So Smackdown.
-
I heard what happened. Cody basically got Bret Hart during Wrestlemania IX. Also Cody's reaction pretty much tell it, he wasn't happy.
-
I’m having a ball.
Like I don’t fuck with WWE but I do read up on shit they do here and there. And I was among the people calling bullshit on Roman going over Cody and all the dummies coming out the woodwork to spin that as a good thing because it’s going to make the eventual pay off sweeter. Watch people handwringing over the clear ass pulling and stalling for time they were doing by having such amazing matches like Cody & Dominik at Money In The Bank and Roman vs whichever Uso he wrestled that he already wrestled early in his title reign.
All the “Triple H knows what he’s doing” ass kissing etc. and now the chickens are coming home to roost. And despite that you still have some low IQ morons trying to spin this which such takes as “this is a work”, they wanna get more people to watch wrestlemania and Rock’s a bigger star than Cody, Cody was never having the match if Punk hadn’t gotten hurt.
All that shit. It’s like one of the myriad of reasons I quit watching is because of Brock another part timer getting title reigns out the ass over guys who’re showing up pretty much every week and getting bullshit matches at PPV that were nowhere near as good as people were making them out to be where of course he went over. All these years and this company has not reconciled how monotonous and redundant this is. And how it demonstrates the problem they’re having in growing a new audience a problem they’ve had for like a decade and a half.
There’s no excuse for this bullshit in 2024 and it’s been past time for them (and other promotions to end this practice). I nearly lost my shit when I had to watch Dump Matsumoto getting a match in Stardom where not only did she get the win in said match despite being barely mobile and hardly doing anything but she beat up Mina Shirakawa in the post match another person like Cody who knows a thing or two about having their chain yanked by the promotion they’re working for.
-
Yeah, I'm tempted to talk about how this could turn into a good story for Cody, but after winning the Royal Rumble this doesn't make sense. I'm hoping this turns for the better, but this storyline is steering towards disappointment right now.
-
More news, Rock is coming for Triple H's job now.
-
The next few weeks are going to be interesting to say the least.
-
Yeah for sure. Especially with the Mercedes and Okada stuff as well the chaos that's going on in WWE.
-
Morale’s not looking too good.
-
Oh boy... USA Today is covering the negative reaction of Rock and Roman. And we all know that Rock doesn't like negative reactions.

I like the idea of people are now mad about part timers eating up Pay Per View time over the full time guys. As if this is a new thing when this practice is decades old.
All well and good until it fucks over someone you like huh?
-
Yeah, we saw it alot in the 90's with WCW. Which I'm at end of May 97 in my current watch through, Hogan is barely on the show. While Hall, Nash, Syxx, and Savage are the main NWO guys on the show each episode of Nitro.
-
Funnily enough I had it in mind to mention the DDP/Leno vs Hogan/Bischoff match but at least that could be hand waved with the fact it was happening at a PPV that WCW was knowingly making no money from.
Things like a retired Trish Stratus, Morrison, & Snooki vs Ziggler & Laycool
That godawful Lawler vs Micheal Cole match.
Any Undertaker match after 2011/2012
Shane McMahon vs AJ Styles
Jenna Morasca vs Sharmell
Hogan & Abyss vs AJ Styles & Ric Flair
All the above matches happened at major PPV’s. Would things be worse off if either these matches had been substituted for a better looking match or the part time/retired people weren’t in the match altogether?
I like to think not.
-
This is pretty big news right now. Rossy Ogawa, founder of Stardom got fired by Bushiroad for poaching talent to other wredtling promotions. This news pretty much explains why we never got Stardom talent on AEW.
-
It’s funny seeing r/StardomJoshi being upset at the firing considering some of the questionable booking choices they’ve bitched about which were likely Ogawa’s decisions. While also praising the idea of Ogawa potentially pulling a NJPW/Noah by taking talent and kickstarting a new promotion.
As for more Rock-Roman news apparently according to Wrestling Observer Radio. Rock vs Roman was apparently planned all the way back in early January. So basically Cody despite always being pencilled in to win the Rumble was never going to challenge Roman.
-
Rocky sucks chants already started on Raw.
-
@Sano said in WWE and other fed: Disccusion:

Funny enough, WWE's official channel has that in the title. Either the guys running the channel don't care, or it's so obvious they won't even bother to hide it.

