The movie looks painfully "by the book-standard remake". They show part of the 3rd act and it couldn´t be more lame… so the best think they can imagine for the end is a lot of ghots (and possible a giant form of the final ghost to fight). The whole problem i see with this new film is that no scene is going to be scary and it is a shame, because they did write some great scary moments in the original.

Okay the trailer made me smile, that is always a good sign in my book.

RE: My Hero Academia - Gomu Gomu no Gentle Fist
So no one is talking about the giant fish and his kid going shopping. What kind of quirk is that, if quirks manifest at young age it will be really fuck up to become a fish all of the sudden.

Is amazing how the close ups of the villains faces are so seinen in composition. Horikoshi is amazing as always, i really want those new villains unleashed.

Amazing chapter!! I love seeing the whole class show their skills!

RE: The Walking Dead (AMC series)
But really anyone was hoping for Eastman to make it. It wouldn´t have make any sense for the story of Morgan. Kudos for the actor and the screenwriter, a really good episode.

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead - Comic Con Trailer
So much win in this episode! Hail to the king baby!

RE: Platinum End - Not So New Obha and Obata manga
The pace of the chapter is so weird. The introduction of the angel felt so forced and out of the blue, that it seems the authors don´t really care about the protagonist per se and really just want to get the plot of the "13 angels looking for a god" going. Let´s hope for the secondaries to be awesome and for the main to get out of "emo" mode fast. or this can become really cheesy.

RE: Marvel TV Series Thread: The Inhuman Cosplayers
! Another episode in "It sucks to be Fitz". Almost going insane to save the woman he loves, meanwhile that woman is falling in love with another guy. They really want to stretch this Fitz/Simmons love arc. Good episode by the way. Love the eating of the octopus thing moment.

RE: Star Wars Universe - Resurrection F
Thanks you for a trailer that doesn´t spoil the whole movie in 2 minutes.

RE: Marvel TV Series Thread: The Inhuman Cosplayers
Im friend with one of the people making the international dub for Jessica Jones, and she told me the series is pretty dark, not for kids at all. The purple man is going to be fucked up.

RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
"As Reed meets Grimm in the entrance to the building, the latter is asked to go through a metal detector. Once through, the shot lingers on for a moment more than you expect it to, and Reed thanks the security guard by name. Now, that may not seem like a moment worthy of close scrutiny, but in that single line – and the jolly manner in which it’s intoned by Teller – you get a clear sense of his character, who he is, where he’s come from, and where he’s going. It's these tiny details which make a huge difference."
Uuuuhhh wtf?

RE: DC Movies Thread - Shazam saves the day
The big problem with the trailer for me (and is something that happened with MoS also) is that too much of the dialogue is "trailer dialogue". Zack S. loves him some "trailer scenes" but they hurt the movie because with too much of those, you don´t let the characters evolve and they just become this "expository dialogue creatures" without any depth too them. I hope i am wrong in this one, and lot of these takes (especially Lex Luthor) are just use for the trailer.

Awww look at that "Robin is dead" outfit right there. They are going full force with the Batman is dark in this one.

RE: Dragonball Discussion
If they go with the alternate universe route, i hope to not see an "evil goku" saga or something like that.

RE: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)
It took me a second to realize this but…
! Sansa maybe thinking, i have to go north to find my brother Jon in the wall. Fuck this family is so unlucky.

RE: My Hero Academia - Gomu Gomu no Gentle Fist
@Bond:
From Eraserhead's perspective, Invisible Girl should be seated at the right front-most seat, beside Tentacle.
.
Thanks! That make sense. -
RE: My Hero Academia - Gomu Gomu no Gentle Fist
In wich place does the invisible girl seat?? I can't find her.

RE: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)
guys the real torture is being forced to watch the adventures of Samwell Tarley every season
In an ocean of treachery and lies is nice to have a character just being an honest guy. He save his and Jon life this season with the whole vote for Jon speech. And he is a white walker slayer. Even with all his shortcomings he knows how to play the game well enough. And with his gift to Jon this episode he may have save him again. Go Samwell.
-
RE: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)
Can they please just write samwell Tarley out of the show already
"You`re running out of friends Tarley"
-
RE: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)
Because bad writing (and directing) has a much more long term negative effect than bad fight choreography.
I will play a little devil advocate just in the sake of an argument. But is really that surprising the last scene yesterday. In the sense of evolution for the character, this is the first time that Sansa got herself willingly in a dire situation. She decided at the end to go to Winterfell and get married to a Bolton.
Ramsay decided that Reek should be the one giving her away (the one person she hates the most for betraying her family), he clearly wants to humiliate her.So we have her before the wedding, clearly frightened but also secure enough to face Miranda in her little game. She clearly has grown as a character, she can read people a lot better know and understand the situation she is in.
She needs only needs the chance to strike, probably when the battle with Stannis takes place. In term of direction, a love the fact that when she accepted Ramsay it started snowing, that she had her real colour hair and that little by little the POV of the whole moment when from her to Theon so we could understand what this would probably mean for this two characters in the future.
If next episode, is just her crying in a corner doing nothing, yeah call it bad writing. But for now, it was a setup and execution that was being fabricated since the season started. -
RE: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)
It an entire story arc not in the books made up in order to fill time while stalling for the next book to come out, while also cutting multiple actual book plotlines for several characters. It is 93% filler…. and would be 100% if Theon wasn't there.
As will be likely most of the last season for all the characters.
I don´t see any problem with the rape scene (was clearly an important tourning point for Theon), but calling the Sansa story now filler is kind of a mute point, when clearly the show is not trying to follow the books a 100% for a long time now. They started the same, but now they are two different universes.
Why is the rape scene the thing everyone is bashing when clearly the fighting choreography and editing in Dorne felt like Xena Warrior Princess in a bad day.

