RE: Random News Article Discussion
I don't think it's exactly "liking western culture and trying to copy it," but more of a "they don't have these things that's why they want it."

RE: Chapter 597: "3D2Y" Discussion
that is only for comedy reasons.
Or are you actually truely suggesting that Nami has had Haki ever since they still were in east blue?I think this is just a "running gag" of this series..
I know, lol. I was being totally honest when I said that was what I thought he was referring to, but I know that Nami (and Garp, though i think Garp does have haki lol) being able to do that is a running gag.

Did I miss something?
Is it that far fetched to think that her weather sense has something to do wih it?
Honestly, I thought Greg was referring to how Nami is able to punch and hurt Luffy so easily.

RE: Chapter 597: "3D2Y" Discussion
I can understand the rest of your points - though I do feel that this training was painted as something they absolutely had to do - but I'll still feel gypped if the Supernova powered up the same extent as Luffy (trained by Roger's first mate) and Zoro (trained by the best swordsman in the world.) They're staying apart for two years - if they could have gotten equally powerful without it, I don't see the point.
Not that I want to find the SN's mangled corpses or anything. Just that they should be battered down and much weaker than the SHs (with the exception of Kidd and Law.) Bonney's out of the running, but she'll still have a role to play; it can be the same with the rest.
The others have probably answered you, but the SHs aren't exactly confident right now. Going on training is actually more beneficial because you actually want to learn and get stronger, whereas going on an adventure would only serve to satisfy your love for it, with a few random powerups.
@GolD.:
I think I'll try 2 take all these in one go:
Well that depends on personal definitions. Thou regardless these aren't MAJOR improvements, these R MINOR improvements that will lead 2 MAJOR character growth over the course of our 2yr timeskip. Afterall they won't learn everything in a day. They'll simply progress daily. Thru MINOR improvements
But as for change, do U consider french fries different from french fries wit ketchup. U C 2sum (& many that do apply ketchup) they do it as an improvement 2their food, thou they haven't changed anything. At the end of the day their still eating french fries.
lol dude your not usin logical deductions
Exactly. Let's try to use common sense, shall we? Heck. I'll even get technical.
change (n.) - the act, process, or result of altering and modifying
So you say eating french fries is no different from eating french fries with ketchup? That's just stupid. Though you seem to have misunderstood me. I think it was fairly obvious that I meant there will be MAJOR improvement/change after the timeskip. Major character growth = major improvements. Wtf that's the same
sonic boom of his sword
You really think swords have sonic booms that exaggerated?

Before the war, I would just laugh at your statement. But now… Maybe. Seeing how Oda killed WB and Ace, maybe he'll kill off the big ones (Hawkins? Kidd? Law even??)
They were introduced for a better reason, not just to be some fodder claiming to be a threat and is introduced in the archipelago only to last less than a hundred chapters.

RE: Chapter 597: "3D2Y" Discussion
@GolD.:
Well who told U that, Ur moma or Obama
"Just kidding, I lyk & support Obama, don't wanna get banned 4a joke!"
And all of those items in Ur list were just MINOR improvements. Now over the course of 2 years, these minor improvements will stack up and may even appear as a major character growth 2sum. But should never B confused wit change.
=DWhat the hell are you saying?
No, those aren't MINOR. That's why these call for a timeskip, because they're MAJOR. You know, something of vital importance that they will need to survive the other fucking half of the grand line. And what the fuck? Isn't improvement also considered change? No, actually, that wasn't even a question. IMPROVEMENT is considered as CHANGE.

RE: Chapter 597: "3D2Y" Discussion
I think that at least one of the current supernova's will be a shichibukai and I hope it is Basil Hawkins. He seems to have an interesting power.
I guess it's possible after the timeskip, but not entirely probable… There are a lot of other stars in the NW we don't know of, though right next to the big names the supernovas are the ones who come to mind.
