash whenever he visits Marine HQ.
It’s no secret that the Shichibukai is trying to catch the old strategist’s eye, although he goes about it less like an infamous criminal with 340 million bounty and more like a little boy with a schoolyard crush – taunting and teasing in hopes of getting her attention, even if it’s only for a brief moment. Tsuru, to her credit, never gives him the satisfaction of a reaction, either responding to his antics with distant civility or ignoring him altogether. The general consensus is that Doflamingo’s strange courtship is crashing and burning on a spectacularly consistent basis, but the pirate doesn’t seem to be bothered by it. He just keeps following Tsuru around whenever he gets the chance, doing whatever it takes to get the object of his inexplicable affections to look his way.
“Tsuruuuu,” he croons, sauntering after her on long legs during his latest visit to Marineford. “Did I ever tell you that you’ve got a great tush? Seriously, it should be a crime for a woman of your age to look as good as you do from behind.”
The vice admiral acknowledges the compliment with a noncommittal “Mmm,” not bothering to look up from the pile of reports she carries cradled in her arms.
“I love that you wear ties, you know. It makes you look so authoritative. It’s so hot,” Doflamingo continues, unfazed by the fact that she’s not paying him any attention. “But you know what I’d love best?” he asks, looming over her shoulder. “To see you with one of your sexy little ties keeping your wrists together, because, you know, that would even more hot…”
The odd pair moves steadily down one of Marine HQ’s tiled hallways – him still stooped over her small shoulder and murmuring stupid, crude suggestions in her ear, her placidly ignoring him and going about her business. They pass a gaggle of ensigns that press against the corridor walls as the Shichibukai walks by, whispering furiously amongst themselves and not quite brave enough to look straight at him.
“—believe the nerve of that guy.”
“Why does she allow—”
“—been following her around like this for months—”
“Isn’t she twice his age?”
Doflamingo’s head whips around at that particular comment, and he slows his peculiar, ambling gait to fix the group with an unnerving stare.
“You better take a headcount to make sure none of these little bastards disappear during the night, Vice Admiral,” he says, his mouth spreading into a toothy grin. He says it partially to scare the shit out of the already panicked junior marines, but mostly to get a rise out of Tsuru. He turns to catch the vice admiral’s reaction, eager for a reprimand or a brush off or anything else that will let him know that she’s paying attention to his bad behavior, but Tsuru is already twenty feet further down the hallway in quiet conversation with Vice Admiral Momonga.
“Tsuruuuu,” the warlord whines, forgetting about the ensigns entirely in his rush to catch up with her again.
“—hate to trouble you with this when you’re already busy, Tsuru-san, but your advice would be invaluable,” Momonga is saying when Doflamingo comes loping up behind the pair. The pirate notices that the mustachioed man is gallantly carrying the tall pile of files that had been in Tsuru’s arms a few moments ago and pouts. He had offered to carry them for her five minutes ago, but she had just ignored him.
“Of course. I understand,” Tsuru murmurs, as if the enormous, petulant Shichibukai behind her does not exist. “Come with me to my office, and I’ll see what I can make of it.”
Momonga nods and turns his head just enough to favor Tsuru’s companion with a suspicious glance. “Doflamingo,” he says gruffly.
Doflamingo returns the look with an unhinged grin. “Vice Admiral.”
Momonga’s expression of distrust becomes one of marked distaste, and he opens his mouth to say something else - probably along the lines of “What the hell are you doing here?” – but Tsuru has already neatly sidestepped them both and is continuing down to the hall to her office. The vice admiral subsides with a grunt and follows, Doflamingo trailing behind.
“Now then,” Tsuru says, easing into the chair behind her desk as the two men duck into her office. “Let’s see what you have for me.”
Momonga steps forward and sets Tsuru’s files on the corner of her desk, plucking one from the top of the pile and handing it to her. Doflamingo, meanwhile, has settled himself on the back of a chair with his feet resting on the seat cushion.
“We’ve already begun repairs on the Bridge of Hesitation at Enies Lobby, of course, but the Government is most concerned about the Gates of Justice. They want them stronger. More closely observed. Better manned,” Momonga says as the strategist skims through reports and diagrams.
“Well, they certainly have the funds to do that,” Tsuru replies, flipping a page. “But building them taller and stronger won’t make them impenetrable, Momonga, no matter what the World Government wants to believe.”