The crowd booed him at NXT Vengeance too.
Now we just need Smackdown to complete the hat trick.
-
Once again, Vince is in more trouble.
-
Anthem sports fired Scott D’amore
I know I said the next few weeks would be interesting but that was exclusively with regards to WWE.
-
Johnny Ace is at it again.
-
Apparently Anthem’s left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing and vice versa.
That or they’re carrying over the incompetence of old school TNA.
-
Oh boy... I hope Scott goes somewhere and help out. I have to say I been enjoy TNA/Impact for the last couple of years.
-
TK big announcement is for the March 13th episode of Dynamite will be at the TD Garden in Boston. With the special episode is called Big Business. At this point, I think this will be the debut of Mercedes Mone.
-
TD Bank Arena & Ticketmaster practically already spoiled it hours beforehand.
More Vince is a fuck up news
https://www.wrestlinginc.com/1512167/ari-emanuel-reportedly-told-wwe-vince-mcmahon-best-resign/ -
So I take all this was a work. Nice, I was worried for a minute there. The animosity towards Cody losing this match was obvious, and in hindsight they clearly knew it.
-
They already made Cody look like a bitch don’t know why they felt the need to quadruple down on it.
Edit: And of course we got the gullible brigade talking about how amazing this storyline is and taking some dumb as hell potshots.
-
Vince is just disgusting.
https://www.vice.com/en/article/epv78z/ashley-massaro-wwe-vince-mcmahon-sexual-divas
-
And yet of course you’ll have people trying to spin this as a hit job on a successful man who started from nothing,
got a job from his father, fucked over numerous people, and made himself a success. For the most part though the wrestling community has seemingly “finally” decided to stop kissing Vince’s ass. Even those that let themselves be conned into parlaying with him.
-
And apparently Kevin Nash is apparently getting dragged for releasing a shirt title “NDA 4 life” along with some weirdly contradictory statements.
-
This isn't a good look for Booker T.
-
blockquote Despite these warnings, we're told that Reed made himself present numerous times around Rose and others. Rose attempted to file stalking and harassment charges, but the charges were denied on the grounds that Rose and Reed were never in a relationship with one another. Rose claims that an officer did make contact with Reed and indicate that he should leave Rose alone.
I hope whoever made this determination lost their job. Even a casual like me knows this is a bullshit argument. But given how idiocy is prevalent in stalking/harassment cases
That aside nice to see further confirmation of Booker T being a dumbass with a hint of megalomania.
-
I used to like Booker T back in WCW. But as years gone by I just begin not caring much of him. Especially during Post TNA, when he was on commentary. So this situation and a lot of comments he made the last several years just make me disappointed in him.
-
It’s like that what most people you idolize.
Steve Austin was my favorite wrestler back in the day liked him more than the Rock. And then of course you turn on the news and find out he got popped on a domestic violence charge after leaving the company…..and then you find out years later he was engaged in the same behavior same when he was in WWE and they apparently swept that under the rug.
“Can’t punish the draw”. Something that of course the fans buy into even if these same people that shit on other wrestlers for being selfish pricks.
-
Yeah, the Austin incident back then did really brother me back in the day. Since that and the Owen Hart incident were like the first wrestling controversy that I really pay attention to this stuff.
-
Yeah the Over The Edge thing is also something I remember, specifically JR’s somber report on Owen’s death.
What I didn’t know at the time was that the accident had happened live at the PPV. I only found this out when my brother told me which I guess he found out by way of the news which 10 yo me at the time didn’t engage too much with.
Something that we haven’t touched on with regards to Vince McMahon. Is that it says something that with all the shitty things Vince signed off on or did.
Such as idiocy with Owen, covering for Jimmy Snuka, Doing business with Moolah, Montreal, Bullshitting about not knowing the dangers of concussions the stuff with Austin & Chris Benoit (pre 2007), The Bill Demott stuff.
That his reputation is seemingly shot because of his penchant for using his female employees for quick and easy booty calls.
-
I knew about some of the stuff around the Jimmy Snuka stuff. But it wasn't until the Dark Side of the Ring episode came out that I learned about Vince was trying to pay off ether the police or Nancy's family. Which I just found gross. I remember when the Bill Demott stuff was going on, because I was avid watcher of the pre network era of NXT and I notice several people were gone during a certain point and got release. I can't believe Bill Demott was the reason that Kenny Omega almost retired from pro wrestling.
I recently watch some of the Ashley and Vince stuff the last couple days. And it was just hard to watch and knowing what we know now. I just hope all the victims get their justice.
-
Hope so too but the cynic in me won’t entertain that possibility. So I just have to be content with Vince hopefully being truly blackballed from the business he tried to bullshit everybody into thinking he saved.

Shut up Bill and you too Ronda
-
I'm not a Ronda fan. But I don't blame her for bashing Bruce Prichard. Especially after reading this.
And it no wonder why alot of people in the wrestling industry doesn't like Bruce.
-
So basically they gave her the Sasha & Naomi deal.
-
All I will say about the Punk thing today. Is that he so a huge hypocrite with his comments.
-
I almost hate to ask what he said since I “not interested” anything relating to Punk, Tony Khan, & Jack Perry.
But other than seeing him mention Nick Khan was key in bringing him back what did he say?