Really liking the SuperGirl trailer, looks fun and cheesy. And she gets to fly from the get go, thanks god for that!!

RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
So…
! After seeing how they develop Hawkeye in the movie, i was thinking that maybe at the end of Civil War we are going to get three factions of Avengers (in the scenario that no one dies of the main heroes):
Hawkeye (leader): Scarlet Witch - Vision - Spiderman
Cap. America (leader): Black Widow - Falcon - Winter Soldier
Iron Man (leader): War Machine - AntMan? - Black Panther?
Thor and Hulk missing in action.
Nick Fury dies??. -
RE: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)
Fuck the haters. Im gonna cry the day they kill Stannis (if they do), big respect for the guy.
-
RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
Watched the movie yesterday, love it. A lot of fun and the action set pieces where insane. But a couple of scenes bother me:
! The magical cavern with Thor was very rushed and didn´t make any sense. And the other big problem was the Black Widow getting captured scene. Why Ultron would let her alive is never explained, i was hoping he would use her as bait for The Hulk, and he would been responsible for sending the green guy to space. That would have made much more sense to me. Like a little victory for him, because let´s face it. Ultron was a funny villain, but he got his ass kicked!

RE: Channel Awesome, AVGN, and other web review shows
Ohh fuck… I have worked on TV and did a fair share of tv proyects when i was studying journalism and that show look horrible. The light is bad, the lack of microphones is painful and the sets looks cheap as fuck. I can´t even watch for more than a couple of minutes. It would help a lot to have a voice off camera helping Brad navigate the games. And never do shaky cam, like never again.

RE: The Walking Dead (AMC series)
Wasnt the point of the second half of the season that Rick need it to learn to trust Deanna and viceversa. I think they learn that. The series main goal is showcasing the loss of humanity in this zombie land. I loved this season, great finale and tons of characters went to have their little moments. I dont know what people except at this point. Kudos to the team for finding new ways of killing walkers. Especially the chain attack.

Go watch some Final Fantasy Type-0 and behold the bloodiest intro for a FF game ever, Kupo!

RE: Dragonball Discussion
Yeah i guess you are right, even tought Toriyama always pull something like "A saiyan get stronger every time he fights and is left almost death", and "taste this water and you will get stronger" "put this earring and you will stronger". But even then, the bigger jumps in power happen by training for long periods of time (The hiperbolic time chamber, the training in the afterlife, Roshi and Kami training) except the fusion, but that is an insane power up. Like for me is always seems fair, that the two that survive to the end against Bu, were the more crazy about training (Goku and Vegeta, you can put Picollo and Ten Shin Han in there too). And even in the trailer you can see Vegeta training with Beerus if im not mistaken. Like you said in your examples, there is almost a catch to every sudden power up, in the case of Gohan at the end, he was training by gods, i guess you can get stronger faster that way.
I need that sudden magic "thing" for Frieza also, something that i least i can buy for him to get that strong, that fast.
-
RE: Dragonball Discussion
Wouldn't that be outside of the Dragon's power?
And make him considerably broken?
Maybe, but even for Dragon Ball logic, 4 months doesn´t amount too anything on terms of training schedule. Almost everytime the DB characters train is for a year or more. When they were kids they took three years in between tournaments to get ready. So is really asking too much for fans, to get a 4 month montage and accept that Frieza is ready to face the now "saiyan god" that is Goku. There need to be some artifact that give him that power, something new maybe.
-
RE: Dragonball Discussion
Really, 4 months of training is all you need to defeat Goku. I call bullshit on that one, i tought Frieza was gonna ask the Dragon Balls for a wish like "I want the power to defeat the saiyan Goku" or something similar. That would make a lot more sense in the power level scale, and could give a sense of tension to the plot. This thing is going to be a mess.

RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
So i recently watch the first 5 episodes of Agent Carter, and is good. Like no incredible good, but it is much better than the shield show was at their premiere. Peggy, Howard, Jarvis and the rest of supporting cast so far has been great. I have a problem with the plot moving kind of slow so far, but Carter kicking ass almost every episode and the Howling Commandos making an appearance is an improvement.
-
RE: Channel Awesome, AVGN, and other web review shows
Well Kyle has a valid point, and with all mayor producers having achieve their goal of an audience, it seems rather normal to follow your own path. Sad to know that Phelous had those problems a the end. In the last years i have move from CA to Best Friends Play (The Hypest). But i will keep checking Chez Apocalypse, that have some great producers there, especially Foldable Human.
-
RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
I like the fact that they are holdig on to any real footage of Ultron kicking ass. For now is only a hand beam. For me that is okay. That final battle is gonna be awesome.
-
RE: Channel Awesome, AVGN, and other web review shows
So that pretty much ends the golden era of the site. I used to watch a lot of content there, now i hardly get exited for a new nostalgia critic.
-
RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
Yeah very weak first teaser. But at least the effect of him becoming little is very cool. It looks like they dont have any mayor action pieces finished, there is a lot that they can showcase in a next trailer, so im cautious about the film. I really want to like the film.
-
RE: The Hobbit movies
I felt the battle was okay. Is no Helm Deep, because basically they have like 20 pages left in the book at this point. There were a lot of change in the scenery and the choreography was great especially for Thorin fight. Legolas was silly from start to finish and like always it ended with a surprise ally at the end, but nonetheless for me it didnt felt long. And the Thorin and Bilbo moments work okay. In terms of action is the better movie of the 3. But lacks that Golum/Smaug scene that made Martin shine in the rol of Bilbo.