Doflamingo sniggers, as if Momonga had just been called out for saying something particularly stupid. It’s childish and completely unwarranted, because Momonga hasn’t said anything stupid, but the vice admiral can’t keep from shooting Doflamingo an irritated glance.
“That’s what I’ve told them,” Momonga replies, turning back to Tsuru. “But it seems they just want to keep throwing men at the problem.”
Tsuru flips another page. “And by ‘men’, you mean marines, not their own agents,” she says.
Momonga inclines his head. “Naturally.”
She sighs. “Unsurprising,” she says, leaving the report and looking up at Momonga. “What sort of advice are you looking for?”
“Advice on how to get the Government off my back.”
“Easy,” Doflamingo interrupts. “Just remind them that you’re an incompetent jackass. That buster call fiasco at Enies Lobby is fantastic proof.”
Momonga closes his eyes and counts to ten, but the Shichibukai is still there when he opens them. “Tsuru-san,” he says stiffly, “Perhaps it would be better to speak in private—”
“I may be able to influence the decision a bit,” the strategist says as if neither man had spoken. “But I can’t guarantee the result. The Government doesn’t like to get its hands dirty.”
“I’d like to get my hand’s dirty,” Doflamingo says. “And by my hands, I mean my dick. Wait. Actually, I mean my hands and my dick.”
“I would appreciate it, Tsuru-san,” Momonga grinds out between clenched teeth, shoulders stiff with the strain of not spinning around and punching Donquixote Doflamingo in the face.
“I’ll see what I can do,” the strategist replies, closes the folder, and hands it back to him. “Was there anything else?”
Doflamingo pipes up again before Momonga can open his mouth. “Hey, Tsuru,” he calls from his perch. “Once this knob’s gone, want to do it on your desk? On your back or from behind – your choice, babe.”
“Shut up, Doflamingo!” Momonga snarls and rounds on the pirate, his temper finally getting the better of him. The Shichibukai just grins and spreads his hands in anticipation of the fight he’s been spoiling for since Momonga carried Tsuru’s files for her.
“I will not permit brawling in my office,” Tsuru calmly interjects. She looks up from the document in front of her and fixes Doflamingo with a flat look over her reading glasses. “Settle down or leave.”
The effect her command and her sharp look have on him is instantaneous, making him giddily fold up on himself and sink into the seat of the chair on which he had previously perched. “I love when you boss me around,” he hisses rapturously, but Tsuru’s attention has already moved on to something else.
“Was there anything else you needed, Momonga?”” she asks again, rising from her seat.
The vice admiral shakes his head, his hands still balled into fists and a vein standing out on his forehead.
“Very well, then. If you’ll excuse me, I am quite busy today.”
Momonga nods curtly, turns on his heel, and marches out of the office, slamming the door behind him.
Doflamingo is off his chair and behind Tsuru with his hands on her hips in a flash. “On your back or from behind?” he hisses in her ear.
“Neither,” the strategist says coolly. “But be a good boy and have a chat with the Gorosei for me while you’re near Mariejois.”
The Shichibukai's expression crumples and he presses his face into her shoulder like a child that has just been denied its favorite toy. “Tsuruuuuuu…"
Tsuru reaches up to pat his head before turning back to the files on her desk.

RE: Oda talks about the final arc.
fact that I had to reread the chapters to comprehend what's going on during Marineford didn't spoil my fun at all. It was mess, but it was supposed to be - a damn battle field not assembly of duels - it gave the whole thing taste of realism. I consider the way Marineford was written/illustrated/divided to panels one of it's strong points and they didn't managed to convert it into anime that well (although it was still awesome)
I think Oda meant, that at the end he is going to show us something that make all we have seen earlier look pale. Don't think he wanted to compare it to Marinford (or any other ark) in any way than sheer awesomeness. He's not going to plot-wise double any previous arks and just make it flashier with more super-things-whatever. Or at least I have faith that he won't. I sure don't want to see second Marineford (which was arguably my favourite ark) nor second Enies Lobby.

RE: Bonney's Age-Changing Fruit!
This is the only moment in which Sanji with a lollipop is acceptable.
on the othe hand he started smoking as a kid to appear adult
That last picture is too cute, but they forgot Sabo (and Vivi and Carue)…
I believe this is old, Sabo wasn't introduce yet. No excuse for Vivi and Carue… or maybe Vivi and Carue ran home to take some cookies for everyone (baked by Teracotta-san)
