Well, so for the new chapter, we see Gluttony going berserk kind of thing, what do you think will happen? Will Gluttony sort of open the gate like the anime or something? Or will he transform!? I can't wait for the new chap next month!

this is no doubt one of my favorite anime/manga seires of all-time. i realize i'm a total noob to this site, but i must express my devotion to this particular anime. it's complex and simple at the same time: it is a world of alchemy, whic follows a simple law: equivalent exchange. in other words, your output equals your input, like chemistry. only with alchemy, you can change an object's chemical composition into something completely different; such as turning lead into gold. two boys, alphonse and edward elric, set off on a journey to obtain the fabled philosopher's stone, which allows one to surpass the law of equivalent exchange, in order to restore their bodies. of course, this is just a summary; both the anime and the manga go WAAAAY deeper. this anime definitely goes alongside one piece on my list of favorites, and that's saying something in my opinion.

i agree with u. fullmetal alchemist is the best series. i only own 2 manga volume released in the us with me and now i trying to collect all the dvd series with the best dub ever. it is a strong story after all.

I'm still in the process of editing and uploading my Otakon pics, but I thought you all might appreciate it.
That would be me as Ed, my friend Steve as Armstrong (damned mustache wouldn't stay put) Jen as Riza Hawkeye, Dan as Hughes, and Monty as Roy. The guy standing next to me is Vic Mignogna, the english voice of Ed. Regardless of how you feel about the dub, the english VAs are REALLY awesome people, who are fans of the show themselves. Vic is such a fanboy! It meant a lot to me that he'd just come up to us and compliment our costumes and take a random picture.Edit - Cheza, thank you! I'm glad you liked the video!

If you're laughing at Steve's Armstrong, that's what he's there for XD! If you're laughing at the Ed, Roy, or Hughes, you're laughing at about four-six weeks of my laboring over a sewing machine and getting burnt by hot glue =\ (Riza was made by Jen's Mom, I take no blame for that one!) And if you're laughing at Vic…Oh well...he is a dork. But a sweet one at that XD!

Yeh, as for costumes, everytime I see someone wearing a military alchemist uniform, I think its authentic. They're all so good. I tried sewing Ed's coat once, but I couldn't control the sewing machine well, so the needle ended up through my thumb. Since then, I have only admired from afar.
By the way Ginny, were you the Nami in that One Piece masquerade skit (the crossdressing one)?

Zio - Thank you muchly! And god damn it, I feel your pain on the lack of Greed stuffages. I swear he is the most under appreciated character, and he's my second favorite after Hughes (although sometimes I think I like Greed even more) Monty's supposed to comission me a Greed plushie. In the mean time, the only thing I've ever seen for sale has been KimbleexGreed yaoi fan art (not even doujinshi - the Japanese don't even use him in their porn!) which ain't really my cup o' tea.
megakazul - Yeah, at Otakon Vic was saying that Travis Willingham, Roy's VA, was really upset he couldn't do the film - But he and Travis are going to make short "Itchy and Scratchy" type shorts with Ed and Roy action figures. I can't wait to see those. And ugh!!! I do not blame you for being sewing machine shy after that kind of incident. It took me a couple years of practicing on and off to get comfortable with it.
And going a bit OT…damn straight that was me in the crossdressing skit XD! The Roy in the picture was Sanji, and the Armstrong was Zoro. If you were at Anime Next 04 or Anime USA 04, the crazy OP skits were our fault as well ^_~

And go Ling, he's so kickass. I wish some of fights were animated. Especially the recent one with Envy.

The closest thing I've gotten to cosplay is I dressed up as Agent Smith from the matrix. If I had a decision I'd dress up as that girl who was obbessed with books. Oh yes might I menchion my Hughes fangirldom is very…hmm what's the word?

Just bought FMA Perfect Guidebook 2.. I must say the insert story was hilarous. It's about how Izumi went to "learn" alchemy. Remember her talking about surviving in a snowy mountain stuff? Apparently, that's where she got the "All for one, one for all" kinda thing (can't remember the exact English translation..)

I've seen the whole series, reflections, and the movie. I say the movie is good but I can see why it got bad reviews on it.I have to say it's the most touching series I've ever seen in my life. Poor Aru… transmuted into the philosopher's stone sniff
I was wondering if anyone has played the fan game Bluebird's Illusion? If you have tell me if it's good or not. I highly doubt it will come to America.

That would be Ed trying to find out if he actually made his mother properly, but to his demise it wasn't.

I was hoping that Mustang's view and situation would be more elaborate but I guess that's being held off till later.
As for Father, I keep thinking he's gonna be like YHWH from Angel Sanctuary.
But other than that, I can't wait for the new chapter either!

The manga just keeps out-doing itself with every chapter, 52 was amazing.
Personally I think Mustang might be sent to Drakma (sp?) or something, Arakawa-sensei said that place would be playing a role in the manga sometime soon. We'll see though.
And HOLY SHIT at Envy's true form. That is just so disturbing.

I started reading FMA a few days ago on www.readmanga.com
I just finished all of it that they have and I have a problem.
I think I missed an important part of the story.
I can't remember them explaining why the people from the East have joined forces with our main cast of characters.
Like why is the ninja girl following Al around?
Why is the old ninja guy helping Major Armstrong with the efforts in the ruins?
Did they make some kind of an alliance that I missed? From what I can tell even Edward is clueless as to what is going on, but it looked like Rin (the rich eastern kid) filled in Al and their friend about it at the start of one of the chapters.
Can anyone help me out? I have only read up to Chapter 40, but like I said, I think some pages might have been missing.

After Ed leaves with Major Armstrong, Ling senses Envy's Chi while Envy is busy getting his ass kicked by Ran Fan and Al decides to tag along with him, Meanwhile when Ed, Armstrong, & Breda reach their destination Ed recognizes Gen Fu and later Gen Fu reveals that Ling wanted him to take Maria Ross out of the country because of her being framed for Hughe's murder.
Ling has Ran Fan follow Al to the hospital just in case any homonculus decide to attack Al, Ed & Ling don't actually decide to team up until chapter 44 or 45 after Ed gets back from Resembool.

I only started watching this again, and I want to beat myself up for giving up on it before. It's really a great show, with some great characters. Some shock deaths along the way. (Episode 26 was like a slap in the face!).

If you haven't read the manga yet you should really beat yourself up the anime would've been twice as good as the manga if they had waited longer I mean once I found out about the manga I was put-off with the anime especially after taking into consideration with how they threw so many changes into the anime.

I got into the manga when the anime was around episode 34… I really started to despise the anime and how they ruined a lot of characters (Al and Winry, oh my god what did they do to Winry?!). But after a while I just realized they only had 4 volumes to work with before they had to think of a major plotline and ending themselves, so I don't think it's fair comparing them at this point. However I do feel sad for those anime fans who don't know the genius of the manga yet...
Has anyone read chapter 53? Honestly, it's almost getting irrating saying "omfg best chapter ever!!!" but it seems to be true every month... some major MAJOR shit went down this month, can't wait until december 12th! <3
