IT would be very nice if he did
Does Oda have any writing/or say about fillers?
-
-
Define "Writing or Say"… So you mean "Opinion"...?
He doesn't throw Fillers in to annoy us, if that's what you mean. The anime always has to stay 5 steps behind the manga.
-
I mean who writes the stories?
And does Oda have Any "Control" over the fillers? (as in writing control) -
Oh… well, I'm pretty sure he does... wait, of course he does! I'm sure he doesn't pour as much thought into the fillers (Koff Warship Arc Koff Koff) as he does in the actual manga, but that's perfectly understandable.
I don't think it would matter, anyway, because I think of fillers as meat and us the dogs. As long as it's One Piece, they can throw it into a pit filled with us and we'll gobble it up no matter how bad it is.

G8 was a wonderfully animated arc, Animation was alot smoother then usual..
Pretty good meat =D -
I think he would be an advisor, or have to approve the filler storylines so that they don't interfere with his continuity or anything. You know, so there aren't any mistakes such as Zoro cutting steel during the Apis arc.
-
No, Oda doesn't write any fillers/movies/specials. He doesn't even serve as an advisor. Only thing he does is draw the characters for the movies and maybe a yes or no with some ideas they want to use (particularly a devil fruit they would like to use in the filler but Oda is planning on putting it in the actual story). He said in a interview he is a manga artist so he leaves the animation to the animators. Everything you see in the anime that is not in the manga is strictly Toei's doing.
He has enough work coming up with a new chapter every week to also work on the T.V adaptation don't you think?
-
He does have SOME involvment in the production of the anime. There was an article that was posted here that talked about his involvment, like for intance how he is very picky about the voices chosen for main characters. He doesn't write fillers, but sometimes things that appear to be fillers were actually cut from the manga for time and space constraints.

Is it at all possible thhat the CobyMeppo mini-story in the anime is just that? I know it's also a cover-story, but it almost seems like Oda told them to put it in.
-
I'm not sure what Oda's original intent for the cover stories are. Did he plan that from the start, or is it something that started because he wanted to do some side stories but didn't think it would be good to take up time just for the minor characters. I guess it doesn't matter, it's like the chicken or the egg. :P But I know that episode 50 is an example of something that Oda wrote that was cut.

Huh, really? Any possibility of a link to that article? Sounds interesting.

I dont see whats wrong with Warship/Apis arc its better than both goat island and Rainbow mist. And i don`t see whats wrong with filler arcs either.

Well, the part about buying the goggles was in an SBS. Someone who used to come to this forum posted a link to a graphic novel that contained the Daddy the Father story. I didn't bookmark it or anything though.

Well, anything's better than Goatsex island.
I don't think that manga writers have any control over anime fillers.

Based on the Zoro cutting Steel thing in the Apis arc, and the apparent double-rumble ball continuity mistakes, I'd say he doesn't do too much. He barely gets the weekly Manga out.

Oda's always several chapters ahead of Jump just in case, but he also works on Toei staff by submitting character designs and as a supervisor. Top that with his other projects (data books/ logs), answering fan letters and doing celebrity appearences/interviews, and it's pretty obvious Oda is very busy.

Thanks, I was waiting for that to turn up. ^^

Based on the Zoro cutting Steel thing in the Apis
Correct if im wrong
but didn't they say the the chains were made of iron?
-
I think he made the entire framework for movie 4, judging by the huge spread of Shuraiya/Gasparde/Adelle, etc. that he made a while before it came out.
-
As stated, he has a lot more over it than people think.

This is what I thought as well… I actually had an argument with a couple of friends a week ago about this...
