Gentlemen, behold! I am making an intro!

Hallo, all you crazy Arlong Parkians. I am Roz, and I pretty much just followed Cap'n Carter over here. I've been lurking around for a little while and I figured that, as I usually do when I lurk around a forum for a while, I should probably register. So, now it looks like you're pretty much stuck with me.

As for super-fun contributions, other than basic conversation I can't say that I can dish out much exciting fanstuff. On other forum communities I've been to, many times it's been asked what the users can do to contribute to the fandom. Unfortunately, my specialty is pretty much limited to magnification. I'm a big fan of making myself sound really creepy when summarizing this - I love to magnify things. I've got a growing collection of photos of insects and as of a few days ago, I've been experimenting working with little pictures as well. I don't think I've quite got the hang of it yet, but I'll probably figure out how to make stuff other than bugs unnecessarily huge and still nice looking if I keep making attempts at it.

Despite my lack of contributing ability, I do hope that we will be having good conversations with each other during my time here.

I guess I should also mention a few little bits about my other fandom in anime/manga. My anime and manga tastes are thus far limited to OP and Lupin III. I'm apparently hard to please and tend to reject most recommendations made to me - In fact, I started reading One Piece determined that I was going to hate it. Needless to say, those feelings went away pretty quickly. Thanks to my addictive personality, I've been sticking with pretty much just those two. I only just started One Piece about two weeks or so ago, but I'm already quite enthusiastic about it. I've been watching kaizoku-fansubs and reading the Viz translated books, occasionally using a scanlation to peek ahead or to see if any dialogue seems to be siginificantly changed.

Suppose I should stop there so that my wall of text doesn't fall on and crush anyone. If anyone has any questions for me, I'll probably get to answering them eventually.

I'm quite aware of that, yes, but I prefer the excitement of whipping out a fresh new volume over waiting for a download to finish, granted the dialogue tends to differ greatly between Viz and the scanlations making it pleasantly different. Like I said, I only really use the online chapters to occasionally peek ahead.

I do not usually post in Introduction threads, but the "Gentleman, behold!" text grabbed me and wouldn't let me go until I clicked. With that introduction and the fact that you are Carter's friend, I would say you have two very good recommendations under your belt.

Also, I happen to find magnified moth and butterfly wings very beautiful. There was an exhibit of moths in a local Lancaster museum a year or two ago and I was enthralled. I am not a huge insect fan, but the wings on these insects really impressed me. Feel free to open a thread and share your hobby with the forum. Take care and I'll see ya around the forums.

I wouldn't worry too much about the Zio discussion. At least I was familiar with him before I got here so it's not like there's some strange conversation about some random dude going on that's going to scare me away.

t OwnerZeff - An insect exhibit in Lancaster? I'm just a little ways northwest of there, but from the looks of things it was just temporary. Unfortunately, I don't have too many butterfly/moth photos. I definitely have more moth photos than butterfly ones (Like that moth in my signature.), but my absolutely favorite ones to take photos of are bees. They're so cute and fluffy when you magnify them.

I've only really had the chance to photograph a butterfly once. The thing is, my camera's zoom doesn't work at all so I have to be about a centimeter or less away from whatever I'm taking a picture of in order for it to show up nice and big and clear. There was an exceedingly cooperative butterfly about two summers ago that I had the pleasure of photographing. One of the things I really want to take pictures of most though are those little fuzzy caterpillars, but I haven't seen a single one for years.

Some of the most interesting things to take pictures of aren't even living, though. They're just random ideas or stuff that I find on my desk, like this.

That would be a little resized piece of the result of a glass of icy water sitting on my desk for too long when I decided that it would be a good idea to color the condensation using the tip of a needle dipped in a slight amount of watercolor paint. Weird little things like that can be even more fun and interesting than stalking a firefly with a leaf in one hand and a camera in the other.

Perhaps I'll stick a thread up at some point.
